[Drama 2018] 100 Days My Prince / Hundred Days' Husband, 백일의 낭군님

Yes, that’s true that they would both normally be put to death. The problem is I don’t think this drama will go there. I figure a good compromise would be to have both exiled. As we saw with WD and HS, living a commoner’s life is difficult. They didn’t seem to have much to eat until Yool won the reward from the king and when he copied those books. MY and his person will surely not find it an easy life. However, I do see the unfairness of them living while others have died through their actions. Like CP’s bodyguard who was just doing his job of escorting and protecting the prince. Why should MY live when he died and many others as well? His life is certainly not any more valuable than theirs.

Am I missing something? I’m so confused why HS’s oppa went back to hanyang and tried to get back together with CP. now that your sister has had to be apart from her husband and you guys were about to run off, you go back to the very place you were gonna run away from? And when he tells the CP that he didn’t want her family to be in trouble, does hat even make sense when her dads the one that killed his?

When he returned to Hanyang, he wanted to know if the child was his and he even imagined that he would try to run away with her. This move reveals once again his selfishness. To me, MY doesn't really deserve to live because not only he killed innocent people for an evil man, he also helped the one who had killed his father. He never tried to avenge his father's death. Striking is MY's hypocrisy because he tried to convince YS that LY was "the enemy" as his father was responsible for their father's death. He is well aware that the Vice-Minister killed his own father... Yet, in order not to feel guilty, he tried to put the blame on the King and his family. Sure, the actual king is not innocent either but he is only partially to blame, since he was pushed by KEC.

I don't feel sorry for the Crown Princess and MY. Both have something in common: a certain selfishness. By running back to Hanyang, MY shows his selfishness. His own love is more important than his sister's love. CP has blood on her hands as well...

What caught my attention is the CP's favourite flower: dandelion. And it symbolizes "willful directive to survive"/hope, which fits CP's personality. She hasn't given up her hope and dream to leave the palace... I sense that the Crown Prince might become lenient towards her, when he realizes that her lover is YS's brother.

@bebebisous33. Yes that would be an easy "out" for the writer if your theory proves true.  I am just annoyed that she led us on this wild goose chase about the paternity of the baby's Father right to the end just to give us that.  With all the breadcrumbs - red bracelet, dandelions etc, it all points to MY...why bother to keep dragging it out right to the end?  I would rather all that effort be put into sorting out the Palace affairs.  Even if KCE is taken down, what of the Queen and Minister Jung - they are pretty power hungry too?  And now a war is brewing in the background?  Perhaps KCE's plan to have LY die in battle (like Plan B?  Or was that Plan A from the get go?).

It will be hard enough for HS to accept that her righteous Brother was and still is, an assassin (previews seem to imply that this confrontation will occur), add sleeping with another man's wife to shatter that ideal.  It would be devastating for her.  So maybe as some here have explained it could very well be that her Brother just decided that once he joined KCE, he would be on that slippery slope to the dark side.  Whilst KCE chipped away at his morality by having him kill people, the CPrincess chipped away at his decorum by seducing him (yes it was probably consensual) until finally he became a shadow of the man he would have been had he stayed the course...hence his consistently black attire right through the drama (the only time he wore anything different was when he saw HS in the village, as if to imply that she was some memory of the man that he should've been).

@JojoCx3 does it actually say remake?  When I read it, the Chinese (although my Chinese is a bit rusty) says they are fighting for the rights to air it in China (I Guess broadcasting channels are battling it out for rights to air it exclusively on their channel).  China had some clamp down on KDramas a while back.  I think it's only recently been lifted.  8.4% is some gauge on interest level on chatter online in China so lots of people are talking about it.  Someone else can verify.

You are right. Remaining by KCE's side, MY got corrupted and only the existence of his sister stopped him to become ruthless to the core. When he saw his sister happy with LY suffering from amnesia, he decided to disobey KCE's order and faked the Crown Prince's death. So he had some decency left. The Crown Princess is not different from him: her own happiness and love cause the death of many people. To conclude, MY got affected by this toxic environment.

As for the Vice-Minister's plan: it is clear that he wants to use the war between Ming and the Joseon King in order to get rid of the Crown Prince and even the King. Notice the similarity between the beginning of the conspiracy (episode 1) and the offer with the Ming Emissary. He gave a stone in both case. So the one receiving the stone believes to be in advantage, while in reality he will be used to get rid of an enemy. In order to ensure that KCE loses everything, his treachery has to be unveiled (the stone) as he can be accused of treason. The question is: will the Ming emissary really betray the Crown Prince?

