@syahirannsyakirann I thought once the drama ended  knetz would't be as active as before, but look at them, they are the same as us :tears:

@orion00 yes! A lot of korean fans on twitter are good at making Hyeri JKY GIFs! They are so dedicated :tears:

Same with ssohyn.k, I wasn't able to watch her recent uploads then IQIYI blocked it unfortunately.

Me too! I was so excited to see that she made a video chemistry part 4, and so disappointed when it was blocked.

@orion00 a period drama would suit them very well! Hyeri and JKY in a melodrama next please Mountain

Yes I agree! With any luck, sometime in the future, after his military service, if he is still as enthusiastic about Hyeri, then they may get an offer of some sort? After all, he was more than agreeable to sing a duet with her for their ost, so I take it that he likes collaborating with her? Hehehe

@orion00 yes I agree, even the moments when they appear to be arguing, I can't help but find them cute with that. It just shows how comfortable they are and they don't need to be wary of their actions  friends forever haha

I watched a few older eps of Amazing Sat with Key and Hyeri and I noticed she is very much the same person as when with JKY, arguing with Key, and sometimes teasing the other male members like siblings. The difference is, JKY doesn't attempt to argue with her, or is not competitive when it comes to Hyeri, and often gives in to her. In fact, he himself has a lot of aegyo too. Them together on the one screen=SO CUTE=IRRESISTABLE :relaxed:

Look at this gif. Hyeri proudly bring Ki Yong to meet her Amazing Saturday family

Ahhh that smug look on her face, you can just see how proud she is, returning in glory with her prized male lead.

And him behind with his shy puppy face! Now who said anything about moving on..:sweet:

@YuSanSeul I hope she uploads it again! This fanmade video is also good

Yes noticed too that he's very submissive when it comes Hyeri :D he's like the guy who doesn't want to disapppoint Hyeri nor hurt her feelings.

On the other hand, JKY's interaction with his other female leads (Nana and Jin Seyeon) looks like the typical colleagues to me. He would fistbump with them but with Hyeri its always high-five and more skinship haha

Why he looks like a dancing grandpa here

I'm sure Hyeri would like to squish his face here instead

@YuSanSeul @Heedong after looking at the ssohyn.k video and also rewatching again MRIAG, their hug both in the drama and bts is so warm. Not only their gaze but how they respond to each other really like a couple. I've watch Ki Yong other drama but the hug is not as warm as in MRIAG right?

I agree with all of the things that you guys said. He definitely treated hyeri definitely than his other female co stars and Im not sure if it’s because hyeri has a bf that’s why he is a bit submissive and is taking a step back but he sure is like a puppy when he is around her.

With all his other interviews with his female costars you can see he is more confident and shows dominance but with hyeri he is quite the opposite and it could also be because of hyeri’s personality as well but he somehow becomes a little boy when he’s with her and it’s very cute and quite amusing to see.

I like this review actually. It doesn't sugar coat, but it doesn't criticise with malice; it is unbiased and so very true. Love how it sums up the story as "it's as simple as it gets". And personally for me who hadn't seen the webtoon, it was most definitely a case of "No expectations going in, no disappointments going out!"

Comparing it with the currently airing Nevertheless (also webtoon adapted, also creating buzz amongst viewers for sizzling chemistry amongst the leads) and Doom (similar theme), MRIAG has excelled in terms of viewership!

My only gripe with MRIAG after rewatching it the 3rd time now, and realising why it didn't gain as much of a fanbase as it could have, since it combined fantasy, love and a popular webtoon to boot! Was how they failed to create and build up the tension to draw more viewers in and follow the drama closely. Would Eureoshin disappear when his time is up, or would he attain his goal of being human?  Would their 'forbidden' love see the light of day? These were themes other fantasy dramas such as Goblin and YwCFTS successfully capitalised on to suck viewers in. (Forgive me, I enjoyed watching all 5 leads so very much, I wish the viewership reflected it even more!)

Ep 7 alone with the evil spirit and JKY acting 2 roles successfully created that tension and thats when viewership went up. So its proof, that strategy does work.

