Truthfully, I don't think I will be satisfied with the ending, especially after all the angst while watching this drama. There is no way for someone such as JS (open & honest, trustworthy as well as trusting) to reconcile with SJ

I know there is a lot of ' give SJ what he wants, walk away, no bitterness',  but if somebody takes something that belongs to you, just walkaway? I would have to get it out of my system. If it means 'leaking' the photos to the press :glasses:, why not?

Anyway, I am looking at it from the POV that it is entertainment. So would it be entertaining to have JS meekly stop fighting after keeping us glued to this forum? Do I want to see more of SJ and YR hugging in front of JS? Maybe be arrested, but still in an objectionable relationship? Nope. I want to see JS go out in a blaze of glory and the cheaters crushed, the slimeball VP grovelling at his long suffering wife's feet and the other girls getting what they want. It does not matter if it is unrealistic. It is fiction.

edit: will have to look for that film.

I have only watched Madame X with Lana Turner.

NOTE: Just because I watch old films doesn't mean I'm old. I will forever be young at heart.

I loved Lana Turner in “Madam X”. Talk about crying ..OMG:bawling:

I want JS and SJ to reconcile but not reunite. I think the only way JS  can go forward is to understand why SJ did what he did. He stated earlier that he did what he did “for her” at first and later he did it for “himself”.
I don’t believe that he was evil from the start. It is something that happened because he wanted to prove he was good enough for JS. Then it snowballed and he discovered he was too far gone. It will not be until JS is hurt that he realizes what he has lost. I don’t think that she is pregnant. I think she will forgive SJ but will not return to SJ. She will be able to go on with her life. He will break up with YR. Or at least YR and SJ will not be together.

I don’t know if JS was pushed down the stairs. Doesn’t make any difference. It will be the catalyst that brings our story to a conclusion.

In ep 14, why did SJ turn cold toward YR? Was it because she was invited to the matchmaking event? He seems to turn cold and hot toward YR but when she cries, he goes soft.  In regards to Bae's firing, I went back to eps 13 and 14 but couldn't find any scene when he was fired by his boss. I very much want to watch that part.

Speaking of Lee Sang Yoon who I love. I watched the Master in the House episode from New Zealand last night. The boat/fishing part of the show was packed with wonderful Lee Sang Yoon moments.

His smile is precious & like a child LOL

being a versatile actor, he mentioned before that he would like to take up a character of a ‘villain’ ...

back to VIP, my guest for a simple ending (private office melo)

-JS fell and lost her memory, SJ taking care of JS until she recovers...few years later JS remembers everything & SJ has to leave, oh my

merry Christmas & thank you everyone for supporting VIP

WARNING! Long rant with zero coherence coming up!:sweatingbullets:

So guys, I was rewatching the earlier episodes (yes, I’m a masochist) and I came across a convo he had with YR in the car(ep.7). He clearly said that he wanted to end things for good and that he didn’t want his wife to find out about her because that would leave a lasting scar. This was after he found out that it was YR who send the message.

Shortly after this they have the auction event and SJ is still looking puppy-eyed at his wife but JS doesn’t give in. Later on, they have the incident with the thief and SJ gets hurt and that’s when he finally gives in and says that he’ll come clean to everything.

During the event YR is confined to backstage because of VP’s wife. YR, with the conversation in the car fresh on her mind, goes out to the dining hall and basically taunts the VP’s wife with her presence and that’s when the wife pours the wine over her. I feel like that was a calculated move and YR knew that she would get sympathy points from SJ(who saw the whole thing go down). This fool goes to her later when she texts him instead of his wife and she further plays poor-me-who-has-no one-but-you card and he falls for it. Later on is when he realises that there’s no coming back from his missteps so he goes and asks for divorce. And then breaks down in his car.

