After so many years,  i haven't visit soompi forums. Here i come just for this drama.

because i have nobody to talk abouut this drama and i feel angry, frustrated and i just feel like wanna hit SJ, Yuri and the VP whenever i saw them.

so i already saw the next week preview, it seems like yuri get promoted to hyuna's position.  Maybe JS and hyuna get promoted too.

And as an office worker,  it really make me boils up.  Just because she is a VP daughter,  she gets promoted this quickly and Mina who is already been like 7 or 8 years never get promote.

And the scene where JS slapped YR.

Wow,  i just literally clapping. This is the cider that we need.

Lastly,  i just want JS to be happy. And for YR,  just get lost from the VIP team.

And last of the last,  sorry for bla3x too much at here. :D

Welcome to the Soompi forum post of VIP, @TaenGanGer Lee. Similarly, I stalled from Soompi forums for about a year (after posting at the Mr. Sunshine forums) until watching VIP because, like you, I had to give my 2 cents about this drama.

Boy, don't we all want to b****-slap SJ, YR and the VP (and Director Bae, while we're at it) like JS did to YR in the Ep. 13 preview! We spent the last 12 episodes (or less, for some viewers) giving SJ (and perhaps YR) a benefit of a doubt, and this is what we (and poor JS) get!?

On a slightly happier note (though addressing the MeToo in Korea is rather a slippery slope, so I'm not opening the champagne yet...-_-), HA (Hyunah) and MN (Mina) got their groove back!:glasses:

And yeah, I want JS (and HA, MN, SW, etc.) to be happy, while YR, the VP, Director Bae, and SJ can just get lost from the Sungwoon Department store.

Looking back at the preview (cant afford to watch whole episode) the last scene in preview JS and YR wear the same coat the day JS receive the message (flashedback scene) . Then its possible YR send the message to destroy JSxSJ marriage so that she can get SJ when they divorce.. If its true, YR totally manipulative person..

it’s true!! It was YuRi!!!

Yes, i thought it sounded like MiNa also

It was MiNa saying she saw YuRi going back into the office and that it must be YuRi who sent the text. Ugh. She’s getting even worse. Hope this manipulation turns SJ off, but not sure since he already knows she did it AND chose her anyways.

It's funny how both Jung Sun & Sung Jun's names sort of look like they're a reverse - could that be an omen that they were ill matched?! Honestly Jung Sun should just quit & get a better job! Maybe move out of the house too.. I understand she was devastated over loss of her child.. I also get that Sung Jun felt neglected & alone but for goodness sakes, he should've been more I don't know.. supportive perhaps??!! Talk damn it! That's the major problem with South Koreans, they probably think everyone's psychic so no communication needed.

Mi Na is a total mess & a fool. Did she forget she's a mom as well!? I am starting to ship Jung Sun with the young guy on her team eheheh. As for Yu Ri I got no words.:expressionless:

That always confused me!!! They’re names are just opposite so I couldn’t remember who the heck was who!!! Really playing on that my other half, opposites attract thing!

@2good2btru I watched episode 11 with subtitles (have not watched episode 12 clips yet) and yes, I still think that SJ and YR did not have an affair. However, I do think this situation nicely crafted by some one is leading to an outcome that would have taken place, had there been an affair.

SJ is an idiot (I call him an idiot not to down play the scum he is and the horrors he is putting his wife through. I call him one because if I express all my feelings on him everything would be Richard Simmons this and Richard Simmons that LOL). All of his behavior (even going to comfort YR) fits his passive personality of allowing things to happen to him. He takes the easy route (which right now would be YR/VP/the company), he avoids confrontation, he never lets his feelings out, he's a wall flower in his own life, he stays invisible and hidden, and much of it has to do with being a child out of wedlock.

I have been raised in Western culture so I don't see the big deal about being some side pieces child. But obviously it's a huge deal in Eastern culture (?). Look at the hospital scene and how the half brother treated him.. He treated him like...trash...something beneath, something. unworthy, unwanted. SJ couldn't even go into the room to see his sick father, and the wife, she looked at him with such disgust. SJ has grown up internalizing all of that and it informs all of his actions. I think he follows the VP and is loyal to him because he in some ways is the father he never had. The man trusts him, looks out for him, confinds in him, and lets him in in a way he doesn't other employees. For a boy who grew up without a father or being wanted and seen as nothing; that kind of affirmation from the VP is golden. SJ is being recognized and seen by an adult male figure. He is wanted and recruited to the man's side and to let go or be pushed out would be like another rejection from his "father" something SJ''s had deal with whole life. I think SJ is now manipulating if you will YR. I don't for one second think SJ is in love with YR. But if he can use her and her feelings for him to stay in the VPs good graces and by his side, so far that's what he's doing.

