it's the moment we've all been waiting for (and them 2 showed up to Baeksang precisely for this award which is really a gift from their fans essentially)... so naturally, even with their perceived confidence, they're nervous and self-conscious (a) with the constant hounding of the cameras (i was like, yo dude with the camera, there are other actors in the venue y'know?! But thank you very much"), and (b) by the pretext that they are now very much aware how the world has been obsessing over them and voted with their phones, laptops, etc. Every interaction will be filmed, replayed, slowmo'd, and dissected. Let's be more in control.

 

So when their names were called, they got up,  narrowly missed each other's glances, and their first public, on-cam direct interaction with each other was captured by that photo. Yejinshi asking Hyunbinssi which way to go to the stage! Are you serious, bombshell star of the night/decade/century, Yejinsshi? You asking direction like you don't know which way to go? Were you channeling Seri on the fork road in the forest confused whether to go left or right? And Hyunbin the broad-shouldered and ever reliable man repeated his earlier commanding gesture "this way", with a stoic "game face on" look. Captain Ri, is that you?
 

we know the independent, outspoken, quick-witted full of ideas Yejinshi can navigate easy that maze of 3-meters apart chairs just fine. If she proceeded her own way, (like she normally would), he would have followed her without issue, or if he took a different route, it shouldn't matter they're being awarded individually anyway they can just meet at the stage.. But she checks with him-- she looked at his face to confirm and she followed where his hand ushered her to go. so i thought, that's how it is now, they make decisions together. Cool.

Now that "long walk" to the stage... again many were concerned about them being awkward to each other. To me it's the Airport "we don't know each other" scene all over again. Normal colleagues (and "close friends" at that) would have no problem being seen together walking or talking or having fun/laugh, unless... they are hiding something. And now that they've both acknowledged that they know the shenanigans their fans do online, they doubled-down on the 38th parallel line making sure neither of them crosses it.
 

And we all saw it was HB who acted more cold or serious, none of the 15-30 second gazes he usually give her. But we also have to understand the man. Even for the men who had personal interaction with Yejin (eg., master in the house), they cannot help but just be stunned (tho it looks like they're rudely staring) by her beauty. Just imagine the adjustment HB had to make to be blasé or indifferent like she's no big deal. But he needs to control himself so he went full on actorly ignored her and acted like he didn't care, no small talks or sweet whispers, keeping safe distance.
 

They're finally on stage, we saw that now well-referenced split-second slight turn of Yejin to check him and he was right there just a step behind but quick to acknowledge her and they finally let out an impish smile. "The coast is clear". Ahaha or so they thought.

I agree. Most of the times actors and actress who is in relationship won't give away their sweetness/lovey-dovey gesture in public event especially in a formal ceremony like this. Compare to actor and actress who is not in special relationship with their costar they will show their friendly side casually. Or if they have to milk away their on screen popularity so that more articles will come out on media just to make their name keep being mention. 

My conclusion is son yejin and hyunbin are in their llate 30s going 40s soon they don't need this kind of attention by selling their relationship to stay relevant in the entertainment industry. 

There are so many thing they most probably have learn from other actor+actress couples who couldn't last longer after all the media play about their relationship (being sweet openly).  I won't name those couples here. You guys can Google it to find out the list.  

 

Lastly, PDA is not everything. Not everyone like to do it in public.

The fact that it was televised, local and international media were watching closely, it totally made sense why their actions yesterday seems a bit discreet to each other.

That photo of SYJ and JHI talking for me was 2 colleagues catching up because its been a long time since they saw and talked each other. JHI obviously kept the social distance to YJ. HB and SYJ don't need to catch up with each other. Because they do it regularly. LOLs

Okay so Baeksang is finally over, where and when can we see BinJin together again? Can they have higher chances in upcoming drama awards? (SDA, SIDA, APAN?) 

 

They were in my dream yesterday, maybe because they were my entire focus yesterday . I feel sad that they didn't won acting awards, but they're professional and have already proven their worth. I know many opportunities will come for them. I feel like SYJ didn't really expect to win, we can see her genuine reactions when the winner was called. For HB, I think he had hope but I know he's a good sport and he has YJ to comfort him hehe...

 

If only they had more screentime and photo shots when they were just sitted there, we can more see their normal interactions. Like when SJH was giving her speech, or even reacting to funny moments of the event. I think that when your name was called up to the stage, of course the spotlight is yours, there's a certain pressure and nervousness especially with them because they've been in numerous dating rumors. For me, it's okay that they've played safe because whatever their actions (be sweet towards each other or totally ignore each other), there will be always different reactions and interpretation from people. It's really hard to be in their shoes.

 

I also just wanna say that YJ rocked that dress! I was one of the few who didn't like the dress before, but when she entered the red carpet I just realized that the dress is beautiful when wore by right person. I like that she's not that skinny, her body is really goals. HB is so lucky.

HB is so dashing, how I wish he smile more but I think that's who he is or his image even before meeting YJ.

 

As shipper or a fan, we want to know more, we expect more, and we imagine what are they like when there's no camera. We're happy that they're aware that many people loves them together, and they were touched of our efforts. I still believe they're dating, but I hope we won't giving them pressure regarding their real relationship. I don't know how long we're going to wait, but let's wait patiently.

