I don't know if anyone has already mentioned this. If LG kills LR in 1994. SJ will remain in KOC and his mom was trying to drown him. If she succeeds, SJ will die at the age of 8. Yikes!

When JTE and LG said goodbye, JTE mentioned the 10, 11, 12th rules , mentioning the things that future LG said when he brought her the flowers. Open the doors to all universe, will return to her but she never told him that he came from the future and with the flowers disappearing, seems like he never will. He promised her he would return but then he was prepared to let baby LG die so was he not lying to her for the first time??? He never lied to her except when teasing her or trolling her but not on serious stuff.

After rewatching , I realize Episode 15 has an overload of sweetness especially in the hospital. Love it.

I chose the horseshoe so not sure why it is an upgrade if you mean upgrade from no AV at all to an AV? I prefer loser horseshoe than loser gang from salt farm. I can't find the regular horseshoe that someone posted but I took this from the AV of another loser, stole his or her AV, don't remember whom but it was also a loser.

I am 20 pages behind have not seen all the comments but episode 15 have created more questions:-
- To go back to 1994 again, both LG and LR must be together with their flutes, correct? It does not work for JY or SJ. However since LG now has the two halves and he can travel like his ancestors, back in time, lateral, etc without causing time to stop, why did he not go back in time and kill the young LR alone. Why did he need to ask SJ to bring LR back to the past as well? He does not need to take LR with him, right???
- When LG was travelling through the 26 years going in and out, it seems to me that LR did not realize that or feel the time stops. He only noticed it again when he was strangling the PM that LG had crossed the portal but LG had been crossing the portal the past 4 months many times, enough to warn LR or does crossing in previous years not affect present year so LR does not notice it?
- Su Jin is supposed to be the heir if LG dies. He made the law before he plans to leave but she was killed and I believe the heir after her. Two were killed so now LG has no heirs should he die. What will happen then? Who is the next heir? The exiled son of Prince Buyeong?
- He still plans to go back and he expects to die. Actually if he dies at 8 years old, Prince Buyeong will take over, right?
- He said he had the scar because it was his destiny to kill his young self. However JTE plans to take the place of SJ. Can she change the trajectory of fate?
- JTE wants Luna to take her place and be with her father while she leaves to be with LG. She said Luna will live, how? Do she have a cure for Luna? Does Luna need an organ? How is she going to get an organ for Luna when she plans to leave almost immediately with LR? She can't donate, she does not have time.
- The flowers LG gave JTE when he came from the future disappeared which hints that LG never came from the future to see her. Does that mean he dies (sad ending) or that he does not need to return from the future because he is in the present with her (happy ending)???

In the preview, is the guy in the military uniform Ji Hun? You can see the name there but I can't read Korean. If it is Ji Hun that means the couple in the 1950s is Ji Hun and JTE that end up together? LG dies as a child. but they cannot go back in time though as there is no flute. So is it really the 50s? Both are in ROK and there is not flute in ROK.

So this trip back to the 1994 has both LG and JY going back to the night of treason. I got it right this time so do I get to change from horseshoe to Maximus or LG and JTE ?

Yes, he was away 4 months but since he went back in time he could pick when to return so he had that control on when to return. I thought he had to travel in and out daily but I did not think he could just stay in the in-between land and wait for days but I guess like LR he could.

@briseis You are right here and I said this a little earlier today, that I discovered you are right but I don't understand if he was only missing a few days in the real world in ROK, why did JTE miss him so much, it seems like he had been gone forever. He will miss her because it is 4 months but for her it is just a few days from when he left so why was she pining and missing him so much as well? He had been gone longer than that in the past when his uncle was killed. This is just a few days, she should say, you are back pretty fast this time.
It has just been a few days. But it seemed to me like she was waiting a long time too for him. -

I watched the episode again and he said it takes 4 months inside the in-between world to go through 26 years (I missed that the first time, I thought he said 4 months of regular time which is few days in the in-between world) The first date was December 20, 1994 and then when he went through again, it was Dec 22, 1994 when he looked at the man's newspaper. So he had to go through the portal each way daily. Dec 20 and 22 in ROK and Dec 21 he was in ROC so he had to go through everyday laterally for 26 years but he did not age 26 years but only 4 months. That happened to LR too, he aged about 4 months or so. Yikes to travel every day for 26 years is tiring and stressful. So wonder he looked so desperate and tired in the phone booth saying it is a while more before I can see you. What did he do for food and drink? He must smell then with no change of clothes for 4 months
If he travels through the years daily, and he saw her a few times in the past, I don't quite understand why he had no time to waste as
if he misses each moment by a second, he could not meet her. Why not even by a second? He could meet her a day later or hours later as as long as it is after the day he left for the rescue of his young self. If it was before e.g. a day before, there would be two LGs in ROK. One would be poisoned by Luna. That part is a puzzle. Any answer to that? Perhaps I missed the discussion.
If LR is dead, how come the arrest of LR by JTE has not been shown yet? It should have been done before his death.

It is kind of silly to kill the older LG. He comes from the future so he should have some interesting insights and killing baby LG may make sense since he has been through the history and come back to warn himself. Young LR is not thinking straight.