SJ loves JS (though he gives love a very bad name and I wouldn't want his kind of "love"). The last scene said it all. In that scene SJ is never talking about YR or mentions her. Whole time his words were about JS, their marriage, and referencing their lost child. His behavior to me comes back to his status as an out of wedlock child, that up bringing and how it has damaged his esteem and sense of self. Someone here said SJ feels he doesn't deserve JS and boy is that true. I believe he thinks himself trash, garbage, lowest of low, someone undeserving of her, and his biggest fear; someone JS wouldn't;t be able to accept. I don't blame SJ for that fear of JS's rejection (I'll get back to this). Knowing JS's own scars from her mother leaving her for another man (she still doesn't allow her mom in her life and the woman is dying), would she be able to accept a chid who is out of wedlock? A child who's mother and own birth caused another family the same pain and heartache that she personally knows how it feels. I believe SJ fears the answer would be no, and her rejection of him would truly break him.

From flashbacks to times they were happy, I think SJ truly did love JS. Everything he says when need saying affirms this. I believe he fell for the fact that she was the opposite of him (she's upfront with her words, feelings, personality. She's kind and good hearted, etc). He dreamed of them growing old together. He says she's the best thing that ever happened to him and the luckiest day was when he met her (or something similar). I think his biggest fear is that she would hate and reject who he really is (the whole out of wedlock and other things) and he just wouldn't be able to handle that. For his own protection of his fragile self  (which I don't think is selfish because I believe some of it is unconscious), SJ is allowing all of this to go on (assumptions of an affair) and be believed because he can handle JS rejecting who/what she thinks he is/has done (bad husband who had an affair and is leaving for some younger thing) which is not really rejecting him. Did I make sense? SJ can accept JS leaving this imagined SJ but he can't handle her really knowing him and everything (wedlock son and whatever he's been doing for the VP) he is, and then rejecting him. It's a self fulfilling prophecy (I feel this is true for JS as well. Again I don't think there was an affair. Now much of JS's understandable feelings and actions are pushing SJ where she never wanted him to go/feared he would. To me, she is kind of bring about the "affair" that never happen *shrugs* or I'm wrong LOL)

I believe in SJ's head, all of his is for JS's own good. As for YR and "feelings for her" nah. He doesn't love her. She's the easy route. Why deal with potential further breaking of self by having the woman you love reject and leave you (I think he and JS have similar issues of not being chosen/being left behind/not being good enough. But man life and circumstances and privilege -she was well off, had father who loved her, was seen as the victim so wasn't rejected, shamed, and shunned by society like he was- differs them so much) when you can have the girl who seemingly accepts and loves you and as a bonus comes with wealth, job opportunity, and some form of father's love you always wanted. LOL.

I am not team SJ (there are no teams lol)  nor am I for reconciliation (at the end of the day, all of the above doesn't excuse nor justify how SJ is handling all of this. The loads and loads of pain he is causing JS. Divorce and start anew JS.). It's just that a lot of people are already sharing my sentiments of JS and also of her just needing to pack up and leave this mess. My real life profession tends to have me gravitate towards complex seemingly villainous characters and just try to analyze them and situations. SJ is a grey character (kudos to LSY). It's easy and understandable to hate him, but I enjoy trying to dig into him. Doesn't change the fact he's an richard simmons that JS should have been dropped LOL. Also I feel my not thinking they had an affair really colors how I see scenes and interpret actions and words. If you think they had an affair, a lot of his and YR's actions warrant much hate. But when I look through it as no affair....a lot is going on  behind the scenes and many are using one another and their weakness for the things they think they want (and all of it still warrants hate LOL). Will the ending be a let down. I think no *knocks on wood*. We are seeing the company come more to the forefront. So if things go where I think it's going, it should be good. But I swear if everything was just a stupid affair...LIVID!!!

