I really missed seeing them together. I had this kind of anticipation building up before Baeksang, the same feeling I had before each new CLOY episode. Now Baeksang is over, I am left with a hole in my heart again - when can I see them together again??? 
 

I am glad that they all looked happy and healthy - Hyun Bin seems to have lost a bit of weight since CLOY but he is still as handsome as ever. SYJ was stunning in that dress. I am not gonna lie I was a bit disappointed when I saw the first teaser of her dress - it was plain! But when she was walking on the red carpet in that dress, I immediately thought about that word from “CLOY” - “descended”. Yes, she descended from heaven above in my eyes.

This a cicle of  the roller coaster of shipping. Sometimes we are up, riding high in delulu, sometimes the ride is smoother, giving chance to think, reevaluate our conclusions and sometimes it is necesary to drop some ideas to continue in the ride. In top of that, we have to deal with trolls that have nothing better to do than disturb our peace. In this times we have to ask ourselves, what brought me here?  If it is only they chemestry acting in CLOY, thats not enough, your mood will be constantly up and down with the flimsiest of comments.

I'm not here because of CLOY, the forum or anyone comments. I'm a shipper because I've always follow HB's acting. I recognize him as great actor and a very gentlemanly, serius and conservative man. Super dedicated in his craft.  A person who changed a lot while he was maturing.  Then back in 2018's fall, I came across a clip of an interview in wich he was talking about the female lead of his latest movie. The way he describe his emotions on her acting, the desire to hace more on screen time with her and in another genre than the thriller they just filmed, seemed out of character for him and caught my attention. I search the internet until I found some interviews and clips from TN promotion, mostly in korean without english subs, but you didn't need much to understand the crush he had on her. The way he smiled to her, how he constantly look at her, his caring, mirroring , etc... All the things we all saw. I'm convinced he is a man in love. That's what he projects, that's the vibe anyone who watch him atentively can see and feel.

I learned her name is SYJ, and recognize her face from some movies I watched.(Love her in Spellbound and The truth beneath) And watch how she seemed to correspond to his feelings. Then I fell in love with them both, as I watched them becoming more close and comfortable with each other. Love how she help him out when he is without words. And how caring he is with her. 

Obviously, the Grocery shopping thousands of miles away from homeland is a confirmation of both. No need to analize the issue. Plus the photos and interactions when they are not acting,

 lost in their own world by themselves, are priceless. Then came CLOY and their and our dream came true. 

Now, even though we had months without seeing them, the interview sponsored by Smart was so revealing! I saw the same smile, the same look in his eyes when he talks about her. So its the same in 2018, 2019 and now 2020. The situation last night was not as open as we are acustomed, but, hello! They are in public in front of their peers and the world (via internet), in the midst of a  pandemia that doesn't wants to go. And in top of that they need to mantain a low profile because his names and carreers are on the line. Inspite of all this, we saw the eye smiles, the looks and that post awards interview. Read between the lines in their statements, I'm more than happy with what they gave us. 

I have faith in what I see. And what I saw and continue seeing is a couple in love, the terms of their relationship is up to them, but the feeling is there. 

Be happy, don't let anyone suck up your happines and ship responsably. Love is still on the air.

Sheeeshh.. There are still doubters here? I suggest you check your hearts and watch the footage all over again. Yes, yes, my moviegoer heart is so disappointed I felt we were robbed of that Best Actor award for Bin-ssi and Best Drama and the Daesang.  But my shipper heart is full. This picture alone is proof that will crush that "aloofness" thingy you all feeding yourself. They were given individual trophies but viola what is this? Let me spell it out. THEY DIDN'T WIN A COUPLE AWARD. The popularity award is given individually to a male and female celebrity. But this photo is screaming COUPLE!   Why share one trophy and pose proudly for posterity? Now, go gobble this candy or get out of this ship. Some of you are just pretending to be BINJIN shippers anyway.

