Saltar directamente al Episodio 23 ... es una especie de bolsa mixta, aunque sucedieron muchas cosas. Obtenemos más de Na Xi, que es a la vez molesta y genial, y la angustia de nuestra querida pareja que se ve obligada a separarse (me gusta un poco la angustia cuando hay suficiente motivación para ello, que en este caso la hay). Pero, por supuesto, espero con ansias que se reconcilien.

We start from the King talking to CY. He says he kept XM in the palace as a guard because he didn't want power to be held in the Xue family's hands (XM was a talented General) - so instead he essentially held XM as a hostage in the palace (Seriously how did this King stay on the throne for so long - he's crazy). But XM was so loyal - the King even says it's unfortunate he died because then he wouldn't be as worried about Xi Zhao. Anyway, CY puts her foot down about drinking any more of his "bird's nest" and the King just puts on a show of kindness - basically they both know she's being kept here because she's still of use. 

NX comes in and requests for another accommodation place to get away from her "controlling" uncles - she asks to stay with CY. CY finds it strange but obviously has no choice in the matter. She shows NX around Jin Que Palace. NX wasn't fooled by CY's earlier tricks and knows she was trying to run away from the palace - she decided to say with CY because it seemed like they had similar personalities (in terms of not blindly doing what they're told). NX picks her bed to sleep in because she prefers the hardness.

Mr Bai reports to XY that the medicine DS gave only contained the best herbs, and it was very good for CY. XY tells him to do a thorough check, because DS is someone CY trusts, and he must be trustworthy (actually I'm hoping the same... CY doesn't have that many people on her side). 

XY goes to see DS on the pretext of getting more medicine for CY. He wonders how DS knew that CY was drugged. It gets a bit tense as DS replies, "Before General started protecting the Princess, it was Shun Wang and me who cared for her all along". It's like they're testing how much to trust the other. 

XC comes to see CY, worried that she had been harmed. He thinks they should definitely leave. NX overhears their convo and tells them to bring her out - which they oblige, because CY can't leave the palace without NX. They go around the streets and NX wonders at all the new food and things in Nan Sang. She tries to pay for something but fails when the vendor doesn't recognise her currency (the previous metal from Xi Zhao). CY drags her away before she makes a scene. 

NX finds cosmetics and skincare at a stall interesting. They go to Pan Xiang Ge (the famous store which sells Liu Yun Fei Xue, owned by XC). There's a line of ladies waiting to get their hands on LYFX. CY remembers the receipt she had asked XY about. She starts to make the link between XM and Lady Yun and the questions XY asked her before. XC takes her to a corner and checks her bell (NX clocks it), putting more LYFX in it (to be honest, I have no idea why they're putting such a supposedly expensive powder into the bell - can't any ordinary powder do? ) Meanwhile, XY has arrived outside after LJ reported to him about CY.

XC tells the story behind LYFX. A long time ago, there was a couple in love - the man's name was Liu Yun, and the lady's name was Fei Xue. The man went to war and died at the border. The lady was married to a man she didn't love. Her hair turned white in a day. Then it turned out that the man did not die; he sent this salve called LYFX to the lady, which turned her hair back and she regained her youthful looks. But in order to protect her honour and propriety, the two never saw each other again. CY thinks to herself that there are many points that overlap with XM and Lady Yun. XC says he heard this from the palace, but also that he merely used the story to sell his amazing product.

XY meets with CY privately and she finds out that he already knew about LYFX. She reassures him that she didn't tell anyone, not even XC. Then she tries to leave but he stops her. He says, "You seemed disappointed after hearing XC's story. Can I understand it as this - you hoped for a different ending?"

She looks at him and says, "Where there is hope, there is disappointment." Preview bit where she says he doesn't have to accompany her at night anymore, that he's the General who shouldn't be her pillow. "Don't trouble yourself over my problems, and don't get involved anymore." He says, "If I don't come, you will die." She says that she won't because her Father will not trouble her anymore. He asks if she believes that, and she just says that she has to. 

