Valentine's Day is just round the corner and as we all know, in K-drama universe, there are perfect K-Drama boyfriends.  These characters have set the bar so high that unfortunately, no real man has been able to meet the standards.  So, we make do with our real life partners.

From Cdramaland, I'd say Hidden Love's Jiaxu-gege played by Chen Zhe Yuan fits the bill. He walks the talk, and is smart enough to figure her out, and win the approvals of her friends, brother, and her parents. He moves back to her hometown, where he attended university years before, because he doesn't want her to miss the place and her family.

*** K-dramas have a formula, making their characters more relatable. You might love it or hate it. 

 Ji Chang Wook’s character in “Healer” has completely captured my heart. Completely. Of course, I didn’t say that he’s perfect because he’s truly without flaws. He’s simple. When he meets Chae Young Shin, Seo Jung Hoo’s dream becomes even more simple – to live a normal life. He wants to be like other everyday people. Like getting married and have children. He’s gorgeous inside and out. He has smooth moves. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop, crashing through windows and taking on a dozen men all by himself. Seo Jung Hoo totally sizzles whenever he leaps into action.  I’m always a big fan of baseball caps and all black ensembles so, on Seo Jung Hoo, it’s undeniably swoon worthy. Now, I wonder why Lee Min Ho’s character in City Hunter not included in this poll, huh? How wonderful it would be if he could be my boyfriend in real life! 

Song Joong Ki’s character in Descendant’s of the Sun is also a perfect man for me because he’s very manly and brave, fit for an officer. Although, Yoo Si Jin is a warm-hearted man who even acts cute in front of the woman he loves. Song Joong Ki’s trademark-like clear skin and good looks, as well as a muscular body, completes the character that is ideal for me. That’s why, I always remember the Yoo Si Jin in the drama after watching it.

Choi Jin Hyuk’s character in Tunnel is perfect for me, too. Since he’s a detective, he’s a dashing hero catching the suspect. I swoon over his character, from being like a puppy in love, being confused, going panic, getting into rage, to being cool and collected, Choi Jin Hyuk shows it all. I feel him!

Since Ji Sung’s character in Kill Me, Heal Me is broken down into seven different personalities, which is awesome to behold but, I’d rather choose the nice Cha Do-hyun. What’s there not to love a business heir? But, not & minus his traumatizing past, so much so that there will be no multiple personalities to get through...

Kim Soo Hyun’s character in It’s Okay to Not be Okay is caring and compassionate. These personalities draw me to his character. He patiently cares for his brother. I like his calm manner. I believe that how he is as a boyfriend is a direct reflection of the way he loved his brother. But, just like Ji Sung’s character in Kill Me, Heal Me, not & minus his traumatizing past as well, which gives him a hard life. I don’t prefer an odd man who has many secrets in his past. But, nice seeing him and his brother move on from it and heal. I love seeing characters that bear their burdens or their pain stoically, because when I get to see their vulnerable sides, I see & know JUST how strong they are.

That’s a great choice! I agree wholeheartedly! But, he’s still not the one I’m thinking about…

gahhhhh…am annoyed at myself.

 

Nevermind, it’ll probably come back to me next year…in the meantime, the lead character in The Wolf (Darren Wang) is definitely one who is a strong contender though he does make the FL cry. Story is a little like Tarzan but this one lived with wolves instead of the safari. Kekeke.

@kokodus I am glad we gave you other options to vote for.  I wish these were real men instead of fictional characters. Like the fictional men in books who are oh so perfect. Wish there was some machine to create the perfect man but then perfect man is a myth. How do you think V would fare as a namja chingu?

He was such a gentleman, chingu. So selfless and so protective. And Jung Il-woo was just the perfect casting for the character. It was very remiss of me to not include him. I'll vote for him for sure. Thanks for reminding me of him. This is strange because just the other day I was talking about the drama while discussing 'bossom' with @partyon.

That's a great idea actually. Though most of the MLs are jerk in C-dramas cold and ruthless, some are really golden retrievers kind.
