Flex x Cop: Episodes 13-14 by DaebakGrits When a man drops dead outside our chaebol’s family home, our detectives are more motivated than ever to find the killer, but in the back of everyone’s mind is the fear that maybe someone from our chaebol’s family is involved. EPISODES 13-14 After closing the murderous cult case and restoring Hyung-joon’s reputation, life at the police station returns to normal — aside from the fact that Hyung-joon is now a senior superintendent and Team One’s boss. And the fact that Yi-soo and Jun-young are now using banmal and trying to not make a big deal about it. And the fact that Kang-hyun’s eyes linger after Yi-soo when he leaves a room because she’s totally thinking about their near-death experience and how he gave her mouth-to-mouth. Okay, so a lot has changed in the last few days, but nothing that’s going to threaten Team One’s camaraderie or prevent them from being a kick-RickRoll'D detective squad. (Right? Right?!) About that… Team One is assigned their next murder case, and the victim’s body was found on the grounds of Chairman Jin’s house. No one was more surprised than Yi-soo when Kang-hyun parked her dirt-mobile outside his father’s house. Some of his initial fear is alleviated when Kang-hyun assures him that their latest victim is an outsider — not one of his family members — but there’s still the very real possibility that someone in his family could be involved. That thought weighs heavily — but unspoken — on everyone’s minds. Yi-soo’s noticeably reserved when he enters his family home and struggles to retain his objectivity. Of course, he can always count on his stepmother to put him in his place. Hee-ja, who’s nursing her shock with a large glass of wine, immediately goes on the verbal attack when she sees Yi-soo, and for once — and in case there was any doubt that Yi-soo was off his game — he doesn’t have a witty comeback locked and loaded. Instead, Kang-hyun deftly intervenes and reminds Yi-soo’s evil step-mother that they’re investigating a murder and need to ask her some questions. Hee-ja, like the rest of Yi-soo’s family, claims she doesn’t know the dead guy, but it’s kind of hard to believe that there isn’t a hidden personal connection. After all, the victim drove himself to their house, climbed over a wall, and died on their front lawn from a wound that, according to Ji-won, would not have been fatal if he’d driven himself to a hospital instead. Jun-young, who knows a little bit about knife wounds, muses aloud that Wall Climber must have had a strong reason for ignoring the pain and driving himself to Chairman Jin’s house. Ji-won gives Jun-young a look — part curiosity, part smoldering intensity — and Jun-young explains he was stabbed once. Then she — omo! — asks to see his scar! Given Jun-young’s momentary shyness, I thought for sure we were about to glimpse some chocolate abs and amp up the sexual tension in the admittedly awkward setting of the autopsy room, but Jun-young lifts his shirt sleeve and flashes his upper bicep instead. A bit anticlimactic after all the verbal foreplay, but the unintended comedy of the scene tickled my funny bone. These two are killin’ me! As the case progresses, Team One discovers Wall Climber was a gambler who owed some gangsters a lot of money, and they ponder the possibility that he was stabbed in order to motivate him to pay his debts. But then Wall Climber’s phone records come in, and the last number he dialed belonged to Seung-joo. (Nooooooooooooo! Say it isn’t so, Seung-joo!) Yi-soo volunteers to question his brother, and this time Seung-joo recognizes Wall Climber as someone he’d met and exchanged business cards with at the publication party for Chairman Jin’s autobiography. Seung-joo swears that’s the first — and last — time he met Wall Climber. Yi-soo wants to believe his brother — so do I! — but doubt lingers in the back of Yi-soo’s mind. Before leaving Hansu headquarters, Yi-soo stops by the building’s security office and requests a copy of the CCTV footage on the day of the publication party. It’s true Wall Climber was at the party, but there’s also footage of Seung-joo getting aggressive with him. more https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/03/flex-x-cop-episodes-13-14/ -
