Happy  New Year everyone now i am a year older. I am more shipping Grim Reaper x SUnny more than I ship Goblin x Eun Tak.It is revealed that grim reaper was Wang Yeo.The way he look at the end he looking evil his expression difference from he as grim reaper that have no memories of his past life.He could have been regretted that he killed the kim shin family and probably has realise that evil eunuch is evil after all but its too late because probably the eunuch has poisoned him.I agree that someone comment in this thread about eunuch kill him.

Strange question, but why ET can't be KS's sister? Fortune-teller said that a ring has a connection with sins and fate of last owner. Maybe it's what GR saw.
When GR cryed for the first time and after, the ring was there in the screen. KS's sister died trying to protect her brother. And ET also confessed that she will better die but won't kill KS. 
The second question who is Sunny then?...it's odd, what the writter is doing with us...What if it's not so complicated as we think?

Supaliaxpress on Tumblr wrote an excellent post that has me thinking about the importance of sincerity and KS's evolving response to the summonings and his relationship with ET. Well worth the read and I wouldn't wish to poorly relay Supaliaxpress' ideas. Springboarding off those thoughts though, I think it's also significant every time ET summons KS or even when he searches her out, he always appears behind her. So, in ep 9, when he ensures that when she first sees him he is beside or in front of her - whether that be on the slope, in the woods or at the top of the ski-lift - it doesn't only represent KS taking the initiative, it's also him saying he wants to be part of ET's present and future as well as her past. He wants to be what ET sees before her, always, which ties in nicely with his uber-sweet 80 year loan plan! KS has had the most beautiful progression - from a death-seeker to fearful in love; from fearful in love to wanting to live secretly in/with that love; to finally forsaking the mushy middle ground and reaching for a living future with ET, openly, happily in love.  

Many have cited KS's last action as a human - approaching the king - as foolhardy or prideful or even wrong. Myself, I've leaned towards prideful but I never considered it wrong. I thought it was the only honorable option left on the table, the one that asked for reason and mercy in the face of injustice, and how could that be wrong? The King was on a bad path and under an evil influence, unable to tell friend from foe and killing people purely on one man's hearsay. When KS approached the King time slowed because it was a momentous moment. Maybe the (after)life KS could have saved if he had succeeded was not just his own but the King's as well? We'll never know. But reading that post and thinking about sincerity, I'm even more convinced KS wasn't wrong. His action was no different from the human who found the tea shop door in his desperation or the desperate pregnant woman who sincerely begged a god for help. It was impossible. Technically, on its face, it should not have worked but sometimes sincerity and desperation can empower a person and make the impossible possible. Sometimes it falls short - as it did with KS in the past; perhaps because he was dealing with the fallible (the King) instead of with the infallible (the divine)? Perhaps because KS had a larger fate awaiting him, the fate of a goblin who helps many lives? Whichever the case may be, successful or not, choosing sincerity matters and I no longer doubt KS was sincere in his actions.

What is with this show and always making us cry? I cry every other ep now. My eyes were open faucets during the school ghost scene. I was a goner the moment she told ET that she and ET's mom used to laminate stuff too. I felt this powerful continuity between women and friends, mothers and daughters. Fantastic. This time when ET cried and spoke to her mom by the edge of the sea, she could laugh too, and be thankful, thanks to the school ghost and KS.  The otp's entire tipsy session was amazing. Just laughing and exchanging kisses. I love GY's hands! When a guy cups a girl's face like that before and after kissing, I die!  KS's moment of realization over ET's necklace was so beautiful and sad too, since he's ensuring that even if his plan to find an alternate fate fails, something of him will always remain with ET, memory or no memory.  

When I think of how intricately this show is plotted... It's just so great! Those Quebec shots had to be filmed during their one visit there and you expect the big moments to be captured - the otp sightseeing or the otp dinners, but KS in flip flops casually roaming Quebec is a tiny detail they could have fudged (just have him disappear behind a door) but didn't. Love!

