Tbh, there is a good question which I also like to know the answer here. Since when does the words "do u wanna eat ramen?" have such a connotation meaning? Can it be meant as it is? We know that most kdramas teach us this phrase with its reference to romantic meaning. Anyone can answer this?

It's originally from a movie from 2001 called One Fine Spring Day; the female lead wants to invite the male lead to spend the night with her but she isn't sure how to ask that, so she first asks him to eat some ramen before he goes home. Apparently she gets around to asking him to sleep with her when she's making the ramen. Since that movie, the connotation became part of popular culture. I found that answer when I looked it up after being made aware of the meaning here, from these sites:

They will not kiss after the hug in the preview tomorrow but he will escort her to home and kiss her in the car as in the webtoon??

No complaint. Either way, we just need the two of them to KISS.

I really don't mind if she initiates the kiss after hopelessly waiting for him to

Me too. Just kiss him, KMS. This is not the time when you have to wait for a guy to kiss first. LOL

That's one of the rule in dramaland.

Hope they don't fool us by turning it into comedy again. Once is good twice is quite repetitive! Lol

I agree chingu @stargazer187. They shouldn't fool us because this will make a lot of us disappointed because it would be pointless and cause more grief than necessary.

I just can't wait to go home to watch it with subs. I only saw it raw.

YoungJoon and MiSo in "The Classic" Rain Scene Parody

Famous Sweet Rain Scene In 2003 Movie "The Classic"   Starring  Jo InSung and Son YeJin

(This scene has been parodied in dramas and movies)

Song : Me To You, You To Me ( I to You, You To Me)

Artist : Scenery of Riding Bicycle (Biker Landscape)

Spoiler

English Translation

I hope that, to you, I will become
A perfect piece of memory like a sunset,
And will remain without regrets like a picture
Oh that reminds you of our precious green days

To me, you became the one ray of sunshine
That lit up my lonely hours gone by,
And became the promise of eternity
That glitters like a jewel upon your small white palm.

I hope that, to you, I will become
A perfect piece of memory like a sunset,
And will remain without regrets like a picture
Oh that reminds you of our precious green days

To me, you remain in my small heart
As a sad graduation song.
I want to become the countless stars
That glistened in your pretty eyes and shine forever.

I hope that, to you, I will become
A perfect piece of memory like a sunset,
And will remain without regrets like a picture
Oh that reminds you of our precious green days

I hope that, to you, I will become
A perfect piece of memory like a sunset,
And will remain without regrets like a picture
Oh that reminds you of our precious green days

The way the older brother was acting as well was a big giveaway to me and hopefully to Mi So as well. He seemed positively gleeful not just to meet her but to go over the details of their kidnapping. People who have been through traumatic events are more serious and sober around the issue - I have watched loads of documentaries and dramas and even current drama Come and hug me deals with trauma in the past-such individuals have nightmares and so on as SY does but they are hesitant to go back to the site of their pain and nervous when talking about it and so on.

But SY was loving it- I bet it wasn't even talking to Mi So but learning all about "his past" like it is a novel he is writing. He wanted all the gory details so he could salivate over it and put it into his memories. That is why I am afraid of the book Mi So gave him-he will learn details and tell her them and she will be mislead(hopefully for a nanosecond) that he was the one there with her when she doubts his story. I hope she has memorised that book but left out some details such as the caramels so she can pick up the trail and learn it was YJ all along.

And the way SY was talking about her being his girlfriend and being fated....Who wants to be fated from a kidnapping? It is so dark but he is revelling in the opportunity to talk about their trauma. They have literally spent all of few hours...less than an hour...while talking about the kidnapping with no sparks and chemistry happening-Mi So was sooo uncomfortable and he thinks they are in a romance? I suppose that is his career-talking about once in a lifetime romances and being the knight in shining armour but he is really not seeing Mi So and her feelings at all.

I hope the mother hints-I know she loves both her sons but she strikes me as a savvy operator. I think she will know that SY will only use Mi So to further his own agenda against his brother and cause her to throw Mi So a few breadcrumbs as she can't admit just yet how sick her oldest son is.

