I know this was discussed on page 478 (with photos of the actual site ) but since I am new on here, please forgive me if this sounds repetitious.  @charray @ann-tole @nightskye and anyone else with plans of visiting LA, include this in your to-go sites to visit.  SYJ apparently visits Los Angeles often as she has people very close to her living here.  LAX, the international gateway to LA is a hub of KAL (preferred airline of our beloved couple) . In KTown there is also a branch of the chicken house featured in CLOY  and there is a huge poster at the door. 

 

Lastly, I want to express my thanks to everyone who contribute in making this forum a happy go-to place.  We are very fortunate to ship not only perfect made for each other beautiful people but also a couple who seem to be the most kind hearted  and loving human beings.  We all know how much we need that positive energy these days.

Is there also a resto called Moodaepo around the area? I think she also mentioned it in an old interview as her ideal place to go on dates (or something to that effect im not sure of the accuracy of the translation)... SYJ is probably an  honorary resident of LA with her frequent visits. she knows the area well so she probably took HB for a walking tour... now it makes me wonder why she felt embarassed speaking in English at Baeksang.. really adorbs that cutie...

HB has been to LA before in the past. He doesn't need no tour lol. Yes he does have friends there too but still lol. You don't randomly decide to meet up

Yea it was mentioned that he probably met his senior military friend and someone said his family was also in LA or they have a place in LA? Who knows  They are both private on their personal life. I just know he has gone to LA before when I looked back on his previous years in the HB thread. He went on "vacation" too then.

 

Anyways, this is my favorite moment from SITR. Wish we got a longer version of her doing this on CLOY too

Moodaepo is a hip KBBQ restaurant at the heart of Koreatown, Los Angeles.  It’s really a fun place that plays loud music while people grill their BBQ.

 

Regarding the legendary grocery rendezvous, there seemed to be ingredients/items in the pushcart that needed some cooking, which begs the question, why would people on vacation from thousands of miles away cook, unless they’re staying in a vacation house/airbnb where there’s a kitchen?  When I’m visiting another country, I usually try the best restaurants around the area, which is more convenient.  The only time I would cook is if I’m staying in an Airbnb, and if I’m  staying there with other people.  If I’m travelling alone, then it wouldn’t make sense for me to stay in an Airbnb by myself.  I’m just gonna stay in a hotel or at a friend’s house.  Also, LA has no shortage of good restaurants or bars for people to meet up and maintain anonymity .... This leads me to the conclusion that. . .  Chom. . .  Chom . . . Chom...

It’s been over a week since SYJ’s tornado of IG Likes of the BJ photos at Baeksang. These IG posts say that they show SYJ Liked at least 19 IG postings, some of which carried captions of “Are you dating?” or similar. For me, her Like on that Korean posting which had the dating caption was MORE than enough for me, let alone 19! Feeling thoroughly content at the moment..

 

 

For those who have not read through earlier pages of this thread, the significance of this moment, of this InstaLike storm, may be lost. Let me offer my "refresher": SYJ stands out not only in her acting talent, accomplishments and heavenly beauty but also in having maintained a squeaky-clean reputation for 20 years in the cutthroat industry of K-ent where if you are a top female celeb and you sneeze, media will climb all over it in a frenzy and end up with a crazed theory that says you slept with a man, he gave the flu to you and you have a secret child with him. That kind of crazy. Hence, remaining un-associated with any love interest in this kind of environment, is a feat of no small talent. SYJ has achieved that. She is like a precious oyster clasping onto the pearl of privacy, guarding it with her life and has built the Great Wall around it. No wrong moves, no signs, no misplaced hints by her about having a BF in the past 20 years. She is THAT careful. When rumours with co-stars previously surfaced (and shockingly only twice), she quickly killed them off by expressly denying those relationships full on. Nothing unequivocal about her action there. Given this backdrop, you can see why her recent InstaLikes of BJ photos is a big deal. It’s like her wink, her tacit nod to us that BJ are a couple!

 

It’s wonderful how fans have generally been shipping respectfully and I hope this will provide the reassurance to BJ that their cherished relationship will not be treated as trashy, gossip fodder but an event of joy for everyone.  This thread is for those who love and admire BinJin equally.