Noh Sang Hyun In Talks To Join Suzy And Kim Woo Bin’s Upcoming Rom-Com By “The Glory” Writer TV/Film Mar 18, 2024 by M. Lim Noh Sang Hyun may be starring in a new rom-com alongside Kim Woo Bin and Suzy! On March 18, News1 reported that Noh Sang Hyun will be starring as one of the leads in scriptwriter Kim Eun Sook’s new drama “All Your Wishes Come True” (literal title). In response to the report, a representative of Noh Sang Hyun’s agency Echo Global Group shared, “Noh Sang Hyun is positively reviewing the offer to star in ‘All Your Wishes Come True.’” “All Your Wishes Come True” is a fantasy rom-com about an overly emotional genie trapped inside a lamp and the woman who helps him escape his prison. Previously, it was confirmed that Kim Woo Bin will be starring as the volatile genie, while Suzy will play Ga Young, a human who lacks emotion. Ahn Eun Jin is currently positively considering an offer to play a mysterious woman who lives under the same roof as Ga Young. Noh Sang Hyun is reportedly in talks to play a character entangled in a rivalry with a complex backstory involving Kim Woo Bin’s genie, who was once like a brother to him but has now become a stranger. The drama will be penned by Kim Eun Sook, the famous writer known for hit dramas such as “The Glory,” “Goblin,” “Mister Sunshine,” and “Heirs” (which also starred Kim Woo Bin), and it will be helmed by director Lee Byung Hun of “Extreme Job” and “Melo Is My Nature.” “All Your Wishes Come True” is reported to premiere in 2024 as a 12-part series. https://www.soompi.com/article/1649437wpp/noh-sang-hyun-in-talks-to-join-suzy-and-kim-woo-bins-upcoming-rom-com-by-the-glory-writer

Team Dramabeans: What we’re watching (March 16, 2024) by DB Staff So, what are we all watching this week? What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in… DaebakGrits Wedding Impossible: The longer I watch this drama, the more anxious I get that Ah-jung’s fake marriage is going to reach a point of no return and things are going to publically implode for one or more of the leading characters. This is one of those stories, where I know it will end happily, but to get there the story is first going to drag me through a series of lies and misunderstandings that will likely drive me bonkers. And then there’s Chae-won. At times, I like her and feel bad that she won’t be Ji-han’s end game, but then she goes and makes a secret deal with his grandfather, and then I’m like, “Oh, you’re going to have a jealous streak, aren’t you?” I’m here for Ah-jung and Ji-han’s banter, but I can only take so much unnecessary drama. https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/03/team-dramabeans-what-were-watching-march-16-2024/

Team Dramabeans: What we’re watching (March 16, 2024) by DB Staff So, what are we all watching this week? What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in… javabeans The Impossible Heir: I have to revise what I said in my first impressions — Hong Su-ju IS the worst. Is she trying to be smug all the time, or is that just her natural state? She annoyed me so much every time she came onscreen that it overtook the plot, and I figured I don’t need this kind of negativity in my life. That impatience might have been mitigated if the boys ever seemed to do cool master plan stuff more than they talked about cool master plan stuff. But alas. https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/03/team-dramabeans-what-were-watching-march-16-2024/

Wonderful World: Episodes 5-6 by solstices Wounded by a devastating secret, our heroine struggles to reconcile the harsh reality with the lies she’d been living. Her resilience may allow her to regain her bearings, but the pursuit of the truth comes at a price — and she’s not the only one with skeletons in her closet. EPISODES 5-6 Confronted with her husband’s infidelity before her very eyes, Soo-hyun sends Soo-ho an ominous text that she knows who he’s with, but she doesn’t elaborate further. We see that no hanky-panky seems to have occurred, but Soo-hyun remains unaware of what exactly went on behind those closed doors. That night, Soo-hyun immediately pays Hye-geum a visit — and I love that she first checks to make sure that Hye-geum’s son is asleep — to confront her about the affair. Hye-geum admits that she’d given in to impulse, wanting to comfort Soo-ho in his grief, and that it’d only happened once during Soo-hyun and Soo-ho’s separation. The hotel meeting was only to confirm that she wasn’t the photo sender, Hye-geum claims, but Soo-hyun remains adamant that she never wants to see her again. A distraught Soo-hyun spends the night at her mother’s house, where she resolutely rips up Mom’s copy of the affair photo. Still, she can’t get it off her mind. When she pieces it back together, she notices printed text on the back that hadn’t been on the first copy. It’s a website url that leads to a news article about a hit-and-run, and she contacts the reporter, who gives her the name of the accident victim. With help from Soo-jin’s tracing of Min-hyuk’s criminal records, Seon-yul finds the elusive boy at an illegal gambling den. A timely police crackdown gets Min-hyuk away from the owner’s fisticuffs, but in the process of escaping, Min-hyuk gets impaled by a rusty nail. It goes right through his abdomen, and Seon-yul winds up driving him