Based on the new stills (in particular the suits), do we still think he will be the bodyguard? the boyfriend or fiance from abroad?  I still want to say bodyguard, but then how would she explain the publicized hug photos...

I'm having doubts about the bodyguard thing. I think they will take pictures of them together in public and it will start a news scandal that Seri has a new boyfriend and then they will wonder who is the guy, which could be dangerous for JH because if the wrong person digs in, he could be exposed so to distract people Seri will probably confirm the relationship and even introduce him as her future husband who knows? i would like that!

My bad. I think you were referring to the one that was playing while she was imagining happy memories. It’s Kim Se Jeong. It is not yet released.

These clothes are often given to them. The stylists contact some brands and are given free clothes because them wearing the clothes on the drama is huge publicity for the brand, kinda like when designers allow celebs to wear their clothes for big events. When the drama is doing well in ratings, they get even more calls from designers wanting them to wear their clothes on the drama. Now that they are in South Korea expect a lot of product placements, showing off brands etc... ratings keep growing so advertisers are also multiplying and more money for TvN.

Wow, they built a super nice set for Se Ri's well appointed house. So are we expecting a lot of Se Ri and Jeong Hyuk scenes inside her house? They can have the remaining episodes full of Se Ri and RJH in her house, I'm not gonna complain. 

 

Have they opened up the jangmadang set to tourists now? Someone also posted photos of RJH's house and the village. If they opened up the set for tourists, does that mean we're not expecting scenes from here anymore?

To my knowledge, the clothes worn by actors/actresses in dramas are sponsored in exchange of Credits. There are cases when the clothing company (example: Chanel, Gucci, Valentino) are generous, they just let those actors/actresses keep them. 

 

Btw, I once read an article about SYJ being "as NATURAL as possible" that someitmes, she DOES her HMU all by herself! Amazing!!! For an A-list actress like her ... she could afford even a dozen of make-up artist, but NO! Real beauty doesn't need expert's magical touch 

 

This lead me into deep thinking: Will there be a time when I stop using Foundation, Concealer, Eyeliner, Mascara and Lipstick???

It's Sejeong "All my days". It's not released yet but you can find snippets online.

I think i am the only one who prefers JH in uniform. He looks great in suit too but nothing can beat uniform for me Also he looks much thinner in suit in comparison to layered uniform. I think that is the reason i like uniform more. HB looks like he lost weight compared to previous episodes, it is understandable as they are working in tight schedules. Hope he will eat well and put on some more weight. 

I agree with @sussieh regarding long episodes. Since we only have 16 episodes and so much story left to be told, i think longer episodes are essential. One of the great aspects of this drama that they never dwell on dragging story too much or fill the episodes with nonsense as they don't have enough time for it. To be honest i am happy the episodes are long because shorter episodes wouldn't quench my thirst after waiting a week impatiently

Second oppa and his wife are coming to Seri's house on their first night together after the separation. I hope they will continue where they left off. Now that both of them declared their love for each other, having intimacy wouldn't be too hard, right I don't expect a heavy make out or something like that but at least a little less than that - more than a kiss on her bed

Does anyone have any theories on why Seung Hyun and Sang A visit Seri?

They were the ones that introduced SR to SJ, I wonder whether they would do the same (different suitor) or they would try to black mail SR based on their knowledge that she was in NK. Plus I am excited to see how SR handles them. She normally acts cold around them. With JH possibly eavesdrops their conversation, I am curious whether it could change the dynamics between them.

These pics really show how Hyun Bin’s eyes alone is acting and how his gaze alone speaks a thousand words. See the 180 degrees change in his eye gaze? You really need someone like Hyun Bin to be Jeong Hyeok, a man of few words, to convey all the emotions and thoughts without words. 
 

Now, on to some musings about fateful encounters and love at first sight in the drama.

 

Judging from the little insights I got from watching MLFTS, I believe Park Ji Eun has a penchant for writing about past encounters or past connections that show, as it were, there’s a destiny that joins the two lovers together.
 