I have not seen ep 12 as yet but have read the recap.
I am one of those who was holding out that SJ was not messing with “that girl”.

I guess I was hoping that we would find out that, “that girl” had cast an evil spell on him and that there would be some trigger that would make him wake up and realize he was bewitched.

I now stand before you with my hands clasped and my head bowed.

“I’m sorry!”

MrsSoJiSub, I hope you are right. You have very valid points in your post.

At this point, I cannot see SJ and JS getting back together either but I don’t want him and “that girl” to wind up together. Even if together, they would make each other miserable she could still feel a victory over JS.

Separate note (and I got this only from recap that I read):

when the discussion starts about putting Yuri on the family register, did I get the feeling maybe some panic set in with VP and one of his yes men?

It's not too late. Unlike SJ, you've seen the light and come back to the right side...:innocent:

Okay jokes aside, I did want to give SJ a benefit of a doubt about this whole mess, given that he looked so desperate, heartbroken, and lost when JS was grieving over the stillbirth and shutting him out. Perhaps JS initially considered overlooking SJ's "(non-)affair" and starting over because she thought that her emotional shutdown might have partly contributed to SJ seeking consolation elsewhere and not being forthcoming with how he dealt with their loss of their baby since then (again, JS is NOT responsible for SJ's choice in engaging in his "(non-)affair" with YR).

Up until Ep. 12, I was hoping that SJ would realize the severity of the consequences of keeping up with this "(non-)affair" on him and JS both personally and at work, REGARDLESS of SJ's feelings (platonic or otherwise) for YR. This could have been SJ's chance of finally putting his foot down, calling out the VP and YR, and apologizing and making up to JS at work as a way of proving that he truly values JS and their marriage over his pride and work profession that entails him acting like the VP's lapdog.

But alas...:pensive:

Unfortunately, this won't turn him off:crazy:. I hope JS makes their lives a living hell because they deserve it. I can't believe SJ isn't bothering to hide his disgusting affair and disrespecting his wife when the divorce papers are not even signed:triumph:. I was happy when I saw in the preview that she ripped the divorce papers. The nerve of YR to send that text message:rage:.

You know what made me laugh, it's the fact that the chairman decided to put YR on the family registry now. He is gonna regret big time lol:smirk:. Public humiliation is coming and I'm looking forward to it:glasses:.

After reading dramamilk recap and thought for today's episode and some other translator that the VP wife told JS she has not totally lost her husband, I think this is what happen.

Yuri is not the VP's daughter, but his mistress.  He want to keep her close, and make her the sole heir of sung un dept store by admitting she is his daughter. SJ probably was instructed by the VP to make Yuri falls in love with him (but I donno for what reason lol). Most probably to make sure Yuri did not make any noise abt her own relationship with the VP and she will obey whatever SJ (and the VP) told her to do.

But Yuri really falls in love with SJ and a bit too much, she unintentionally include JS in the their plan to take over sung un dept store. And also JS is no ordinary woman, she fights back. So thats why the VP is sending her away. But why SJ so adamantly did not tell JS of all these, is still a mystery lol. Most probably he does not want JS to be involved in the dirty work he has been doing for the sake of power and status.

Makjang full blown eh. I should become a script writer. Wont say anything anymore I just need to let this out lol.

Another typical kdrama and cliche? I hope not but  it's looking that way.  I am extremely worried I became emotionally invested into something that is less than what I thought it was. Did we really give the story too much credit, that there's more to the story besides an affair?  Were many of us doomed from the beginning to be let down? Did they really turn this into the worst cliche affair,  husband leaves wife for a younger woman?

I have not watched episode 12 but I watched the preview,  summary, and preview of episode 13 and based on all of that,  it looks like SJ chooses to be with YR on his volition. He is telling VP he wants to be with her.  His divorce hasn't been filed or finalized and this man is already moving forward with a new relationship.  So much for not wanting to leave his wife a life long scar. He's basically throwing it in her face... I had an affair,  I love her, and I'm leaving you to be with her.  Last two episodes has been eluding to that fact that he is and has  been in love with YR. He tells his BF I never thought I'd be senseless and emotional but I am with her.  How do I interpret that? I'm really in love for the first and i don't know how to handle it, it's made me disregard my responsibility, loyalty and the vows I made to my wife.  I know it's a hard pill to swallow but maybe that's why writers have never really given us any redeemable qualities or actions from husband,  because at the end of the day,  they didn't want to give us a false sense of hope.