to the hospital. That hospital is the exact one Soo-hyun has tracked the accident victim to, and when she enters the ward, she’s distraught to recognize her as the wife of the driver that killed Geon-woo. Before she can recover from her shock, she’s greeted with an unexpected visitor — Seon-yul. Then the patient suddenly flatlines, and Seon-yul’s anguished panic reveals far more than he intends to let on. Elsewhere, Soo-ho apologizes fervently to Mom, tears of guilt and regret spilling from his eyes. He should have been the one behind the wheel and the one who went to prison, not Soo-hyun. Yet, when faced with nothing but an empty house, the grief and loneliness had made him lose his mind. Overhearing Soo-ho’s heartfelt spiel from just around the corner, Soo-hyun finally comes to a decision. The next day, she returns to her stunned spouse. Having pulled herself together, Soo-hyun candidly admits that what hurt her most hadn’t been the affair itself, but Soo-ho’s deceit. She won’t be able to erase this betrayal easily, but she’s decided that she wants to try moving past it. Touched, and deeply grateful, Soo-ho welcomes her back home. As for our other protagonist, there isn’t a moment’s respite for him. Thugs have tracked down the debt-ridden Min-hyuk, Seon-yul bursts into the hospital ward just in time to stop them from forging a physical rights waiver form with the unconscious Min-hyuk’s thumbprint. Needless to say, a fight ensues, and once again, Soo-hyun witnesses it. When she concernedly chastises him to take better care of himself, Seon-yul snaps that she ought to mind her own business. “What right do you have to give me advice?” Seon-yul snarls. “You’re a murderer.” The next day, Soo-hyun visits him at the junkyard with a container of homemade kimchi as an apology. Having had some time to cool off, Seon-yul reciprocates, expressing remorse for his harsh words. When Soo-hyun asks about his distraught reaction to the accident victim, he explains that the patient’s son had also been in the hospital that day, and he hadn’t wanted to let a kindred spirit lose his mother too. more https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/03/wonderful-world-episodes-5-6/

News bites: March 16, 2024 by tccolb If anyone is keeping a tally, we can make another tick in the 1990s box for the next era we’ll be exploring in dramaland through JTBC’s new Sales of Virtue (roughly translated). With Kim Sung-ryung (Kill Heel) confirmed and offers currently out to Kim So-yeon (Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938) and Lee Se-hee (Bad Prosecutor), the story will have our trio of ladies leading the spicy door-to-door sales of adult wares. [Newsen (1), (2)] https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/03/news-bites-march-16-2024/ ******* It is possible to not hear any more news about the drama for a long time. They always do that. They give more news when the airing date will get close. It is good that we know she will do another drama. SBS decided to cancel the Monday-Tuesday slot for the second half of 2023. I think that`s why we got delayed news about it. I am glad JTBC took the drama.

HYNN (Park Hye-won) releases ‘Let’s Get Caught by the Collar’ OST ‘Wound’ on the 18th Singer HYNN (Park Hye-won) will be the first performer of the OST for ‘Let’s Get Caught by the Collar’. Yummyam Entertainment, which is in charge of producing the OST for KBS 2TV's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Let's Get Grabbed by the Collar' (directed by Lee Ho, Lee Hyun-kyung / Written by Bae Soo-young), said on the 16th, "The first OST 'Wound' of 'Let's Get Grabbed by the Collar' sung by HYNN is coming. “It will be released on the 18th,” he said. 'Let's Get Caught by the Collar' is a melodrama chase thriller in which a reporter who catches bad guys and a detective from the violent crime team who handcuffs bad guys fall into a huge whirlpool while tracking down a series of murder cases together. The first OST, 'Wound', is a song that hit producer Rocoberry participated in composing, and synergy was created by meeting HYNN, the owner of outstanding singing ability. While expectations are rising just because of their combination, the OST music video teaser video was released on the afternoon of the 15th through Yummy Entertainment's official YouTube channel, attracting attention. In the video, HYNN is passionately singing part of 'Scar' in a recording studio. It is impressive to see HYNN singing each and every line with sincerity in a delicate yet sorrowful voice. In particular, a scene from the drama featuring Kim Ha-neul and Yeon Woo-jin was inserted in the middle of the video, doubling the level of immersion. Meanwhile, HYNN's 'Let's Get Grabbed By the Collar' OST Part.1 'Wound' will be released on various online music sites at 6pm on the 18th. http://www.nbnnews.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=842665

