Will YSJ disobey military rules/order again since this time, it involves the woman he cares about? Or - will the commander retract his order since it now involves the life of his daughter? i think this will be ruled out of formal action... as we seen the alpha team dressed in black at the preview.. once again to attack the Asparagus gangs ... i believe the mission is to get the medication and save the captain also.... with her daughter condition and what ruckus happen because of that diamonds i think general Yoon will not take the option as disobey orders.... one of the lines in the preview is "they seem to know our military strength" and that said either by SDY or YSJ... and it means (I predict) about the Asparagus gangs already having knowledge about the platoon inside YSJ base command. i feel a little worried about this. i hope the alpha team along with the soldiers can kick their butt

hazeljrr_c922
Daniel....why do I get the feeling that he is undercover and observing Argus? How is he both a doctor and mechanic and have a store front with Ye Hwa, who is both a nurse and accupuncturist, and that both know guns as peacekeepers? And he is on a one-year sabbatical. Why are they conveniently near the place where Argus is?

But I feel like he was pursuing her because he felt so strongly about her that he was hoping she'd return those same strong feelings, and that will help her overcome her fears about his job. One thing that I noticed or that I found interesting in this series is that in essence, YSJ and KMY is an example of the age old cliche of insta-love. YSJ saw KMY once and he pretty much fell at first sight. If this was any other drama/writer/actors, it might not be so believable that after spending less than 20 hrs together (hospital first meeting + 2 unsuccessful dates), 2 grown people would still have lingering feelings for each other for 8 months. But I don't really see anyone complain about the implausibility of that. Either because 1) KMY is played by SHK and if anyone can make a man fall insta-love with her, it's that kind of beauty. 2) SJK who plays YSJ is so cheeky and such a good flirt that we really don't care. Either way, this is an amazing drama! <3
gilaswan
@happifruit Absolutely loved the way you broke it down. Honestly, knowing that KES wrote Heirs (and I absolutely could not stand the show because of how the female lead was treated by the men in that show), I almost wrote this drama off. I'll admit it - the trailers with SJK got me. Too fine a specimen, again I say. Too, too fine. I think I liked it too when he showed some worry on his face that she might be going back to Korea when he asked if her name was on the list of passengers returning, as well as that look of slight confusion when she said no - he had been rejected so many times, could she really be doing this because of him? Ah... it all seems so perfect. But isn't this exactly how we want the romances to be like? So different from how she wrote Heirs. A man who knows how to take charge of the situation when it calls for it, but also one who knows how to respect a woman as equal. Swoony swoon swoon...
Popular Post kingpin
=========== BTW 16 K-Drama OSTs That Will Bring All the Feels Back sophfly March 28, 2016 As all the drama addicts out there probably know, a successful drama isn’t exclusively driven by an intricate plot, smooth camerawork, or even a star-studded cast. Popular Post twtwb
And the syndrome continues “Descendants of the Sun” achieves an international success “Descendants of the Sun” is the latest Korean drama to achieve an international success and overseas recognition, having only aired 10 episodes of the intended 16. The drama tells the story of Yoo Si Jin, a captain of the special forces in the military, and Dr. Kang Mo Yeon, and the romance they attempt in a time of war. The drama achieved an immense success in Asia especially in China where it caused concern with the country’s Ministry of Public Security posting a warning on its official Weibo account against the drama warning viewers “watching Korean dramas could be dangerous, and even lead to legal troubles”. It is part of a growing concern among Chinese officials who are wary of the growing influence of Korean pop culture on the Chinese populace since the similar success of My Love from the Star in 2014. The drama became available globally on Viki with subtitles in many languages created by the volunteer community. Each episode is available to stream a couple hours after the original Korean broadcast. In the Middle East, the popularity of the main leads Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo soared, encouraging a number of fansubs and a fanbase in a number of Arabic countries. This is mainly intensified after the news of the first KCON being held in the middle East in UAE, and Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates buying the broadcast rights for the drama, which means that it’s set to be shown on local TV soon. The drama was translated to over 32 languages and it’s expected to gain more popularity with upcoming episodes. http://www.theasian.asia/archives/94019 .... Jin Goo scores a number of advertising gigs after his role on 'Descendants of the Sun' Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are not the only stars who are all the rage thanks to their starring in the popular war-romance drama 'Descendants of the Sun'; actor Jin Goo has also been on the rise as a trending star, proved by the slew of ad gigs that he's been scoring of late! It's been reported that the actor recently received offers for over 20 ads, all of which he is in the process of considering. An insider in the advertising industry relayed, "[These days], actors who possess a dad or family-oriented image and also actors who are young and trendy are cast as models for ads. Jin Goo is a family man but he's also got the trendy image thanks to 'Descendants of the Sun.' He's become an actor who can swallow a diverse array of products. His image definitely became more positive due to his role in the drama." Jin Goo's agency expressed gratitude toward everyone for showing Jin Goo so much love, saying, "Thank you for all the love. [Jin Goo] has worked hard by walking a single path silently for the longest time, and it seems [people] finally recognized that so all the staff who have worked him are very happy [for him]." Jin Goo is the prime example that hard work eventually pays off! http://www.allkpop.com/article/2016/03/jin-goo-scores-a-number-of-advertising-gigs-after-his-role-on-descendants-of-the-sun

