My thought exactly.  I too noticed Leo in this episode.  Not just the character, but the actor too.  Something less mentioned is that the actor is pretty damn good.  We occasionally see some foreigners in Kdramas.  Most of the time they pick somebody just for being able to speak Korean well, but often their acting is pretty bad.  This actor is different.  He is quite good.  Just check how he gets HanNa to sit down with a mild "anja" at the restaurant table.  Also how he explains to HanNa in the bed room that being a CEO isn't easy.  Such a nice character and actor.

Yes, I am a guy...  With a background that you wouldn't normally expect.  A university faculty in Engineering for more than a couple of decades in the US, who is from India.  I got into Korean dramas for a hobby and to learn Korean, after a 3-month sabbatical in Korea in 2006.  Now I come here mostly for a break from work every day, so I disappear some days depending on work too...  Glad to offer a male perspective on things.  Not much different than what most of you have.  I just happen to like HN with her hair in a pony tail (unlike many here who want her not to tie it), and I do not find my heartbeat going up when HG comes on screen like many here do - that's about it.

HN is truly a very remarkable girl indeed! The writer is great in creating JE to be a complete opposite of her! 

And HG knows how lucky he is to have her LOVE. He'll TREASURE her forever and wont ever let his horrible mum seperate them!

Everybody is suspecting something and feeling something except the birth mother. They have been shifting the big reveal and making this girl suffer from episode to episode. And want us to believe that saints don't snap. The beginning to the middle of the drama was so good but I don't feel these final parts at all. Pray I get my mojo back.

Ok I like who she was the one cheering him up after what his  mother did lol HN is much stronger then I though.

Things are about to get crazy though all the dads are going to defend HN mom they know what they of person she is .

The way I see it the writer is letting HG's mother did a huge hole for herself. Its a good lesson in how not to judge a book by its cover and also you never know who someone is or what their past is. The woman is totally rude, and disrespectful. There is no reason to be that way to HN just because she is not the daughter in law she currently does not want due to her background. When the truth comes out all of the ugly behavior and harassment this woman gave to HN she will be on her knees and trying to smile away her nasty behavior to JH and HN.

 

The one thing I want the most is for JH to get a load of this woman acting out to HN. That way when the truth does come out this woman trying to explain her behavior will not be bought by JH. It should not matter where HN came for as long as she is sincere and a nice person so mistreating someones child is wrong and that woman knows that she would never want her daughter to have been treated that way. They are not all that and trying to climb up using a girl from a rich family will not get her what she wants which is "status" in the long run. Her behavior would make any rich in laws want to not deal with them for long. 

 

SH is going to get hers as well her two faced and ugly and jealous personality will not allow her to keep up the pretense that she really likes her sister. In her mind JH has kept her down and everything JH has is due to SH's hard work which I doubt is true. Once the truth comes out and its going to be realized that SH knew as well who her missing niece was now. I would like to see JH slap the taste out of SH's mouth a few times. This woman smiled in JH's face but worked to keep her daughter from coming back. The woman took that property when she nor her daughter deserved it. Given how nutty SH is becoming I can see her not showing an ounce of regret and lashing out at JH because she was the favorite which is suppose to justify the horrible thing she kept covered up. 

 

Even if JE truly loves DG I can bet she moved into that house to be able to control how much JH and HN are together and the information JH and HN may get to expose the truth. What JE can't seem to get is fate and karma are going against her. No matter how much she tries to block the truth from coming out it will still get out to JH and HN. Mother and daughter are going to be reunited. IT will also expose she knew all along who HN really was and hid it not wanting HN to come back. Which begs the question of why?

 

There should be more instances of JE being caught being nasty and dirty to HN and her mother by her father in law, her husband and her mother in law/aunt.

 

Given how much HN loves her adopted mom I can't see her walking away from this woman. I can say that it will be a case of HN having two moms. Her adopted mom will be sad and hurt to loose HN but she will try to send her back to her bio mom but HN will not want to stop the mother daughter relationship with her and JH would never stop it either. JH knows the heartbreak of loosing a child and learning that the real HN died and that they tried to find her parents she will allow HN to continue to call her adopted mom  MOM as well.. Its not a big jump anyway JH lives below them so she still gets to have her child close until she ends up marrying HG. If nothing else the two mom's will share a great daughter and be good friends. 

 

Now I have to wonder will HN get her memory back first before JH realizes that HN is her daughter? Tell me did HN's DNA register at the police station or did JH not provide a sample for her missing daughter?

I'm not too worried about HG's mother right now. HG still has that ace up his sleeve of what his mother did the day of his accident that nobody knows he knows. They said he became stiff and cold because his injury prevented him from baseball but when he drops the news it was actually his mother's lack of sympathy for his injury and only caring about her lost status that jaded him she is going to collapse.