3 Key Points To Keep An Eye On In 2nd Half Of “Wedding Impossible” Drama Preview Mar 17, 2024 by S. Nam tvN’s “Wedding Impossible” has already reached its halfway mark! “Wedding Impossible” is a romantic comedy starring Jeon Jong Seo as Na Ah Jung, an unknown actress who agrees to fake a marriage with her longtime friend Lee Do Han (Kim Do Wan). Moon Sang Min stars as Lee Do Han’s younger brother Lee Ji Han, who is desperately opposed to his brother’s marriage and tries to prevent it from happening at all costs. As “Wedding Impossible” kicks off its second half, the drama shared three interesting points to focus on. Spoilers Lee Ji Han surrendering to Na Ah Jung In order to take on a main role for the first time in her life, Na Ah Jung agreed to become Lee Do Han’s fake wife. With 2 billion won (approximately $1.5 million) on the line and no second chances permitted, Na Ah Jung immersed herself into this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Simultaneously, Lee Do Han’s brother Lee Ji Han is doing everything he can to stop the marriage. Despite Lee Ji Han’s plans to woo Na Ah Jung to prevent the wedding, Lee Ji Han ended up falling for Na Ah Jung and gave up on his plans to interfere with the marriage. Although Na Ah Jung also wanted the approval of her future brother-in-law, she can’t help but be caught off guard by his sudden change in attitude as she recalls the time she spent with him. Viewers are curious to find out the end result of Na Ah Jung’s and Lee Ji Han’s romantic missions. Lee Ji Han’s hidden trauma Furthermore, attention is brought to Lee Ji Han’s hidden past. Lee Ji Han lives with guilt, believing himself to be the reason for losing his mother Hyun Soo Hyun (Han Soo Yeon) to a traffic accident. This incident also caused his relationship with chairman Hyun Dae Ho (Kwon Hae Hyo) to go awry, hinting that there was more to the accident. Reporter Kang Ik Joon (Shin Moon Sung) also adds tension by lurking around LJ Group. Viewers are curious to find out more about Lee Ji Han’s past and what effect it will have on the fake marriage. Suspicious characters In the second half, attention will be brought to the mysterious people in the shadows who are putting the wedding at risk. Furthermore, Lee Ji Han and Lee Do Han’s half siblings are not only out to get the brothers but they are also plotting to target Na Ah Jung, who is intimately tied to the brothers. In addition to contacting a reporter who has bad blood with LJ Group to dig up information on the three, they also began to shake up Yoon Chae Won (Bae Yoon Kyung), who has feelings for Lee Ji Han. Not to mention, tensions rose with the appearance of Jung Dae Hyun (Shin Yong Bum) who knows of Lee Do Han’s secret. Jung Dae Hyun even warned Lee Do Han, saying, “I wanted to hurt you,” making viewers curious to find out if this crisis will also be resolved in the second half of the drama. In addition, the newly released stills raise questions about the second half of the drama. Although Lee Ji Han gave up on interfering with the wedding, he still looks affectionately at Na Ah Jung, raising questions about their relationship. Another still depicts Na Ah Jung in a wedding dress, making viewers wonder if the wedding will really take place. more https://www.soompi.com/article/1649198wpp/3-key-points-to-keep-an-eye-on-in-2nd-half-of-wedding-impossible

Oh.... It is hard to find a drama that suits all our taste but I wish we`ll find one. I miss the times when we could talk in a drama thread. These days only daily dramas have some discussions... sadly. 762

Premiere Watch: Nothing Uncovered by missvictrix Time slot: Monday-Tuesday Broadcaster: KBS Genre: Crime, thriller, mystery Episode count: 16 Global streamer: Kocowa Reasons to watch: Poor KBS doesn’t know quite how to market this drama, from their difficulty in settling on an adequate English translation for the title (which in the Korean reads “Let’s grab each other by the collar”), to their tonal shifts in promotional material (see: posters). However, don’t let this scare you. Sometimes, it’s the dramas that struggle during their promotion cycle that turn into the more interesting fare, so I’m still rooting for the drama to bring something worthwhile to my screen. With Kim Haneul playing a tenacious reporter who not only discovers her husband is having an affair (NOT AGAIN, DRAMA GODS!) to becoming a suspect in the mistress’s murder, the stage is set for a lot of conflict and intrigue. The wonderful Jang Seung-jo plays her cheating husband, while Yeon Woo-jin plays her ex-boyfriend and the cop who comes to her aid. And while the drama is clearly tagged as a crime-thriller, those bedroom posters suggest we’ll be leaning more into the relational side of this story, to which I say: yes, please. TL;DR: Kim Haneul is in quite the pickle when she’s caught between two men and has a murder suspicion hanging over her head https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/03/premiere-watch-nothing-uncovered/

