Although I agree with you and I know I shouldn't be sad as well (I am happy for the interaction we got from our couple), I feel like the CLOY team's efforts were not acknowledged by the Korean netizens. This drama was so unique in many aspects despite it has commonly used theme of love. The story telling, the old-school feeling that we don't see in recent dramas, strong supporting acting, actual relevance to real world problems... I can give more examples... It wasn't just a simple love story of the golden spoon elites from either side of Korea as some people claim. It had great depth and not only main leads but the whole team showed a great team work which is very unique among Korean dramas (they usually focus on main leads, other stories usually pushed side)..

Anyways, it happened..we can't changed the past.. But atleast with the help of great binjin nation, they got the popularity award and showed that they are aware of the love they get from us as a couple. So should I be hopeful for a new project for them together soon??

While I'm happy they won the popularity award, I am disappointed because I feel like CLOY deserved so much more. This is an unbiased opinion. I've been watching K-DRAMAS for a long time and yes I acknowledge the impact of When the Camelia Blooms in their country because of what the show was about. It was a heartwarming show. But seriously, CLOY deserved to win more than ONE MAJOR AWARD out of it's SEVEN NOMINATIONS. It's not as if the show was all fluff. It was a critically praised show BOTH IN KOREA AND THE WHOLE WORLD. BOTH I REPEAT. For how it presented North Korea, the acting, writing, directing PLUS reviving interest in korean shows. 

It's just so hard to reconcile that shows like My love from the Stars, Descendants of the Sun and Goblin were all recipients of Daesang yet CLOY wasn't. CLOY wasn't well loved in western countries which korean drama hasn't penetrated til CLOY for no reason. It was well received because it was HIGH QUALITY WORK. The fact that it only won 1 major award is CRAZY given it's impact not only in korea but worldwide.

CLOY : 1/7 awards

TWOTM: 2/4

Sorry but CLOY deserved more than just best supporting actress. If they didn't feel like it deserved daesang, then how could they not pick it for BEST DRAMA at the very least.I know you guys says just be happy but just like US awards shows, there are times when shows or films are robbed and this is 1 prime example. It feels like how LEONARDO DICAPRIO was nominated for a bajillion times but never really won until The Revenant in 2015. That's how it feels. And I think it's perfectly fine to feel this way.

Translation note: I find it so endearing that HB is addressing his thank you note from a "we" perspective in Korean, referring to themselves as one entity. It's really more of a couple award than a fan-voted popularity award. Isn't it obvious when the organiser chose to let them take the award photo together with 1 trophy rather than 2 when they both received their personal award actually?

 

No matter the results, I'm sure both of them took the extra effort to show up and attend today's ceremony to specially thank their fans. Given how they have practically rejected all kinds of exposure and publicity post-CLOY, I'm just really thankful for this chance to see them being happy together.

and there are like a zillion korean shows of Netflix and most of them are VERY VERY good but yet it's CLOY which is trending everywhere even now which is CRAZY not just for Korea but I haven't seen any drama or film to get this much popularity hype or reach which CLOY did 

The boost it did to Korean entertainment industry globally is even bigger than parasite and that itself is a huge compliment

I m so glad son ye jin thanked the writer by taking her name and Hyun bin mentioned what CLOY is for him with powerful adjectives 

THEY KNEW THESE AWARDS IS FOR CLOY ......and audience awards are heavier than critics

I'm still sad, I even cried. This 56th Baeksang is so important to many fans, since it is their first together. We waited for this for so long, gone crazy over voting so we can secure the popularity awards for them. It's just that as a fan, we want them to be recognized as well for their hardwork for the drama CLOY. It makes me even sadder knowing that we might not get this chance again in the future 

 

But their message to their fans somehow ease my disappointment. I'll just focus on new binjin contents, at least we got pifan version 2.0!

CLARIFICATION: There are different translations out there and this is just my version... However, in the backstage interview, YJ uses what could be seen as a passive "we" or it could be an "I," but she doesn't make it clear so it can be seen as either. However, HB clearly uses the word, "we" during his part.

I watched many Kdramas but nothing can beat CLOY. I haven't watch WCB or SL so I don't know how good they are compared to CLOY.. I can't say I am not dissapointed by the results but  Yejin-shii said this tik tok award is more meaningful since it was given by fans and that at least mend my broken heart.. Baeksang or not,  CLOY will always be my forever No 1

But the thing is, I could not get rid of the thoughts that Hyun Bin was holding back too much, being awkward the whole dang time, but still off cam he stole glances and so did Son Ye Jin sshi. Lol, i'm trying to lift my own mood here, and hopefully yall too. Better them not nominated CLOY for any awards anymore because CLOY has NK issue, I mean, why need to nominated if you know from the beginning they can't win anything because that NK issue, totally joke , except them need support like this day, yeaa they give CLOY just for "supporting", and them get the support, totally win , other award can take this as example , but I'm done, don't want to waiting any other award for CLOY or binjin because them "can't" win it (NK issue), sorry for my thought.

Now I just pray for binjin happiness and wait for the wedding bells coming soon
