In the link above its a SS VS MSS and who NQs true love is and who he actually cares about. It's so damn hilarious and literally the video editor put side by side the way NQ treats SS and cares about her so much VS MSS. Like everytime there's danger NQ would never ever think about leaving SS side he just jumps in to protect her whereas with MSS when they're in danger in the wilderness he's always the first to be running away and going go protect yourself HAHAHA. This video brings me so much joy and reassurance. I think we've been swamped with too much lovey dovey scenes between NQ and MSS that i forget how good NQ treated SS and cares for her haha.

I think the novel successfully established that NQ/SS are equals. After all, SS calling NQ young master only began when they left Wei city. That is why NQ describes that when SS calls him Xiao Ye it is always with disdain, not with affection. But tv SS was established as NQ's maid from the beginning, so SS is perceived as lesser status than NQ. The changes made to the tv series will, while i understand their intention, will affect the presentation of the NQ-SS dynamics. It also affects how others see them too. 

Haha! I like your observation she seemed more interested in SS from the calligraphy to NQ mentioning her all the time.  Maybe she just wanted to get together with NQ to finally get a chance to meet the amazing SS? 

 

Yes, the whole master/maid dynamic is different in the drama. I'm not really understanding why they chose to change it this way.  I remember being confused during the mountain trial  when NQ mentions that SS says "young master" with disdain and I was thinking "Does she? Really?" I don't speak Chinese but SS doesn't sound disdainful in the drama but it makes much more sense reading the novel when we know she only recently started calling him "young master" since they moved to the city.

I think CFY is in hot search list coz he became no.1 noona-killer and ahjumma-killer.  I guess everybody here in the forum should be 18 and above. I don't know how they call these terms in Chinese.   He looks so gigantic with all those clothes in EN.  But in reality he is only 18.    I saw some of his pics posted recently on his weibo,  he is such a handsome young boy.  Hope he does some coming of age/high school projects.

Oh he looks good in those new project  pics also.

How many  of you reader like FuZi from the novel.?? I love and hate him. He is smart and powerful but he himself doesn’t know everything. I have come to understanding that Youngest Uncle didn’t get the full picture and FuZi is hoping that NQ can fully understand the question that was given to him and answer it in full so the past doesn’t repeat itself. 

I really hated NQ’s punishment because this punishment is really bad for his mental state. FuZi knew NQ would need SS there with him. This punishment would have driven him insane because of his past. I was really upset with NQ wanting to easy way is wrong but this isolation is killing him. He should do itI fear that NQ is strong  but he has fears and those fears and lack of confidence in himself at times is what kept him from moving forward at times. 

 

I also realized that NQ has only shown his true self to Sang Sang and no one else. Chen PiPi love to tell him that his reaks of being fake. Lol lol

@rhaps  I didn’t  care for him either. Then he showed up and he pisse me off but as a continued I needed understand why is he punishing my baby especially when he probably knows his fear of being abandoned.  

 

I do like Tang XiaoTang. Do I smell a romance brewing between her CHen PiPi. He says she is his type . Lol lol I love her because when she saw Sang Sang she made no judgement and like her but MSS made judgement because her perception of her was to high. 

 

Mao Ni did a great job creating a character that although he is selfish but he still has compassion. He buries all his good character very deeply within himself. NQ’s fear of abandonment is so raw but losing Sang Sang and his brother and sisters will hurt him the most.  FuZi knew that which made me very mad.

I think in Mao Ni's work no one is ever truly good or bad.. they all have their reason, its all in our perspective in reading them.... everyone can be a hero in their own story... either its NQ.. or LQ. 

 

@UnniSarah I like Fu Zi even tho he's an irresponsible teacher LOL. But he has his reason in placing NQ in seclusion... Fu zi is not a noble person, and can even be little selfish at times but he's true to himself, and that for me is what matters most.

 

Let me share this story.......

In the future, Fuzi during his trip with NQ and SS, will share his past, he was one a scholar bla bla bla... and the end he was roped in helping to build the Tang Empire with the first emperor. Chang An city as an array etc was build under his supervision. So he told NQ, of course the pestle [Yan Se's last gift to NQ] belongs to NQ, because NQ is not only Yan Se's student, he's also his student LOL.

 

Anyway, when the first emperor became muddle head and can't govern the empire well, Fu zi didn't have any choice except to kill that emperor and crown a new one. This part of a history, in the future will be repeated by NQ, where he's going to be the one to determine the next emperor as in his rights as Fu Zi's student. [I still feels the chills remembering what NQ did] 

 

Fu zi created the academy as the pilar of Tang Empire and he help to build this empire... So even tho this is an arrogant way of thinking as the oldest person alive, he does have the right to decide the matters of the Empire. But rest assured he doesn't do this forever.. I think even before the current emperor take the throne, he doesn't interfere much with empire matter anymore. 

 

In my opinion, NQ is proud of becoming FZ and academy's student, not because of the prestige but more because he fells like he fits in... fu zi is not a noble person, and so is NQ.

 

Just like when NQ was upset when he's questioned of his worth of being Yan Se's student, when he finds out that Yan Se lied and sell a fake Chicken Soup calligraphy he feels happy haha.. because his master is not as noble as everyone thought.....

 

Its weird when we think about it.. but its how NQ's mind work I guess. He clearly know who he is.. and noble he is not.

   I totally agree with you. He is poor, no background  and people don't respect him . Everything he does is to survive and take care of Sang Sang .  One thing I love is that Jian Da Jia hates FuZi and I think she will be so pissed at him if anything happen to Ning Que under his watch. Even Second Brother won't be happy. Second brother doesn't speak much but he does care and understand Ning Que just like Third Sister does.