He builds a playground in the place where both of them lost part of their childhood , he gives her an opportunity to be the top secretary with skills that if she ever applies again anywhere , she would be #1 , he loved , respected and supported himself alone all these years - imagine a child being touted and implicated in kidnapping by his brother and his school buddies in grade 4, and  his only  ray of sunshine Mi So . If this man is narcissistic , then i am changing the definition in the dictionary . :star:

I am practicing patience and savouring  every episode ... LOL :innocent:

@haelan I pretty much agree with everything in your two most recent posts. :D I have come to accept that this show's story is not, nor will it be, the story that I want it to be. I accept that's it's pretty much a straight-up Kdrama rom-com love story with all the requisite tropes. I'm staying for PMY and PSJ and their amazing chemistry and acting chops, and anything beyond that is a bonus. :)

I was pleasantly surprised that they had Mi So explain why she felt so strongly for her oppa right after I commented about it (plus points for finding the most scenic bridge to have that conversation on!). I was also pleasantly surprised that Young Joon came to terms with his feelings rather quickly, and even more so that Mi So admitted to him that they had a "some," and that Young Joon admitted to her that he was jealous. I really love that they can speak with each other so directly about what they really think and feel (that was one thing I really loved in BTIOFL too). I also like that Mi So rejected him, although I did yell "and also you're his subordinate in a company that he owns, how is that ok?" at the screen when she told him her reasons for not dating him.  I also like, as you mentioned, that she's talking back (very reasonably, might I add) to Young Joon more. And what I love even more about it is that when it's about work she's still entirely professional; it's Young Joon who's mucking up work and personal matters together and being unprofessional (well he's been doing it since episode 1).:P

I also agree very much with you on PSJ's acting, I could really feel the aching longing. It's not exactly the same emotion, but I was reminded of when Mi So thought Young Joon was her oppa a couple of episodes ago, and how she was almost tearing up every time she looked at him. I thought PMY did that really well, like expressing this overflowing emotion that you're trying to rein in, the way Young Joon was in this episode. I think that's a big part of their chemistry, like as actors they can match what the other is giving, whether it's fighting or longing or loving.

Like many here I do look forward to them actually kissing, and I have a tiny (big?) wish for it: I hope Mi So actually kisses him back and not just stands there like a wooden block while the male actor does all of the kissing, like so many female leads are wont to do especially during the first kiss. (That wrist grab in the preview though...can people just please stop grabbing other people without permission? Smh.)

@uglypearl Thanks for the throwback video! The Classic was one of the first Korean movies that I ever watched (and I love that song!) and it was a long time ago, around the same time it was released then. I didn't remember that she was was running in heels in that scene! OMG.

YES-PSJ's acting was marvellous-his face was very pale and restrained all during the first half of the episode and also during the flashback all reflecting the strain of holding back the truth. You could feel his longing and pain at not being able to voice his true feelings and motivations to Mi So and it was soooo heartbreaking. So irritating to see it all in the subtle ticks of behaviour and that flashback how he has tried to hold it all together all of these years and how it can be so misconstrued either willingly like the resume(hiring the worst candidate UGGHHH) or unwillingly (him wanting almost unconsciously for Mi So to know him like he knew her at their first meeting and she saw that as part of the boss son persona he had). I just want them to get on the same wavelength soon!!!

From my reading of the comments of this drama, people who doesn't know the webtoon/novel, they do not feel that disappointed as much as the one who read the webtoon/novel when they didn't see the kiss as soon as we expected or when they didn't see the kind of skin ship that should happen after what scenes. It was not clear yet for them on the background also and who the actual Oppa is.

Aside from that, as many have said here that it would be better for KMS to fall in love with LYJ not because of their dark past in their childhood, but more to because who they are now. This will be a stronger foundation for their romantic relationship in the future.

Can't wait for tonight episode. I think we will have a real kiss, tonight. If not, I am joining the one of the groups in my country to make a protest to the TvN and writer-nim. LOL.

Big bang andromeda supernova sonic, this is the best classy laugh that the show gave in this episode! All the universe magnificent phenomenon in one call! Lol

And I love how he advises MS with the old burried gummy analogy. He is not just bragging about his cool dog here. Sigh.. until when this game over! Can he just tell her he's the real Oppa she's looking for? The show wants MS to recognizes him herself. I get it. But I'm getting impatient here.

Does the plot have this pull and push in the original webtoon? I mean I think I read it before that the webtoon isn't ended yet and there is a changing writer here, could the writer alter the plot to his/her own creation? Just curious tho. Because I start to feel a bit draggy in some scenes. Only me maybe ya. But overall it's still good.

The 9000 dollar umbrella scene is nice, I like the bgm too!! That is cheesy but it is indeed sweet. Umbrella scene is one of famous kdrama tropes. Lol. And it's done pretty sweet here.

hang in there, MS will find out the truth soon~!

not sure if you read the webtoon spoiler, the trauma is very traumatic even for adults to see it...so YJ is refraining from telling the truth to MS is becos he wants to "protect" her from remembering "what she saw" (not spider that MS thinks) and not get traumatised like him. YJ thinks he is strong man so he can hold everything to himself.  So we finally understand why YJ sent SMS to MS saying that she and his bro are two ppl who cant call him inconsiderate.

I think, when it comes to Kim Mi So, our Young Joon has been unprofessional since 9 years ago.  Don't you think? ROFL. But of course, all is fair in love. *giggling*
