LDW &KB is soooo handsome! and I love that JA is not a weak character

 

the question if JA is AE, why she doesn't have the fox bead? can it be hidden?

and how come see can see spirits (like the tree spirit) but she still questioning if there's another spirit creatures?

 

 

andddd, the last scene of ep 2, so some snake spirit impersonating JA?

it shouldn't be LR or his servant right? since we got a glimpse of snake skin over her shoulder (they should be a fox?)

The way that she burns (it turned bright orange with net markings similar to how the coin Gumiho looked when he started transforming) makes me think that it could be Yongji's character (Lee Rang's assistant??) or another Gumiho pretending to be Ji A?

 

I've heard elsewhere that she might be possessed by a spirit judging by the episode 3 preview....

 

 

AHH but I love this drama already. I get why people are comparing this drama to Goblin, but they actually have super different vibes in regards to storyline, mood, and characters esp the main female protagonists. in this one, Ji Ah is the definition of girl crush. I legit can't tell what's going on in her head or predict what she'll do next, which is always a plus for me since most dramas tend to stereotype females to either super bubbly and sweet or dark and chaotic. Ji Ah is sensible and witty and always one page ahead of the viewers.

 

These first two episodes have really strung me in and I'm very optimistic looking at everyone's chemistry.   I'm itching for next Wednesday to come!!!

A lot of people are assuming that JA will actually turn out to be AE bc it's just stereotypical in kdrama land....and also JA and AE both plug their ears when they're stressed/in grief, but I want to hold onto the hope that it might actually not be and LY can break the curse of a fox falling in love with one person to make this a more unique take on a fantasy character falling in love with a human! 

 

It's a potential that the women who had AE's face have all been reincarnations of AE and someone higher up (maybe the old woman who is in charge of deceased spirits) removed the fox bead to protect LY's fate? It may have something to do with AE's murder since LY said someone stole her life. We also have to question how AE even found LY's home LOL just like how JA found LY's modern home bc I'm still thinking about it!!

 

And to answer your second question, I think the spirit took on human form just like how gumihos can. And I think LY told her there are actually other creatures when they had a meal at the Snail Bride!

I really appreciate how writernim and PDnim make LDW oppa and KB potrayed such a beautiful character. KB as a badass is too precious to watch.. OMG their vibe is too strong, whenever DW oppa said IC word, swag overload. Urban legend with english attached in dialogue makes me cramp. Hahahaa

Whenever the storyline goes, it reminds me to inuyasha anime. Forbidden love scandal between 2 worlds. Lol.

 

Now this is my favorite dramas along with The "no pride" Zombie Detective  OMG my kdramas world has changed!

I was watching some of the scenes again, and like, where can I find a man who would freeze (what seems to be Korean ver. of) the river Styx FOR ME? I honestly gasped when that happened.

I saw some people predicting that someone could’ve taken the bead away from JA (assuming AE is her)? Or maybe that JA isn’t AE at all. And speaking of which, what happened to the parents? My theory is that they were/are also magical beings. The picture of them at the island looked kinda creepy, they weren’t even smiling. And why were they there? I feel like this could escalate into horror reallll quick. And I know YR is there as well, so this has to tie back to AE. I swear, these isolated Korean islands are always mixed with some weird shamanistic stuff happening. 
Lol I know these questions will be answered later on, but next week is sooooooo far away sigh

Finally watched the two episodes and loved both. I was initially interested in the show because of the grim reaper.. I mean the sexy fox lol but now I'm pleasantly impressed by the female lead. She's strong, brave and nonchalant, totally my kinda girl. The story may seem a little predictable but I love the lead couple and their banter 

 

Bromance between ML & his side kick/veterinarian is awesome! The actor who plays the veterinarian is so natural and whenever he's on screen it's quite interesting to watch. Apart from the lead couple, I loved watching his scenes. That guy deserves more screen space tbh

Loving the 2 episodes so far (biased because I love LDW )... although there's definitely a Grim Reaper 2.0 vibe (pins on lapels too?).