In order to defeat his enemies, LY must win the war... Imagine if his father dies, then the Queen has no power over him any longer. If he becomes victorious and the father is still alive, he might even become the next King, because he surpasses his own father and if the Queen is also involved in some scandal, then his father's reputation might get tainted. In my opinion, LY could even reveal the whole truth: what his father did in the past aso so that he is forced to abdicate. As you can see, I come to the conclusion... he needs to defeat his own father in the end. Back then, he couldn't do anything as he was too young and powerless. Yet he has gathered little by little the support of many people...

@bebebisous33, I am all for justice too and I couldn’t agree more with your points. If this was a classic saguek I would wholly expect death for all three of these characters but I have lowered my expectations. I mean, even heroine Dae Jang Geum was tortured in Jewel in the Palace and many times she just barely escaped a possible sentence of death. That’s how deadly life in the palace and a classic saguek can be. I don’t think it will happen here though because I have never seen a crown princess so often on the street as this one  and the only people doing the killing is CE and his people. Not even the king executing people.

SBGB – Believe (100 Days My Prince OST Part 4)

Following the secret shadow of the moonlight
To where you are
My heart is still flowing
Toward you

Wooo
To you, who lingers in eternity

Our memories
Our love
Just like now, believe you, believe you
Even if the moonlight
Slowly fades away
I’ll go to where you are

When the white flower petals fall
You will miss me too
You’ll feel that the day we’ll meet again
Is not too far away

Wooo
Just wait a little longer

Our fate
Our love
Just like now, believe you, believe you
Even if the moonlight
Slowly fades away
I’ll go to where you are

Beautiful times
Memories with you
Just like now, remember, remember
When I see the flower petals flying in the sky
I miss you
Again today

Good points.  Whilst I feel like death (for MY and CPrincess) would be redemptive, like you I feel like this writer will not give it to us.  She may send them off to exile instead (especially seeing she is with child) and have them live in the countryside surrounded by a field of flowers to bypass the pubic outcry because she has painted the lovers as victims of a cruel KCE.  Does not absolve them from having concocted plans to murder to save their own skins in my eyes but this is drama land where happy ever afters seem the norm.  Will LY kill KCE (his Father in law?)?  Shaman's foretelling of his hand wielding a sword dripping with blood seems to imply yes?

I have faith in the Ming emissary. with what happened with his daughter, there is some sort favour owed?

Especially if the daughter told her father about the brave young woman who helped rescue her from the ruffians. And this brave young woman is the daughter of a supposed traitor.

I am still trying to figure out what would be the evidence for KCE's downfall. The diary may not be enough evidence and how to prove that the child is not his? CP is in a dilemma because an innocent baby will be affected by what he  chooses to reveal. Throw in the fact that he will find out the father of the baby is the brother of the woman he loves.....urghhh.

I hope HS will try to put her brother on the right path. Maybe to even ask for forgiveness from CP. [Don't do the stupid running away or worse, asking Dimples to marry her and take her away from HanYang]

Herein will lie the dilemma for Dimples, for loyalty or for love.

Arghhh... so it is one more episode or two??

So I go to check on the drama's Naver page and this popped up - see the bit in green?  That's new.  It wasn't there yesterday when I checked if there was 15 or 16 episodes.  Seems to imply there will be 16 after all?  Korean speakers please verify.

If the writer painted them as victims, she didn’t convince me. I thought MY was a victim when he was younger but when he became an adult willingly executing CE’s orders, he ceased to be a victim to me. People have to take responsibility for their own lives and decisions. I actually tend to believe MY allowed the crown prince to live mainly because he lost his memory and secondly, because of HS.

As to the crown princess, she seems like a survivor, always adapting to the changing situation to preserve herself. I don’t know if I would consider her a victim. Usually back in that time noble women were married off according to their father’s or family’s arrangements (which are still seen in modern Korean drama especially in rich families). I guess we should be glad we don’t live in that era. :sweatingbullets: So I don’t see her as a victim. Not to mention the fact that she sure know how to employ “the dead men tell no tales” action plan to save herself while killing others. She might be frustrated that she can’t have the man she wants but I don’t see that her denied wishes make her a victim.

