Like you said, HE IS ALWAYS A GOOD ACTOR! Most problems I see people having with him is more directed towards the character he plays but somehow, they can’t distinguish the character from the actor so they blame the actor for not making the character lovable. Blame the writer, not the actor. He can only do so much with what he was given. Yes, I’m referring to Kim Tan. Lmh’s only “fault” was playing a role that cause polarizing views. Until today, people associate him with that character and hence all the negative comments about how he’s playing another rich role in TKEM. Btw, I can proudly say, NOTHING ALIKE!

LMH takes the cake of being Black and White without the need of a doppleganger , like He is still THE DARK KING without being a Jekyl-Hyde situation.
Lmh owns the king’s role flawlessly and is able to portray the many sides of him. On one end, we have romantic LG, on the other end, we have dark and merciless LG and in the middle, we have a king who carries himself with composure. Lmh nailed it!
Totally agree that LMH nailed it. As @Rotua Geofaniit's like this Lee Gon character is really tailor-made for him, don't you think?

Elsewhere, I have not found a forum or blog where TKEM is not the most commented, even those with negative views like DB & Koala. Reddit used to have weekly TKEM threads for the 2 episodes averaging with 700++ comments. But starting with episode 7, they had to do it PER episode already cos the comments are now ranging from 800 - 1.5K per episode. Crazy flop indeed, haha
The drama with the highest # of threads belongs to LMH's Faith. You can check it out. I don't think its record has been beaten.

I am thinking more like donnie yen type of things. If its inspirational then it has to be an spectacle if not it can be risky backlash from his fans. He lives in a scrutinized world so the scripts mostly have to be spectacles and high entertainment value
@Heretorant You are correct, there are some family, inspirational, drama like movies that were huge hits, something that tugs at the heart for Koreans. War with N and S Korea. There were some huge hits. He has to choose better.

My LMH sighting in LA.
I had won two tickets to attend the LMH Toyota Corolla fan meet. I finally decided to fly to LA as I found someone from a forum who was excited to go and I could stay with her in LA. I stayed with her. She was a blast and found out about LMH’s airport arrival so we decided to go. That was not my original plan. There was a small crowd there waiting for him. I saw him walking along the long walkway towards the lobby, and I walked towards the section where he would exit. I stood in a position where I thought I would get a good view. He wore his City Hunter cap. His face looked so small and I could not recognize that it was him. He was a distance walking towards us. He looked like a little boy, so young, that was my impression. He did not wave or smile as he walked down the walkway, not realizing anyone was there to greet him. As he walked towards the lobby, he seemed to realize there was a crowd for him and he had only one travel partner with him. He seemed to panic as he stopped short and changed direction as fans walked closer to him, like to find an escape route
but there was none really. Someone walked in the out of bounds area where he stopped and gave him a card. Then suddenly everyone else swooped towards him and as he walked to the car, the crowd was like a swamp of bees around him and blocking my view of him. My friend was one of them and did get in front of him and took some pictures. I think I still have them. I stood at a distance. Someone shouted Saranghe and I heard him reply Thank you. As he got to the car, I could see him go in and then wave and smile. Some in our forum gave other views, that he giggled and he told his travel partner not to worry or that he smiled at his fans I could not see or hear that. All in all I could not get a close look at him at the airport. He seemed awfully young in the distance.
The night at the Toyota meet, I was expecting a meet like the Bench meet where he would sit and we could go up one by one to shake his hands and get a poster with his signature or something like that but he went on stage instead and there was a Q & A with the MC. It was in a theater in LA. It had yellow stage lights and the theater was dark. He came in from the back and walked along the aisle so fans could see him as he walked by. I was near the aisle and he was inches away from me as he walked past. One of the things I wanted to do was to see if he had beautiful skin like others had said. But the lighting was a bad yellow or white spotlight in a dark venue so I could not tell. He was so close so I put out my hand to shake but he took another person’s hand. Oh well, it wasn’t really a biggie. Later I went down closer to the stage. He was wearing a grey shiny sort of suit which I did not really like the shiny suit. No tie, I think. I did not like his hairstyle that night. One of his worst, like a bad hair day.
So he did not look as great as I would like. I am not very short so when he passed, he did not feel that tall to me since I live in the US and men are kind of taller here. He responded to the MC in Korean and there was a translator. He did say I love you and made a heart for us. He is really sweet. There was a lucky draw and 20 people got up to the stage to shake his hand and get a signed poster from him. My friend was one of the lucky ones. She was in 7th heaven. I really wished that it was the Bench sort of fan meet and not a staged theater version with all the stage lights. It does not do him justice. Fans were screaming and cheering. Enjoyed the chance to see him in person and worth the trip to LA.
@HeretorantL ee Min Ho’s power is no joke. He has the least amount of posts but is the second most followed korean actor. And let’s make that 15.2M with 144 posts. He gained 200k in the past 3 days. I love Lee Jong Suk but I wouldn’t mind seeing lmh take number 1.
LJS is # 1? I have nothing against him but I am surprised he is #1 Instagram. I thought there were more popular ones than LJS.