Disappointed with the results even if the winners truly deserved the win! I am  more sorry  for HB for not winning the Best Actor Category! I think SYJ kinda knew that she wouldn't bag the Best Actress category when she nominated KHA on her Thanks Challenge and she said something like, " I respect Kim Hee Ae". 

I sensed some tension between them. Maybe HB wanted to declare their relationship and SYJ refused. Or her dress was too revealing  for him. She didn't even glance at him after their names were called. Usually, if you're just friends you would look at your co- winner and smile saying "we got it". Maybe she was upset because he was too busy and she wanted some  Me time. 

I wished they would marry soon and have children right away. The odds of having birth defects in late pregnancy is higher with age.

They both went home. SYJ comforting HB for losing.

Also want to take note that the snapshots of conversation going on were a lot considering they were sitting far apart. If they really wanted to ignore each other or be cold to each  other it would have been easy enough to not even look at each other and just face front but instead we still got them looking at each other, smiling, laughing with each other (at least to me that’s how it looked). Whether there’s a romantic relationship there or not we can see closeness. And I’ve been meaning to say something here before about SHARED LAUGHTER which they’ve had in spades in all the interviews and BTS — anyway it may have been diminished today because of the circumstances, but it’s definitely still there. Shared laughter is an essential element of close friendships and dare I say it, romance. So yeah, still shipping.

I just noticed as they were leaving their seats to head towards the stage, there was a path with a lot of cable cords and I think that was one of the reasons why he started to walk faster before they got closer to the stage/stairs. As we know from TN days, he always makes sure she doesn't trip over them  Honestly, how high are her heels? She is so tall   I suck wearing high heels. So I am always amazed how she walks so comfortably in them. I am the same height as her too

First of all we must understand that shipping in not for the faint-hearted. As “CLOY era” is comming to an end (we might have some other award shows left but will see.) also knowing how private they are out their personal life we will have less and less binjin content. But what we have already is almost undeniable proof from NT promotion flirting to grocery shoppig - choosing to make cloy despite the rumor - swoonies videos - cloy itself -behind the scenes -newest hb interview remembering and mention yejin when he could avoid it and lastly baeksang. The most beautiful moment was when she slightly turned to see if he was on her side and he made a proud side smile. Like can he be more obvious than that. 

 

[side note: to all those who were disappointed and felt they were cold with eachother:  They were infront of a public made up of their colleagues actor/actresses/ directors and we have already discussed how couples are not well accepted in the industry, any form of relation is considered scandal.  Moreover social distancing was one of the rules( the actors giving and receiving awards usually meet and hugh, this wasn’t allowed either) Plus we know how professional/ mature and private they are . With that said how could we expect them to behave differently........  and still we didn’t left empty handed......They shared glances, he followed her and let her take the lead, smiled  and laughed at each other, their acceptance speech were even similar and they said “we” when takling about fans so they know about binjin in a way.  Imagine it we had fancams also.]

 

back to the important talking.

We have to believe in binjin and pray for their happines. Let’s wish they overcome every obstacle and hardship in their relationship. Distance and work being one of them as they resume filming other projects apart from eachother. I believe they are destined to be and fate will be by their side. I know they love and treasure eachother and they will fight for what they have. Hopefully in the near future we can be surprised with  a happy announcement from them. Hopefully before they turn 40!! But until then we can only wait and pray, our ship is still strong and sailing.

Like most people, CLOY was my first Kdrama ever (I live in the US). I never really had an interest in Kdramas even during the Hallyu wave, and I was just prodded by my friend to at least watch just the first episode, and see if I like it. Well, 3 months, a thousand Google searches, and various SYJ/HB movies later, I am officially hooked to BinJin. Their chemistry is amazing, really top-notch, and CLOY's writing and direction is on par with any great Hollywood production, dare I say, even better than a lot of movies/shows Hollywood has been doing lately, because HW does not know how to write rom-coms and/or love stories anymore. They're only interested in superhero movies. So CLOY was such a breath of fresh air to watch here in the US.