@celebrianna I agree.  I don't see them as victims but I feel like the writer is trying to do so to have the audience buy into a happy-ever-after for them.  Otherwise everyone would be wanting to punish them for their crimes to see justice done and the audience would want them both dead or at the very least punished severely.  It sounds like MY is plotting to kill another innocent to frame as the baby's Father in spite of his assassin Friend telling him to just cut his losses and flee?  The trail of innocent lives they have both concocted to do away with to cover up their sordid past and achieve their own happiness (at the expense of others) doesn't put them in my "deserving of a happy ever after" list.  We'll see what the writer will give us next week. :sweatingbullets:

On Demand Korea (ODK) has all the currently airing shows that DramaFever had. The problem is I don’t know if and when they’ll add English subs. I first heard about this on Dramamilk’s blog. They said ODK was advertising that they will be adding these shows. 100 Days My Prince is on there presently but last I checked English subs were not available.<_<

Oh wow, the whole puzzle thing is so clever.. ok I’ll try to explain it ..

Starting with the puzzle Yul gave to Jisoo

民草 ___ 萬願

has 1 rectangle, has 2, then blank, has 4 rectangles, has 5.

民草means citizen, 萬願means 10 thousand wishes.

So the blank has to be a word with 3 rectangles and will connect the meaning of ‘citizen’ with ‘10 thousand wishes’.

was Jeyoon ans which means ‘net’ (so the 5 words tog literally means ‘with citizens, you net thousands of wishes’)

Yul criticise tat this ans is too simple. The correct ans is (see the 3 rectangles?).

means to embrace or to conceive (making phrase to mean ‘citizen embrace thousands of wishes’ or ‘with citizen, thousand of wishes are conceived’)

******First puzzle solved*****

2nd puzzle :

This was Yul msg to Jeyoon b4 losing his memory. In ep14, Yul explains tat he must hv set it to the level Jeyoon can handle (like in puzzle 1, counting rectangles) - CP so cheeky..

In , there are 5 rectangles. Yul thinks it means 5 doorways fr where his room. 4 places were identified but diary cannot be found.

When they found out tat the diary title is
杜口 which has 1 rectangle already, they minus this rectangle fr the 5 in , leading Jeyoon to CP library which is 4 doorways away.

Jeyoon did find diaries there but not for month of Mar. He went ahead to burn the place to gain VP trust.

So now we move to the aim of finding Mar’s diary.

This word is also made up of 2 separate words (foot) and (heavy).

Going back to Jeyoon theory when he first started solving this, he looked for places where Yul footsteps will be heavy
-> leading to cherry tree

-> which was chopped down by the Crown princess

-> leading to Jeyoon searching at Crown princess premises (where he was caught)

-> where Jeyoon found the evil talisman place by the Queen

Leading to him asking Yul if the Queen is the answer to his 2nd puzzle. But Yul don’t remember.

So puzzle 2 is still not solved.

Tat scene after library was burnt gave the answer. Yul says, has to be coupled with cherry tree cos the secret letter has the cherry word as the seal

So Jeyoon was right in figuring out answer to
is cherry. And in Chinese, cherry is written as which has 6 rectangles.

Thus, the Mar diary is kept in a room tat is 6 doorways away from the CP library (which is 4 doorways fr prince room) and in the box tat was made fr the cherry tree tat was chopped down.

So clever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (clapping!!!!)

I say how am I supposed to comment or critique when every couple of pages has the kiss in slow mo.

All I can say is those 2 can kiss. DO is impressive in that he dares to kiss as an actor. Lol.

So yeah no actual thoughts about the flow or plot. Or plot holes. Or MY.

All I can say is that WD can kiss. And it looks like a nice kiss scene vs some awful looking scenes. And he doesn't swallow NJH's mouth. And did I see only or an upper lip preference kissing?

Cos' I swear since I was watching 4 episodes the last day that I have seen quite a lot of kissing gif. Or did you guys write anything else?

Me didn't notice. The kissing scenes overwhelmed my thoughts on this drama. And I still haven't watched a single video of the male lead as an idol singer. Don't spoil my image of him as an actor.

:lol: yep, he surprisingly can give us a good kiss even with that wide headpiece. He managed the best angle without bumped NJH forehead with that hat. For upper lip kissing,....well.... he's still an adolescent for the real kiss scene, this is his first time —as long as I know— DO kiss the female lead for real and more than once. Before he was kissing an umbrella then some light smooches and got kissed by a girl. Lol.... Me and my kisses research. :sweatingbullets:
