Still waiting for the recap and subs for today's episode...deep breaths...:persevere:

Thanks for informing us Soompiers of today's episode title, @SyH. That being said, the title of the second-last episode is "Were We Ever in Love"? Hasn't JS been asking herself and SJ this since Ep. 2, 3, 5, 7 or something? Why is the drama asking this now? WAE!!!!!!!!??????? :heartbreak:

It's already being said here, but I thought I'd say this again: One of the many things I'm thankful for being part of the Soompi community is that we can rant and commiserate together over the drama progression, sharing any conspiracy theories that assuage any of our dissapointment over said progression (thanks for reading our feedbacks and setting up the Conspiracy Theory poll, @triplem B)), and sharing (hilarious) rhetorical questions...such as the one posted by @partyon below:

It's D-Day people! Who's ready for the epic showdown?

...

Did YR push JS down the stairs?

Is JS pregnant?

Are the VP and SJ going to jail?

Will JS rip out YR's hair?

Will SJ dump YR and try to reconcile with JS?

Is JS having any of it or is she going to kick her husband in the ****?

Will SJ's facial impression ever change?

Who shot JR?

Stay tuned.... :D

Btw, sorry for cutting off the picture of D-Day, @partyon:sweatingbullets:

Back to the subject: Who's JR?!?!?!?!

If it's a mistypo for YR, then I could list some suspects:

  1. The VP's wife
  2. The VP's sister/chairwoman
  3. The VP (if his wife or family reveal a DNA/paternity test disproving YR's biological relations to the Ha family)
  4. SJ (ditto the VP)
  5. Director Bae (because...why not, what does he have to lose? -_-)

I'd rule out JS, since she has had several chances to publicly denounce YR (and SJ, for that matter) in front of the VIP team but she hadn't stoop down to that level.

I had that same feeling about the fall being at the end of episode 15. :tears: I also agree that leaving only 60 minutes to wrap this up with an acceptable ending is darn near impossible. I ended another drama last night and the solution was in the last 10 minutes and had a one year later scene.:( Please VIP writers don’t do this to us!

With that said, I “enjoyed” (and I know that’s not the correct word) this series because the suspense kept me coming back. We were warned! My emotions (and blood pressure) were all over the place. I said I would not rewatch this drama, but I don’t know how many times I have gone back and forth between previous episodes trying to find clues or something that I have missed.

At the beginning of the drama, I was definitely in the JS and SJ as a couple camp. Now, at the end I want JS (and myself) to find out why SJ did what he did, to find out who he really loves, and to have an acceptable closure to the story that does not include SJ and “that girl” being together.

Thank you to all who took part in my “therapy group”. I would probably be in the hospital right now (or my husband might have put me in a padded closet) if I had not had this outlet. We didn’t always agree, but seeing the story through someone else’s eyes did give me a different perspective. The various plots that some “Soompiers” developed were amazing and maybe better than the ending we get.

I wish everyone a “Very, Merry Christmas “ and a “Happy New Year”. Here’s hoping we meet again!

Here, here, @TXviewer. You couldn't have said it any better...^gives virtual hugs and cookies/cakes made with rainbows, smiles, and NOT any of your Christmas cookies ingredients (that's on "that girl" ).

Like you, I wouldn't have continued (re)watching VIP- and thus revisit the Soompi forums since last year- if it weren't for you and the rest of the lively Soompi community. So I'm thankful to be part of your "therapy group" (and the Soompi community), and hopefully your husband continues holding your hand as you (and us Soompiers/viewers) brave through this "tepid adultery/mistress" soap opera.

In case if I cannot visit the Soompi thread due to family gatherings tomorrow, I wish you a "Very Merry Christmas" and Happy New Year", and I hope to see you (and the Soompiers) again!

I have a question and I am not sure if it has been addressed, yet. When did SJ character switch to the dark side? Was it before dating JS or during their marriage? Why did he switch? Was he like this from the get go?

I take it back I have questions, questions, and moer questions.

So, is it just me or this series isn't as intense as we really thought it would be??! I expected more havoc from Jung Sun but nothing so far happened! I wonder if I regret watching this series! :(

But what if Park Sung Jun loses both Na Jung Sun & On Yu Ri at the end??! Then it would be the best punishment a cheating husband can ever have... Don't we need some relief like so??! Otherwise VIP would be just another mere private office melo to its viewers!

@smhelen

excellent question!
I wish they would provide some incite as to his going over to the dark side. Unfortunately, I don’t think we will get the answer.