 

And CLOY was my gateway to more amazing movies such as Be With You, Il Mare, Train to Busan, A Moment to Remember, Confidential Assignment, The Negotiation, etc. I never really had an interest in Asian movies and shows until after seeing CLOY. I think I exhausted all of SYJ's movies and dramas already (save for the really early ones that were hard to find).

Am giggling right now upon reading your insights. Am descendants here in Vancouver too where i have no any idea what K-drama is..One reason is no time to watch tv as sleeping is my best mode if time permits..Though I noticed my daughter that everytime  i come home, she is watching a tv series (CLOY) and the first thing that registered in my mind was the episode where the kissing scene in the boat happened..Then the Covid quarantine came ..My daughter encourage me to watch CLOY so i did..only I started first to watch epi-16 to reassist how is the ending if it passes to my taste..OH my, I fell inlove right away to yoon seri and RJH especially that goodbye scene at the border and that very cinematic and romantic reunion in swiz...I watched then 13x the entire episodes, scrutinizing all their previous movies and dramas and even downlaoded the CLOY OSTs including The Classic OST in my i-phone..i watched then all their BTS and interviews..I like the Classic, The Moment to Remember, The Last Princess, The Truth Beneath movies of SYJ..while The Negotiation, The Swindlers and The Confidential Assignment of Hyun Bin...In short, am now hooked to Korean filming..Bravo to these two excellent actors who swayed people around the Globe to be more aware what K-drama is and others..The Awarding last night whether the Baeksang accept it or not was a successfull screen viewers  due to them..reactions and comments say it all..Congrats BINJIN

This is why I warned everyone before not to have high expectation because you’ll just dream about impossible moments  and get disappointed in the end and making crazy assumptions.

And the fact that we knew BinJin is the type that actually value their privacy especially YJ and super professional in working environment...do you guys actually expect more.

Isn’t it more a giveaway that they actually acted more careful especially YJ who tend to don’t mind to interact freely with guys who she got rumoured with just like the situation with JHI.

And also the situation is not fitting to do anything tbh especially imagine how those people there for sure heard about their rumours wouldn’t you acted more careful too but the stealing glances,smiles and laughs isn’t that enough to know they’re doing good.

I don’t want to explain that much about these because people above have mentioned it too on why they acted this way but I just wanna say don’t compare their situation with SSC....
They clearly have a different approach on how to protect their relationship.I’m much happier with how BinJin handle it because couple who handle it more privately seem to last longer.One of the reasons SSC didn’t work out too it seems because the public are always watching them like a horserace...i think the pressure also got to them in some way.And to think about it I think it’s good that some shippers are doubting BinJin after this because then they can finally leave BinJin alone and not being too entitled and too demanding about their relationship.

Because that’s what I’ve seen now.We can assume things but not to the point that you read too much into every single details.And I believe BinJin actually keep track on us too especially after the speech they did...so be careful on what you do and say that may hurt their feelings or image.
 

As for CLOY and BinJin not winning main awards,the competition were tough but i think because CLOY is abit controversial too because of SK/NK situation,It’s a tricky situation.I know that BinJin are disappointed but I hope they know that CLOY and BinJin impact worldwide is real and there’s always next time and there’s more award shows to come.Honestly, about them getting popularity awards and which means they won’t get main awards..that’s not actually that true..I remember YJ actually won the voting for popularity awards back then but because she won Best Actress too it was given to someone else...So I’m sure if the judges were really to given them the main awards in the first place,popularity awards will be given to someone else.It’s just not their luck this time with the Main Awards.So I think they really appreciate our effort with atleast giving them these if not they would leave empty handed which is worse.

I personally still believe in BinJin even more now because of how I see them at Baeksang but I prefer to help them and protect them by giving them space and more privacy instead.As for the faint hearted shippers,maybe it’s good that you are like that so you can finally help them by giving them some space and not getting into their business too much.