As for good old revenge,  personally I feel that living a happy and fruitful life,  free from letting the situation dictate how you live the rest of your life is the best and ultimate revenge.  I want our heroine to be strong but episode 13 preview is making it look like they'll make her look like a bully in front of SJ. She'll be caught hitting and intimidating YR and of course will be saved by SJ everytime, as though we need to be reminded that he chose her over his wife.. umm got the memo! Thanks

I believe it's an understatement when I say that many of us are not very happy with the direction this drama seems to be heading.

@2good2btru the problem with this show is that there is no male 2nd lead, only female 2nd leads including the mistress. So we can't look forward to JS having a family that she desperately wants. It is just a terribly sad situation for our heroine

lost her baby

lost her husband

at any time her homewrecker may become her boss

she may lose her job

I kept hearing Choi Ji Woo's voice when anyone  said Jung Sun.

Some scenes from tonight's eps... I love this ladies' gathering! I think Song Mi Na will eventually have a happy ending with her hubby & three kids!  Yeah, that will be a relief!

And Just watched the next preview so carefully & Jung Sun slaps Yu Ri, Jung Sun tears the divorce papers apart & then Yu Ri say I know I am bad, but please don't hate me!!! OH REALLY????! :D

And both Na Jung Sun & on Yu Ri are soaking wet in rain.. Then park Sung Jun pops up holding an umbrella... And who's he gonna save first?? I bet it's Yu Ri!! :weary: This woman seriously doesn't have any conscience left in her! NO, she never had a conscience to begin with... Such a pitiful witch... :rage:

Aaaaarrrrggghhhhhhh!!!!! I’m so MAD that SJ is completely unredeemable at this point. I was really rooting for him to do a “I tricked everyone to bring down the VP and cut out the rot.” **tears**

after watching the preview for 13, looks like SJ is asking JS for divorce. But our gal ain’t having any of it. She’s going to make sure they suffer humiliation for their affair and can’t be together publicly and righteously. I totally get it. It was a stab in my heart seeing SJ hold YuRi in the standoff between the two women. My god! You’re still married and cheated and you say you don’t want to hurt your wife, but you keep doing it OVER AND OVER!!! It’s anger management time. I have to go clean or do dishes to get some aggression out.

on a funny note, this drama has my poor husband wondering when it will end because every week O ask him a question like “Do you have any super emotional secret you’ve never shared with me?” Or “Did you ever cheat on me while we went through our rough patch?” Lol

After being a long time lurker, it does feel weird typing this out. Pardon my English as it is not my first language and I always have a love-hate relationship with grammar. It never makes any sense to me. Hence, the ever always the lowest mark on the writing component in every English test I took all my life. I just need to let this out of my system for my own sanity. Proceed with caution.

TLDR: I HATE ON YURI/ HA YURI. Change your name/status whatever you like because as long as Jung Sun not forgiving you, I AM NOT.

Watched the live stream. Read the recap on dramamilk. Then watch again the full raw EP12. Definitely watching it again once the subs is out. The amount of suffering I put through myself is just *facepalming*.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the scene when they are having a party at HyunA new rooftop house.  Watching them hanging out after the whole ordeal exposing Director Bae, just make the scene so wholesome. HyunA coming out with the actual issue that made her leave the year before and coming out strong by facing the perpetrator herself. Mi Na resolves her issue with her husband, and the fact that her husband help them to expose Director Bae makes me love him much. Yes, he resented Mi Na for hiding/doing things behind his back, but the fact that he tries to understands her and help her just show how much he cares for his wife. Jung Sun being there also makes me hope that whatever comes down her way, all these woman will definitely backs her up just like what she did HyunA and Mi Na.

As for Jung Sun, I am very glad that she stands up against the VP, showing Sung Jun that she is capable of taking care of herself even when she was threatened by the VP. She is in full vengeance mode and I am just hoping for the best for her. I believe that she can pull through this. Just like how she pull through her depression mode without receiving much support, this time around she will definitely pull through stronger while receiving a massive amount of support from everyone around her especially HyunA, Mi Na, Ji Young and Sang Woo.

