This forum has a mix of everyone- shippers, haters, posers who are actually haters but acting as shippers and bringing down the mood. 

 

We all should just relax.  Binjin  were happy about the win today. And it was really special for them ( in their own words) because of the massive internet breaking love they have received together from fans. They of course were professional and low-key, given 

 

1) The covid situation happening in the world where people are suffering 

 

2) The massive interest they receive from fans where every gesture, every gaze is analyzed & made into social media videos and becomes the topic of discussion & gossip.

 

3) Overall respect for their colleagues & fellow winners of Baeksang, because they know that any action they make here ( hand-holding, any words ) will overshadow the work and awards of others as media reports will end up being about them only. 

 

Both Bin & Jin are reading our comments and posts on social media. They know we worked hard on our phones & computers over nights to vote for them and make them win. They know we are not just Korean fans but fans from all over the world.

I am sure they must be very grateful for that- whether as a real-life couple  or even as a reel-life couple, because the love from fans is the real power that makes them superstars and helps them be more bankable & be more sought after by producers, directors & writers. 

 

For us fans, it is the biggest acknowledgement from them today. No wonder we had someone asking us to delete certain posts the other day, anything we post here is being read by them and affects them as well ( @ElectricHearts will agree) 

 

Let's just ignore all our delulu minds and the naysayers and celebrate the beautiful win today.  

 

I am sure a lot of shippers in other forums would kill to have a day like this, in fact many of them have resorted to any means of linking things just to sink this ship.  

 

Let's just celebrate the beautiful, warm chemistry of BinJin and look forward to them working or being together soon.

@TotoroSY we think alike! haha. was scratching my head too over some of the things i was reading here and on twitter. 

@lavanta I don't think people will ever be satisfied until they admit it. In reality, celebrities wont admit until there's proof beyond reasonable doubt (like pictures holding hands etc). haha.  In the states, even if celebs are caught holding hands they may not admit anything because they don't want to talk about their personal lives.

 

I think one of the reasons people here tend to nitpick is the lack of "content" from them. Unlike in europe or the US where you get paparazzi pictures often, in korea you don't unless it's a big reveal. So people tend to speculate during public appearances, interviews etc which in reality are all staged to an extent. All these celebs are aware of their every move because they know they are being closely watched esp in Korea. Celebs only let us see what they want us too see. That's part of their PR and branding.  I just find it funny that people nitpick over this when they have a stolen grocery picture which basically says it all. That's HB and SYJ in their uninhibited nature. haha.

We never know if we will actually see them together again for CLOY related stuff. Completely agree with @binyeji to just enjoy the fact that they were both drop-dead gorgeous, that we saw them together after A LONG TIME,  and celebrate the win + the acceptance speech. Let's not be part of those spreading groundless rumors.

Let's keep things light & fun without going overboard.

How are you guys? Personally, I need time to gather my thoughts and process my emotions. But first things first! Still can’t get over how they matched! Ye Jin’s gold (champagne gold?) dress, plus those earrings; and Hyun Bin’s midnight blue (I ain’t calling it navy blue anymore) tux, plus those shoes? This video has been watched before... Still, I am sharing it again because I want to share the following thoughts: 
 

1- HB is not cold. He is the gentleman that he has always been. He is been the quiet and respectful person that he is. And in this event he has many reasons to maintain his seriousness: because he is taking seriously this moment, because they want to be lowkey and private about their relationship (close friendship or whatever they want to call it... we must remember that it’s their private life and they cherish and want to protect their privacy), also because of his respect to the Awards event and because of the Covid situation. 

2- I don’t see awkwardness at all... I see TWO PROFESSIONALS in a FORMAL EVENT. They don’t want to overshadow the moment and that people focus in their relationship. They don’t want that people get distracted. As the true professionals that they are, they want to stay focus in the event.
3- He is protective as always with her... you may see it clearly when they were walking, he speeded up to be more close and he watched her steps. That’s why also this time he walked after her. 
4- They still exchanged small gazes and smiles... subtlety but full of good vibes.

5- The wording they chose for their speeches (using « us »), I felt warmth and contentment in their words.

6- Let’s remember that he has been very busy filming... he was tired.

7- Just before starting to walk for receiving their awards, he was waiting for her movements. That sooo touching. 
 

