As to the whether CS is CM reincarnation or not I guess we already have enough hints to make us pretty sure that the soul that reincarnates has the same face in each next life (we have Mira for example). If ofc it reincarnates as a human and not a pig)

Did everyone here remember episode 1 opening, MW drinking with MG after harsh cynical arguments,  Mw took a bottle of drink pouring  in top of coffins(the one who's always drinking with her is CM) And then MW stood in nowhere catching by the shadows  comes out as tree swallowed her Swords with her name engraving on it, after that's  the In build up magically 

Latter we see MG take care the coffin and there firefly comes surrounding.

IMO, the firefly just appears when involved The Captain scene.

About YW dunno i just see him on Sanchez, shorts period he comes so friendly with MW, even his way to call MW is same with YW..Man Wolaaa.

Of course when reincarnation it's mean must duplication we couldn't count these.

Maybe what i write unpopular but when the twists of the story just like episode 8 it'll becomes  lousy and predictable twists thou.

we are like 8 eps away from the finale.. what we are short of, is how she managed to leave after having slain the princess and CM (did he really die? or she only injured him gravely??)..

with her troop of bandits all killed and hanged she couldn’t have wipeout the princess palace on her own..

the loots in the coffin could have been the goblets and jewelries from the princess wedding?

the rebel came at the right time and MW got saved but she turned her back and let the injured CM faced the fight against the rebel?

hahahaha i’m still guessing and guessing.. and of cos, i believe CM love for MW is true.. at the lake, he was hoping that MW would ask him to risk everything he has and follow her but she din.

he din look happy at the wedding.. he sounded lifeless when he told MW that thanks to her he managed to gain a big credit at the prison.. (haha  a guy being forced marriage by a tyrant..)

anyone has the translated version of the preview to tomorrow’s episode? i’m wondering what’s the conversation CS with MW before he returned the HDL badge to her.. did he insist to stay on, like self check in to room 404?

Actually maybe she could... that’s why they needed to lure her far away from her troop, get her alone, and only then the palace guards can subdue and capture her troop.

i meant, for MW to kill the princess and injure (kill) CM and still managed to escape the palace.. how did she escape? held CM as hostage since he is the general?

she was supposed to go join the rebel troop with her bandits gang.. but her gang was being rounded up, some got killed, some got captured and hanged in the palace execution area.. so unless the rebel troop came to attack the palace coincidentally else i can’t think how she can just escape..

Have you forgotten where the firefly captain confiscate MW drink took place? MW have always able enter and leave the palace unnotice without any help. She is very fimilar with the palace ground to even know where the princess room is. It is not very hard for her leave as she have alway done so before.

Hey everyone. Yey it's Friday and I can't wait to watch this week's episodes. It was a crazy week and I enjoyed the last two episodes. I may watch it again tonight just to make sure I didn't miss anything since I was so tired. I do hope that the story shifts more to the present now that the past has been clarified.

Na..joshep...maybe MW can easily went in and slaughtered all the guards after the killing field is not easy for her just flew freely , did you think she can teleport like the oldie Goldie JMW?

I think tomorrow episode we would see actually CM helping her again to escape. But who knew these all just theory

Well since we're waiting, I thought I'd give another additional myth spin - this time to Yeon Woo as Apollo - because the Hong Sisters have been unmistakably using the Diana myth and golden bough ritual for inspiration for character, attributes and events. I did a post on that part earlier.  But even though I knew they were using Diana as a pattern of inspiration for Man Wol, I didn't catch on to Apollo as Yeon Woo until I saw him playing that instrument. And if you follow this line of inquiry, Yeon Woo's role seems more concrete.

 

Apollo is Diana, the moon goddess's, twin brother.  He's the sun god.  I've mentioned before that Yeon Woo is symbolically also the tree (both Diana and Apollo are the laurel tree), and the house he promised to build for her.  If it had been named after him, it would be Hotel del Sol.  It still retains a remnant of him in the name by retaining the masculine article 'del' but attaching the feminine 'luna'.  I'm becoming more convinced this is the reason for the grammatical 'error'!

 

What else is Apollo the god of that resonates with Yeon Woo?  The Hong Sisters don't spend nearly as much time with him as they do with the Man Wol/Diana comparisons but they give a nod more than once.

 

Man Wol and Yeon Woo seem like brother and sister, both of them seemingly are rural, of the wild, protectors of the dispossessed.  We see them both with bow and arrow.  This is the original incarnation of Diana/Artemis and Apollo.  Check.

 

Yeon Woo pointedly went to a fortune teller.  Apollo is the god of seers and prophecy. Check.

 

Yeon Woo pointedly plays a stringed instrument.  Apollo is the god of stringed instruments. Check.

 

We've seen very little of Yeon Woo so I don't think it's a coincidence particularly when juxtaposed with all the strong Diana symbolism for Man Wol, and the Diana/Golden Bough ritual that Chang Sun went through to become the manager.

 

So what does this mean for the future of the story?  I think Yeon Woo loved Man Wol but he was never her lover and would therefore not be reincarnated as such in CS.  He's a brother figure, unable to move on because he is waiting for his sister (ring any bells, with our bellhop for instance?), embodied as twin spirit to Man Wol in the tree and hotel.

 

I think too we can look to Diana myths for insight into the male roles in the story.  There are four significant males in Diana's life. 

 

Apollo, her twin brother, primarily God of sun, prophecy, music, healing- Yeon Woo

Hippolytus, her companion and warrior-priest, known for his ethics and resistance to temptation-- Chang Sun (think what he says about opening that porn video)

Actaeon, the voyeur who peeked at her naked - we got this story as reflected in the side story of Ghost 13

Orion, another handsome companion predating Hippolytus, who Apollo gets jealous of and causes Diana to kill him with a trick - Captain Firefly?

 

I know, I don't want Yeon Woo to have been instrumental in the Captain's death by trickery, his smile is too generous, but it's a possibility.

 

Most interesting to me from all of this is the bellhop waiting for his sister to die.  We have yet another reflection of Man Wol's existence in the ghosts of the hotel, I think. 

 

But the Hong Sisters do it everywhere with the moon goddess myths and their versions are even more hilarious if you know or think you know what they're basing them on.  The dancing grannies in the bus?  My guess is dancing nymphs in Diana's grove.  Lol.

i din focus on that scene much, the wine bottle on the tree.. wasn’t that hanged by the princess to lure MW to the lake? she had her own bottle and she had another one with the same symbol which she brought to the palace and confiscated by CM.. the princess might have seen them.. cos she was talking to CM when he noticed a shadow and ditched the princess to follow the shadow (MW).. if i were the princess i would definitely freak out with jealousy if my guy left in the middle of our conversation!!

I can think of a lot of different scenarios, none of which need be true.  I'm just raising it as a possibility based on the way the HS have been using the myths for inspiration so far.  But I really expected the Actaeon myth of voyeurism and reprisal to be part of Man Wol's story, but instead it was the basis for Ghost 13 (and how clever an update was that!).  But we may as well be thinking along these lines and I actually see your scenario above as a possibility.  I think it will be something we haven't thought of yet. 

 

It might tie in to Chang Sun's story - if he's based on Hippolytus as I suspect, CS will be blamed for something he did not do.

Ooh, I would not be mad if Sulli were Veronica. I guess it's too much to ask for Kim Jae Kyung to play Veronica, since Veronica ended up happy with her guy in that drama.

I'm with Joseph here; I don't think escaping the palace was a problem for her. She was able to murder all the guards along the way and wait for Captain Smirk-A-Lot for several minutes in the bride room without anyone else noticing, apparently.

When I saw that scene I thought it was Captain Smirk-A-Lot who hung it, or at least he had some hand in hanging it, whether by making a minion do it for him or handing the jug over to the princess.

I am still waiting for the final boss to review his or her self so we can see an epic showdown between them. So far no one was an even match for the current magical MW. Hopefully the final boss will be review soon like Goblin.
I want to see badass MW fighting like over here again.

The past scene is really poor evidence to judge who's more hurts or bad in comparison there's still unsolved puzzles.

My points is.

CM betrays MW -YW died 

MW,killed SH &CM revenge on YW behalf.

CM killed YW to save MW

YW DIED to save MW.

Writing that's killing circle i couldn't found the reasons why MW herself get such punishment/or blessed by live immortal?

When the reasons it's just her self guilt because she made decision, cause her people's get slaughter it counts  she already get her revenge  at time right?(i didn't meant one live less important than another live, those just comparison )

I meant nothing significant to divine the three of them done something to be blessed/curses such longlife when the reasons just self guilt or revenge.

There's must be a big reasons who's involved another's life being, or such heroics actions wich misunderstanding as bad decisions and time the fact reveal  is to late to correct that mistake  because  the one who should  not die is already died.

 she might  be cursed in a kind big sin thou.

(I think someone already make comparison why KS(goblin) has such cursed.)

hahaha  the CS from the past.

he could have been there, but MW din get to see him.. through the dreams there could have been one final scene where he is seeing from his past life view instead of from MW’s.. wild guess haha! maybe CS was the one leading the new rebel troop.. overthrown that dynasty and took over the emperor role (tada! the crowned clown emperor appears!) but MW had missed all of these since she was wandering in search of the moon inn..