I watched Get Up on YouTube a long time ago. No subtitles though but I did like it. It was a coming of age with a either black or native boy. Did you happen to watch it with subtitles? I need one with subtitles. If there are subs, can you also send me a link? I saw it in 6 parts on YouTube. If you have a whole movie, please also send me link.
I have watched everything he did even Mackerel Run. I did like it even though directing was over the top. It could have been great if the director was better and not slapstick but it is vintage LMH and you see parts of his future potential . He was in Secret Campus, and Teacher Sam with Park Min Young. His first drama with PMY. He is not the lead though. Even then they joke about his handsome face. He has students fawning over his handsome face but not PMY though. She likes her teacher. In Secret campus and Mackerel Run Park Boh Yong was there. They worked in two dramas together. In both she had a crush on him.
@AgentQuakeA lot of people have complained that they have no idea why JTE and LG even like each other - so an episode like this NEEDED to happen. I don't see anyone complaining about them anymore, rather, the top posts on Tumblr for the kdrama tag are the rescue scene, neck kiss, and even previous JTE/LG moments.
Someone in this forum said that it takes a guy 8 seconds to fall in love. Seems to have found statistics from somewhere. You have heard of love at first sight. It is not a new thing. He had this photo for 25 years then he suddenly saw her coming out of nowhere in his fantastical journey. The woman from his past. He fell immediately in love. Even her initial nastiness would not phase him. He is intelligent. He should expect that she would not just believe him even though he hopes she would. Makes his respect her more.
When this charming, man from nowhere comes and professes his admiration for you, even though you suspect his sanity, it is hard to be oblivious to it. As her investigations show that she can't disprove all that he told her. The money is real. It has his face. His diamonds are real. His horse is non-existent in SK. He has no ID in SK. He may be telling the truth perhaps? You are intrigued. You start missing his presence. He wants you, a not so pretty detective to be his queen. Whose head will not be turned?
Then you go to his world and see he says he is who he is, it is easy for her to fall in love. Every woman secretly wants their prince charming, no? It is easy to fall in love. When he considers you pretty in his eyes. How can you resist. I am not saying JTE is not pretty but she herself does, when she berates her father about not having money for a double-eyelid so she thinks she needed improvement then. But LG loves her the way she is. No need for any double-eyelids.

So I think they are keeping these things from one another because both facts imply something sad which they don't want to let each other know of. LG doesn't want JTE to know about the time stops because she will also realize that the world crossing has to stop at some point. JTE probably doesn't want LG to know about the encounter with future JG because then LG would realize that in this present timeline at least, they don't get their happy ending.
LG did tell JTE about time stopping. She is aware of it. I remember him telling her sometime, not sure exactly when though.