I cannot help but have to agree with what K-netz discuss about this drama. Below are some points they discuss about :

1) This drama is drag too long for the revelation of HN real identity. Like what I said in previous post, we have not gotten the big clue on how will the truth revealed.

2) The story pattern for DGxJE. Sudden marriage? WOW! It may be a good because we may see some bumps in their marriage life. But, still........

3) Who are actually the main leads here? (Because DGxJE have too many screen time compared to HN♥HG).

4) HN♥HG's date pattern - Not so much romantic compared to other dramas (having lunch date at a park and sitting on a bench, too lack of their romantic moments). As for me, as long as writer-nim does not make them break up although at first I want to see this to happen, I am okay with it. I believe in both actors' professionalism in acting and their electrifying chemistry could make every their scenes turned out very well.

RECAP, EPISODE 98

 

Is this episode 120, in which the Park-Hwang clans enjoy a pleasant family dinner after Park and Hwang have married in episode 119?  No, this is episode 98, so someone must be dreaming.

 

The writer seems to be boggling with my mind.  In this scene, Kang and her Mother are preparing to leave for a dinner with Kang’s “in-laws,” the Lees.  Actually the in law reference turns out to be prospective.

 

The boggling continues.  In the third scene, Hwang informs her Mother that she and Park have already registered their marriage and her Mother isn’t pitching a motherdog.  Well wait, she is concerned that the Park house is too small.  Looks like this isn’t anyone’s dream – the writer has actually fast forwarded through Park’s marriage to Hwang.  I thought this would be worth at least five episodes of Sturm Und Drang.

 

Yoon sits down for a private talk with Hwang’s Mother, who is sniffling about her Daughter’s marriage but not breathing fire.  Yoon talks about buying a house for Hwang and Park.

 

Halmoni really needs to go but the one bathroom in the Park house is occupied.  She races upstairs to use the loo in Kang’s apartment.

 

As Halmoni barges into her apartment and makes a run for her bathroom, Kang is looking at pictures of herself as a young girl.

 

Dawg, who is already drunk, continues to drink soju with Park Sr..

 

When Hwang’s Mother asks where Halmoni is, she learns that Halmoni is upstairs.  Hwang’s Mother begins to lose her contents.

 

Hwang’s Mother barges into Kangs apartment.  Will she be able to hustle Halmoni back downstairs before she gets a gander at Kang’s photos?

 

Yes.  But it was a close call.

 

Halmoni tells Hwang’s Mother that the more se sees Kang, the more she likes her.  Hwang’s Mother suddenly suffers a stomach cramp.

 

Lee’s Sister talks with Leo about opening their own fashion house.

 

Park and Hwang are dressed in pajamas, like Ronald and Nancy Reagan in “Bedtime for Bonzo.”

 

Morning.

 

Lee’s Father asks his Wife if she remembers what day this is.  Actually, it’s her birthday and she thinks he will give her a gift.  Actually, this is the day she’s supposed to give him his household allowance.

 

When Lee and Kang join Leo and Lee’s Sister for lunch, Lee’s Sister is peeved.   Leo tells her that if she wants to CEO her own business, she has to start doing things she doesn’t like to do, like talking with Kang since Kang has experience in starting her own business.

 

Lee’s Sister starts to storm out.  Leo tells her to cool her jets.

 

During the luncheon, everyone takes a turn buttering up Lee’s Sister.

 

Lee pressures his Sister into joining their conspiracy:  A birthday dinner for their Mother cooked by Kang.

 

Kang has prepared a whole ness of food.

 

Lee’s Mother arrives home and smells the aromas of dinner.

 

Lee’s Mother walks into the kitchen and sees all of the food.  Then she sees her Son and Kang.

 

We have a scene in which an angel is whispering into Lee’s Mother’s right ear, a devil into her left.

 

Lee’s Mother pulls out her wallet and waves money in Kang’s face, like she’s a delivery girl or something.  Then she adds a tip.

 

Lee’s Father walks in on this happy scene.

 

Kang starts to leave on her own power but Lee grabs her hand and leads her out, Korean Cave Man style.

 

Lee’s Father is like, Is this a special day?  Lee’s Mother begins to cry.

 

Lee takes Kang home and tells her he’ll sleep in a sauna tonight.  She tells him to go home since it’s his Mother’s birthday.

 

On her way to her apartment, Kang encounters Hwang.  Kang tells Hwang that she has recovered some childhood memories, like playing with marbles.  Hwang is like, Is that so?

 

When Hwang reenters chez Park, Yoon wonders why she is acting weird.

 

While at the office, Lee receives a call from his Mother.

 

Lee meets his Mother in a café.  She introduces him to another Blind Date.

 

Lee apologizes to the Blind Date.   His Mother is like, That’s my son – always the kidder . . .

