  1. With no competition from MBC last weekend (as it was showing the TV movie version of its highest rated Fri-Sat drama "Knight Flower" on Friday and a preview of "Wonderful World" on Saturday, the rating for "Flex X Cop" broke 10% and soared to 11.0% at the mid-point of the series. This also represents the first time SBS's Fri-Sat drama reaches double digit rating since "Revenant" last July. With 4 more weeks to go, it does look like this serial will continue its upward trajectory in the ratings table.
  2. Fully agree with @LeftCoastOppa, Honey Lee is one of the reasons I watch this serial and "Knight Flower" is now MBC's highest rated Friday-Saturday drama, surpassing the Red Sleeve in terms of ratings. The last episode's ratings was 18.4% (3.4m viewers), a whooping 3% increase over episode 11's! Congratulations to Honey Lee & the crew - if Lee Je Hoon's "Chief Inspector 1958", which will premiere on April 2024 cannot beat this serial in terms of ratings & popularity, Honey Lee has practically locked the Daesang (Grand Prize) for the year-end MBC Drama Awards 2024!
  3. Thankfully I didn't watch this....so the title is misleading? KBS2 daily drama seems to be getting from bad to worse! The last one I watched till the end was "Vengeance of the Bride". "Love Twist" was actually a much better drama than any of the last few!
  4. This KBS's 50th Anniversary Drama Special is indeed going from strength to strength, with 7 awards won last week at the KBS Drama Awards 2023, despite only airing up to Episode 14. Choi Soo Jung, Kim Dong Jun, and Ji Seung Hyun all won the acting awards, Couple Award, and Popularity Award! There was even 2 presenters who wore the Khitan Emperor & General attires to present the awards much to the audience's liking and applause. That shows how popular this show is now. The rating makes it an icing on the cake, starting strong and now climbing past 10% to reach its highest rating at 10.2% so far in Episode 15. Tonight's episode marks the halfway point - can this go even better to beat "The King of Tears - Lee Bang Won"'s 11.7%?
  5. I would agree with your rating of "Perfect Marriage Revenge" - one of the more enjoyable weekend watch over the last 1.5 months and I enjoyed the revenge part! 8.5-9 out of 10. Much better the daily revenge dramas we have been watching so far in the past 2 years.
  6. They could have ended the serial when Min Do Hyuk has the chance to kill Shim Jun Seok, only for Han Mo Ne and Yang Jin Mo to mess it up and at the end, the plan failed and they were instead held captive And whats with that hide and seek game that did nothing except to see a few armed goons getting killed by the unarmed captives. What a waste of time and that finale scene on top of the building shows again that the 6 are all greedy bastards that will certainly deserve no redemption arc whatsoever (including Mo Ne & Jin Mo) by siding once again with Jun Seok! Kang Ki Tak and Lee Hwi So survived the explosion in the deserted island, only for Lee Hwi So to die on top of the building? And Ki Tak rescuing Do Hyuk by jumping down the building The only watchable scene in the entire episode is when Chairman Sim revealed the truth in his press conference before he died. Overall, an unbelievable and illogical ending really and I have to rant here! Literally the worst show I have watched this year and perhaps ever! And what is the plot line in Season 2 going to be? All out revenge by Ki Tak & Do Hyuk against the 6 and Jun Seok? I don't wish for Season 2 to last 16 episodes, at most 12-13 episodes please.
  7. The rating for the Finale of Season 1 is 6.6% (1.154m viewers) and it is barely watchable at the moment. Season 2 is to be aired in Mar/Apr 2024. This is even worse than "The First Responders", which at least reached 10% in its last episode of S1. Looking at the trend, the average rating for Season 2 is likely to be hovering between 5-7%. The rating last night was about half that of "My Dearest" second last episode at 12.4% (2.301m viewers), which was the highest rated show in South Korea last night & its highest rating too for its run. This number will definitely be broken today, with the last episode (Episode 21), which is an extended one, to be aired this evening. MBC is definitely milking this one, with one more night of high rating ensured.
  8. A messy episode as always, with Bang Chil Sung's money being found out by Nam Cheol Woo and Cha Joo Ran, only for the truck containing it to be driven away. Noh Pang Hee ended up dead while K barely survived the fall from the top of the building. With his lover dead, Yang Jin Mo is now turning against K. Han Mo Ne was also seen running with Hannah from K's henchmen and was begging Ji A's sister to help them. K's identity as Shim Jun Seok is now known to everybody including Chairman Sim, thanks to the tapping by Min Do Hyuk but that is not before yet another deep fake video being telecasted live that shows Do Hyuk and Chairman Sim shooting each other Geum Ra Hee's identity as Bang Dal Mi's birth mom is also exposed now and it will be interesting to see how things unfold in the last episode of Season 1 next Friday. Don't tell me Bang Dal Mi is still alive!
  9. Yes, that is the plan. This show could have been shortened to just 2 more episodes. I just cannot see how else can the story be extended.
  10. The rating for the latest episode is 5.2%, lowest for the serial so far, less than half of that notched by “My Dearest” at 10.8%! Next Fri will be the last episode of Season 1 and I think the rating can go even lower as it will be facing up against the second last episode of “My Dearest” which will be concluding its run on Saturday, after it is extended by 1 more episode. And really, it is no more than what this serial deserves, the lowest rated weekend drama for SBS in 2023, after the back-to-back success of Payback, Taxi Driver S2, Dr Romantic S3, and Revenant. The plot is so convoluted with so many twists and turns that it has become tiresome & no longer worth following.
  11. This story like what many highlighted is a mess and lack someone we can root for. Initially, we were rooting for Matthew Lee, only to know he's a fake. And now, we are made to sympathise with the 7 (6 of which are supposed to be indirectly or directly causing Dal Mi's death). Min Do Hyuk or Kang Ki Tak (supposedly he's not dead and will be back after a time jump?) is supposed to be the good guy but honestly I felt that Do Hyuk is too dumb to be duped by Matthew and he does not give the aura of the hero in this serial. It is also getting muddled in terms of what kind of story it wishes to tell. Is it about revenge on Dal Mi's death? Or is it about revenge on getting back his inheritance right for Joon-Seok? Or what really??? Kim Soon-Ok is too ambitious to tie all this into a coherent storyline. I actually prefer "Perfect Marriage Revenge" shown in MBN on Sat & Sun. It has a clear revenge plot that is not muddled by extra sub-plot that eventually confuses everyone. The heroine of the serial is also someone you can identify with and you will root for her in her revenge plan! I am actually glad that the serial is winding down its Season 1 with another 3 more episodes and I think it will end with a cliffhanger (much like how Penthouse Season 1 & 2 ended).
  12. That was only for yesterday when “My Dearest” was not shown due to baseball playoff. Both serials air at the exact time slot and in the past few weeks “7 Escape” (6-7%) is way below “My Dearest” (10-12%). I am very sure “My Dearest” will be above “7 Escape” again for today’s episode. It will be 11-13% for “My Dearest” vs the same 6-7% for “7 Escape”.
  13. It will be more or less like "The Red Sleeve", which was extended by 1 more episode. I predict they will follow suit to make sure it will end at Episode 21, when the ratings will typically be higher. Or they may extend to 2 more episodes and air a 2-hour finale on Saturday (18 November 2023).
  14. The end of Season 1 of "7 Escape" has no chance against "My Dearest (Part 2)". Both serials have 3 more episodes before the Finale and there are talks of "My Dearest" extending its run by 1-2 more episodes (similar to "The Red Sleeve" 2 years ago) and rightly so as it has been MBC's highest rated serial this year, with 12.2% rating (notched in last episode of Part 1). The rating for "My Dearest" today is likely to hit at least 12% also. Meanwhile, "7 Escape"'s rating is pretty weak so far and it has yet to beat "The First Responders Season 2"'s 9.3% (highest rating). Let alone other highly rated SBS serials this year like "Taxi Driver Season 2" (21.0%), "Dr Romantic Season 3" (16.8%), "Payback" (11.4%) and "Revenant" (11.2%).