Up to this point, nothing screams ‘I’m in love with my mistress’ to me. He tried to stay with his wife and even after he asked for the divorce, he didn’t run back to YR like she thought he’d. She basically had to drag him by his feet to her side for him to go back to her. Even now when he’s with her, there’s coldness to their relationship and I’m sure YR feels that too.

YR really knows how to manipulate him though. She really played him like a violin but now that she has literally no more cards to play is when her true face will come out. She knows that he doesn’t really love her and now that he’s with her, she knows that he’s not with her in the way he was with JS. She knows that she’ll never take JS place and she’s frantically trying to do everything she can to erase JS from the equation.

That’s why she went to the roof and basically begged for JS to let him go. And that’s probably why she pushed her down the stairs(I really hope that it was her). She’s losing control of him now that she has no more cards to play and that’s driving her crazy side out.

I think the whole the thing will end with JS seeing her husband for what he really is and finally letting go of him. I don’t see her playing further role in the company politics as that was never really her thing. She’ll probably leave the company and start her own thing.

SJ will come face to face with the damage his uncontrolled greed did to his wife and he’ll either repent and sell out the VP or go down with him when his inferiority complex kicks in.

As for YR, she’ll probably continue to feel sorry for herself. I don’t think she’ll score a wealthy man to trap down if the affair comes out. She’ll forever be the disgraced daughter of Ha-family and that’ll probably drive her insane.

Well written chingu.

let’s watch again episode 14, did we hear what SJ told his mum?

Just read about the past history of Prince Charles & Princess Diana from Facebook & seems like VIP triangle love quite similar. Prince Charles cheated while still married to Diana but he kept Camilla Parker as his mistress, who was his first love. Charlies & Diana never loved each other but fate had it that Charles married Camilla after Diana's death. Slapping, bashing, cursing, hating & swearing will never resolve to forced one sided love to two sided love.  Needs more understanding to individual emotional feelings which is difficult to explain until one has similar experience.

It's just a Korean drama, no logic to severe bashings against the actors/actresses or their characters, who are acting according to written scripts. It's so hurtful to them to result in so much hate while Jang Nara receives huge compliments & support.  She should be a more supportive, loving & attentive wife to avoid her husband from going to another woman. It takes 2 to clap in a successful marriage.

At this point of the drama, taking revenge will never work out even if they reconcile, the scar is too great to heal & forget though can be forgiven.  JS should just let go of SJ and part as friends.

Truthfully, I don't think I will be satisfied with the ending, especially after all the angst while watching this drama. There is no way for someone such as JS (open & honest, trustworthy as well as trusting) to reconcile with SJ (secretive & dishonest, untrustworthy as well as distrustful).  I believe SJ has always been such (i.e., envious, dangerously ambitious, insecure...the like). JS with her love threw him a rope, a rope that could have saved him, but he chose to let go, all due to his insecurities & ambition to finally "be somebody."  He wanted to be respected, to leave his what he called "shameful & weak" past behind him. For a change he would be looked up to rather than looked down on. To accomplish that he followed the path of the VP. He fought those twinges of conscience - in those rare moments he was once again weak & shamed.

I sound like I'm on a high horse here, I know (sorry). I've enjoyed this drama, if only because it has kept my thoughts on a debatable level. One minute I argue for a reconciliation; the next I argue (with myself) against one. Thank goodness there is this thread where I can release "some" of my pent-up frustrations.  Anyone here remember Imitation of Life with Lana Turner? I wasn't born yet when he was filmed but it's one of those movies that really get you to thinking.

NOTE: Just because I watch old films doesn't mean I'm old. I will forever be young at heart.

Love "imitation of life"!  Sad poignant story.

Has the irony not been lost on everyone that SJ mom was a mistress who broke up a family and lived a life of regret and this character SJ works for a pig chaebol doing the same dirty work his mother experienced.  ......

I think it is exactly his background which made Park SJ sympathetic to mistresses, and sadly, the "best" person for this job.

