I'm wondering why we don't get any sweet kiss scene after their passionate make out scene in episode 9 LOL 

I means, at least a sweet kiss scene in the bed scene after their daring make out scene but their bed scene only had almost kiss scene LOL

At first I thought that maybe they keep the "sober sweet kiss scene between royal couple after So Bong acknowledge her feeling" for the last episode. 

Then I remember that before Mr Queen airing, there was a time they had to halt filming due to an extra cast has tested positive for COVID-19.

So maybe, I say maybe, we have to prepare for no mutual romantic kiss scene until the end but uh, there will a hug based on the bts pic of they hugging huhu.

Unless, they already filming a romantic reunion kiss scene for episode 19/20 before an extra cast infected by Covid-19?

Or maybe they pitied the loyal viewers so they will compensate us with at least one kiss scene in the spin-off?

I'm sad if there will really no kiss scene after their reunion in episode 19/20, but I understand that Kim Jung Hyun and Shin Hye Sun health comes first.

Since their chemistry are really sizzling, I'm really hoping they will act together again in another drama that has a good script. Doesn't matter what genre the next drama will be, thriller/comedy/romance/melodrama, based on their performances on Mr Queen, they will definitely slay their next drama together if their will be a reunion!

@enzek I don’t think a lack of kiss is due to COVID situation. I mean they don’t wear face masks when they’re filming and they always touch each other and lean close to each other. They’re already breathing on each other’s face, so they might as well exchange salivas.

 Although I told myself to stop predicting the ending after watching episode 12, I just can't give up gathering evidence and watching prediction videos. Anyway, I have absolute confidence that the writer will surprise us one way or another.

Lol, I understand you totally.  But then if you look at the narrative it do not make sense having many kiss scenes. Our girl/boy is clearly very confused about her feelings and as wee see she have been trying to stay away from our king. Sure they have teased us in last episodes, but I do not think SB really got to figure out her own feelings even though she subconscious is drawn to him. I think now missing him and even determined looking for him gonna make her realize her own feelings. Beside there is also many other things going on, so they clearly occupied dealing with all this external conflicts.

But maybe we gonna get a reunion kiss if we lucky.

Sorry, want to share all in my heart, but warning that I will have many problem in grammar. English not my mother language, so I have many flaws in English....

 

Flashback to last December, I was so excited to welcoming this drama. December 12th 2020. During around that time, I was so stress with my deadline - completely overwhelmed till made me want to end my own life. But every time I felt down, I watched again GPG and read the novel or just to played all teaser.

Seriously I was so excited with this drama, specially because of SHS and KJH. {SHS's  Angel's Love Mission & KJH's Time still in my heart, I honestly said that I started to like them since that drama} With both of them acted in Mr Queen, their acting absolutely A grade. I was also curious about how SHS could acted as a Queen who has a playboy soul inside.

 

Since Desember till now, wow from December 12th and soon will be end in February 14th. I hope TvN will give us lovely Valentine's gift for us.

 

Current episode made me compared this one with the webdrama or the novel. I felt this current episode similiar GPG ep 30, the Empress came to seek Emperor because the Emperor almost die, and he wanted to meet Empress for the last time. Finally they meet again.

Then the Emperor wanted to go to war and left the Empress in safe place. But the Empress came to follow Emperor, she wanted they went to war together, but later to protect the Empress, the Emperor got hurt by arrow. Because of this, the Empress finally confessed her feeling that she loved the Emperor. Lucky, the Emperor's safe.

 

I spot difference between GPG and this drama, in GPG The Emperor who sent the concubine outside the palace meanwhile the concubine still believe that woman who the king loved was her, that's why she just went to enemy's tent and claimed as King's beloved woman.

But in this drama, the one who asked to out the palace was the concubine herself, and then in ep 18, the Queen was the one who called her to Palace and asked her to join hand. The Queen said that's only beginning, I believe the Queen just asked something to concubine to prepare the way for the King's comeback to palace.

 

Oh yah sometimes, current episode also remind me to episode 10 GPG. That time the Crown Princess was already pregnant, but she's still okay when she run from assassin, she's with the ninth prince. And also as I remember, after this running from assassin in forest, the Crown Prince finally succes became The Emperor.

 

About the ending, as I ever said, I did not like all ending version of webdrama. I love the ending of novel the most. But for Mr Queen, with all the real history I knew about the real CJ and the Queen also to Royal Baby, plus all Korean history after that, yah dunno, I got confused.

 

As I remember in GPG, the Emperor chose to fake his death because the Empress ever said that her dream was become Grand Empress, so that meant her son became the Emperor. That's why The Emperor wanted to fulfill The Empress' dream. Nah as I remember, SB never told about her dream about So Young's world right?