I want JS to ditch him, but I want SJ to ditch YR. I don’t want to give YR the satisfaction of dumping SJ. She, in my opinion, plotted all along to break up the marriage. She took advantage of his vulnerability and swooped in for the kill. (Yes, I know....he should have gone home to his wife:unsure:

I am old . JR was that main guy in Dallas, a very old series. There was a big hype on who shot him, since most wanted him dead... then it turned out to be a minor character whose absence is of no consequence.

Now almost everyone wants YR charged with attempted murder, it turned out to be a drunk. Another JR type.

edit: I think ep 7-8 were the climax. Revealing the identity of the mistress.

I think it's a reference to an American tv show Dallas, from the the 80's. The popular character JR Ewing was killed (shot) at the end of a season. The whole next season was a whodunit because presumably everyone had motive to kill him. Back before the days of the internet everyone was water cooler talking about "Who shot JR?"

I think it may have all been because the actor was in contract negotiations that didn't go well for him. Spoiler - he proved by to be very popular, and then did join the show again the subsequent year, where the being shot and killed was explained as being all a "bad dream". I seem to remember that waking up from a dream may have been a shower scene.

I think I'm showing my age, though in my defense I was too young to watch the show at the time.

Now waiting for the subs for today's episode...ngl, though, I'm feeling LESS excited about the drama finale, judging by the posts/reactions to today's episode and the finale preview...:(

After saw the ep 15,

Yes there is no happy ending between our main couple

All i just hope,  is SJ reminiscing their old times and heartbreaking.

For the preview,  it seems like YR will break up with SJ.

And SJ discover something in the box,  it seems like a camera film roll.

Maybe it contains,  some sweet photos of our broken couple.

As for the ending, i want them to divorce,  but i just want to see, more scene about those old sweet moments

Exactly!

What will be truly satisfying is that even without JS in his life, SJ wud never go to YR. And I want him to make it clear to her that he just pity her, and never have stronger feelings for her, has no intention on keeping her in his life.... so her plan to mess with their marriage end up with nothing for except no one wants to associate themselves with her...eventually put her in tight situations  as someone with no qualifications & nobody wants to help her do her job

There are only 2 possible ending now.

I think Jung sun want to test sung jun whether he will accept her offer to divorce or keep their marriage alive and reconcile. Or you could say faith test

Either happy or sad ending.

Happy - jung sun reconcile with sung jun after clearing up all the mistake in their marriage.

He quit the vip team and do another job with jung sun keep her job and doing really well as new director.

They had kids and finally become a real family.

Or

Sad - they divorce, sung jun stop with yuri too ( i believe he had no feeling to her anymore ) , and then we go Misty path. He kill himself in the shame of his mistake.

The shame is just too much for him alone. All his dignity and trust will all gone.

Jung sun will not remarry and only able to remember the past with sung jun

Based on epi 15 recap and other comments,  it seems the twist is related to other characters and not the FL or ML? Omg, my heart is pounding and my brain is in shock and denial that this series really was just about an affair with a side story of work politics. The red herrings, misdirecrion, and mystery was all about revealing who the mistress was??!! That can't be the climax to this story. Please tell me it's not so!!! With only one episode left, it just doesn't seem that we'll get many answers to our overwhelming list of questions and satisfying closure.... I'm so sad and in desperate need of a tub of ice cream right about now..lol

Is VIP based on a novel? I would love to read his thoughts as he makes his decisions, to have an insight as to why and what could have possibly triggered someone who looked so upstanding to have made such a 180, and to hear the thoughts that run thru his head whenever he sees JS.

If anything at least give us a moment of stark visualization of SJ in utter breakdown and misery as it fully sinks in how much and what he lost. And to finally admit out loud,  that even if he's not worthy that he is still so in love with JS.

I don't see our heroine leaving in glory to become the CEO of another company or starts her own firm with the others.

So she now knows the life story of SJ and thinks he and YR suit each other. She gives him his divorce. So lame, how pathetic.

I don't understand why giving money to the mistress who btw has been funded by the VP for years will bring the VP to his knees.
Why is the focus on the tart?  We have so little time left to find a man for JS.  What use Is there for the team to work for the same company, YR gains if they work hard for the company and she gains if JS does not perform and is sacked.

OK I am patient. Tomorrow night.

Episodes 14 and 15, Wifey finally found out Hubs' dirty dealings and family background. She is shocked to the core and realized that the man she had spent her life with for 10 years is a complete stranger. If Hubs' can lied that much to the extend of lying about his own family background, is there any truth left anymore? Is the love also a lie? That's why the title is "Were We Ever In Love?". The reason why she gave up and told Hubs she wanted to end it.