LET’S ENJOY THIS SHIP, but let’s stay responsible shippers please. And also, let’s be TRUE FANS, they are looking happy. Let’s be patient and we have to remember that they have wanted privacy since the beginning... everyone deserves and wants privacy, right? 

In my opinion, they have something really special and they just want to protect it with privacy. Let’s wait and be patient

One thing about their interaction that I loved was how on their way to the stage to accept their award, he let her lead and walked behind her while making sure she made it up the stairs safely. It’s symbolic of their relationship - he is secure enough in himself as a man to sit back sometimes and let her take the lead.

As my first observation, yes they looked reserved and formal same as others who attended the event...most probably it came or requested by the organizers to everyone since the country and the rest of the world are experiencing this covid pandemic, they want it more formal, simple and not too much glamorized the event. As for the Bin and Jin, i think they just being professional that's it.

Firstly, the fact that they were acting more professional and less friendly to one another is, to me, more of a give-a-way that they are trying to hide their relationship. It’s almost like they tried their best not to get caught. As they are very aware of how fans scrutinized their every move, it seems they learned from all that and tried not to be very transparent with their feelings. Secondly, I also believe that they are mature and professional actors in the presence of colleagues who are very respectable. I think they wouldn’t dare act all flirty in front of these respectable colleagues as it isn’t professional. So, please don’t feel discouraged or disheartened with the way they acted with one another. I think that the future is bright with our binjin couple!!!!!

first, he watched and waited for her to make the first movement, then he walked behind her (protective mode), and he even walked faster to get closer when she was arriving to the stairs.

Hello BinJin Nation! 
For those who think that HB was aloof and cold during the awards night this is the reason.

She had her way—she wore the dress! 

 

Kidding aside, I just want to share how I felt with what happened this morning (2 am my time). I pulled an all nighter and took vacation day just for love of BinJin. To be honest, I was feeling a bit worried about what I saw on the show but then of course there was the physical distancing thing to consider. They are professionals and they didnt want to draw much attention to themselves so I can see that they really put in effort to behave accordingly. After reading the 10 pages and seeing all the clips and candid pictures my doubts evaporated into thin air.   I love their speeches and appreciate how they acknowledged their international fans as well.

I am so glad I found this forum. You guys are amazing! I  love the fellowship and the uplifting posts. A pat on our backs for securing that popularity award for them. I truly believe this ship is sailing smoothly. We just have to keep the faith, wait and pray desperately that we will hear something from them in their own sweet time.

Things they aren't suppose to do

- Red carpet: It was always mentioned how it was a smaller affair. How it was going to be limited cameras and they were going to from one drop of to another. So why would they arrive together and hold hands in that kind of setting? If they do, media will just immediately talk about them being a couple and would only focus on them throughout the award show. And it would put more of a bad look on CLOY 

- have you seen her dress?! It looks so good on her. Do you want him to keep starring at her during the award show? And suddenly the cameras are on him lol. He already knows his facial expressions and stares gives him away. To the point we analyze his every little detail on his face LOL. If he becomes stiff, we know he is lying or hiding something. So best for him to be natural.  So starring at the stage is the best way to concentrate. If you watch clips from 2019 Baeksang, you can see he intensely watches what is happening on stage

    - This is why SYJ does her subtle looks at him more (from the pics). She doesn't give it away as much as he does. He can stare at her for the longest since TN days of 19 secs lol

- if they make conversation during the awards while they're cameras on them: people will wonder why they are talking to each other and not focusing on the award show

- The part where the kids were singing. You can see them both getting emotional watching. However, since they are also focusing on the stage and a meter away, they aren't going to look at each other or talk to each other either.

 

There was a commercial break. We will never know what happened then. What happened backstage after receiving the award? Who knows!

 

This is why we got more interactions with them as they were going to accept the award, small glimpse when they arrived on stage and what we could see them talking to each other after they were done their speeches - but the camera zoom out immediately!!

 

They value privacy a lot. Why would they jeopardize that in front of their mutual friends and peers at an award show where they are supporting a show they worked tirelessly and long hours each day on and which now has international buzz worldwide. You see from their speeches they are fine with not receiving acting awards. They can see how much we love the show, them as actors/as RiRi couple and BinJin. They will continue to bring us more future works for us to love.