 

Lee’s Mother follows him out to the sidewalk, where they bicker.  She’s like, Go ahead – break your Mother’s heart . . .

 

Lee’s Mother decides to go to Kang’s house to give Kang’s Mother a piece of her mind.

 

As Lee’s Mother enters Kang’s courtyard, Kang’s Mother returns home.  As the two women square off, Lee’s Mother she’s not there to fight with her, she’s actually there to fight with Kang’s Mother.

 

The two women become more fully acquainted.

Why are u guys surprised at HG mum's behaviour?

I prepared myself for her craziness towards HN months ago so I can withstand the shock

At least she hasn't killed her yet so there is still hope.

Writer pls, take us to the big reveal. It does not have to come at the end of the drama. Let viewers see this girl get justice and surrounded by love as other plot holes are closed up  not at episode 110 we will start rushing everything.

 

The only time viewers were super happy for HN were when she started her biz and found love. Though we are super happy about her adopted home too. The rest has been suffering. 

 

I think the writer is trying to establish a theory with the case of HG mum to many mothers.

 

It's drama all right but mothers are very fond of judging their sons babes through the financial prism.

The funniest part of this is that it's housewives or those mothers who can't boast of robust bank account that does this. The real deal should be this, are they afraid of their shadows?

Isn't that insecurity showing it's face or, do they simply want to show off? 

Why do parents especially mother's do this?

 

It sucks to come from poor background honestly. U will be humiliated and trampled upon by every living thing.

See how HN status will automatically change if her identity is revealed.

I want HG mum to like her for who she is, not because she is her boss daughter and from a rich background otherwise that storyline will lose its meaning.

Looks like the lead lady in the following drama is a fashion designer too.  Jeez, why do they always have so many women characters as fashion designers?  Stereotyping, really.  The next time I want to see a woman character who is a sports team manager, software engineer, molecular physicist, political historian, flight school pilot, casino statistician, or something different....   

 

But the next drama sounds interesting.  The male character is from a fishing village, and the lead lady is a rich fashion designer with New York fame!

I would love it if JH walks up on HG's mother harassing EA. The woman needs to feel a taste of the humiliation she's been dishing out. She needs to be put in her place and reminded of the position she holds which doesn't measure up to EA nor HN. Both of them own their own businesses which are doing well.  EA can hold her own but HG's mother needs to get her slap down directly from HN's bio mother.The woman needs to be taught a lesson about her judging people based on what she was told and not actual facts.  Not once has she stopped to listen to her son nor has she noticed he's changed. 

 

JE sent her happiness and marriage down the river the minute she tried to sick HG's mother on  HA. She's going to wish she had left well enough alone. By causing this trouble for HN and family the truth is going to find it's way to the surface quicker.  The hole JE and SH keeps digging is getting deeper and deeper.  Fate is now going to make sure the hole is so deep they won't be able to climb out.

Except one small lie from him that HN went to HanGuk university (where he studied too).  That she didn't miss listening to.  That, coupled with her assumption that HN was some big company CEO, was enough for her to judge and have HN in her to-suck-up-to list initially.  Even the truth HN said, that she was brought up by a single mother after her dad died, was no problem, because that woman assumed whatever she wanted to assume.  Now she assumes just the reverse of everything, and again not "based on actual facts", as you say.  The woman needs a serious dose of some medicine from somebody, soon.

No!!! We only have few episodes left. The only JE scene I want to see is for her to ger punished. DG's character is very useless for me. He has never done any help with HN but the writer built the character to be a good friend.

Like you, I'm hoping for JH to appear in front of EA & Drama Queen to defend both mum and daughter. Hopefully JG will appear too. JG will give a peace of his mind to Drama Queen like what he did when he blasted SH for looking down at DS's job as a security guard.

 

JE could have told Drama Queen the truth about HN not beung a thief. Instead she added oil to fire by telling her HN & family live in their house as tenants. A LEOPARD NEVER CHANGES ITS SPOTS indeed!

 

However, I'm super happy that JE will be ultra stressed now that HN told her she's slowly regaining her memory! 

 

Probably she'll have nightmares which inevitably cause DG to become suspicious of her!

It is very sad but this is the fact. For writer-nim JE and SH need to have a lot of scenes for the plot story to move forward. Urghhhhh  DG is the most useless character until now.

JE is really a product of the evil witch SH. She even started her evil deed at 6 on HN and became bolder as she became older. 

I fully agree with the poster who wrote in another site that SH agreed to let JE & DG live with JH so that they can SABOTAGE HN's & JH's reunion again and again. Not that SH really agree to it from the way she cadjole JE for living in a shabby place! 

 

As there are 20 more episodes more ti go, I'm sure there'll be a few more conspiracies by this notorious mum & daughter act.

 

BUT I'm DYING to see their conspiracies being EXPOSED and their reactions!
