KJH made me remind to read more and go to bookstore more often while CSH made me wanna start appreciating arts. (while I ignore museums when on trip)

I thought that the writer gave us some clues about KJH&CSH’s relationship as a loyal and committed boyfriend/girlfriend follows:
- KJH’s mom kiddingly complained with light heart for KJH’s often bringing his girlfriend to have mom’s home cook, mom did not mention CSH as CEO anymore.
As CSH loves homecook and likes KJH’s simple family bonding; and
As KJH’s family esp. mom is important to his life and their relationship, KJH brings CSH to be familiar to be a part of his family.
His mom can acknowledge that CSH, the dear son’s simple girlfriend, does not make KJH separate from his family but mom has just gotten one more family member.
KJH’s mom: “I’m really not fond of Jin Hyuk right now.
He brings over his girlfriend almost every day.
What am I supposed to cook for her?
I’m running out of dishes to cook.”
- I also like KJH’s always praise CSH in their dating last scene as he has been:

I have just notced from rewatching in ep15 that money from Taekyeong Group has been corrupted in 2008, CSH might be implicitly forced to marry in 2011 for 2 years, divorced in 2013, and managed Donghwa Hotel from deficit to successful for 4 years.
KJH&CSH’s Timeline
- September 2018: CSH met KJH in Cuba. Then, they dated.
- March 2019: CSH tried to break up with KJH and reconciled.
- March 2020: One year passed, KJH tried to propose for marriage by mentioning going to Santiago as newlywed in June 2020 and CSH answered implicit yes with smile.
(In Episode 15, he mentioned going Santiago in June. Due to low season of hotel business they both work for and suitable time for going to Santiago, June is comfortable.)

Our memories about Encounter from Casts&Crews.
We can see a lot of Casts and Crews join the Cuba filming which might cost huge amount of money.
I count their pictures, it is about 95 crews in the picture with Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo which have spent for a month for filming. (Half might be local)
Just only Secretary Jang joined PBG&SHK for a couple scenes.
Due to just one trip, there might be filming with some more stocks for just in case editing later.

I cried hard for bus stop scene for the way KJH treated his mom with gestures of love no matter rub her arm, hold her hands, stare with care.

We saw how JH treated his mum, so gentle and kind. Putting myself in mum’s shoes, it would have been so touching to be handled in this manner by someone whom I had hurt.
I am especially touched by how JH trusts, hopes and perseveres in the face of SH’s uncertainties and fears. At first, he considered to break off with her because he thought his love for her had trapped her in feeling guilty for causing hurt to people around her. After remembering his promises to her and seeing how she was happy with him, he chose to trust, to hope and to persevere.
To some, JH maybe too idealistic but I liked how SH put it across to her Mother who was saying hurtful things to SH after her Father was taken away by the investigators. SH’s mum was hurting and she said many things that hurt SH. She wanted to make SH feel guilty by telling her her Father confessed because of he wanted her to be freed from Taegyeong group. She told SH she was regretting confessing to the investigators and told SH not to feel grateful towards her. She told SH she was hard hearted person and would survive this ordeal so SH didn’t need to be kind to her. SH responded by telling her mum that both of them should try to encourage each other in times of hurt. Mum replied with pragmatic “how will that help?” SH did not give up but told mum that’s how some lived and even if it was uncomfortable and even if it didn’t work, they should practice encouraging each other.
Perhaps that’s what being idealistic is all about, to convince the realist or pragmatic side of us to just believe, just trust and just hope even when it is difficult. Perhaps practice will make permanent the ideals.
The writer drawed script with classy sample how a closed person can encourage the one he/she loves with positive word is hearten.
It does not just let CSH learn but the audiences too.

The voiceovers. The note inside the bouquet case made me squeal. The details captured by the writer and carried out so well by the PD elevated the whole story you know. Good acting cannot save bad directing and a crappy story.
Sigh. This has been a good drama. And to think I didn't start it early because the storyline sounded kitschy.
I now have to go back and watch ep 15. I refused to watch it first.
I am very impressed and surprised with steady and calm pace of Encounter’s ending, it’s ending which other kdrama speeded to wrap BUT Casts&Crews has chosen their unique way to deliver one of a kind style.

I am very glad that Park Bo Gum challenged himself to join this Encounter project among critics and bias.(I was one of them)
He has done the best ever to portray one of his masterpiece in his acting career.
Park Bo Gum can really create a precious man named Kim Jin Hyuk to sit in many audiences’ heart, memorably.
I am very delightful that the female lead is Song Hye Kyo because of her acting experience and her top actress’s professional attitude to comvey the role with steady and calm focus, no need to try acting too aggressive to steal the scenes but naturally blend into Cha Soo Hyun.