 

On a side note, anyone else notice at least 3 instances where there was a clip that repeats? Watching on Viki so I don't know if it's intentional or a streaming/editing issue/glitch in the matrix. First one happens ~38:00 mark where JA misses the bus in episode 1 and the other 2 happen in episode 2 (don't remember exactly when).

 

Ahhh the wait for the next episode is killing me!

First of all I REFUSE TO SEE THE SPOILERS above Lol.

 

Is this The show I have been waiting for In K drama land ...I mean I just finished the First Episodes.

 

It has K drama Fantasy elements with C drama Xianxia and American Vampire Legends Twists as well. I am Stumped. Although I can name the shows I found similarity too but let us not go there.

 

First episode Lee Yeon is looking for his Lost mate , I guess there will be atleast One more Lifetime shown as he cannot mate with Anyone else. (Like he said to The kid in the park who I guess was in TKEM as baby Jo Young anyhow that interaction was so cute.), if it has multiple lifetimes good for me,,,my Korean Xianxia love will be fulfilled.

 

The shows first episode legit made me wonder if every third person I meet is a shape Absolving Fox wuhahah....

The funny thing being even writers Knew LDW Fox King would be compared to his Alter Ego Grim Reaper due to searching the soul mate similarity, but it became a bit too much for me, Until KB entered the scene and wow are there no neighbors? The brother literally rampaged and broke half her house (Poor Jiah , who will cover the Cost??) 

How is KB looking exactly the same he looked in BOF puzzles me. I like his cheeky anti hero character here.

The leading lady is Too too smart, she is like Buffy but the Urban Mythical Creature Salyer , because her parents vanished in thin air. The episodes should reveal what exactly happened there!I am still puzzled about the first 10 minutes.

 

First episode : Went smoothly, and is thank God an hour long, I was getting mad with all the K dramas this year being almost 2 hour long yet a bit draggy, this gave me much needed relief. Hope it lives up to fantasy standards in futher episodes as well, which got lost after 2016 dramas.

I think that Lee Yeon Grim Reaper is confused .... I mean his girlfriend, the A-Eum's body were reborn many times in exact look alike face - "as a woman"; once as a woman with a kid, and once in the western cloths lady. Now in the 21st century he does not mind if AE is reincarnated as a man??  - as long as he's not 60 years old !! LOL

It is just ad breaks when airing on tvn.  I guess they just deliver the episode without edit it since VIKI get episode few hour after airing.  

 

Over to the premier week. Really great start with romance, horror, action and mystery.  I love that our female lead is smart and pick up thing fast. love our sassy fox. Also very interesting dynamic building between them. brothers relationship is also interesting.  Gonna be fun to see what to comes for us.

Hi guyss... I just finished first 2 episode and went back to soompi for able share my general thoughts. 

 

I liked this drama. First I thought it gonna be a another cliche fantasy-romance drama but story is deep. I liked the thriller and horror factors in it and LY & JA storyline. Liked how they are chasing a 2 good mystery. I liked LDW's acting in this drama. He really developed his acting skills. I feel now he is acting with his eyes. Kim Bum also making you wonder who is this man! what is his story! About Bo-Ah. I like her. I have some concern over her character in this drama actually. You know k-dramas turns around female leads. They write the actual story and other leads turns around them so I always care about female characters more. ıf they are likeable and unforgettable than public likes the drama. JA is little bit a typical character. Tomboy reporter girl who is chasing her own mystery. it is ok but waiting this character be more unique. Give us some comedy, some face gestures, some weird habits maybe. I want her to be more unique. For me she is not dislikeable but also not likeable too. very stable. Hope her character gonna be more charming coz this drama deserves it. Other leads uniqueness and their acting level little bit shadowing her.

 

About the story I will wait more to solve it. But I can only say I think JA is really not a human. neither her nor her parents.