juzluvpink
I saw some comments or comparison to TVN's Signal. I am watching this drama now and it's good. It very gripping and mysterious. It's definitely a good drama. But it's silly to compare them because genre is just different. Whatever is it, both are good dramas. *thumbs up* I feel KES do better w more mature love lines. Heirs just *cough**cough*. Gentlemen's Dignity was funny. Refreshing as most drama don't focus on older men or women.
swiss123
Maybe it is because epiosde 9 and 10 have so many cute and sweet scenes, waiting for episode 11 did not seem so excruciating this time round, especially when the preview just seems so dark. Just surprised that Miyeon was kidnapped so quickly since we have 6 episodes left. But well, i think after resolving the epidemic and the kidnapping issue, the episodes left is probably time for them to resolve their problems or issues. I don't wish for much, but a happy ending please!!! Just curious, Mi Yeon received that golden business card from the Arabs which she had not used it yet right? Hopefully she will put it to good use!!

Either way, this is an amazing drama! <3 I'm not so sure it's "insta-love". It certainly was "insta-ttraction" for them, and he was clearly very interested in pursuing it towards something serious. After all, when Gen Yoon told them they had a week to say good-bye to girlfriends and family, he went straight to see her, clearly because he wanted to find out if there would be a possibility of an 8-month wait. But he didn't even get to tell her that he was leaving for a long-drawn mission because the conversation didn't even get close to that. My reckoning is that when she said no to him at the cafe, that was pretty much it - she didn't know he was going to be away for 8 months overseas and I assume she just assumed their lives would not cross paths again, regardless of whether they were (likely in her mind) physically in Seoul together. So perhaps he goes on that date with the stewardesses in what was left of the week and went off to Urk without much thought about her anymore except for those fleeting moments of likely loneliness in Urk, contemplating what-ifs. When months later YSJ receives word from Korea that they would be expecting a medical team and her name is on the list of people to expect, SDY is the one who points it out to him, and YSJ clearly remembers her name and more. For me, this hints at the likelihood that the boys, in their quieter evenings in Urk, probably talked about loves and hits and misses - she must have been a constant topic in their conversations for SDY to point it out to him first. But there is no love yet. There is a "would have been potential". And when SDY raised it, YSJ is hesitant. He tells SDY "I think we're just bumping into each other as our paths cross." KMY made her position extremely clear back in Seoul, and YSJ was not getting his hopes up in any way. In any case, she was meant to be there for only 15 days - it could not be more than a fling if anything happened, and as we have seen of Cpt Yoo thus far by that point, he's not really the "one fling" sort of person. He wanted to pursue something long term, something serious. So he intended to be absolutely cool about it at the pick-up on the tarmac - he strode right past her without nary a glance in her direction even though he knew from the files sent over that she was the person in charge of the medical team and should have therefore been his counterpart and direct liaison personnel. It's just that I think that remnants of the "insta-ttraction" in Seoul was tugging at him again and when it was just down to the 2 of them, away from the eyes of his men, he had to do something. Remember in Seoul, he was always on her turf in the hospital - this time, she was on his and he certainly has an image to uphold before his men, and no way, with how guys talk when they are only in the company of each other, would they not have heard about her. As it was, didn't they already know he was travelling 90mins from camp to the hospital for a "pretty doctor" back in Seoul? But the captain must maintain a sense of authority in front of his men, so he becomes that silly idiot in front of her, bad joke and all, making a girl cry within minutes of her arrival from Seoul. "Already?!" asked SDY in absolute incredulity when he saw Cpt Yoo running after a tearful Dr Kang so soon after they welcomed the medical team. High tension events shortly after KMY's arrival at Moruwu Camp however forced the couple to confront certain feelings for each other, which Cpt Yoo was clearly more ready to address than Dr Kang - hence his question to her plainly before he left (and by this time, it could not have been more than a week together at close range), "Do I confess or do I apologise?" It would have been a rollercoaster of emotions for KMY in this very short week because I am sure her attractions for him were awakened at this unexpected visit (and we know she did still think of him in those 8 months because we had shots of her thinking about the helipad encounter before she flew up to Urk). She couldn't make a decision, and rightfully so. This chap keeps flashing in and out of her life, and the encounters in all seriousness get ludicrously more intense each time she meets him. As dear hubby shouted into the TV while watching this, "Run away! That's no guy you wanna date!" But YSJ has quite, most certainly fallen very hard for her by this point and we see him leaving disappointed, hurt, and probably contemplating if his army career might have robbed him of something very valuable, just before he returns to Seoul. The earthquake is another major life-threatening event (nothing like a life threatening event to make you evaluate relationships in life) that throws our OTP back together and he needs to tell her that he's been truly serious about her; he's hoping, almost pleading, for her to consider him once more. KMY is moved, but she is obviously someone who tries to rationalise feelings away, and I can see how it helps in medicine to just be like that. Being pragmatic is safer and it's clearly guaranteed successes in her life thus far. YSJ's job requires the other form of thinking - being pragmatic is useless when you're about to die. Thinking on your feet and quickly has served him much better. They are fundamentally quite different in the way they approach crises. And falling in love, not having control of those feelings - that's quite a crisis, no? Our couple has not had an easy journey so far, and I certainly wouldn't put this journey as an "insta-love" one. Our Dear Captain Yoo had to work for this love. He, very clearly, was the person pursuing her. And very actively so.