 

How the writer-nim and PD-nim end the whole story so we can accept the spin off? As I remember the spin off will have 6 episode, but they only be aired on 13 and 14th? So after ep 19, we will get 3 episodes spin off and then after ep 20, we will get the rest?

I have 6+ pages of posts to read to get caught up but I just finished watching ep 18 and wanted to share some thoughts then go back and read.

 

My takeaway was -  frustrating!

CJ and company weren't able to really capitalize on the gains they got after CJ revoked the regency. It lasted 5 mins and then their enemies regrouped fast and even got stronger bec the 2 rival clans teamed up against them.

Then the allies that he has aren't doing enough. Prince YP is  more concerned with perceived unfair treatment of HJ than his duties. He should have gone with CJ or at least followed in secret, or if he stayed, should've protected the queen instead of blaming her and threatening to kill h er...Granted him going there informed the queen that things are not what they seem, he could have been smart about it!  Not stormed in alone , brandishing his sword. Should have gone in secret and told her what's going on.

So then he gets thrown in jail and slated for execution.  How is he supposed to help CJ now?!!

No wonder CJ left them.

And Director Hong (?) who is usually up to date with the dangers and smarter than the others was caught flatfooted.  Why? and how? they should have been more alert and cautious since they knew CJ was headed straight into a trap...Wasn't he missing and declared dead by then? they should have already gone out looking for him!!!!!

 

Why is it the pregnant in the first trimester queen who has to literally go walking out into the countryside in the dead of winter to look for the queen along with 2 court ladies??!!! armed with only a bow and arrow he barely knows how to use!!!

 

Why didn't they use their resources? HJ was able to talk with the queen, why didn't they meet outside? get some horses and some escorts?? what abt the queen's dad? they could have used him somehow...

 

BH was going out alone!! he didn't even know where that cliff was!! Seriously?!!!

He didn't even bring a knife?!!! WHY?!!   that's what he's expert in! He could have stabbed BI with a handy chef's knife and filet that son of a !@#$#$!!

 

You can tell how truly frustrated I was from all the exclamation points I've used LOL!!

Let's see, our queen in her first trimester has:

1. Jumped down from a high wall. You know, the scene when they sneaked back into the palace after their secret night out to discuss military strategy and the whole jungchul jealous of kimhwan hijinks

2. Gone on a horseback ride for presumably quite a distance to get to the royal summer house or something

3. Jumped down from a high wall again before bumping into applauding HY and CL Choi and has plans to jump from an even higher Hanyang wall

 

Ok I get that sobong is clueless about pregnancy but this must be like a super fetus or something! I mean, for them to have time her fertility cycle correctly or when her pregnant symptom should start to show up, did they get another writer to write the first trimester timeline? Sorry this is the ahjumma in me speaking.

 

Anyway, I get that this is creative freedom, so I'm just going to ignore it and cross my fingers for more rom com or heart fluttering moment between the king and the queen and we will see the safe arrival of the baby PLEASE.

Good point about this being a Valentine's gift and didn't they say the drama's supposed to comfort us in this pandemic? So I'm almost sure it is going to be a happy ending in the sense the king, queen survives and continue to be king and queen (symbolic or not) and in love, not confused about their feelings and bonus, we see them with their baby and super bonus, we see a real kiss, doesn't matter if fully clothed (not the change scene or fade out when their lips are 1" apart kind). But how they make the story make sense is another story.

 

I'm also still holding out for BI being the good guy in the end to help king in his agenda in some way but why do I feel he might also get killed off in the end..

I feel the same chingu! I wanted to see if he had that ease only with SHS  anyways Seo Ye Ji is a pretty good kisser too although I do feel weird about watching it  currently KJH looks like only CJ for me

He promised Sunwon that he will ensure she doesn't have to fight for her power again. That promise is open to several interpretations, but all she can see is the throne and its power dangled before her.

oh definitely - I sort of gave up that she'd take precautions for the baby - on the other hand - CJ is that much more important to her that she's willingly to risk her So Yong's world - now that's a deep deep love, isn't it? 

About KJH-SYJ's make-out session: for me, I need to be connected to the story to be invested in a kiss scene, the build-up and tension is an important parameter, since it's not there here, I would have to give it a 5/10 (being unbiased, and for making me realise that KJH is indeed a good kisser paired with a good actress and script)

I get you! You know how horrified CL Choi was when the Queen went horse riding and now she is giving her a standing ovation for jumping from the wall???? Ok, the two parts were obviously written by two different script writers.

I don't doubt SYJ's kissing skills on screen though, she is one of the best in the industry. I am sure KJH is a good kisser too, he is a 30 yo grown adult man who I am sure got a collection of exes whom not only got stared at from 2 meters away BUT I do doubt his ability to performs it on screen though..... That guy is too shy. In Mr Queen BTS of making out scenes, he put on an expressionless faces all the time.....
