No it’s definitely there.  You just need to look really hard. .  A good writer holds her cards very close to her chest whilst dropping bread crumbs.  You don’t reveal it from the start or people lose interest.  There’s a lot of mirroring happening between the pair.  Lots of details that you need to pick up that are deliberately put in there.  They are dancing a silent waltz around each other.  It will take a while but it’ll come.  There have been far too many coincidences written in the story line for it to be just pure conjecture.  We just need to be patient.   I am not sure they will definitely end up together but if I had to pick a pair in the end it would be them.

It’s just amazing how humble and simple the parents are! They’re all like chaebols and executives but they didn’t fit to the usual conglomerate type of parents and i love it. Just proves how unique and wonderful this drama is.

Exactly right....precisely why it should not be permitted in any Hospital setting.

 

The guy could have knocked over a pregnant mom, an elderly patient, a child, or other

odd people in those corridors. It had a potential of creating more harm and damage

to others than what the guy already did to his kids.

 

Also, putting up extra effort ...or simply working extra hard... but does not get the desired results... will only get her..."participation trophy points".  Making the "right course of action" at the right time does....which was what Dr Bae did.  Let Security people or the cops do the chasing  ....that's their job.

 

More so...in a past ep, Dr Jang started her day by nosing around, plotting and/or tracking Dr Choir Boy.  She seems more concerned about her romantic aspirations than her desire to help people in need of care. Surprise, surprise... she got a  reprimand for exercising poor judgement on a patient.

I’m fine if Song-hwa ends up with no one or if she ends up with someone. However, I just really want to know why she just had to describe Ik-jun as a “close/best friend”. And why Ik-jun called her an “anchor/pillar” when all the other guys called her “glutton” etc. 

 

It’s clear that they are also close, but I want to understand why they’d address each other like that. I’m assuming that when they shot the interview they’ve already filmed past episode 6, at the very least. That’s one of the things I am looking forward to.

He was concerned about her who is still wearing her old shoes, her small body that can easily be broken but she has to run around the hospital and Song Hwa who looks pretty when she smiles while looking at the flowers.
It's not like his heart can stop liking her when he was asked to. 
He can't go through with with or stop it.

Do Jae Hak (Male/Cardiothoracic Surgery Chief Resident/ 39 years old)

He is just one year younger from a professor (JWan), a very late bloomer resident.
Coming from a family with nothing special and born with a look that doesn't stand out among others, Jae Hak lives while thinking that 'a signboard' was the thing that could help him shine in this world.

He went to a law school to have a title with 'sa' words, that's why from the first year of college he has been hanging on the bar exam.
It's not until his sixth bar exam and got hit hard in the back of his head that make him finally realized. 
Instead of a lawyer (byeonho'sa') or a judge (pan'sa'), there is a doctor (eui'sa').
In the end, in the age when others are building up their career at work, he entered a medical graduate school!

When he puts on a white gown, he would think it will give him 'a name' that everyone looks up to.
Preparing for a surgery, taking care of the patient while also preparing for a specialist exam... 
Even if he has 10 bodies, it's not enough.
Nevertheless, when it's time to sleep he sleeps, when it's time to eat he eats and when he feels hungry, he will hide and eat. 
Because he is so devoted to his instincts and desires, he got a nickname 'instinct'.

Every time he makes a mistake, being hit by Joon Wan's murderous glaze is something that familiar to him now. 
If Jae Hak is another resident, maybe he would have already poured out a mouthful of swear words but maybe because he is his junior with only one year difference in age, Joon Wan forcibly swallows his anger and Jae Hak somehow feels glad to see that. 
While also feeling sorry and shame at the same time

 

Chu Min Ha (Female/Obstetrics and Gynecology 2nd Year Resident/ 34 years old)

An ambitious obstetrician and passionate lady.
There are many things she wants to study and many surgeries that she wants to try but she is always busy.
But she still thinks that the hospital is quite good.
Obstetrician are good with their works and she is quite good and trusted by the professors and nurses, but...
All she can do is study while her dating life is failing. Her fashion is too much and her make up is an error.

When she was young, her mother said this, "When you wears something similar with others, it's not a fashion!"
Following that teaching, her fashion is far from normal. Unprecedented colors and designs of clothes that cannot be called as fashion in this world.
And on a good day, she would wear darker green eye shadow makeup... 
Even when she is busy, she can't let go her 'edge'. Everyday it's going too far.

She doesn't know when it started. 
He is someone who can't answer her question properly, a frustrating person that hard to make an eye contact with. 
She thought that he is a nerd who looks at his phone and always giggling.
One day... 
She feels bad when she saw he eats alone and now she sits next to him and wants to have a friendly conversation.
And now, she wants to feel his consideration and warmth a little bit closer.

Quick summary of making scenes ep 5
- BBQ scenes. At the first part it was supposed to be SHwa solo shoot but SHyeong's hands got captured. Because he didn't hold anything in his hands they joked if they need to put a chopsticks while editing. During break time they had a blast grilling and eating the meat. Combination of pork belly strips and kimchi is the best. YYS doesn't forget to take care and shares with the staffs. The older members also joke and distrub YYS who is grilling meat. Ask him to flip the meat and kimchi again and again. There is part where SHwa asked for another portion of meat and the PD asked JMD to speak in Gyeongsang-do dialect. She is having a hard time and JKH gave an example. After that they start to joke and speak in various dialects.

- MiDo and Parasol band shooting scenes. Today's song is Crying Nut 'When The Night Got Deeper'. They are playing the song stable and the shooting is going smoothly. JJS as usual looks passionate while singing. And then they have an NG because of JKH. Why? Because he forgot to wear his glasses. He looks dumbfounded and wondering why he didn't wear it. During rehearsal he put off his glasses and forgot to put it back on when they shoot for real. JJS made fun of his blank expressions. They also separately recorded their voices. JJS as the main vocal for this song recorded his part first and followed by the rest of members as they sing the chorus. YYS, JKH and KDM as one team and JMD record by herself. There is part where JMD didn't suppose to sing but she sang. JJS who watching from the side points out the members gesture when they are singing. JMD fold her hands in front of her body, KDM acts as if he is a maestro, JKH fold his hands as if he is praying and YYS keep the beat with his hands as if he is playing drum.

- Shooting the child abuse case. Before shooting YYS keep interacting with the child actor and praise him that he acts well as if he is really hurting. He is playful and gentle towards the child actor. During his shoot with GW, he is cold but when they are on break they are quite friendly with each other. When the camera rolls, he immediately acts cold but when he heard the cut sound, he is all smiles. He also worried for the actress to be careful because she has to run barefooted. GW said she wore some patches to protect her bare feet.

- IJ visited SHwa before he left for the day. On the day of shooting, it was JJS's birthday (almost the end of December) and the staffs surprised him with birthday cake. He feels shy but thankful. He also jokes and congratulates himself while talking in front of the mirror

With the way Song hwa's arc is headed, I don't think she will end up with anyone. Atleast not in this season. And I'm okay with that. My girl needs no man. LOL. 

 

Dr. Jang gets more attention in this thread than others. The actress who is playing Dr. Jang hit a jackpot with this role. Hehe. I have not seen her in any dramas before. She is doing a great job here for her to garner this much discussion. Hahaha.

Even if the security guards or the cops are there on time, they would still have to chase him down anyways through the hospital instead of Dr. Jang doing it. So there IS still a chase down of that abusive father REGARDLESS of Dr. Jang doing so, hence the risk of him knocking down people in your argument is still THERE regardless of who chased him down.

And using the same logic, all these hospital staff that these two were running through, they could TOTALLY have stopped him to prevent those accidental knocking downs but NO... they just let him run past them where they clearly saw another hospital staff chasing after him... until Song Hwa knocked him down with the giant water bottle.

 

 

When you have a crush on someone, it's NATURAL to wanting to know more about that person anyways... How's that nosing around??? When did she even plot or track him??? Plus technically she didn't get reprimanded either... JungWon neither praised her OR reprimanded her.. so technically it was't that much of a poor judgement on her part, according to everyone else...

This is what I'm saying too. We have seen so many dramas with female leads doing batshit crazy stuff to get the attention of the male leads. Girl chasing the boy is one of the most famous tropes in kdramaland since the olden days. It's not like we are seeing this stuff for the first time. LOL. It is natural for a person in love to be curious about these kind of stuff. I don't see Dr. Jang having any malicious intentions. Her character is being put into so much scrutiny here, I think it's unfair. If it was Song hwa who did this, I don't think she will be hated this much. LOL. Song hwa even lied that she is good in singing to get into the band and be near Ik Jun. So if what Dr. Jang did is wrong then what song hwa did is outright crime. LOLOL.