XY grabs her wrist and tells her to come home with him. She releases herself and says that they're divorced. Preview scene where he says he's worried about her all the time. 

NX causes a scene this time when she tries to buy a hair ornament with her currency. CY and XC step in. XC offers it to her - she takes it this time because she's paid, and she's leaving. XY calls out, "Chu Yue!" XC takes CY's wrist, and XY watches them leave.

@Jessica Vargas Rubio Can't tell for sure... it's CY wearing the wedding garb. I feel like it has to be a re-marriage between CY and XY for the scene to have any impact - because otherwise XY wouldn't need to push her away. I'm pretty sure nothing is going to happen with XC - he was never really in contention, even if he may tease CY about it.

 

WOW Episode 24! So much happened I'm getting tired thinking of recapping it LOL. Lots of relationships get entangled - and it turns out I was wrong in thinking I was wrong! - NX does know XY. I like that XY is taking the initiative now, and I kinda like how they're progressing, but as we saw with the previews, they still have more obstacles to overcome.

 

Episode 24 Recap (most likely two parts):

 

The negotiations between the King and Xi Zhao are going badly - the King has offered them a trading outpost but they are not satisfied. The King loses his temper and has his men threaten to kill the ambassador. The ambassador just says that killing him would give Xi Zhao a legitimate reason to start a war (seriously this King...). He adds that without the expertise of Xi Zhao's blacksmiths, all Nan Sang would get are blocks of stone. 

CY and NX are on their way out - CY is dressed in a pretty red dress per NX's request (in the earlier ep). TY notes that a flower looks like "Li Ren" Flower, the flower they saw at "Xue.." before she catches herself. CY thinks sadly of her time with XY. They run into Lady Su, who's obviously looking to cause trouble. Lady Su says that it's the death anniversary of a former king, and CY is being extremely disrespectful. She orders people to capture CY to pull the dress off her and slap her. (In the previous Eps 21-22 - I forgot which - there was a scene where the King reprimanded Lady Su for trying to marry CY off, as CY had predicted. So she's humiliated and angered by losing favour, and taking it out on CY). NX looks incredulous at the way things are unfolding and steps in. She slaps Lady Su, who stumbles and when she rises again, slaps her other cheek (I can't say that it's not satisfying). CY tries to apologise but neither NX nor Lady Su are having it. XY appears at the chaos.

Lady Su commands XY to arrest both of them. XY does not comply as everyone involved are of nobility.  He declares that he only obeys orders from the King, and asks for Lady Su to be escorted away. Lady Su promises that she'll get back at them.

CY holds NX's arm and says that she'll tell Father she was the one who slapped Lady Su. XY looks annoyed at the closeness between the girls (haha it's like he's jealous that she's getting close to strangers while pushing him away). NX says that CY is silly - because of the precious metal, the King would not dare do anything to her, and walks away. CY thinks she's right and declares that she'll tell it as it is LOL. She turns back to XY and offers him a formal thank you, not meeting his eyes. They are so awkward it's painful.

Lady Su complains to Ning Wang (her son? anyway he's the rival to XC) about her humiliation. Ning Wang rushes off to take revenge, with orders not to let the King know.

SNN rushes in to tell CY that Ning Wang is after her. She gets into a tiff with NX - partly because NX is annoyingly cool but also partly because she's jealous that CY has a new friend (Haha our girl is just so popular). She cries that she's just extra, everything she does is extra, even her helping to give the divorce agreement is extra and storms out. NX asks CY, "You got a divorce with XY?" When CY responds vaguely, NX feigns disinterest but tells her that she's not stupid. 

CY goes after NN and they make up. CY tells NN she didn't and doesn't want a divorce. NN tells her to get to the bottom of it - "be honest". CY teases, "Be honest... bare it all?" which makes NN think of her encounter with LJ HAHA. I don't think CY knows but it just hit a nerve. NN runs off.

NN sees LJ getting gifts from a maid and gets upset. LJ comes over and tries to explain - she finally realises that her father told LJ what she said. She gets embarrassed and tells LJ to stay away from her.