Moreover, if you need futher proof that it hasn't been four months, only look at the preview - LG comes back in time to rescue TE from dying. There hasn't been a 4-month time jump nor anything that would suggest it. It's still early spring. They are wearing light coats, the trees are in bloom, their petals are flowing in the air... When Luna stabs her, TE still has the bandages which cover her wounds from the gas explotion which occured only days after LG left - on her neck and on fingers - if you remember, some people previously thought that one of those bandages was an engagement ring

I remember distinctly LG saying that he will be away from JTE for 4 months.
And 1 hour in the in-between land is a few hours in the normal world so a day in the in-between world is several days in the real world , that is why LR remains so young. It is 26 years in the real world and only maybe 5 years in the in-between world so LR did not age much at all.
Yet, he travels in and out of the years, and he did say he had a narrow time line to return before the flute disintegrates and he needed to return at an exact timeline or he would miss the connection so I am confused about that. It seems like @Heretorantis correct in that sense. He returns in a few days or a few hours. He calculated that. So it is confusing. He said both things about being 4 months away and returning at a specific time and place and asking JTe to meet him there. However as I said if he is in the in-between world for 4 months, he would be away from the real world at least a year or two away and KOC would be in a panic with a missing king.
The red in the painting is a bad omen indeed then.

Aya02 is right, he was away a few days in the nowhere land but will be away from JTE for 4 months, Briseis.
There was only two poisoning attempts not 3. The bowl that Lady Noh fed to the chickens was the bowl that SJ's mom had and where she ate from. Lady Noh took that bowl of food to feed the chickens as a test.

I lost, I actually always thought it was just LG but I listened to my fellow Monarchs and believed the two pairs of shoes theory. I thought unbreakable sword was the more likely person. Okay Maximus horse shoe.
What I can deduce about the flute? When old LR was killed, the flute disintegrated but young LR would get the flute after hurting young LG. The flute would be in LR's possession again and if LR decides not to go and visit his young self, he would still be alive. However, after he was killed his flute is gone so half the flute has vanished.
As for LG, he has the original flute, but it is disintegrating as he moves from year to year and he believes he needs to get back to 2020 before it vanishes forever. He said he had a short window of time where he has to return to that exact moment. I think if he misses it, there would be two LG's . Like he saw himself as a child in 2020 and if he had looked on the day of the rowing competition, he would see the other LG winning the race. He had to return at that exact moment to get to present day, that means he has to return on the day he left to rescue his young self. He has to return that exact day or later. If he missed and returned a day too early, the other LG would be around. If he does not return before his flute disintegrates then he will be stuck in that year. Very stressful for him. My question is " When the two flutes disintegrates and LR is dead, LG will remain in that world whether KOC or ROK, he would not be able to return to the other universe. He would be stuck in ROK with JTE or in ROK separated forever and JY would be stuck in ROK with JTE and ES??? That is one theory. YoYo boy is the flute. He will be whole but the flute would not be in the possession of LG and future kings and it will be somewhere hidden forever.
However LG calculates he will be in the in-between world for a few days but 4 months away from the real world so he should return 4 months after leaving to rescue Young LG. KOC should be panicking a missing LG as someone commented earlier. LG would not be smelly as he was away only a few days in the in-between world but 4 months in the real world. Few days would not make LG smell that badly

BUT WAIT what about the time when JTE and the detectives interviewed the arrested LR. It has to be at a later date right, since it has not yet happened in 2020 but then LR is already killed by his younger self ????? Two episodes left, how do they answer these mysteries???

I don't mind Jang Mi. He is for comedy and he is an additional person to the team. He does not have his own scenes like SJ, or Li Hun's mom or PM. So he is not taking time from LG or other characters so I am fine with him in the drama for comedic and PPL and a useful help to the team. He does all the dirty work with no complaints.

If we are talking about unnecessary characters, unless they do something in the next few episodes that greatly impacts the plot, there are my personal rankings of the most unnecessary (please don't be offended, if you're a fan of any of these characters):
1. Jangmi
2. Nari and her doppelganger
3. Ji-Hun's mom
4. the PM
Nari is to be the girlfriend of JY and ES. Jang Mi , they need more detectives.
Ji Hun's mom, PM and SJ .So far they have not seem to meet a purpose. SJ seems to be there as competition for JTE but apart from that, I don't see that he has an important role to have that many scenes, especially saving his mom from gambling and scenes with his psychologist. Could have cut many of his scenes but perhaps the next 3 episodes will reveal his significance. As for PM, competition for LG and we need a PM so may as well have a pretty and ambitious woman instead of a conniving man. Ji Hun's mom no idea since LG is not even interested in meeting her.

I have two questions if anyone can give a good explanation
LG does not like to be touched yet he puts his arms around fellow rowers shoulders after they won the race
He hugs JTE and then when she wants his fingerprints he claims he cannot be touched. Why should JTE believe him when he hugged her so tight a couple of hours earlier.
Second question - ES seems to be a normal healthy man so why is he not a soldier in Military Service but works in Civil Service instead, was it ever explained in the drama or somewhere else?

I really hope we get another season at least! If this season ends with LR being vanquished but not dead, he can come back again.

I think it was in episode 1 when little LG said that he was awakened by the sound of a flute. I had asked that question, how could he hear the flute when he was not even near it or holding it. The flute is guiding him even to the portal, he heard the sound of the flute. He had the flute with him then but not when he was little and his father was still alive.

LG has the two pieces of the flute and he has the power of eternity and infinity in his hands and can go back and forth with no problem or danger. LR is in his hands. He can behead him for treason or put him in prison forever, though beheading is safer, he cannot escape. In prison he could still escape. LG could go back to JTE and bring her back to KOC and they can travel back and forth any time they want. A win-win situation.
Why did LG say he did not want it? Instead , he decides to go back to night of treason when he might not succeed killing young LR and baby LG could still be killed by LR and LR might still escape. It is not a certainty that his plan would succeed. I think LG is taking a risk going back to night of treason. He might fail. Right now he has LR prisoner and the whole flute in his hands. A bird in hand is better than two in a bush. For a smart man, I think he is making a bad decision. Who disagrees with me??? Who agrees??