He is looking breathtakingly handsome & cute there. you have no idea how much effort I put in gaining knowledge of posting GIFs just for this charmer JJS. And if u didn't watch JJS's Nokdu Flower then I would strongly recommend it . It is a masterpiece. A must watch if u are into history dramas. I am not into history drama but I LOVED it.

The only main characters without any update on description would be Songhwa and Jungwon. Probably because they haven’t had any catalyst in their arcs so far. Looking forward to that. Songhwa, especially, lived a quite perfectly normal life. Her passion is really medicine, she doesn’t see romance as a necessity, she’s admired by her colleagues, her family is there for her and she’s got the best of friends. She’s smart, driven, compassionate, independent and pretty to boot. Her upcoming conflict really could serve as her pivotal point. When you get sick, things shift. We will finally see Songhwa in an environment with a strong pull of self-conflict. Out of all the five, she does seems like the strongest, she doesn’t falter and she seems to keep the problems with herself (Jungwon had to squeeze out some answers from her in Ep 2 where she was stressed before she shared what’s bothering her and they gave their advise) With her personality, she could either live like she always did or instigate a strong change. After all, her dream is travelling around the country and go camping. At this point, romance could either be within or out of question for her. We will see how the people closest to her will react too. I hope they reveal more of her family. I’m curious if the dynamics between five friends will shift as well once they found out. However, Shin and Lee are not the type to put so much focus on illness. Sure, their characters get sick but they all get by. They focus on the process more. Regardless of her tests turning out positive or negative, the process of finding that out is a strong struggle itself. Really can’t wait for next week and see more of Songhwa. ㅠㅠㅠ 

 

For Korean viewers, the popularity of ships are as follows (based on my observation),

 

1. Iksun x Junwan

2. Jang x Jungwon

3. Songhwa x Captain Ahn

4. Songhwa x Junwan (Lol, no matter how many times they sink this, lots of folks persists to row) 

5. Ikjun x Songhwa

6. All else is equal

 

And korean viewers gave meaning for the flowers in Korean that Songhwa had on her desk (I don’t think the giver was revealed or am I wrong?), 
 

a. White Rose - 다시 만나고 싶다 - it means to start again with someone; Chastity, Respect and Charm

b. Autumn Rose - Shyness, Confession and First Love
 

The optics might either be a hint or confusion. After all, the Reply team are so specific about details. You’d never really know what’s under your nose. Jang and Jungwon’s are referred as Winter Garden since the meaning of 겨을 (Winter) and Jungwon (Garden). In this regard, 송화 or Songhwa means Flower. So, it could be Flower Garden too. Lol. There’s so many subtle details about Songhwa and Jungwon going around and yet their dialogue is empty which is interesting. Is it a build up for a reveal or details for some us who are nit-picky and easy to confuse?

 

And, I’ll really be damned with the colors. The optics have started to bother me (I rewatched last night), thanks to Korean viewers. I used to brush it off but it almost recurs everywhere. Once the series is over and all is connected, and the color association is indeed real, I’ll share all the scenes I found that had it. For now, I’ll put it on park as it could just be a point of detail to confuse everyone. 
 

It’s easy to sway viewers because they’ve got a stellar cast. On the first two weeks, everyone was hooked with Junwan x Songhwa (including me ㅠㅠㅠ) but look where we are now. ㅠㅠㅠ I’m neutral with all the pairing now that my ship has sank. ㅠㅠㅠ Really can’t wait how everything will fall into pieces eventually.

@loveiskim Jun wan and Songhwa as usual ate faster than the others as if they are at war. Hahaha. It was mentioned in the kalguksu scene 2nd ep. They usually eat faster without being considerate of others. Jeong won even whined that they both ate all the beef once and he was only left with tofu. Hahahaha. I'm a slow eater myself, so I wouldn't want to eat with these two either. Lol. 

 

The thing that I noticed about this scene' is how Jeong won kept putting the meat on Songhwa's side and Jun wan just stealing them quickly. LOL.