At times it pays to reply to those confused about the drama cos then they appreciate the details & care that the production has given the show. Many may not like TKEM, but it is still the most commented show on their blog. Very high profile compared to other shows they are recapping.
Today, a number of them admitted that most of them joke about not liking it but they still watch cos they actually like it. TKEM is their guilty pleasure - just too proud to admit it.
But Dramabens have gone downhill since the departure of GirlFriday & JavaBeans. Not the same anymore.
I checked DB recently on Episode 10. Throughout the recap, I saw that they tried to mention LMH as little as possible, like he is not the main lead. The thing that was positive was SJ's scene. I saw a couple of their earlier reviews a few weeks back, they were very positive on SJ and his scenes. Comments a few positive ones on LMH but mostly derogatory or they ignore him altogether. I remember, one person says that he always cries the same way, clutching his chest. I remember GJP in BOF doing that and perhaps LBS, not too sure. The only scene in King where LG broke down and cried was in the kitchen. The others were just tears running down his face as in the kiss and at the church or just red eyes, brimming with tears. I watched the kitchen scene again and he definitely did not clutch his chest. He sank down to the floor exhausted but no clutching of his chest so either she did not watch properly or just had to say something negative of his acting. Nothing about his fight with LR and his angry outburst against LR. Actually they made fun of the dramatic moment. Overly dramatic, scene and music. Okay, don't all movies do stuff similar to that? Even American movies.
They love WDH though and the SJ actor.

When LG was running after the White Rabbit around the stables, there was no time freeze. He had not crossed the portal. His first time freeze was when in was in SK, the first time. I think when he was with JTE and she was tying her hair. He said he saw something beautiful.

How long do actors usually take breaks in between projects? I am a fan of both LMH and KGE, and I think I will miss watching them on screen after this. I know KGE has a movie next and does more movies, but for LMH does he usually take long breaks?Unfortunately he does

I think it hints at that, why would LG go back to the past if he could meet Jte in the present as he has always done? She realized when she saw him that this was not the LG that she has met before, something is different so she takes a step back, guess she is shocked. Then she sobs uncontrollably after he disappears, further confirming that he is not present day LG. She knows that someone from the future with her ID went back to the past to save LG as a child, she may not know if savior is LG himself but she knows it is possible to go back in time. She is sharp enough to realize perhaps she did not survive that is why he has to go back in time to see her, give her flowers and tell her that he truly and deeply loves her. He did not do it before her future self died so he went back in time to tell her so. He said he will see her again even though it might take awhile so perhaps LG is still figuring a way to save her before she dies? Just my speculation

I don't think the King knows about Lady Noh, she never let on and she came before he was born.

You mentioned that MCs of variety shows are respecting him very much, what do they say about him? He does very little variety shows, why? People will see him more and love this humble and dorky ways. Il Woo promotes him though. LOL
China will be a huge market for him and Chinese movies could be a greater success than Hollywood since he is liked in China and not so well known in the US so distribution will be wider. He is being recognized in India, Middle East, South America. New markets for him apart from South East Asia where he is already very popular. The problem is there is still a Hallyu ban in China so he won't be able to take advantage of that market. Sigh!
How can he leave the set when she is there.. there is big demand for 2nd second season.
He can just do King for Netflix and not SBS so he does not need to worry about ratings then??? I don't think SBS will show King again due to low ratings. Positive side, less PPL and they can concentrate on story instead. LOL!

This is one of my favorite scenes. It’s beautiful, deep and poignant. My interpretation: in this moment, he knows his time left with her will be short lived. Similar to what JTE experienced at the end of episode 10, I believe this was a moment of awakening for him. They’ve always known they must restore balance and close the gates but they’ve both buried their feelings about their inevitable separation and chose to live in the moment. As time stops right before his eyes yet another time though, he knew it was his duty to prevent it from stopping forever. He needs to close the gates. He cries because it hurts. If they are separated by worlds, I assume the pain they’d feel is the same as the pain we feel when someone we love passes away. We have to remember that being separated by worlds means they can no longer contact each other. Their relationship is long distance but 100x worse than that. No, they cannot call each other on the phone and no, they cannot write to each other through mail or the internet. He understands this all too well so he cries because it pains him to know she will be “gone” forever one day, very soon.
What makes this scene even more heart breaking is the coincidence of him realizing that as they are ready to take a photo. This photo will later be the only thing that he has left of her, to remind him of their time together and to remind him that she is real. Yes, it may have been a coincidence but now, this photo is his way of holding onto her.
And I can’t pay appreciation to the beauty of this scene without speaking about lmh and his phenomenal performance. You can just see he’s trying hard to hold back his tears and he’s nearly shaking as he fails to stop himself from crying. He portrayed LG’s hidden suffering flawlessly as he went from crying to recollecting himself to faking a smile in front of the camera. The way lmh portrayed LG here has so many layers. He made me cry with LG. I feel his deep suffering and it pains me to see him put up a front. I’m a sucker for characters like LG, the type that suffers silently. I feel the feels for him. I want to hug him.