I have just finished watching Encounter Last Episode.
As I wrote here, ep16 with Eng sub made me amaze much more than watching live.
How can the writer point out particular issues interesting with facts behind. This is the best closure for a kdrama, much better beyond I expected.
PD, writer, Production house, and Casts&Crews have worked with pride to deliver the life value and the essence of love in the rhythm with artistic vibes from ep.1-16.
Last but not least, thank you Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo for accepting this acting project among bias (including me) and working very hard to deliver this best acting quality with rookie-to-survive attitudes, the most beautiful visuals, and unbelievable chemistry to the audiences.
*** KJH and his mom
- I cried harder than Ep.15 for the scene KJH rubbed mom’s arm because he worried her wait in cold weather, he looks precious as CSH described. The way he talked to his mom reflect his sweetheart feature.
KJH:
“I was flustered and heartbroken at first, but I understand where you come from.
You just didn’t know how much I love her.
You don’t know what she meant to me.
She means as much as I love you, dad, and Jin Myung, I love her.

Yeah, you had a bit of discomfort like some at the start and it's normal cos of the age gap but I love the pairing right from the start!
Cos I know that they'll look stunning together and that since kyo looks so young and pretty, the gap will not be too obvious and BINGO! Same here. At the very beginning, it is a big problem with age gap, Park Bo Gum has paired with younger actresses but never with older female lead BUT from now on, I wanna hope for him to pair with experienced and skillful actress as Song Hye Kyo’s features.

We could say that KJH is resembling a lot to the little prince. He spent a lot of time with his rose, took great care of her but due to her words, he ended up leaving her behind. The rose could be perceived either as CSH (she broke up with him) or his mother (who hurt him by forcing CSH to break up with him). Moreover, moving closer to CSH who is the archetype of the adult means facing reality and the world of the grown-ups.
CSH and KJH are both saying the same at the end: they make the other a better person. CSH can become more cheerful and playful again, KJH has become a real man. He is her fence and her protector. They complete each other.

Encounter / Boyfriend made me realize that great script in amazing hands of professional actor/ actress no matter dramatic or happy vibe we can enjoy.
The dialogues when Cha Soo Hyun explain why she need to ask breaking up are full of love and care, Cha Soo Hyun did not choose silly way to hurt or harm Kim Jin Hyuk.
Even when Kim Jin Hyuk attempted with several methods/things, such all methods/things are full of love and care to the max either, Cha Soo Hyun’s response is not rude or aggressive but so calm.
This is beautiful and classic drama without rude words or hurt acts to throw away to each other, audiences realize every minute that it is their way of giving love from the bottom of their heart to another from each perspective.

When English Subtitle comes, we might discuss more again because I often find out that Encounter/Boyfriend with Subtitle make audiences feel different from beautiful script portrayed by great Actor/Actress.

The script in this last episode is very tense with KJH’s multiples attempt like stuck in puzzle without way out after KJH has kept on trying with many methods and things to CSH but he can not bring her back.
When mom appeared in front of CSH’s room, I cried and sobbed so hard from KJH’s high stress to be released from this no-exit black box, this might be only the light at the end of the tunnel indeed.
Only the root cause can solve the problem.

We're finally at the end, just a couple more hours to go and we can all finally see what the finale holds for us.
I wanted to quote so many of you who wrote long posts about JH's actions after learning the bitter truth about his beloved mother's feelings toward SH. For some reason all the quotes I have selected did not appear after hitting the reply button. So I'll just say I agree with most of you that JH being JH is not the same as WS. He is protecting SH by showing to his mom that he's fine since Mom is unreasonably worried that he will get hurt. Since he loves both, he is doing all he can to reassure his mom that he is okay so she wouldn't put even more blame on the already traumatized SH. He already told his mom that SH makes him want to be a better man, so he will continue to be a good son. We all know that having a good communication is the key, but let's face it in real life not everyone often has a heart to heart talk with their parents. More so when you know that the parent/s felt that it's for your own good. It's like talking to a wall. So instead of words, I feel JH is using warm gestures to convey to his mom that he loves her, but he would continue to love SH in his own way.
About his mom, I think most of us already voiced our thoughts quite strongly, so I'll just add that Mom thought she's doing the right thing. But doing what she thought was for the best interest of her family doesn't mean I agree with her actions. I hope she would realize that she's not going to lose her son, but instead would gain a very devoted and loyal daughter in law.
Someone said it's always SH who was being pulled out of her shell. So for once, would really appreciate if she would be the one to walk out from her self enforced cage/prison/castle of guilt. It's time for her to reach out and finally take the happiness of a lifetime JH is offering to her.
Sorry for writing another long post. Just want to unload the heaviness of my heart so I can finally look forward to what's in store for us in the finale. If there is any more tears left in me, I would like to shed tears of happiness this time around.

We are coming to the goodbye episode, Encounter will be the acting project in my heart for a long time, I satisfies with all 15 episodes and hope to happt with ep16 too.
This is a Kdrama masterpiece in memory indeed. Actually I am not ready for withdrawal so rewatching will be done.
By the way, if KJH is in this school-boy look, there might probably be an age gap.

JH responded to say that there's not right or wrong in love and love just happens. He would use his ways to take care of SH.
Again, when WS met JH in the hotel after he became co-CEO, WS told JH when JH commented that WS's actions were hurting SH whom WS expressed to love. WS replied JH that he joining the hotel as a co-CEO was acting out of desperation to protect what he loved (SH) and challenged JH to see whether his bravery would prevail or his desperation. JH responded saying that he was not privy to WS' past or his experiences, thus it was not his place to judge but deliberately hurting someone was not ok for him.
For me, JH spoke his mind with firmness and gentleness without the intent to shame or hurrt WS even when WS was anything but kind. He gave the impression that he was not trying to judge WS' actions but only to reflect to him how he was hurting SH.
Even how he spoke to HI when she went direct to SH about JH being sent to Sokcho. Although he disagreed with HI for going direct to SH, JH responded with kindness.
I don't get a sense that JH is someone who will suffer in silence or he is a pushover. He seemed to operate based on his own principles or moral compass. He not confronting his mother directly for telling SH to break up with him behind his back was not because he couldn't care for SH's feelings. He ran towards her and hugged her and asked her why she didn't tell him. Comforting her for the hurt his mother had inflicted on her was the first thing he thought to do. He wanted to talk to her about it. He did not react like WS who bought SH expensive material things after his mother hurt SH which made her feel like he was buying her over.
Moreover, I feel JH was thinking carefully how to relate to his mother's concerns. If he were to show his hurt and pain, it might further confirm for JH's mother that SH was such a terrible partner and her father's scandal was affecting JH. He had to swallow all the pain and put up a brave front for his mum so that she would not think worse of SH and her family. He knew he couldn't change his mum's way of thinking overnight thus he needed more time and careful planning to win this war.
I read your comment slowly and pause to remind of each scene KJH behaved as you mentioned, tears drop while I had a meal in the restaurant to what you explain to make us realize how beautiful KJH is.
I totally agreed with you about how KJH handled his mom from what currently his mom strongly thought.
More plan to suit mom and resulting positively to CSH might be coming.
This also reminded CSH mentioned simple and pretty tangerine syrup to symbolize KJH in ep15.
When I watched and rewatched Encounter, I found out that
- KJH’s polite and kind manner is similar to PBG who does not smoke, not speak rude words, not drink alcohol, and behaves nicely to others; and
- CSH’s living as goddess in the strong limelight and spotted by the press&in public eyes for a long time is similar to SHK’s goddess actress.
Casting is unbelievable with thorough consideration indeed.

I really understand you because I used to be unpleasant from this observation too.
However. I found out that in a relationship KJH might look be more active and proactive because he is happy to do these and those to CSH and he is very happy and merry when CSH responded, reacted, or started to be more active. KJH satisfies with CSH’s interaction.
At the very beginning, CSH might be very conservative and have background of zero or minus points of expressions, she has learnt to express her sharing and caring which could be considered as a lot of development.
CSH’s love might be shown in the way of let go KJH because she concerned him too much as KJH’s mom pointed out.
In ep15, CSH has been back to look unfeeling as in early episodes again.

PBG looks cute but he can create KJH to the KDrama to be appealing and manly from efforts eg.hard work out, preparatiom with looks and design of acting approach and the way of presenting.
I noticed very different in KJH’s speaking with short pause, KJH’s slowly blinking his eyes before saying a word, slowly move his hand, and the determined walking pace...All are not PBG’s.
KJH has told other characters in Encounter with thoughtful words which I think the writer wanna tell the people in the world who watch that