Just imagine and put yourself in his shoes, just for a second, if you are a humble actor who does not like the limelight on you ever and you attend a live award ceremony just trying to be yourself and all people want to see and care about is if you would act all intimate and skinship with another professional actress irregardless of the relationship status quo while all you could think of is the safety of everyone in this covid19 outbreak while paying full attention to what’s going on stage, respecting every single winner standing up there and enjoying your night whether ornot you bag home any trophy. 
and when all these don’t manifest and they don’t get the candies they want, they hurl abuses at you calling you names......
 

Does anyone know the real KTP here before they even think of him that way? Does anyone even realize that when he appears in public, he is Hyun Bin the actor and not as KTP? And that he does not want to showcase his personal life as Hyun Bin the actor? 
Well, I do so I just let him be himself truly. Please do not make him doubt himself with negative comments because obviously you don’t even know him. 
I can safely tell you this, even if one day he is married and even with kids and appear publicly, he still will not show you his most private side, because he knows clearly that once he steps out, people see him as Hyun Bin the actor and not KTP forever as long as he resides in South Korea.

PS: People wonder why he was teary eyed when he accepted the popular award, because he didn’t expect this much love from fans around the world amidst the covid19 outbreak. He is more worried for the safety of everyone and was more than touched that everyone made that effort for him. He was one of the first to donate for covid19 but hid it and wrote a letter in multiple languages to cheer everyone up and reminded everyone to stay safe because he cared about each and every one of you whether or not you like him.

Yes same here.  I in fact tried to watch her acceptance video on YT too. Unfortunately it doesn't have any eng subtitles. 

 

Just love and like everyone in CLOY. She was a contender for the main lead, but made her character very relatable and we in fact ended up rooting for her.

Hi everyone! Long-time lurker here, but first time posting. Like most people, CLOY was my first Kdrama ever (I live in the US). I never really had an interest in Kdramas even during the Hallyu wave, and I was just prodded by my friend to at least watch just the first episode, and see if I like it. Well, 3 months, a thousand Google searches, and various SYJ/HB movies later, I am officially hooked to BinJin. Their chemistry is amazing, really top-notch, and CLOY's writing and direction is on par with any great Hollywood production, dare I say, even better than a lot of movies/shows Hollywood has been doing lately, because HW does not know how to write rom-coms and/or love stories anymore. They're only interested in superhero movies. So CLOY was such a breath of fresh air to watch here in the US.

 

And CLOY was my gateway to more amazing movies such as Be With You, Il Mare, Train to Busan, A Moment to Remember, Confidential Assignment, The Negotiation, etc. I never really had an interest in Asian movies and shows until after seeing CLOY. I think I exhausted all of SYJ's movies and dramas already (save for the really early ones that were hard to find). She is my new girl crush!

 

So yes, I am slightly disappointed that they didn't win any major awards last night. Maybe it was indeed received differently in Korea than the rest of the world, but I can attest at least in my circle here in the US that CLOY really is a global phenomenon. I haven't seen NBC News (which is one of the four major broadcast news network and media here in the US) write an article about a Kdrama ever, but they did for CLOY.  And a lot of US Media has covered CLOY such as Washington Post, The Guardian, Variety, etc. Lots of my friends were Kdrama virgins, so to speak, and CLOY was their first. And like that old saying goes, you never forget your first. 

 

Question to our Korea friends here - what is the difference between the Grand Prize vs. Best Drama? Shouldn't it automatically mean that the Best Drama is the top prize, and therefore the Grand Prize? My baseline is the Oscars and so if a film wins Best Picture, it's the best and grandest prize a movie could get in a year, it's the peak and there is nothing higher than that. 

 

On another note, it was great to see the two of them last night, looking dapper and happy. I see that SYJ has kept her long hair as YSR. HB looked like he slimmed down a little from Captain Ri's build. I loved, loved SYJ's gown!!! And I am so envious of her built, most especially her toned shoulders and arms that were really accentuated by the dress. SYJ has inspired me to work out later today after slacking off the past two days. 

 

I hope to see more of them together, and separately, in the near future! Get on that next movie, SYJ!!!