For Yuri, there is not even a shred of sympathy of her. Whatever sob story the scriptwriter will throw on my face, I am not having any of it. What she did just shows how manipulative of her. When she said that Jung Sun knows nothing about Sung Jun's pain, does she realize that she knows nothing about Jung Sun's pain. She's trying to put the blame why Sung Jun goes to her on Jung Sun and I am not having any of it. Sung Jun even made it clear that he wants to stop everything, but she keeps clinging to him despite knowing that he is married. She has no regard about others' feelings and the only one important is herself. If the writer wants to give her a redemption arc, there is lot of convincing needed because I really am not having any of it.

All in all, I just want a happy ending for Jang Nara. She is my forever weakness and my Patzzi. Need to re-watch her old dramas again to remind myself that she did have a fair share of light and happy role.

I'm going back to lurker mode. Till then, thank you to everyone here because you definitely made the experience watching this drama live easier for me. Love you all. :wub::wub:

YR and SJ belong with each other.......both are trash......Jung Sun is angry but you know what she has every right to be....marriage is not only about good times but sticking it out through the bad times......SJ never even tried to fix this relationship, he just straight up ran into YR's arm......and now he is passively helping VP to destroy JS's career that she built with her own blood and sweat....YR's problem is that she wants to actively destroy a marriage, destroy the same women's career and also wants to pretend to be the good guy.....richard simmons......its pathetic, own up to it and be the bad guy....I am all for JS moving on and letting go but you know what YR started this chain of nuclear disaster.....I hope JS destroys her and SJ both

I applaud YR (in an evil, nice chess move kind of way LOL) I been suspicious of that girl and if she did send the text *clap clap* She knew what she wanted and she spun a very nice web to get it. From the moment that SJ fixed her door, girl was hooked. For once in her not so happy life full of hardships (seems she's had to take care of her sick mother who was forgetting her) someone was looking out for her. Someone was showing sincerity and care towards her, and she was hooked. She was going to make SJ hers, his feelings and wife be damned.

Again I think there wasn't an affair. Maybe they had a blip of a moment. Maybe for one millisecond SJ's actions or words (conscious or not) gave YR some kind of hope, and she ran with it. At some point YR made her feelings known to SJ and he rejected her. She was a nice girl but at the end of the day, an assignment from his boss. SJ wasn't going to leave JS and their life together for her. She was rejected time and again and so she moved the pieces into play (*clap clap* that she didn't have to do too much). If SJ doesn't have a home to go to, he would off course come to her...right....

YR understands SJ's wall flower personality and that he would leave JS if he felt that was best for her/the only way he could protect her/ love her enough to let her go. She sent the text because once you throw a grenade like secrets, lies, doubts, uncertainty into a marriage that is already on fragile ground...BOOM.....All YR had to do was throw a little doubt onto JS's state of mind, and the dominos fell. Heck in many ways JS is unconsciously helping YR's plan along with her understandable hurt, anger, and actions.

The gag for YR is, I believe SJ is very much using her as well. VP/SJ/the company are wrapped up in something (the writers better give answers as to what SJ paid/brought off that one ep)...I have theories and thoughts but who knows where the writers imagination is going. If this was all truly just and affair DISAPPOINTED wouldn't even begin to describe my feelings LOL.

Brilliant take on all this @MrsSoJiSub! YR, the doe-eyed yet conniving mastermind behind SJ and JS's pending breakdown, with SJ none the wiser (or is he?)...:skull:

Still, whether SJ is engaging in some power play with the VP (by using YR) or he's really having an affair with YR, isn't he just hurting JS more and thus ruining their marriage by not bothering to reveal anything to her when she's asking him!? SJ, now is the time to fess up to JS, or she will surely burn you (along with the the VP and YR) on both personal and professional grounds and leave you with nothing but the misery which you singlehandedly deserve for all the unnecessary pain that JS had to endure at home and at work over a "(non-)affair".

I don’t understand why he would stay with “that girl” after he found out about the message being sent by her at a time when he was trying to make things work with his wife. Backstabbing bimbo!

I don’t want SJ and “that girl” to get married  but if they do I hope in the last 5-10 minutes of ep 16 they flash ahead a few years and SJ is running around on “that girl”!