Thanks for posting the link with the analysis from supaliaxpress! It was really interesting, just like your thoughts completing her analysis. This pushed me to complete my own analysis (see page 1 on this thread) about the topic "walking symbolising living". The more we have episodes, the more striking it is. But let me go back to the episode 7 because from that episode, I had stopped analysing the walking. So this is going to be a long post again!!

In the episode 7, the viewer can even observe how Kim Shin takes the lead in the following scene. She has to go to her school and missed her bus.  

As you can observe, Kim Shin is running in front of her and he is smiling so that his happiness is visible. Yet he is walking because he needs to help JET. So far, his purpose is again not for himself, but for JET. BUT she doesn't know that this makes him happy, for her he is just helping and in my opinion, this is important. Eun Tak doesn't know what this walk means to him. He is by her side, but she doesn't realise the real value of this event. He is living and enjoying it.

Then in the episode 9, unlike in the episode 6 where he waited for Eun Tak whike she was walking,  we contemplate a reversed situation (from the scene shown in the episode 6). In the episode 9, he is the one walking to her, while she is waiting. In this scene (episode 6), Kim Shin recitated a poem and associated Eun Tak to life and death so that we can conclude that Kim Shin was connecting Eun Tak to mortality! Since Ji Eun Tak's walking symbolised life and death, Ji Eun tak can only represent mortality. So in the episode 9, the reversed situation illustrates that Kim Shin is not just going to live, but also his walking symbolises the end of his "immortality". He is in a metaphorical sense giving up his immortality. He goes to his life and death!! Like you @theseasasleep mentioned it, Eun Tak has become his reason to live and to die and now after the last two episodes, Ji Eun Tak is well aware of it. Notice that she summoned him and he didn't appear next to her, like she expected.

He was already waiting for her. He explained this by saying that he wanted to get ahead of her. Nonetheless, we had the impression that the summoning wasn't working any more. Only the explanation gave us a reassurance. Then Ji Eun Tak comments in this scene

 that it hasn't rained lately. She notices that there was no huge weather change lately. I know that it is connected to his happiness, yet I have the impression that the writer is pointing into that direction: he is about to lose little by little his power. As conclusion, I believe, his loss of his immortality is evoked in this scene. Sure, he has not lost his power yet, since he still has the sword in his chest.

Then let's go back to the walking and his position. In the past, I had brought up his passivity. He was either waiting for JET or he was just following her because he felt he had to. Nonetheless, his position has changed. In the episode 9, he walked towards her so that we can see a change of his behaviour: he is now active. Someone can retort that he still keeps walking behind JET in the same episode. However his motivation is different. He is not just following her because he feels he has to; he wants to be by her side and protect... Then he surprises JET by appearing in front of her. This illustrates that he is anticipating things: he is not just behind her, following her but he is trying to do things for her. JET represents his purpose in life and like you wrote, he wants JET to include him in her life, to be her "raison de vivre" (purpose in life) as well. 

But the episode 10 reinforces this idea that actually Kim Shin is more and more living like a human. One of the most striking scene is his trip to Quebec!! This time, we see him walking on his own and alone... looking for JET's necklace. He is no longer the passive man, he is initiating and preparing the future. Just like in the scene where he appeared in front of her. Secondly, the other clue that Kim Shin is living more and more like a human is revealed, when it comes to housework.  In the earlier episodes, we never saw him participating to the housework. But in the last episodes, we see that he is helping now. GR asked him to take care of the laundry, he even went to the grocerystore willingly. He is not delegating task any longer...

Finally, I would like to analyse this particular scene: here we have GR and Kim Shin walking side by side. Sure, the writer wanted to make a parody of the scene in the episode 2. Yet this scene is interesting for many reasons:

- They didn't appear out of nowhere. They are walking like humans (no teleportation)

- Neither GR nor KS use their supernatural powers (lights off aso)

- They are not acting like superheroes: save someone! They are just on the way back home in order to eat their meal! Just an ordinary task, nothing special.

- They don't get upset and angry, when the motorbike driver insults them... they remain calm and say something... remember how mad KS was at the gangsters. He would have killed them, if JET hadn't stopped them. All this illustrates that Kim Shin's resent is lessening, he is more peaceful with this world. 