CY decides to go to Ying Hua Temple (I mistakenly translated this as Palace before) where XM died. Mo Mo thinks it's risky and she should tell XY to go with her. CY refuses, so Mo Mo suggests NX instead since she knows martial arts. NX appears out of nowhere (she does this all the time) and agrees. 

XY gets a report from Mr. Bai stating that DS's background is extremely clean - nothing suspicious at all. XY can't shake off his doubt and instinct and tells Mr Bai to keep surveillance on DS. LJ comes in and tells XY that Ning Wang is after CY.

CY and NX are at Ying Hua Temple - perfectly restored. Ning Wang shouts for CY, who quickly hides. He meets NX, and they each ask who the other is. CY comes out and introduces. NW tells NX to apologise. But since he's a wimp, all he gets are punches. He stupidly claims that no one can fight him in all of Nan Sang (really? is he delusional?) NX says, "You're not it." He stumbles to leave but XY opens the door and knocks him down LOL. 

Before they get anywhere, the King is announced. They scramble to hide. NX gets CY but she's rooted until XY grabs her and they hide behind the door he just opened, so close their noses are touching. NW has nowhere to hide and begs to be under the same altar table with NX. The King lights the incense and prays for Nan Sang with their drought condition and threat of Xi Zhao. NW is about to sneeze and in his attempt to hide it, buries his head in NX's bosom. When he looks up, NX appears all dreamy to him now (He's another ridiculous character LOL) till she grabs his hair and raises her sword at him. It causes the table to shake and the King thinks his prayers have been answered.

The King plans to send one of his sons to distribute food. He is about to sneeze and the Eunuch says it is quite cold in this place. The King remarks that XM's spirit is here, adding to the coldness. He says again that it was unfortunate for him to die - Eunuch says that it is his blessing to die for the King. The King says that XY might not think so. The Eunuch says XY has been keeping to his place since he married CY - but the King says that might not be the case, "Whether it is XY who's keeping to his place, or CY who's not been truthful; after all, she's a pawn who has her own mind." CY's hand, which has been holding on to XY all this time, slips. XY catches it and holds up her palm to write, "I trust you." and interlinks his fingers with hers. XY causes a distraction and the four of them quickly leave the place (each pair separately).

Episode 24 Recap (Part 2):

 

XY leads CY away as they run from the guards (Lol his own men basically). He decides they must jump and hide in the pond. They jump, holding hands. As his guards search, he holds her close underwater. Meanwhile, NW leads NX away, saying that he's familiar with the palace. 

XY and CY swim to the surface and the side. We get that almost-kiss and flirty bit from the preview. NX and NW also come out of hiding. He thinks he should get some gratitude but NX quickly puts him in his place. His uncle, Minister Su approaches and NW lies about what happened with NX pinching him. After she leaves, he just reveals everything though. Minister Su is angered but NW's grand plan is to marry NX, so that he'll be in control over her (Ha! As if.) 

XY and CY are drying off in her palace. TY wonders what happened and Mo Mo says the princess should be leaving the Palace soon. Preview scene where CY (in white) talks to XY (in red)- XY asks when will she be leaving with him? He lists all the trouble she got into, including "the parade of matches". CY says, "But you came too." XY pretends he was only passing by, but CY says XC's right-hand man told her everything. Hehe.

CY soothes him, saying that she only went to Ying Hua Temple to find out the truth behind his brother's death. "So you're still holding on to this unnecessary hope, then?" XY asks. (I'm not sure what he means... maybe hope that his brother's death had nothing to do with the King?) CY responds, "I'm the one who can't let it go. But I'm also the one who decided to leave. Isn't it laughable?"

XY: "Chu Yue, do you want to come back?" 
CY: "Can I still come back? My family name is the King's. Are you willing to accept my identity? Are you really willing to write my name on the Xue family register?"
XY takes hold of both her hands and she smiles.

NX comes in and demands, "What are you both doing?" (ARGH.) CY tries to pull her hands away but XY doesn't let go (yes!). NX looks at XY, "I'm asking, what are you doing here?" XY turns, still holding one of CY's hands. "What I'm doing is none of your concern. You're only a guest here at Jin Que Palace." NX argues back that he's not even a guest - they start a fight.