 

However, reading through recent pages, I can’t help but notice that some shippers don’t look up to BinJin equally. Some post glowing pieces on SYJ (she is undisputedly worthy of admiration) but are the same ones to post un-flattering pieces on HB, although dressed up as  “funny” posts. I didn’t know HB nor SYJ before CLoY, so I’ve no vested interest in promoting one over the other but this lopsided treatment of BJ is troubling. HB has already said he has a low tolerance for alcohol. That’s a big admission in a society where men being able to drink is the macho-norm and HB should be respected for his honesty. Looking flushed and being drunk are not nec the same. In any case, what’s so funny or flattering about posts/photos of HB allegedly being “drunk”? As we demand respect for SYJ, we ought to do likewise for HB, right?

 

Looking forward to having more varied voices in this thread, to avoid this forum morphing into a private chat group. Nothing like the wisdom of the crowd and the thrill of different (but true shipping) views!

Yes, there is. There's two of them, I believe. It's a good restaurant, their food and bar selection is great. It's AYCE KBBQ. I live in LA too and familiar with Koreatown.

HB has much broader shoulders so anything SYJ wears of his would overwhelm her. The blazer she wears is actually pretty well cut for her - she wears a similar one during the cast and crew trip for SITR.

For what it’s worth, I’ve never read anywhere that SYJ’s sister lives in LA (or the States). It seems perfectly plausible to me that she was visiting her close friend who she has mentioned several times before as living in LA

I watched MNIKSS sometime after SITR. So when that karaoke moment happened I remembered being like oh those two moments can go together lol. Trying to imagine them doing that in real life lol

I believe Sophia’s mom is just Ye Jin’s close friend. Ye Jin has nephew/s from her sister. She posted them before ages ago. So I believe her nephew/s is/are already in middle school or highschool now. Maybe she posted the souvenir to confirm that she indeed visited a friend in LA.

This one...I seriously have a big question mark related to this..

I mean their sightings in LA on 10th January created a huge uproar in Korea. So much so that News stations dissected it and ultimately came the First OFFICIAL denial.. However I m not sure whether they were being gutsy or nonchalant related to the reception back in their country..that they still decided to MEET spontaneously.. (according to their statement )..

In a normal scenario any normal person would rather lie low after such a debacle.Whereas on top of that ,HB and YJ are celebrities who most of the time highly guard their privacy and wow..they go for grocery shopping..

Also, not to forget YJ has successfully managed such situations in the past that's why she has no previous record.. For the usual YJ it is so unlikely to catch up casually with that certain person with whom she had a rumour just a week ago shaking entire k-ent..

During this post-CLOY drought we learnt that she is not a fan of fuelling any rumours and can totally go into incognito mode. She could have easily done that then.I mean why would she take the risk of being spotted with HB after the earlier sighting rumours.But loll!!  meeting her CLOSE FRIEND was  the most important thing back then even though they were working (promoting) together just 2-3 months ago ....(After Nego..she attended Rampant premiere as well.. Didn't they get to meet up back then.)

 

In SYJ's thread..people said that she always posts pics from her bday.. But that year was an exception. I mean although their agency denied on 10th..she could have easily quashed all the rumours by posting a bday pic with her supposed other acquaintances. She showed that she is not bothered after the grocery sighting and posted  that pic near ralphs on 26th Jan . Similarly she could have done the same thing  for her bday on 11th Jan. But I guess she was busy celebrating with a certain someone whom she can't name..

 

HB's agency said that he went for post drama and other business related work but he was seen all alone at the airport pushing all the luggages. Isn't your manager supposed to accompany you??

Everytime I think about these points from various angles, I always come to the same conclusion that they didn't meet coincidentally..They were together for the entire time.. But they got busted and came out with probable reasons just like how YSR was making new scenarios when Paparazzi caught them hugging in the hospital..

Nice!! I love all this 2nd and triple confirmations of Binjin grocery shopping rendezvous! I've read/ heard the same thing, that there was indeed an older couple with them but didn't read about the child. Might be the little girl "Sophie"? As for sighting of the parents in LA, the agency said they were in Korea. So it might really be another older friends of SYJ or HB. But most important is that they spent time together in LA.

 

@BJHope  It's still heart fluttering to see  again the Insta-likes by YJ. It just gives that extra "OOMPH" to this shipper heart. And yes, let's be respectful and appreciative of both SYJ and HB here. Both of them deserves equal treatment and love from Binjin shippers.