The question is why because they tracked it and knew how massive the ''Take off'' was gonna be and what they mostly look for is the ''Take off'' both in Tv-shows and Movies. What dose it mean having major take off it means massive trending on social media and it's hot topic all over the world and by this indiction they will know that the take off is gonna be massive and once the take off is massive the Tv-show succeeds by default and same with movies the opening weekend is the most important thing once the opening weekend is massive then it will grab the remaining cash slowly but surely. Mostly they can tell whether a show or movie is gonna flop by only it's take off.
In TKEM case it had the typical massive International take-off for Tv-show as you mentioned it come out with major hype and made alot of noise online not only on Twitter but also in Weibo as it was trending #2 and I remember mentioning this before the week after it aired and I recall saying that this is already a major success and I was going by it's ridiculously massive take-off.
Aside from it's take-off it has been blowing up on Netflix and dominating 20-22 markets and if you add up these markets subscriber base they reach around 40MIO subs on netflix and constantly been dominating these markets sitting 1 or 2 in most and in other areas constantly in top 10 for the last 4 weeks consistently and if you add up the rest such as the US, Latin A, or EU viewers on top of these then it increases further plus its 16 episodes that air twice a week 2 episodes and then you gotta multiple that with 16 while on the short ultra conversative forecast it could land on 50mio views for it's first 4 weeks and that's ultra conversative but in more realistic forecast that is mid-range it would land on 70mio views for it's first 4-6 weeks and probably end up at somewhere in the 80-90 mio views around october-september making it easy into the top 10 Tv-show in 2020. It's run was unique and another question to raise Is this KES' biggest hit ever Internationally I would say definitely and by a large margin and LMH's second biggest.

If King gets to the top 10 TV shows for 2020, will it be the first South Korean drama to reach this marker or have there been others in the past?

Let’s observe the kiss, shall we? Here’s my 10 part series after I’ve watched it for about 100 times.
1) He kisses her neck. It’s not just a peck, he licks her neck. He’s saying “I want you.”
2) She’s taken aback. Pay attention to the way she moves her mouth and body. It’s so sensual.
3) He eases in with a peck.4) The look on his face says it all. He wants her badly!
5) The way she looks at him says she’s nervous but knows what’s coming. Like, “oh shiz, I teased him and now he’s going for it.”6) He’s staring mostly at her lips when he’s speaking to her.

SEXUAL TENSION AT ITS BEST! From a minoz’s point of view, this is the best and most sensual kiss he’s done. It tops even the lobster kiss. The lobster kiss was sweet but this one has sexual tension written all over it. I’ve never seen a Korean drama couple that’s rather innocent had this much sexual chemistry! It’s out of the sbs korean drama world. I can’t get enough!After reading this, I watched the bed scene for a few times and also the gifs. I have to agree with you. It did not show much but it was enough for sensual kiss
I was laughing when he turned away as JTE pushed back the top of her shirt for him to look at her shoulder. He berated her and she said "What's the issue? You see that much is summer when I am in a sleeveless tee shirt

If city hunter yoon sung can start liking a girl and kiss her randomly in the pub because he got the photo from someone else then I don't see why can't he start liking JTE since the first real encounter.
So he did not look as great as I would like. I am not very short so when he passed, he did not feel that tall to me since I live in the US and men are kind of taller here. He responded to the MC in Korean and there was a translator. He did say I love you and made a heart for us. He is really sweet. There was a lucky draw and 20 people got up to the stage to shake his hand and get a signed poster from him. My friend was one of the lucky ones. She was in 7th heaven. I really wished that it was the Bench sort of fan meet and not a staged theater version with all the stage lights. It does not do him justice. Fans were screaming and cheering. Enjoyed the chance to see him in person and worth the trip to LA.
The kiss in Personal Taste looks like he is just touching the back of her neck with his lips... This kiss, you can see his jaw move sensually kissing her neck (maybe even a quick little lick!)

This is cute, review by two men (Filipino I think) They think show is awesome, one of them just loves the LMH on horse rescue scene. Even a guy can be excited by LMH on a horse rescuing his damsel in distress.