I am going to place my bet here and now, bookmark it, and then I'm going to try to take some breaks from the forum negativity that is found in waiting forever for confirmation. (Time drags on with silence breeding doubt, but our RiRi couple is just living life! They probably think we need a new hobby so that every minute we don't witness a receipt does not become proof of their collapse!) I will number my thoughts and be done with it:

 

1. They are very wise professionals who know how to act appropriately, and they are COVID and CLOY respectful. It was not a light event. The seating alone was extra intimidating. They were adorably understated and appropriate, earning the respect of all no doubt. And they seemed to feel free to clap and smile for the CLOY winners (Seo Dan and ajumma) due to being team players.

2.  They have received info on or watched plenty of teasing, speculation, receipts of their lovey dovey behavior, so there is no doubt--their management teams would make them fully aware--of what "not" to do to seem gaga for each other, especially HB who has been told over and over about the staring and smiling and mirroring. We taught them what NOT to do so as to stay secret, so we can't doubt them just because they learned from their mistakes.

3.  Those outfits matched like two people going to prom. That was carefully orchestrated team work. They looked like the bride and groom on top of a wedding cake, absolutely gorgeous. You wouldn't do that post-break up. No, no, no.

4.  They were on their very, very best behavior, so much so that I thought, "Those who have nothing to hide are not nearly so guarded." It was as if they had planned exactly how much to talk and interact and look at each other ahead of time, like they were trying hard to not look and had to make a full-time effort! You only do that if you have a shared secret to protect, not a breakup! Ugh! No way. They had a plan in place, it was obvious. That's why she was so casual with former costars. Uhhh, Binni is not JUST a costar. They were protecting their truth.

5.  Binssi's adorable smile when Ye Jin glanced back at him on stage was very, very warm. Someone said he seemed like he had moved on to a new relationship???? I'm sorry but I laughed outloud reading that. His entire face filled with warmth in that one tiny moment when Ye Jin glanced back. He gave himself away. He is so very drawn to her personality that it would take him years to move on from her, but Ye Jin will not let him go. He truly loves her, you can feel it.

6.  His smile also said, "Ahhh, my girl broke her rule! She looked at me!" He felt a little happy and smug because I think he is always accused of giving receipts and not being as in control. He was happy to see her "need" to steal a glance at him for support. Ye Jin is so strong and determined. I bet he likes to see her have a little weakness for him sometimes. These "no looking, no touching" rules are ALL Ye Jin. That's her personality, that is obvious. She lives very purposefully.

7.  The "we" and the "we" in their speeches. Yep, they are speaking that way these days as they have grown close. They know they are a "we."

8.  And HB's Smart interview was all Ye Jin kindness and respect and warmth. His feels are still there in abundance!!! Daddy is just working hard, doing as he's told.

 

And so . . .

9.  In my mind, they are currently planning their wedding. I feel like Ye Jin is very controlling in how she lives and shares her life--very giving when appropriate and very "my time" when not. She has firm boundaries and keeps her sanity that way. 

10.  They will reveal in their own way and in their own time. This is important to her, and HB trusts her judgment. We may wait quite a while so that things are as she wants them to be--CLOY, Covid, family concerns, work considerations. Who knows? But this seems to explain the break she is taking--for sanity, rest, and planning. 

11.  They were so, SO in sync last night that it seemed obvious that they are in the 'control and plan the message' stage. Very understandable. 

12.  For me it is about waiting the weeks or months until they release a wedding photo. In my mind, that's how it will happen. I am guessing September. Ugh. Long summer.

 

Say what you will, Shippers, but I think this cruise liner is in very clear and calm waters, docking in the next few months. I will just try to take breaks from caring about people I've never even met and remember to enjoy my own life. They would want me to do that, lol! If anything, just so they can breathe for a minute! Being engaged and planning a wedding is so much fun, such a joyous time of being in love and excited about your life. I would NEVER want them to rush this time in their relationship!!! I feel like HB lives very honestly and struggles to hide things, so he is just naturally ready to show off his happiness. It feels like he's ready for that new stage in life. But SYJ is not like that with her fame and has always maintained firm boundaries around her personal life, so of course planning a wedding would be done that way. I'm sure it's hard for HB to conceal all of this, but you can tell her happiness is what matters to him. Yep, sail on my cuties! Can't wait for the wedding photo!