Like you wrote, @theseasasleep, he is sincerely desiring to live with JET as a human. When he was threatened and warned by the goddess, he actually wanted to remain as a goblin, while living next to JET. The thread worked because he is now trying to behave more like a human (dating JET, helping his friend to reconciliate with her girlfriend). In my opinion, he still likes playing god (stopping time or disappearing in front of the thief/thug), yet he is enjoying more and more a normal life. Notice that when he fought against the thugs, he used his own skills as warrior, he didn't use any supernatural power like in the episode 2 or 8!! He didn't twist his hand with his superpowers... he hurt the guy with the stick!!  

As conclusion, KS is unaware that he is on his way to give up his immortality. When he will accept that he doesn't need his superpower, he will ask JET to remove the sword. However, he will need JET to live as a human. As we can see, the need mentioned with this scene

is another important value that transpire through the drama as well. JET needs love, needs a home, needs protection... just like KS needs to stop resenting the world and god!

couldn't agree more with it @NRGchick. Somehow GB has find the way for him to live with ET, through that barging accident. It's by creating his(and ET)own destiny. The only think he has to do is knocking the heaven's door. How? Show his stronger will to the God. That he (and ET) wants to live without one of them(needs to)die. God may already has set GB's fate, but if His creature has bigger will, i bet God's will (allow the fate to be) change. 

Actually, this 'human will can change their destiny' theme has been mentioned by @packmule3 and @maryofbethany before. Sorry to cut your long post, i just want to quote the important part here. Please read the purple highlighted sentence below.

I dont know if any of you already brought this up about the secretary kim. I think he is the reincarnation of this person. Someone who always by kim shin side after the battlefield, someone who stabbed the sword to kim shin by kim shin order.

The ring never touched ET and KS does not recognize the ring, as it was given to the queen by the king.
It's sort-of a wedding ring, full of promise, but as it was given to the queen by a king who already sinned by ordering the deaths of many and ordered many more to come. Even killing the queen, his first love. So he sinned against love, live and the higher beings.

Seeing that the ring was not buried/burned with the queen, it let's us guess that the king took it back as a memento and that's how it could survive (or get into the RedLadies collection)

Hello chinggus! How was the first day of Year 2017? Still can't get over Goblin? Don't worry, you're not alone. 

Hmm. Some things have been bothering me (since the latest episode):

1. Deok Hwa. 

I have these FEELINGS that he is either just an ancestor of KS's assistant or, he is somewhat MORE important than that. I don't know, I don't want to assume anything, that's why it kept on bothering me.  DH meeting the Red Lady twice just kept on creeping up my brain. 

2. The Assistant

I can't accept that he is the reincarnation of WY's evil eunuch.  Yes, he became KS's assistant, but I feel like there is still something missing. What's the story behind the scene where he kept on calling Goblin's present name? Well.. I think I missed some scenes? 

3. Souls

When you die, you will meet a GR. However, do you have the option to stay for a while and do something (such as life missions) before drinking the tea made by the GRs? There are already some scenes where the ghosts suddenly disappear after fulfilling their wishes. Have these souls met their GRs already?  JET's mom's bff just disappeared when she was able to give the money to Eun Tak. JET's mom's soul disappeared when she was able to say goodbye to her~ almost similar? However, Eun Tak's mom is considered a missing soul because she was supposed to be dead, so I am sure that these kinds of souls are not missing souls. 

4. Comfort Room

The human being suddenly entering the tearoom of GR for necessity's sake is a sign of loophole (I suppose). Only the souls, GR and the Goblin can enter that tearoom, obviously. From the previous analysis, IF THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY. So from desperation, the human being made it possible to enter the tearoom. I always wonder what the outside of GR's tearoom look like? If the door was somewhat invincible, then how did the human found it? The only thing I can remember about the tearoom was from Episode 1, where GR and WY stared at each other through the wall.  Other scenes were always inside the room. 

I feel like I missed a lot of scenes.