Well, FYI which I guess you already know that majority or 99% of "BinJin" or HB/SYJ shippers are composed of

1. Very intellectual people from all walks of life and 99% highly proffessionals ( journalists, lawyers, proffessors, CEOs, managers, poets,authors, famous bloggers and vloggers, psychometricians, doctors, and many more to mention.  ( As evidenced how shippers here observed, analyzed, and be like a detective..) just AWESOME..!! Esp the HB/SYJ fans since thier Debut... hats off to all of you guys...

 

2. These smart shippers were all matured and very emotionally stable, and (THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING) were Kdramas are not thier way of life. ( others dont even heard Kdramas b4) most esp in the Western/Northern/Southern part of the globe. Because they are leading a very busy and hectic life schedules. Much more dont have tiktok accts/IG/Twitter and the likes, and force to download Vlive. But upon being introduced to CLOY, THIER world turned upside down. 

 

3. I, myself is a 49 yr old, school principal, and I have so much issues and concern in the school ( with my teachers and the learners (esp in this COVID time) that I (supposed) dont have time for this loveydovey thing ( I dont even watch tv series b4 only news).... but, LOOK at me now, Im crazy and addicted to the lovestory of these two not because of what they showed us during CLOY but in real life.

 

4. I have read somewhere that BinJin fans esp. shippers are mostly "hybrid people" and it is a fact. And they are not some teenyweeny school girls who get swayed by a simple show of emotions... they need hundreds of evidence and facts before they will be carried away.

 

5. NOW I will state here my observation on what I have seen on the clips and as for the "Cold and insensitive word" NO,!!  there was no such thing as "COLD" on HBs demeanor during the award, what I saw was a very reserved man who's  kind of worried or shall I say a little nervous perhaps, that he or they will show too much. It was very evident and that they are using thier skills as an actor to act normaly in front of the millions of people who were watching and scrutinizing them, BUT you cant help but noticed that theres that aura of them "ACUTELY and SENSITIVELY AWARE OF EACH OTHERS PRESENCE and GRAVITY". A feeling, that will only happen if 2 opposites attracts each other and all kinds of hormones gone wild. The excitement of being caught but you shouldnt be caught, believe me all those inner emotions will all be seen in the eyes ( Pupil) and mouth... these 2 organ work hand in hand and I can say " there is love in between)  (Im saying this from experience). 

 

6. And I dont know it it is only me, but I noticed that as soon as SYJ stand she wanted to go the other way/passage (from the way she pointed here hands as she looked at HB for confirmation) But HB wants her to use the passage where he is standing thats why he was a little bit forceful in showing which way to go, and SYJ dutifully follows HBs choice by going to the way he showed her.

 

7. Lastly as a mature shipper we can and are willing to wait and just be contented of what ever they will give us and at the same time give them SPACE, FREEDOM, and much more PRIVACY and not CHOKE them. Because its REALLY THEM who are having a DIFFICULT TIME on how to ADJUST, HANDLE, JUGGLE and DO, things on thier own and at the same time considering their superstar or hallyu status without hurting everyone or anyone ( fans and shippers alike).... They wanted US to be happy but at the same time THEY too wanted to lead a happy and uncomplicated life too. 

 

I am so much thankful that I have boarded this ship for I have found a new kind of family.... and my deep admiration goes to the best and skilled writer, poet , analyst, detective and a lot more from this group to mention  some @Chewy @RiRiGaGa@electric1arts @binjin @felizart @yejin and many more... Don't you guys think that this Baeksang's POPULARITY AWARD felt like a major award? BinJin trended number 2 in naver and Baeksang's official sites uploaded the pictures of the major awardees first before the special awardees, so it went like this: Photo 1- All awardees , Photo 2- Hosts, Photo 3- Special Awards, Photo 4- Major Awards....and so on. When actually, the special awards are always in the bottom.

 

Ok, maybe I'm just overthinking to please myself. Hahahaha.

If there’s another thing that i appreciated   about the event yesterday, it made us bond, interact, engage and get to know each other more. We only know each other as BINJIN shippers. We all have this love for anything BINJIN related. And after Baeksang and how we poured our hearts out yesterday and today, It’s nice to know that we are all here to give support, calmness and comfort each other as well. A little pick me up. 

 

I saw many people who only react to shipper posts  and now you are all commenting and sharing your own thoughts. And it’s wonderful to know that there really are many people who love and appreciate Ye Jin and Bin. Nakaka KILIG. And you guys know already what KILIG means.

So friends and haters alike, don't read too much into our OTP's "cold", "aloof" and whatever other behaviors that normal people would have termed as professional in a work setting.

 

Award ceremonies are still work at the end of the day for these artists. Its an event to celebrate all the actors' and actresses' hardwork and our OTP would be all the more considerate to not steal the limelight with behavior deemed inappropriate or scandal-worthy. They're are not young teenagers with raging hormones with the need to indulge in PDA at every opportunity. HB and SYJ are mature, responsible and sensible professionals. Proving whichever pairing of shippers right or wrong was definitely not on the agenda during BAA.

 

There's a time and place for everything and BAA is not the place to flaunt an internet breaking relationship. 

 

Thank you HB and SYJ for the side glances and confident smiles, we're happy you both are happy and safe.

I guess it's ok that some people felt how they did yesterday. Some were ok, some were not. Everybody's entitled to it. Own feeling and thinking. Let us allow each other be humans, not robots nor ghosts. Let everyone have the chance to bounce back and not be judged as weak...

After all, it's all about our efforts to show our love. And loving doesn't always have to be happy. It is being able to stay after hurting. Right? Let's all stick together in the end, no matter where the wind will take our ship.

Binjin interactions

Alot comments surfaced citing bin seems aloof to jin and not on form which I disagree. Their interaction throughout the event was kind of expected to me, at least not to the extent of dropping big hints about their r/s . I never expected them to be lovely dovely and be upright close for such an event and what's more, yesterday's mood is kind of sombre due to covid. On top of that bin was clearly nervous yesterday due to his high expections for the acting award. He definitely has improved in controlling his gazes to jin but that's not aloof (recall how he behaved at the first part of cloy press Con). Despite the fact that we don't have much shots of them throughout the session, the short snippets we saw are all telltale signs of their affection. I guess there is no need to elaborate further as there are so many pictures and proofs. Their r/s is definitely not one that is showing upright pda but subtle actions and acts to show they care and look out  for each other. That is what it takes for a long term r/s to go strong and lasting. 

 

Bin's reaction, behaviour

Bin was clearly uptight and anxious thoughout the show and had shown high desire to clinch the best actor award. He was figiting with his fingers during the annoucement and when announced, his expression tells everything that he was clearly disappointed. His disappointment perpetuated in the post event interview and shot with jin as he seemed to lack smile and happiness which caused people to cast doubts about their r/s. My heart goes to him as well, this is one award that I truly felt is a pity for bin given that it is such a close shave to an award from his last big award. However, the good thing is that jin was there to support him as she tried to minimise his sense of sadness which was evident when she tried to round things up during the backstage interview by consistently thanking the supporters etc. In a bubbly mood. Personally, I believe she will be there to support bin with her ample experience in award shows and get him out of this down time. I guess nothing beats more than a life partner or soul mate that understands your work, thoughts and feelings, and support you in whatever at her level best. 

 

Jin's reaction, behaviour

Jin was clearly not after the actress award yesterday as she was in a totally relax and spectator mode. She surprised us with her top form yesterday and clearly a different self she used to portray. From cloy interviews, she was usually the elusive, protective one and don't openly display her thoughts or affection (unlike someone). However, yesterday, not just the reporters' shots which displayed her vibrant smiles openly to bin, she also took a different stance on stage, in her speech and in the interviews to drop subtle hints. She is no longer stonic and has become the radiant one. One is to help cover up for the disappointed bin to thank the fans on behalf of herself/bin, she also assured us in the couple backstage interview that she is very blissful everyday. Isnt this subtlely dropping hints to fans to reveal that we should not be too panicky and worry about their r/s as they are going strong and happy. It is a good thing to me that jin is slowly moving out of her protective shell and telling us more info, this may be part of her move for bigger plans in the future. 

 

All in all, whilst I'm disappointment about cloy's haul yesterday, especially with Bin's miss, I'm a satisfied with bin jin's interaction and progress and am sure the ship is still going strong. The couple affection for each other is still strong to me and they are all proven by their actions and words. I am definitely a fan of their low profile yet strong way to show care n love for each other which to me is most important for a r/s to last and withstand any challenges to come. 

Moving forward, we have to be prepared for binjin drought again, my take is they will not do cf together at this moment. But being low profile has its merit for them. It is only that their r/s will grow stronger without the public scruntiy and fanfare ( this is how their r/s progress rapidly during TN right when no much people knows about them). Understand this is at the expense of fans like us dreading for their content, but ultimately this is what it takes for ship to sail and it is not to satisfy fans right?

On point. I agree to everything you said. Bin is not cold and aloof at all. They were laughing and talking from their seats esp when "Seodan" won the Fashion Icon Award. I think his behavior last time can be explained by his disappointment of CLOY not winning any major award for all nominations including for himself as Best Actor. What Yejin did was so special (as a close friend, girlfriend).She practically lifted up his spirit at the backstage interview, like trying to console him and turn his focus to appreciating their popularity award- He is appreciative of the award  and the fans of course, its just that winning the Best Actor is important to him. But Yejin was so positive, and vibrant and cheerful. Just what a woman should do to her man. Be there to cheer him up. Btw, HyunBin was behind Yejin on their way up the stage  to watch her steps and yes their smiles and nods is enough to assure us that they are good. They on stage just looked so gorgeous individually and more beautifully as a couple. We still have two years right, as these people want to get married before 40. I'll wait for them, and i still ship them.

From this angle it seems that YJ asked a staff/ cameraman not HB which direction she should follow to go on the stage.

 

HB looks like he got lost/ sad because he did not win the best actor award as he might have expected.
