In ep10, when KJH mentioned that the book he read is about missing no matter
- from mom to daughter; or
- from KJH to CSH .
CSH’s facial expression looked misery like reminded of her mom who has never had mom-daughter feelings (includes missing) at all.

By the way, I remembered a couple persons posted in this forum concerning about CSH's sleeping pill habbit. This sleeping pill point has not been raised from ep.4-ep.9 but our KJH has not forgetten about his beloved CSH.
In ep.3, Mr.Nam concerned this sleeping pill and tried to limit the amount CSH will take. In addition to Mr.Nam's care about CSH's happiness, he also concerns CSH's health.
In ep.10, during their first video call, KJH who cares about CSH's freedom and happiness, KJH also find the sensible way to suggest about sleeping pill with his concern.
Even KJH is younger than CSH but he cares about CSH's health and find the way to suggest, similar good intention as Mr.Nam who is like an uncle to CSH.
A nice boyfriend might act with caring like a dad/an uncle to his girlfriend.
If Mr.Nam knows about this KJH's sleeping pill suggestion to CSH reflecting his care with all about CSH thoroughly, he must give KJH stronger green light.

In coming episodes, audiences would see CSH's dad meet KJH, I am looking forward to watching this scene too. However, I am wondering

In the newly released photos, Kim Jin Hyuk unexpectedly runs into Cha Soo Hyun’s father Cha Jong Hyun (played by Moon Sung Geun) in the lobby of the Donghwa Hotel. I wonder how many wefies PBG has after "Boyfriend" is done....I'm so glad that he has had a chance to work with Kyo and she with him too. Both complement each other so adorably, on screen and off screen. The way they conducted their video call in ep 10 is so natural as if it's their normal way of talking to each other, in that teasing, smiling and casual mode.
Just looking at their smile is enough to put a smile on my face to tie over till Wed nite.
I wonder how many takes were there for the balcony steamy kiss scene? I believe they would have discussed the level of intimacy. Yes, I did notice the red ears in Seoul and in Cuba during those kissing scenes.....definitely can't be due to any climate change.
When I watched Encounter's BTS ep.9-10, I wanna shout where are our Kim Jin Hyuk and Cha Soo Hyun,
whom I saw are Naughty&Cheerful Park Bo Gum and Playful&Smiley Song Hye Kyo.
We could also feel the dirty of uncleaned bed sheet Kim Jin Hyuk was trying to find the doll.

HATED: The blatantly obvious product placement
Because I’m enjoying the drama so much, I let the first few times pass, but it’s just getting ridiculous now. You can’t get through an episode without even a few blatant advertisements. These product placements sometimes take away from the fantasy world that us viewers get sucked into.

HATED: The inevitable breakup
We knew it was coming. The tension building up to Jin Hyeok and Soo Hyun’s highly public relationship was bound to make Soo Hyun want to take a break from Jin Hyeok. But did we know that it would break us seeing Jin Hyeok so heartbroken?
SpoilerLOVED: How happy Jin Hyeok was to see Soo Hyun by the sea
At this point in the episode, Jin Hyeok is wallowing in his misery as he continues to be on a “break” from Soo Hyun. He’s able to adjust living in Sokcho, but he still can’t help but miss her.
So when Soo Hyun shows up in Sokcho and makes a surprise visit to see Jin Hyeok, he’s obviously ecstatic. He can hardly contain himself and he runs up to her like a long lost puppy! It was seriously adorbs.
SpoilerLOVED: Going back to Cuba (and the cinematography)
I loved the setting of the first episode, which took place in Cuba. The country is so beautiful and makes for an enchanting backdrop to this romantic story! So when the characters embark on a trip back to where they first met, I was totally excited. Mainly because I knew it would add to the already romantic adventure that the two are on.

LOVED: The tears of happiness
When Soo Hyun is running around Cuba trying to find Jin Hyeok, she finally stumbles across the note that he left her at the cafe they were supposed to meet at back when they first met. While she reads the note and starts to miss Jin Hyeok even more, she turns around and sees him in front of her.
LOVED: The “I love you”
It finally happened – Jin Hyeok has finally professed his love for Soo Hyun, and what better way than for it to happen in Cuba.
That romantic moment which then led to the kiss.
Although the kiss scenes are hard to get by without thinking about Song Joong Ki, it isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Maybe it’s because Park Bo Gum is doing such a great job of carrying the series that it’s easy to get over. I can’t wait to see this romance progress in the episodes to come!

Totally agreed. PBG&SHK are real actor/actress who acts amazingly,
their real gesture are totally different from their roles and
their interaction in real life to each other is different to their characters they are portraying.
BTS of ep 9-11 made me remind that Kim Jin Hyuk and Cha Soo Hyun have been created and totally different from Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo.
In real life, Park Bo Hum looked quite young with very polite manner
(PBG has signature acts eg. salute, surprise, smile which are different from Kim Jin Hyuk’s ) and PBG’s act to Song Hye Kyo Sunbaenim in respectful way.
Song Hye Kyo Sunbaenim looks playful, mature with young face , comfortable and easy to approach.
PBG and SHK in real life looked like
- a matured sister who is kind and works with mentorship to the younger brother; and
- a little brother who respects and admires this sister so much.
(when SHK started career, PBG was just 2 years old...haha...SHK’s sucessful acting experience is close to almist PBG’s age.)
KJH and CSH disappeared.

It's only in k-dramas that the unbelievable becomes believable and the believable becomes unbelievable. That is the beauty of K-dramas, it breaths life into our fantasies (sometimes too much life). I'm glad that they are making Jin Hyuk appear very helpful to Soo Hyun, making him a man that she can depend on, a man who can help her. Otherwise, it looked like a worldly woman dating a young boyish man. Especially when you have her ex-husband who looks manly and capable (despite being controlled by his mother) of now protecting her.
I still want him to become a world renowned photographer.

In Encounter, CSH is like a celebrity who has been in the limelight/news as same as a singer/actress, she has paparazzi before meeting KJH. In Ep1, Secretary Jang mentioned CSH's eating sashimi has been taken to the news. CSH's attending ex-mother-in-law was on the news.
Therefore, CSH's dating would closely followed by the news reporter too, it is hard to avoid answering the questions with high pressure&newsreporter's asking technique by throwing fake info to let CSH correct.

the Garden Owner saw KJH's picture in the magazine, he knew that KJH is just a frontdesk in a hotel chain in this large Dong Hwa hotel group, this Donghwa hotel group will not let this frontdesk man to negotiate about this crisis of the important project in Cuba.
In addition, this garden owner recognized KJH as an invader to this garden in ep1, KJH is just a young boy who enjoyed taking a photo.
Why did KJH(Frontdesk man) take a critical risk to pursue this Cuba Hotel deal without permission with all possible ways he could, no matter
1. Fly from Korea to Cuba;
2. Invade to the garden straight with baggage;
3. Sleeping overnight to wait

The garden owner got this weird clue and guessed whether KJH's beloved woman and the one&only female CEO he mentioned in the letter is the same person; therefore, KJH dared to take this disapproving risk with nerve-racking actions for the CEO.

Fighting encounter
For Korean Dramas, there are many genres for different target groups of audiences.
Each genre can not serve all groups of audiences, that is just another facts we could anticipate.
- No drama can serve all audiences’ preference.
- Working on any acting projects esp. with hallyu stars will be on spot to be analyzed and criticized.
For recent on-air dramas, I am not watching any others and I do not understand why other audiences like those formula repeating theme or fierce life or too fantasy genre.
However, I have not given negative comments to other dramas because I am busy with rerunning Encounter, searching about Encounter, and joining this forum.
Over 2 years Park Bo Gum got acting project offers in dramas and films but he chose Encounter. Song Hye Kyo chose Encounter after 3-year break and marriage.
I used to wonder why and I even used to be one of no-no audiences to Encounter.
However, now I really appreciate Park Bo Gum, Song Hye Kyo, their agencies to have unmet visions to choose Encounter and portray with their utmost.
Last but least, Encounter is great in all aspects:
- Quality:::
Fresh story, thorough script, challenging roles to the main leads, increase, increase brand value in acting careee to PBG&SHK (acting in difficult-to-believe role contradict to real life) ; and
- Commerciality::::
got high rating in cable, can sell copyright in over 100 countries (very popular in Chinese), and
securing more CFs to PBG&SHK,
that’s all we (Encounter’s fans) can dream of.

KJH and CSH would have probably stayed in Cuba for several days, their clothes would change.
KJH might arrive Cuba on Friday morning and went to meet the coordinator to ask sending his letter to the garden owener but such coordinator denied because of garden owner's dissatisfaction.
That's why KJH had to invade and sleep in the garden in order to attempt meeting the garden owner next day(Saturday).
From the scene Secretary Jang booked the flight, CSH might arrive Cuba in Saturday morn and even after the garden owner accepted apology, CSH might have to stay in Cuba for days till working day for the coordinator in Cuba to deal the contract with tons of clauses among three parties (DongHwa, Cuba Coordinator, and Garden Owner)
KJH has taken days leave so both of them could be in Cuba for several days till the contract with garden owner has completely done.

Park Bo Gum's and Song Hye Kyo's acting with switched time in Encounter and real time in filming are challenging indeed but both of them can nail the roles.

I appreciated Song Hye Kyo and her fans can be proud of too.

By the way, I read about Encounter's rating in Korea which is very high for Cable channel; however, some might need higher.
I understand high expectation because we can realize how great this Encounter has been acted by Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo, written by scriptwriter, directed by PD, produced by Crews&Casts. Anyway, this is just rating for particular measurement for Cable in Korea, Encounter's merits are much more.
The more I watched Encounter and realize the superb quality in every features in this drama, I am very ever happy that Park Bo Gum is in this project after 2-year break for study and I am happy for Song Hye Kyo to choose this project after her marriage. Encounter could be their turning point to let audiences perceive these both hallyu stars's acting elements.
After I have watched Korean dramas for 4-5 years, I found out that there are many genre of K-dramas, each has the different target groups:
Some with familiar theme might attract the housewife/househusband;
Some with formula popularity might attract wide groups;
Some with fresh theme might attract teenagers/working ages/older age with revolution
In addition to target audiences, the result to the actors/actresses might not be in the similar flow with the drama rating.
Some high rating drama with formula popularity theme might not create brand value to actors/actresses, after the drama ends, nothing better to such actors/actresses.
Futhermore, some high rating with formula popularity drama does not challenge actor/actress's acting skill to sharpen lead actor/lead actress's saw because such actor/actress act as he/she used to.
These reasons above made me glad the most that
1. Encounter with fresh theme and leisurely absorbing pace has been delivered with amazing quality; and
2. Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo have been praised for their uttermost acting.
Park Bo Gum's and Song Hye Kyo's strong credential and immerse popularity in the entertainment world has been well recognized in Korea and in other countries.

Imagine his feelings, when CSH totally ignores him and lets him wait for three hours. JWS thought, he is entitled to have CSH's visit. JWS needs to learn on the hard way that he is nothing compared to JH. That's why I am looking forward for JWS's meddling in the hotel business. I hope, JH can show him his skills. CSH is gradually changing as well... she is learning not to keep everything to herself.

@stroppyse Thank you so much for your translation. From ep.1 to ep.11, not even a single second of my thought that ex-husband is okay, he is totally not okay as a man in Encounter and in CSH's life.
Ex-husband's deaf and blind, what he heard from CSH herself about her relationship with KJH and what he saw KJH&CSH's relationship, reflected his self-centered and self-willed without caring others.
Why would CSH not be released from Ex-husband's mom's control, I thought that ex-husband is one of main reason of such control no matter CSH's deep suffering during marriage or after divorce.
Ex-husband has expressed to CSH and KJH with the implication that Ex-husband can call CSH back at any time with his luxury gifts and hotel's intervention, KJH is out of their class, as Ex-husband has just looked down KJH in ep.11