5 Heartfelt Conclusions From Episodes 21-24 Of “Branding In Seongsu” Features Mar 17, 2024 by andyzar This is it! After 24 episodes, “Branding in Seongsu” has come to an end, and what a ride it has been. This is one of those dramas that always keeps you on your toes, giving multiple turns and twists, going back and forth with the plot, and multiple characters, making it easy to keep watching until the very end. Though it is difficult to pinpoint every single detail among the whirlwind of emotions, revelations, and surprises these last episodes have, here are the top five conclusions of this incredible drama. Warning: spoilers from episodes 21-24 below! 1. Kang Na Eon uncovering Director Han’s skims Last week, we found Kang Na Eon (Kim Ji Eun) didn’t want to actually help the small company that first developed the battery idea, making So Eun Ho (Lomon) believe that she was gonna help Director Han get away with the theft of intellectual property once again. However, just as everyone had hoped, she comes forward with the truth in front of the big corporation’s president, revealing the mismanagement within his company and in Segye Group. This gives So Eun Ho a small sliver of hope that she isn’t as bad as he originally thought, which at the same time makes it harder for him to perform his plans of revenge against her. As her last act of goodwill towards Eun Ho, Na Eon changes bodies with him and gives him the last piece of evidence which clarifies that she always intended to make a collaboration and not steal their candle idea, and that it was ultimately Segye Group’s decision to erase Bandi candle from the branding proposal five years ago. 2. So Eun Ho and Kang Na Eon letting go of the past If there was a character that could get anyone confused in this drama, it was Kang Na Eon. She is a cold, calculative, and professional sort of person, but deep down inside she had demons and insecurities that prevented her from really becoming closer to the people who cared for her. However, that icy shell finally starts to melt the moment she meets So Eun Ho, who is a character with a deeper, darker, and more emotional background than everyone thought in the beginning. more https://www.soompi.com/article/1649042wpp/5-heartfelt-conclusions-from-episodes-21-24-of-branding-in-seongsu

Cultivating Blood Free meat with Han Hyo-joo and Joo Ji-hoon by solstices Writer Lee Soo-yeon — who previously brought us the acclaimed Forest of Secrets and Grid — is finally back with the Disney+ original Blood Free, and from the looks of it, it’ll be just as thought-provoking as her usual fare. In the near future, rapid advancements in technology have allowed for a groundbreaking invention — the replacement of farmed animals with synthetic meat. As the researcher Yoon Ja-yoo who pioneered the foray into artificial meat, Han Hyo-joo (Moving) stands proud at the helm of the BF — or Blood Free — corporation. “In order to become perfect, the chains must be broken,” Ja-yoo declares, and her words are met with applause from her enraptured audience. “Humankind must liberate itself from the food chain.” A stoic salute introduces us to Joo Ji-hoon (Jirisan) as the ex-marine Woo Chae-woon, who currently serves as Ja-yoo’s personal bodyguard. “That was the beginning of BF,” Chae-woon narrates, and we witness the high-tech process of culturing meat in a laboratory. A new age of lab-grown meat has dawned, and Chae-woon proclaims that mankind has reached “the apex of the pyramid that will completely dominate the ecosystem.” For all its game-changing utility, Chae-woon seems to realize the implications of such an innovation, and the danger lurking behind it. “The best technology I’ve known has always taken the form of a weapon,” he observes, as Ja-yoo is accosted in her car by a crowd of anguished protesters. Does BF meat truly shatter the shackles of the food chain, or does it simply transpose it within the human race itself? A tempest of instability is brewing on the horizon, summed up in brief glimpses of gas masks, gun shootouts, and a body falling onto a car’s hood. A chyron elucidates the dilemma brought on by synthetic meat: is it a disaster, or a blessing? There are always two sides to a coin, but even with blood staining her face, Ja-yoo remains resolute in her vision. “Don’t you want to become a wholly dominant species?” Helmed by writer Lee Soo-yeon and PD Park Chul-hwan, who previously collaborated on Grid, the ten-part thriller Blood Free will be serving up its first slice on April 10. https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/03/cultivating-blood-free-meat-with-han-hyo-joo-and-joo-ji-hoon/