His mother was berated by legal wife & family and lived in guilt and regret all her life. So PSJ grew up seeing that. That is also why he connected with YuRi. As he said, they didn't choose to be born like that but they had to suffer all the negative feelings since birth and feel they should not have been born.

How about this:

After JS falls down the stairs, she is rushed to the hospital, where she is treated for the pain attributed to her injuries by none other than Dr. John (Ji Sung)!

How about Soo-hyun Kim (my love from the star; afterall he did cameo in Hotel Del Luna recently )

So I just had an outlandish theory which can probably be discounted in so many ways but I wanted to try and redeem SJ...

What if SJ is working undercover for Sangwoo’s father. This is why Sangwoo can report in to him, ‘please be clear re status’ at children’s party and ‘I will give medicine’ without SJ getting irritated at his subordinate pulling rank and says honestly ‘he doesn’t know’ when Yuri asks SW likes JS.

SW likes JS, she protected him in first episode and he was blown away when she turned up on the motorbike.

However what I think really happens is SJ has had an affair, the scales fall from his eyes, as they do for JS as he isn’t the person she thought he was, and they all move on, and JS is happy in the future and SJ bumbles around regretting things.

So guys, while we've been waiting for the final two episodes of V.I.P., I've been pondering about the social message of this drama (not just the "cheating is not cool" part that we have all been obsessing about - lol :D ). I know a few of you have also spoken about this before on this thread. I hope I don't offend anyone by posting this. It is definitely not meant as criticism towards any country, culture or society.

In this drama, I personally feel quite sad to see how much women struggle in their work life and careers. This is for sure a global thing that a lot of women face in most countries of the world, so I think many people can relate to it.

I do find especially Mi Na's storyline quite lamentable. She really wants to get a promotion, and she goes as far as leaving her family and thinking about terminating a pregnancy. It is not wrong to like your work, and to have to choose between work and your family like that is very distressing. Even though her husband "supports" her in her decision, she still feels the need to resign and become a stay at home mom. Even though that's not what she wants. :( Even her child says that it would be embarrassing if his dad would be a stay at home dad.

I really really hope that Mi Na's husband gives her the chance to stay at work by going against social "norms" (if you will) and staying at home with their kids. I don't know what the daycare system is in South Korea, but the best thing would be of course that the government would support families so that both parents could work and neither parent would have to stay at home. Or at least that they could have the personal choice between staying at home or being at work.

I love that the women are sticking together in this drama (minus Yu Ri of course :D ), JS getting a promotion and that a woman became the CEO of the department store. Together we are stronger.

I had some wild idea about the last 2 episode.

It would be Sung Jun masterplan all along to take down the VP thats why he did all the dirty work to collect enough evidence to turn him down. And the affair with yuri was a mistake on his calculated plan and thus will bring him down to the plan B.

Sacrifice. He will sacrifice himself and i guess after jung sun fall down, she will be hospitalized and possibly in coma. And then sung jun will take on the divorce path so whatever happen to him will not bother jung sun.

He will finalize his relationship with yuri and thus after that he expose all VP dirty work and then bring all of em down... vp and him goes to jail together for good. But sung jun crime wont affect jung sun as she already divorced with him.

In the end, i smell some sacrifice going just like whisper ( other lee sang yoon drama )

And then jung sun later on knew about her husband plan all along and thats when she realize that he sacrifice for sake of both of them. ( there will always a reason abiut why sung jun want to take down the vp )

Years later jung sun take sung jun out of jail and ask to start again from the beginning. Thus the drama had a bitter sweet ending.

But truly i hope we dont get this.. because this is too classic haha

I have watched most of the episodes except for 8-12. The revelation episodes and JS' humiliation seeing the cheater and the backstabber openly carrying on.

There is no hint nor indication that SJ is bringing down the VP or working undercover. Yes, working under the covers with the VP's illegitimate offspring, and he seems very enthusiastic about it.
