‘철인왕후’는 2016년 중국에서 방영된 웹드라마가 원작으로 국내에서 판권을 구매해 새롭게 각색한 작품이다.

 

윤성식은 이에 대해 “원작 판권을 가지고 기획할 때는 현대 남성의 영혼, 특히 바람둥이 남성의 영혼이 세자비에게 들어간다는 설정만 가져왔다”며 “나머지 스토리나 이야기 장면은 전혀 다르다고 볼 수 있다. 원작은 B급 섹시 코미디에 주안점을 뒀지만 저희는 보편적인 감성으로 접근해야 했기에 섹시 코드는 15세 관람가 수준으로 순화시키고 소용과 철종이 벌이는 쇼윈도 부부로서의 케미, 요리를 둘러싼 이야기, 철종의 비밀과 꿈에 대한 이야기, 원래 철종과 왕후가 철저히 싫어하는데서 벌어지는 반전들을 새로 가미했다”고 귀띔했다.

'Queen Cheorin' is a new adaptation of a web drama that aired in China in 2016, and the copyright was purchased (to remake) in Korea.

Director Yoon Sung Shik said “When planning with the original copyright, we only brought the set-up that the soul of a modern man, especially a playboy entered the crown princess” And “The rest of the story and scenes can be seen as completely different. The original work focused on B-class sexy comedy, but we had to approach it with a universal sensibility, so the sexy code was refined to the level of a 15-year-old viewer rate, and the chemistry of So Yong and Cheol Jong as a show-window couple, surrounding story of cooking, story of Cheol Jong's secret and dream, and the unfolding twists were added to the original story of utter dislike between Cheol Jong and the queen."

 

“코미디를 표방한 퓨전사극이다. 퓨전이라는 점을 염두에 두고 시청해주셨으면 좋겠다”며 “역사 속 실존 인물들의 역사적 사실보다는 현대의 영혼이 특정 역할에 들어갔을 때 벌어지는 이야기와 파장이 일어났을 경우, 그래서 현실이 달라질 수 있을지에 대한 상상, 기대에서 이야기를 출발시키고 싶었다. 특히 철종을 고른 건 철종이 조선 시대가 가장 쇠퇴했을 때 등장한 유약한 임금이었기 때문. 그런 임금이 현실을 변화시킬 수 있을 파장을 만난다면, 그래서 미래가 달라질 수 있다면 어떨까란 상상과 소망에서 택했다”

It is a fusion historical drama with comedy. I wish you watch it with the word fusion in mind. It's the scenario that takes place when the modern soul enters a specific role rather than the historical facts of real people in history, so I wanted to start the story from the imagination and expectation of what could be different from reality. In particular, Cheol Jong was chosen because Cheol Jong appeared as a weak king at the time that Joseon Dynasty declined most. If such a king meets an impact that can change reality, so I chose from imagination and hope to see what if the future could be different.

Shin Hye Sun And Kim Jung Hyun Talk About Teaming Up For New Drama “Mr. Queen”

Shin Hye Sun and Kim Jung Hyun spoke about working together on their upcoming historical fusion drama “Mr. Queen”!

Shin Hye Sun stars in the tvN drama as Kim So Yong, the Joseon queen with the soul of Jang Bong Hwan, a chef who works in the Blue House. Kim Jung Hyun takes the role of King Cheoljong, who is a weak and ineffective king on the outside but is stronger and sharper than he appears.

An online press conference was held for the drama on December 9, and the two stars took part along with Director Yoon Sung Sik. The director stated, “Shin Hye Sun’s acting skills really take the character of So Yong to the next level. She plays a very new character that you should look forward to.”

He continued, “To be honest, I thought that Cheoljong would be a hard character to portray. He lives with pain from his childhood that he hides. He’s a complex and difficult character.” The director added, “I knew that Kim Jung Hyun was a master performer but that was once again made clear to me.”

On the topic of the difference between the drama and the Chinese original show, Yoon Jung Sik stated, “When we were in the planning stages, we just used the set-up that the soul of a womanizing man took over the body of a queen. The rest of the story is completely different.”

Shin Hye Sun is taking on a historical drama for the first time through “Mr. Queen.” She shared, “I had a romantic idea about wearing hanbok (traditional clothing) and speaking in a tone used in historical dramas, and I was able to achieve my dream about wearing hanbok. I do things that would seem impertinent to people in the Joseon dynasty, but it’s portrayed in a fun way.”

She shared, “The script gave me two feelings. It was so fun to read and it was thrilling too. I thought that it would be fun to watch it as a viewer. On the other hand, it seemed very hard when I thought about what it would be like if I took on the role. I thought it would be difficult to talk, walk, and even breathe.”