The Impossible Heir: Episodes 5-6 by missvictrix Life is getting complicated for our main trio. While their plans appear to be moving ahead — with the heir in place and a wedding on the horizon — that doesn’t stop the betrayals from appearing on the scene in what’s turning into a game of Whac-A-Mole. EPISODES 5-6 Thankfully, it’s a less of a boring week in The Impossible Heir in this set of episodes, but that doesn’t make what’s happening any more scrutable. The show turns up the ~drama~ this week, but for shame, none of it has much sticking power because we still don’t see inside our heroes enough for it to work the way it ought to. Instead, we have lots of dramatic things happen that we watch from outside. I haven’t felt this emotionally isolated from a K-drama in a long time. Picking up where we left off, In-ha is now in position as Official Kangoh Group Heir #3, and our team is about through their master plan, right? In-ha wanted to get into the family and he’s doing a bang-up job of knowing he only has to be his father’s dog (his words). Hye-won wanted to marry into the Kang family, and she and In-ha’s recent engagement has been accepted by the chairman. And as for Tae-oh, he’s still in the right-hand man power seat. What else is left? Is it game over? If it’s not, what’s their end game? (Asking for a friend.) In the meantime, the mess that Sung-joo caused last week was swiftly dealt with, and he’s been all but exiled (like his scheming mother who left for “the villa”) — and I don’t just mean from Chairman Kang’s good graces. I mean from the actual drama, too. Where Sung-joo’s arc seems to fizzle out, In-joo continues to be a PITA, and is involved in some big trouble, which we’ll get to later. But first, the bigger theme of what the drama is really trying to do: start pitting our two heroes against each other. Gone, gone forever is the brief glimpse of their early friendship dynamic. Now they just glare at each other over expensive alcohol and rehearse their next move. That being said, In-ha gets an official “test” from his father, which has to do with a high-profile business negotiation trying to sell one of the Kangoh companies. And this is one of the first times we see antagonism between In-ha and Tae-oh. In-ha seems to reach a tipping point where he can’t trust in Tae-oh’s long game. Instead, he uses a cheap trick to pull off the sale to his advantage. It works, and In-ha isn’t faulted for it much, but it’s the first time (ever?) that In-ha has blatantly gone around Tae-oh to get something done. And methinks that has set a precedent. (As a plot device it’s boring, but it works. And really, the fun here is seeing Tae-oh having to repress his inner fury.) Now that In-ha is having one-on-ones with his father (and getting schooled in business, wine, and proper chaebol conduct), he seems to be relying on Tae-oh less and less. But could the mounting tension also be over Hye-won? In-ha finally proposes to her and she accepts (it’s utterly emotionless, just like their entire romance has been). Nevertheless, In-ha texts Tae-oh excitedly with the news, but poor Tae-oh is out for a night run to some extremely moody music, brooding over losing his woman for good. This scene is the perfect example of a juxtaposition that would work beautifully, and rip your heart by the feels, if the drama was doing what it was supposed to and, you know, making us feel things. As it is, I feel nothing, and I’m shocked over the lack of romantic chemistry in this entire love triangle when both Lee Jae-wook and Lee Jun-young have been such chemistry magnets in the past. Indeed, the entire love triangle is ripe for a harvest of deep-seated competition between our leads, the question of who really started the “game” first, and if In-ha is really out-playing Tae-oh with the Hye-won card, but our drama is having trouble pulling this off effectively. Still, the seeds are there. If you squint, you can see them. The relationship between Tae-oh and Hye-won doesn’t seem to have changed at all over the past decade or so, which makes this week’s sudden fixation with the unresolved “tension” between them a little hard to buy. Apparently that oh-so-brief exchange when they were college students — the wrist grab and the decision to ignore their attraction — has been haunting both of them ever since. But this doesn’t come to the surface until Tae-oh’s life is in the balance. One night after meeting In-ha in a basketball court, In-ha leaves and Tae-oh sticks around on his own for a few minutes. Yes, watching him shoot hoops in a dress shirt was my favorite scene this