We get a rather long scene of choreographed fight - it goes from day to night (really?) - CY tried to stop them in the beginning but ends up watching from the pavilion. She even notes some cool moves, and that they seem to fight in rhythm. It ends when no one emerges the winner, as they stand on opposing sides. XY declares that he doesn't need to leave since they're tied - NX says that it's all the royal ladies here. XY says he'll only keep watch outside, that she shouldn't try to do anything. As XY leaves, NX remarks, "You're still as good as before." XY doesn't say anything and goes. CY hears that and asks NX, "Why did you say that? Did you know each other before?" NX only says she's going to bed and leaves. 

TY prepares the dried clothes. She looks at XY's armour and touches it, flashing back to when XM was wearing it. XY approaches and calls her from behind. She calls "General Xue" before snapping out of her reverie. XY asks, "You knew my brother?" - End of Episode.

So our couple will be back together and have a bit sweet time together before another marriage edict for Xue Yao.

Then get together again before the Xue Yao brother's arc revealed.

 

While this drama is still on the earlier episodes, I thought I'm gonna feel for Xue Yao later on because of his brother's arc but the more the episode passed now, the more I'm feeling sad on Chu Yue behalf.

 

She has to endure with Xue Yao marriage edict to Na Xi issue, then when everything kinda settled and it seem they can hold a wedding this time with mutual feeling, she get pushed away by him. 

Although I know his brother position in Xue Yao's heart but it still seem they make that Xue Yao reaction towards Chu Yue after his brother story revealation look like he too blindly jump into conclusion to me. 

 

Thank God it happy ending because after all that Chu Yue being through, she really deserve it.

 

 

My favourite of our main couple scene in episode 24:

The feels when I see Xue Yao intertwining their fingers together 

There are mainly some hands movement and eyes staring but their chemistry is great!

There some comments I read especially in the first and second episodes of this drama that mentioned that Hu Yi Xuan is miscast as Zheng Ye Cheng female lead because she's don't has chemistry with him, not pretty (they even mentioned her maid, Tao Yao is prettier than her).

 

But I'm really glad they cast her. They complement each other.

The chemistry in all their scene give me butterflies!

The way she stare at him as "the man whom I love" here is so

I saw some spoilers on douban regarding Xue Mu's death.

Turns out that Xue Mu died saving Chu Yue -- when Chu Yue was transformed, she accidentally knocked over the candle and caused the whole place to go up in flames, Xue Mu died saving her, and also because she was transformed, she has no memory of the incident. It's not yet explained why she doesn't even recognize Xue Mu at all since he is the head of the guard, but Xue Yao was tearing up and angry when he was talking about it. About how his brother is dead directly because of Chu Yue and yet she has no memory of his brother at all. I guess that makes more sense, although poor Chu Yue.

I was assuming that the bed scene is after everything resolve and they have a moment together for us.

 

All the actresses I like are just everage looking.  I find their acting more interesting than the very gorgeous actresses.  

 

I really like their chemistry.  I hope they have another project together again.

Whats with the maid's memory of XM? Could she be in love with him?  And the diviner sure is suspicious. It will be awesome if somehow XM is still alive, its a very small chance I know..

 

Hu Yi Xuan is really pretty for me, there are a lot of pretty actress but, her charms are something else. Its like when she smiles the whole screen just light up.

 

And, need I say more for ZYC, his acting is always great plus he so natural at martial arts scene. I love love those beautiful expressive eyes, like I love Xu Kai's. He could convey a lot with just a gaze.

I read a comment mentioned that the filming team started filming this drama with episode 21 and 22 first.

No wonder they look more shy in bts for the kiss in ep 22 than in bts for the aggrasive kiss in ep 18. 

 

Still, it funny when Zheng Ye Cheng asked Yang Lin (the one who acts as Chu Yue brother, Xing Chen) if he like it after he and Hu Yi Xuan kiss in bts kiss for ep 18 LOL

I'm at work so I can't translate but I guess it's a good thing that everything will be revealed. Then they can overcome it all and we'll know that it means they'll be together after XY works it all out (instead of back together-split back and forth).