My thoughts are therefore like this. Jeong Hyeok first met SeRi in Switzerland where they were watching paragliders together at the same place. At that scene, both looked like they were at a younger age. Jeong Hyeok was probably a student who had just arrived in Switzerland. SeRi was spotting a younger look than the look at the Sigriswil or at the ferry, with her hair tied up. They were both amazed at the sight of the paragliders and let out a “wow” together. They were probably amazed at the freedom of the paragliders who were “flying” up there looking at the world passing by underneath them. It was probably then that SeRi developed the desire to learn paragliding and after that she did learn and could paraglide. My guess is that Jeong Hyeok’s attention was drawn to the presence of SeRi and he had noticed her then. Maybe we will get to see more details at this scene later. I am guessing there’s more to this scene partly because of SYJ’s IG update on Christmas Eve. Perhaps, the thought of SeRi had lingered on in Jeong Hyeok’s mind all the while till he next saw her again at the Sigriswil. My guess is that the scene at Sigriswil happened a few years later when SeRi went back to Switzerland a second time. At the Sigriswil scene, Jeong Hyeok looked a few years older and SeRi also  looked more mature. So, it could have been SeRi’s second trip to Switzerland- this time for the purpose of euthanasia. Jeong Hyeok probably recognised her as the girl he saw while watching the paragliders. That would explain that look of recognition that Jeong Hyeok had when he saw her at the Sigriswil. It could be that Jeong Hyeok had occasionally thought about her and that’s why, as if by instincts, his first reaction was to save her from taking her out of her suicidal thoughts.
 

I think paragliding scene is Jeong Hyeok’s first encounter with SeRi and this also ties in nicely with the fate of SeRi paragliding into NK and back into his life years later. The look on Jeong Hyeok’s face at the epilogue scene of Episode 1 is both the look of recognition, amazement and amusement- like he was amazed that this girl once again appeared in his life. He might have been thinking about her now and then since the first encounter in Switzerland, especially when he was feeling lonely after he returned to NK to fulfill his filial piety duties. That may be why we were shown how he gently caressed the camera momentarily when he was taking out his coffee machine from his cupboard. I believe it is a significant teaser scene and we will see the connection later. Perhaps he had taken a photograph of her and had been looking at that photograph now and then. That would also explain why he had that look of recognition and amazement later when he saw her hanging in the tree.
 

I think all of these past encounters and connections would nicely explain why he instinctively did not want her to be hurt and not report her to the Security Department; why he instinctively lied about her being his fiancée in order to protect her etc..In his mind, she was not just a coincidence in his life. Time and again, this coincidence of her appearing in his life had happened. So, when SeRi asked him if he had a first love, his answer, though not spoken, is a yes, and she was the one. That scene at the abandoned school where they took shelter from the snowstorm- again, my guess is that that wouldn’t be a wasted scene. The Writer and Director are just keeping us in suspense as they piece and sew everything together beautifully for us in the end. 

 

Finally, the romantic in me wanna end this sharing with this quote.

2. Unlike most of you, I actually love Jeong Hyeok’s bowl hairstyle. I wanna remember Jeong Hyeok like that and so am glad to know Jeong Hyeok still looks Jeong Hyeok even in the South.

 

3. I really don’t mind the episodes getting longggger even if it is nothing but watching more of our OTP shopping for one and a half hours. I am definitely going to suffer from severe withdrawal symptoms after the drama ends. It is most likely that after this drama, I won’t get to see Hyun Bin in a TV drama for a long time to come as he ventures more into movies again. More importantly, the drama still has quite a bit of ground to cover such as:

i. How Jeong Hyeok will expose Jo Cheol Kang and bring a just end to him;
ii. SeRi and her mother’s relationship; the backstory of SeRi being abandoned by the sea;

iii. Seo Dan and Seung Jun’s budding romance;

iv. The resolution of the in-fightings and sibling rivalry in SeRi’s family - especially the discovery of her Oppa No. 2’s attempt to get rid of her

v. Lastly how our OTP will or will not end up together! On this, my guess is that Jeong Hyeok would once again go back to NK after his mission to protect SeRi from Jo Cheol Kang is done. By then, his father would give up on insisting that he stays on in NK and would let him go and pursue his dream of being a pianist in Switzerland. And SeRi would also have realized that life without Jeong Hyeok is meaningless and would give up the heir to Queens to her brothers. And the fairytale-like happily ever after will wrap up in Switzerland where it all began.

I think longer episodes than average drama even the one that TVN had, as long as it is CLOY I never complaint. Cause I enjoy every scene in CLOY, even it is scene with SD or SJ. All the actors and actresses play their roles in their best. So, not even a single scene is disappointing.

Are they considered OFFICIALLY TOGETHER now as BOYFRIEND and GIRLFRIEND?

 

Because they already shared three kisses and basically acted like lovers in NK. The only thing absent is the sex. Can RJH claim Seri as his girlfriend now and vice versa?
