Yes~ Applause to all involved in TLE! Despite its flaws (which are abundant), i did enjoy watching it. 

 

I wonder if SSR will attend. He is filming Vagabond concurrently with TLE. In which I also wonder how he juggles his time between the two . And Vagabond's wrap up is expected to be some time in March.

2. He is shock because Sunny kicked him when they had date, is the drone also planned? why Lee Hyuk save Sunny? (Ep 4)

3. Sunny refuse to meet him again when he invite her in a dinner, he don't think if Sunny is difficult. (Ep 5)

4. He is smile when he hear Sunny sing a song. (Ep 9) 

5. He is shock when Sunny anger toward him when she coppied SH. (Ep 11) 

6. He looks a bit afraid and uncomfortable when Sunny anger to the food when have lunch with Yu Ra. (Ep 13)

Suddenly very scared of the ending of this drama. Lee Hyuk is always changing. If a good Wednesday , then Thursday becomes evil, if we see Lee Hyuk's preview look good, what does it mean that he will return to evil in the last episode on Thursday. Hope he's decide how he'll became to be.

I think Sunny's poisoned kimbap is now invalid all thanks to Granny who killed herself and left a suicide note. 

 

Was the kimbap actually poisoned? Maybe even not. They just want to blame someone. It was easier to blame Sunny and her bentobox. 

 

I find it unbelievable that they did not detect Granny drinking poison as one of the possible cause of death. There should be marks in her mouth. Look at what the poison did to Evil Mum's arm. Imagine what it can do to all the soft tissues in the mouth. But logic is not applicable to TLE. I need to shutdown my mind while watching this for full enjoyment. Hahaha

 

About Hyuk flipflopping between evil and good. I dunno. He is constantly flipflopping and unpredictable. It makes me wonder...is writernim having fun writing her villains? She makes her villains do and say over the top stuff a lot .

In that clip, it looks like Hyuk is injured, probably from shielding Sunny. That's why she's shaking him, and holding him. Story is so wacky that this could be the moment that she realizes that she loves him. Or maybe she'll yell, "Don't you die on me, not before I get to kill you first!" Hyuk seems to be Dorky Hyuk tomorrow and gets to kiss Sunny again for the fourth time. My head is reeling from the Good Hyuk Bad Hyuk lightning switches.

Just caught up with preview and also the updates on this forum. I am convinced that the writer has nothing else to write in the last 4 episodes and centers it on Hyuk and Sunny (am hoping that it is not Lovey Dovey scenes). Till now it seems like the good guys are always a step behind the evil. No fresh ides anymore and I cannot imagine why they still have to show another kiss (whether it was intentional, accidental or forced) between HYuk and Sunny.

 

it makes me wonder why she even wrote WS’s character if she does not even focus on the development of his story and perhaps may just write him off easily.. sigh.. she must really hate him LOL. 

 

TLE had a promising start but it lost its direction in the 2nd half of the show and now heading for self destruction. It could have been wrapped up nicely and tight in 20 hourly episodes max but they added in too many unnecessary fillers. 

 

I am already disappointed that the production team and writer treated WS character so insignificantly but I will be utterly mad with them if they turned the strong minded Sunny whose Character is one of the most well developed and consistent throughout this show to change her mind easily and end up with LH. 

 

The inconsistency of the story line has left many viewers angry and have ridiculous “shipping war” in Twitter-land and other forums. People have missed the essence of TLE. Not the fault of any of the casts but the writer herself. The the extension and the mess up of CJH’s appearance in the drama has turned away many viewers (both fans and non fans)

@katakwasabi, I read that after the first lead left the drama her character took a turn in the wrong direction..Is it true? Asking you because you've recently completed Return.

I never watched Return but read thing in news as it created lot of controversy that time. I only knew that they had a disagreement because lead character is not going as it was supposed to go and villains were too crazy and getting more screen time. Just knew it during Drama Awards that TLE PD and Return PD are same.

I've seen her acting in Miss Hammurabi and TLE.. I think she's pretty good at acting.. she is such a cute bubbly girl off screen though.. Good Luck to Lee Elijah. Hope she'll get more better projects ahead.

I also always take the original synopsis with a grain of salt since it’s only supposed to be a generalization of the plot to get people watching

Huh?A plot synopsis gives general overview of what to expect ,which in may case has been 100% right  this one is a straight up lie  for some reason.

 

Maybe Lie is a strong word it was just plain wrong.

From the one on drama list, the only thing “wrong” is Sunny falling in love with NWS, which is not even certain rn since there are still some episodes yet.

About Return..

In essence TLE and Return is kinda similar. It is about revenge. It is about choice. The choice to be good or bad, the choice to amend the bad you did or continue covering it up. Other thoughts in tab below:

Note: these are all personal opinions. I do note that there are comments that said Return went south after the actress switch (in which, i don't necessarily agree, I felt it was ok, might also be because I didnt watch it live).

 

In Return, there was no denying that the 4 friends were the true/main villains, and the revenge plot was fledged out from beginning to end and it involves a lot of people both good and bad.  However, in TLE one of the main villain is made to be ambiguous, at times coloured in such a light that he seems reformed. Mama and Nanny are consistent though. The revenge plot in TLE kinda went lackluster after a while. Which is a pity. I read the genre for TLE is thriller. It does not really feels like a thriller throughout. But i still enjoy TLE despite it all. Edit to add: i don't complain much about deviations in genre(if any) that might have happen in TLE, because I like funny-Hyuk as much as I despise his evil cray side #sorrynotsorry hehe

 

With regards to the actress switch in Return, I did not delve into the fiasco all that much. I did read about it but I don't know what to conclude from what I read. Thus, i am not sure why the actress decided to leave mid drama. And I'm also not sure if the writing was the cause or was it changed because of the switch. To me the actress transition was ok-ish. She cut her hair and voila she became another person, but I think her core characteristics remain somewhat similar to before.

 

I find the villains and good guys in Return were balanced. They are on level playing ground, and it did not feel like the villains were always on top. Usually the good guys have the upper hand. The good guys were going around creating havoc in the 4 villains lives. It also needs to be noted that the good guys are not actually all that good, they ended up being 'villains' despite themselves.

Exp1: good guys messing with bad guys

 

About air time..i feel that the airtime is equal or balanced too. Return had a lot of characters. And it had 4 engaging main villains, and each of them have their own distinct characteristics, it might be inevitable that the villains stole the limelight eventhough the airtime of each character maybe similar. From YT clips alone, Hakbum (Bong Tae Gyu) was the one that caught my initial intention.

Exp2: he keys a car, because he can

 

But after watching the whole drama, i find all the villains are well written. And I had no problem identifying their evilness or even a bit of regret in some of them.

Exp3: evil friends flock together

 

On the other hand, I think the female lead is well written too. Imo, her arc started later as the story unfurls. And I found her arc suprising in a good way. I appreciate the villains in Return. But without the female lead character, it would not be the same. She and her small team was the backbone of everything that happened in Return.  

Exp4: the main protagonist

 

All in all I find Return a good thriller. SSR's character is akin to cray2 Hyuk at times esp in the earlier eps of TLE. But Oh Tae Suk is way smarter. He uses his brain and thinks fast on his feet. OTS is way scarier than Hyuk.

Exp5: 2 psycho friends

SSR or his manager needs to share time management tips and how to multitask . According to the description he is not a villain. But we never know. Its fully preproduced though, so the story can be considered cast in stone for now. Hohohoho

Someone in DC counted (and made gifs) of the kiss scenes between LH & SN. To think they got a total of 5 kisses (preview included) and Bin got none made me sad.