week. Alas, it does not end well, and he’s ruthlessly bludgeoned and left to bleed out in the street. But not before failing to reach for his phone, which is calling Hye-won, and he passes out thinking about how much he misses her. (This, unfortunately, is another example of a scene that could have been so powerful, if only we had actual Plot Evidence of Tae-oh having something to miss). Tae-oh survives the attack — barely — and it jumpstarts a lot of plot points. First, it’s used as the way to break the resolve between Tae-oh and Hye-won. He touches her hand on two occasions (in the melty way that only Lee Jae-wook is capable of), and not only does Hee-joo know, but In-ha secretly sees as well (*Uh ohs*). Second, the assault is promptly covered up by In-ha and Chairman Kang for PR reasons, but we’re led to believe there’s some fishiness around. Third, it sparks Tae-oh’s own investigation of who the heck tried to kill him. Thanks to Tae-oh’s North Korean-Italian-basement-hacker pal, he learns that In-joo’s right-hand mand was behind the assault, and he confronts him on it while looking very good in a leather jacket. But is it a warning from In-joo, or is something else going on? There’s a rumor that it was In-ha’s doing, and we do see him visiting the crime scene later like a real creepo. Either way, both Tae-oh and Hye-won find themselves on the Rooftop of Consolation, and this is where their Deeply Repressed Feelings of Longing come out. And I have to give it to Lee Jae-wook — the script might not have sold this romance adequately, but his eyes certainly do. He asks Hye-won only for “this moment” and then kisses her passionately. Too bad the Rooftop of Consolation has long been spied on by In-joo’s henchman, and pictures of the incriminating kiss have been captured. With no time to linger, we jump into In-ha and Hye-won’s wedding, which everyone seems pretty okay with — well, except steely-eyed Tae-oh, and feisty sis Hee-joo. She’s previously warned her brother that, “[Hye-won] doesn’t love you, she only loves herself” and to that I say: well spotted! more https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/03/the-impossible-heir-episodes-5-6/

Will Lee Se Hee and Kim Sung Ryung star with Kim So Yeon in JTBC drama Quiet Sales? By Michelle TophamMarch 15, 2024 Earlier today, various South Korean news media reported actresses Kim Sung Ryung and Lee Se Hee were joining Kim So Yeon in the JTBC drama Quiet Sales (working title). Not long after Kim Sung Ryung’s agency, FN Entertainment, confirmed the actress is joining the cast of Quiet Sales, while Lee Se Hee’s agency J-Wide Company responded with the usual statement “She has received an offer to star in Quiet Sales, and is positively reviewing it”. In other words, if you are a fan of both Korean actresses, don’t get too excited just yet. While not much has yet been released about the new JTBC drama, we do know it is a period piece in that it takes place in the 1990s, and follows a group of women who work as door-to-door salespeople. Kim So Yeon, who has already accepted a starring role in the new K-drama, is playing Jung Sook, a saleswoman who sells adult products. Should Lee Se Hee accept the role, she will play a single mother who is also involved in the sales work. As fans of the now-57-year-old actress will already know, Kim Sung Ryung already has an extensive body of work behind her. tarting with a role in the film Who Saw the Dragon’s Claws? in 1991, she went on to star in a massive number of Korean dramas, including Youth Theater, Garden of Eve, Ms. Kim’s Million Dollar Quest, Queen of Ambition, Flower of the Queen, and Mrs. Cop 2. Her most recent dramas include The Beauty Inside, Political Fever and the hit Netflix series Love to Hate You. Kim Sung Ryung’s body of work also includes many films like The Room in the Forest, Believer, The Call, Keys to the Heart, with her most recent appearance as Loh Kiwan’s mother in the currently #1 on Netflix film My Name is Loh Kiwan. Quiet Sales, in which she will also play a door-to-door saleswoman, will be her first K-drama of 2024, but hopefully it won’t be the incredibly talented actress’ last. As far as Lee Se Hee goes, while not possessing as large a body of work as Kim Sung Ryung (yet), if she does accept the Quiet Sales role alongside Kim Sung Ryung, it will be her second upcoming drama, as she is already starring in the 8-episode Love in the Big City. The 32-year-old Lee has also starred in Fight Hard, Love Harder, Sandwich Theory, Young Lady and Gentleman, and her most recent drama Bad Prosecutor. Fingers crossed Lee Se Hee accepts the Quiet Sales role, as it would be cool to see her in two dramas this year. https://leosigh.com/will-lee-se-hee-and-kim-sung-ryung-star-with-kim-so-yeon-in-jtbc-drama-quiet-sales/