I don't know why he had to go in again after he saved me. I guess it means in a sense, he really did die for the King and the royal family. Although the fire was still caused by CY so *hands in the air* IDK.

 

As for TY, yup in earlier spoilers we already said that she was in love with XM, but it was one-sided because XM was in love with CY. But because CY's life was gained in exchange for XM's life, TY is resolved to protect CY at all costs.

Anyways, I've briefly watched E27 & E28, and I believe it's been mentioned already in the forum but I'll just do a brief summary based on what I've just watched. 

 

CY takes the initiative to reconcile the relationship with XY when she hears from his aide that he went on his knees to beg the Emperor to retract the marriage decree. Not only that, he took out a token from the previous emperor which had been bestowed to his family, it's like something you can use to save your life in the event the Emperor decides to say 'off with your head' or something to that effect. In monopoly, it's the card which says you don't have to go to jail, basically and can get out for free (LOL). Anyways, the Emperor refuses to do so. Initially CY was pushing XY away thinking that there was no hope to reconcile their relationship and took off her leg anklet and returned it to XY. Of course he was devastated.

 

CY appears in disguise (as a maid?) and XY thinks he's drunk, that it can't possibly be her but of course it's her really turning up at his residence and that's where the bed scene is. It's awfully sweet, she suggests that they run away together but he refuses saying that he wants to do it properly and officially. So he says they should do the deed first and seek approval later. I think she thought he meant to consummate their marriage there and then but of course none of that takes place (sob sob). The next morning, there's a scene where they eat out at a stall and take turns to feed each other which is awfully sweet and they prepare for the marriage, properly, wedding garb, decorations and I think the dowry as well. 

 

But as fate would have it, XY stumbles on the maid looking through some documents/items and suspects the maid, TY knows about his brother's death. She spills the beans and as already mentioned, reveals that she transformed into a dragon (? cause it's one of the 12 zodiacs and there was a horn-like thingie on her head, I am guessing) and was doing some dance in the ancestral hall. And the rest is history, it caught fire, he saved her, and according to past episodes I think went back in to save the ancestral tablets, inhaled too much smoke and died.

 

So TY explains that CY in her animal-like state doesn't recall any of this, and doesn't know she is the cause of the brother's death. She also explains that she thought the stolen glances by XM (back story) was towards her but then realised that it was towards CY later. Also, a novel which had one part and was pending a continuation was written by XM about CY. Of course this revelation causes XY to be grief-striken, that the woman he loves is the cause of his brother's death. He gets himself drunk and tells TY to tell CY that the wedding is off, or something to that effect.

 

So, there CY is, all dolled up for her wedding waiting (with Nai Nai) and TY rushes to get her to erh, save XY who is in a drunken-state in some restaurant. She brings him back to his residence, but leaves behind a string of money (I think it's significant to XY) to settle the beverage bill. He awakens and is furious that she left the money behind in the restaurant and rushes off just as she protests that she is his wife and she had to settle the bill for him. [ending of E28]

 

Oh, and by the way, the man with a hood who had been plotting to kill/ abduct CY is the father's disciple, the one who has been making pills for the emperor. Turns out the legend about the man and woman who could not be together, etc, is really the disciple and a girl. But the back story of this has yet to be revealed. But he is making his move via a plot to remove XY I think via the marriage to the foreign princess (?) or something else, so that there is no one left to protect CY.

 

[I am aghast at the turn of events. Cy and XY have been in this constant relationship of being together, then apart, then together, then apart that when it reached the point of them having this wedding, I thought, finally, yay, this 'dance' is finally over. Well, it turns out that it's not. sigh. I think I wanna wait till the last episode to see the ending, rather than put up with thuis heart-rending plot anymore. Also, I can't imagine what CY will feel when she finally finds out that she inadvertently caused the brother's death. Knowing how she puts others first, before herself, I sense guilt and impending noble idiocy here.]