Also, I noticed in ep 11 when Dam realised Eureoshin was feeding on energy from a different human to protect her, leading to their temporary breakup, all that happened too quickly! It didn't allow me as a viewer to build up my emotions, or for us to enjoy their superb acting-her discovery, to betrayal, to confusion. It was similar to when he took back his bead and she realised he had been lying to her. The scriptwriter never focused on her emotions upon discovering his betrayal. Which would have made debating their relationship more worthwhile, and given the actors more room to display in depth acting, rather than mostly comedic acting.

Having said all that, I also fell in love with the drama straight off the bat for its simplicity, no overt-complications-type story telling. If anything, they successfully created a fun and unbothered drama and the actors themselves made us love them in real life even more!

Maybe he thought less rumours would suffice since she's officially taken, so he could just let loose and be himself and have plenty of skinship without any issues. Little did they know, it just fuelled our obsession with them. Plus you're right, I noticed Hyeri tends to be dominant (in a cute way) without being overbearing, that makes some want to give in to her just to satisfy her. Haha. Either way, they're the perfect combi!

It's a bit turn off when the storyline is known and the screenwriter technically follow the general storyline in the webtoon. If they adapted like half of the webtoon and follow they screenwriter own idea might able to get more tension/additional storyline.

Unlike Goblin, there are a lot of side storyline like relationship between Grim Reaper and Sunny, Grim Reaper and Goblin itself, the story of the death when Grim Reaper visited them and during the tea service makes more viewer hold tight on them. Goblin love storyline itself not very strong unlike MRIAG that solely focus on Fox and Dam only.

Add on comments, JKY parents raised him well. He is technically very clingy person and Hyeri is definitely strong and determined lady that's why JKY keep clinging to her. If he with shy lady, JKY immediately will be come dominant person but I can see he like stronger women (since he did a lot of nonna-doaseng drama). I think that's normal trait for youngest child. He is mature in manners because that's how his parents raised him.

@YuSanSeul couldn't agree more to what you said! I haven't rewatched MRIAG to analyze the whole drama better but its true that they could've have been bigger like Doom and Nevertheless. I wish they didn't prolong the red string/love triangle because that's also one of the reasons why some viewers lost interest with the main lead. I recommended MRIAG to two of my friends and can you imagine they really rooted for Seonwoo? They liked JKY at first btw. I never focus too much on second male leads because its given that they will not be chosen in the end.

@orion00 it surprises me that even if JKY is the youngest in their family, he still had this mature/retro vibe in him, his zodiac sign is Leo which is the bossy type. Leos are compatible with Geminis (Hyeri :tears:). Its also heartwarming how close he is with his brother. I read that his brother visited all his birthday ads last year. I'm sure their parents are very proud of them.

@ElleSor please guard your heart and don't fall for them too much haha tho I know thats impossible :D

I miss them more after watching their BTS.

They are so  natural together.

And thats why the drama was successful despite poor promotions, controversies with chinese investment and a not so perfect script. All credit goes to the actors! Haha

True. The story was too predictable because of the webtoon (although I also think webtoon fans were grateful they didn't go off track). But yes! I forgot Goblin had a very strong 2nd place couple. In fact, I was one who ended up a bigger fan of Lee dong wook over Gong Yoo.

@orion00 I didn't know he was the youngest. That explains his aegyo :dorashakes:

We were lucky though, again thanks to the actor's chemistry, because their ratings are better than Doom and Nevertheless.

Guard your heart alright! Hahaha. Its been a month since the drama ended and I'm still in love with these two :sweatingbullets:

@YuSanSeul... saw ep 1 of Nevertheless and didnt understand the hype... it was soooo darn slowwwwww.... i dropped it after ep2 or something... it looks like soft porn to me, whats is the point really... clueless girl and crazy guy, together, normal boy girl relationship then break off then bk again... i seriously do not have much time to watch such crap with no storyline... haha...

As for Doom.. aigooo... the writer lost her/his marble along the way... though i finish the drama, it was bad...

Of course, MRIAG was our saviour during May and June of 2021... it has a storyline, the leads are so good looking, whats more not to like... and 81 pages later, we are still talking about it despite the drama ended 3 weeks ago.... sigh... and kiyong's birthday is around the corner.. i wonder what will we see... *fingers crossed