For those strong shippers,let’s keep supporting them

(I love how HB especially trying so hard to not be obvious but the minute he looked at YJ,his effort kind of failed because we can see the genuine love from his eyes and smile...especially during the Backstage Interview you clearly can see how hard he’s trying to control his reaction but failed too...It was twice how he quickly looked and smiled at her but all of sudden immediately look at the front with Pokerface again...at the end he gave up abit and smiling while looking at the trophy anyway lmao)

Gosh, am I the only one who did not see any awkwardness or coldness between HB and SYJ? I think some shippers are putting too much meaning to their every single move. First of all, they are sitting at least 3ft apart, they cannot even have any conversation during the ceremony, never mind beng lovey dovey. The event was very low key and void of the usual glitz. I also noticed that everyone was somewhat subdued, not just HB and SYJ.

 

We are not privy to what is happening behind the scenes but we can only hope that they are in fact ”together”. I am however thankful to see the smiles and glances that were exchanged between them last night. I still believe.

I left the forum to go to bed and then woke up super early - and thought of checking things out.
 

Sure I saw some posts which are unsavory and as much as I want to do the usual snip snip, I would rather address this thing properly. I know there are lurkers here too, so hey, before you tweet or do your magnum opus or Insta-beyotchh about it, please do listen up.

 

It’s been a while since I write or dissect anything fandom-y, and I am so not in the mood of doing that as much lately because honestly, I just want to enjoy the ride.

 

That being said, it kind of sucks to see some entitled behavior flying around.

 

Take it like this: you’re a professional and you’re attending a work-related event, say an annual general meeting with shareholders. Sure, there’s one guy / girl colleague who happens to be really close to you and you guys can really talk about anything and everything under the sun, but would you flirt with her or touch her unnecessarily? No, right? It’s an official event - would you want to take away the key agenda of the meeting ie to pass resolutions and make the focus of the day to be you and this colleague of yours? No, right? It’s not part of the agenda.

 

It’s an awards show celebrating the best of the best in Korean Showbiz. He’s going there as part of his duty as Hyun Bin, the actor. The event overall has a somber theme and social distancing is being practiced throughout. He’s having a good time with his fellow peers celebrating the best of the best.

 

To those who were so busy looking at candies, or saying that he is cold, or starting to spread unnecessary rumours about him, I have 2 questions to ask.

 

One, haven’t you heard his speech? How thankful he is to his fans and how he is genuinely concerned about Covid-19? He takes both his fans and the recent events seriously, and he made it clear in his acceptance speech? 

 

Two, how very entitled of a ~fan are you? As an actor, he is answerable to you under the pretext of his occupation as an actor. And he bloody well executed it. There’s always time and place for everything. It is not his duty to give you candies. Who do you think he is, Willy Wonka?

 

Do these complainants think that it is proper to overshadow the event with the intimate stories and skinship? Do these complainants have any respect at all?

 

Please do respect the venue, respect the event, and respect the actors.

 

Regardless whatever the relationship status they have, they share a common objective here (at least during the event) - they are aware of your support as fans of them, which they are appreciative of and acknowledged them publicly. Joint speech or not. You’re being recognized by them for all your support, in front of all their peers - wouldn’t that be enough? What sort of recognition do you really want?

 

None of us really know the real Mr Kim (or even Ms Son) and none of us have any power to do anything against them. I’ve repeatedly said here that it is their lives - let them decide it themselves. We have zero control over it, zero say on anything, let alone to demand them to do whatever to our whim and fancy.

 

We know them as their stage names. Not their off-duty selves.

 

Their real selves are meant for them, and them only.

 

Just let them be. It is their lives at the end of the day. Don’t meddle it, neither do you throw personal judgey on it - take care of your own personal lives first. They don’t need those negativities. Let them deal with it themselves ok.

 

I personally enjoyed the show and find nothing wrong with them. They’re alright, alive and well  That’s good enough for me

However, in my opinion, they looked extremely uncomfortable with one another. I thought I was the only one after seeing the show, but many people (especially in the IG comments under the videos) also felt the weird vibes/bad energy between them (and this was an overall feeling, so without looking at every move/details).
