Popular Post virsvirs
Looking forward to the possibility of MLSHR Season 2!!! Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo season 2; renewal reasons for the SBS mini-series Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo will probably air its finale on October 31. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo will probably air its finale on October 31.Twitter/Scarlet Heart: Ryeo Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo finale is just a few weeks away and there is an overriding concern among the fans regarding its renewal. While there is no official confirmation on a second instalment of the SBS drama, speculations are rife predicting the potential new season. The period drama, starring Lee Joon-gi, Lee Ji-eun a.k.a IU and Kang Ha-neul in the lead roles, is loosely-based on the historic events of Goryeo Dynasty and the Chinese novel Bu Bu Jing Xin. It revolves around the life of a court lady named Hae Soo and the princes of a ruling family, including Wang So, Wang Wook and Wang Yo. Although the mini-series opened up to several criticisms, it gradually managed to impress the viewers with its appealing storyline. The interesting plot twists and character formation of Scarlet Heart Ryeo exude mass appeal. As a result, the show succeeded in acquiring a high position in several international platform for fiction series. With no reasons for a cancellation and more reasons for a renewal, rumour mills are on overdrive on a potential new instalment in the foreseeable future. Here are a few renewal reasons for Moon Lovers: Viewership Ratings First and the foremost, the element deciding the renewal or cancellation of a mini-series is its viewership ratings. If the show is on a profitable run with impressive ratings, the production house will definitely rake in the profits and support the period drama. Since the SBS drama has managed to gather good viewership ratings, it can be assumed that the network will renew the series for a second instalment. Proper closure of storyline and role of characters The mini-series began by portraying Hae-soo a.k.a Go Ha-jin as a 21st century woman, who gets transported back to Goryeo Dynasty as a 16-year-old girl. As of now, there is no clue on whether the character will end up as a court lady or get back to the modern world. If the period drama fails to give a befitting closure to the character, it will be disappointing for the viewers who have high expectations from the show. International fan base Despite the negative points it gathered after the premiere episode, the South Korean drama has managed to pull in a large number of audiences from across the globe. Within a month of its release, the show crossed one million views on a Chinese streaming site. Considering the popularity of the show, SBS could opt for a second instalment of the Korean mini-series. cr: http://www.ibtimes.co.in/moon-lovers-scarlet-heart-ryeo-season-2-renewal-reasons-sbs-mini-series-699660

luvkstyle
@junee22 Yes I have to agree - these are perfect songs for a Wang So - Hae Soo MV The lyrics are so sad and beautiful and on point. I also love Nell - their songs make me feel very emotional

Popular Post ruizaio
@kyar7jizhenll The official Goryeo records (which, by the way, were compiled like 500 years later) do say that Wang Gyu revolted, but because history is recorded by winners, there are scholars who think it was distorted to justify the Yo-So brothers taking the throne. Similarly, I think the reputation of Gwangjong as a paranoid tyrant in the later years was also influenced by his successors who weren't his descendants. Korean audience generally criticize sageuks that deviate much from history, but that doesn't mean that they aren't made or not liked. Empress Ki blatantly distorted history, so they claimed that it was fictional and not historical, although everybody knew who their counterparts were in history. The Great Queen Seondeok was loosely based on a book that is not accepted by major scholars as genuine. Plus it distorted the age and relationships of some people greatly. The second female lead (ish) in the Ballad of Seodong was more likely to be the actual consort of the male lead in history (both were Baikje royalty), but they chose to make it more dramatic with a princess of Silla as the first female lead. I'm purposely listing examples from non-Joseon era because we have more (accurate) records from then and people are more familiar with the Joseon dynasty. It's only natural that Hae Soo in MLSHR doesn't know much about who becomes king in early Goryeo because most people don't care. Thus, I think it would have been acceptable to assign the role of the 8th prince (or whoever the main rival to the 4th prince would be) from the C-version to Wang Eui. It is better to make a historically obscure person into a villain than somebody who was influential enough to father future kings. (In the case of Joseon sageuks, the descendants of historical figures who appear as villains often cause ruckus for tarnishing the name of their ancestors - even if that ancestor did do despicable things according to hostory. I suppose that could be considered another form of censorship. Some sageuks get around by changing the name of the characters even though people will know who they are supposed to be.)

Some people on DC think Yo would have been enough as So's rival and Wook1 was unnecessary even. Then Wook1 could have been in the position of our current Baek Ah. Oh well. We'll see how it goes. Yup. If they manage to pull this off with an explanation that does not defy all logic, the scriptwriter will definitely earn my utmost respect, because in my mind, I cannot see any way that it can be done. I will be most disappointed if it all gets airily explained away as So loving Soo so much that he would overlook all that Wook and Yeon Hwa did. In the original, in accordance with history, 4th Prince did not shirk from doling out iron-fist repercussions towards 8th Prince and his faction for their hand in framing him, causing 13th Prince's 10 year incarceration, and Ruoxi's suffering - all this in spite of Ruoxi's unceasing attempts to protect them, thus resulting in a widening rift between her and him. While Gwangjong historically forged alliances with Wook and Yeon Hwa, I cannot imagine So being willing to trivialise Moo and Eun's fates in that way, even for Soo, nor the script diverting so much from history just to make the story work.

They could've changed the style of how they're delivering the story too. I haven't read or seen the Chinese version, so I don't know at all the differences from the original. We might have surprises in store for us, things can be shown differently. I just wish that we don't get disappointed in the last episodes. Being too emotionally invested is a very bad thing. Sometimes I wished that I marathon this drama instead of waiting like this. Descendants of the Sun was another drama that I emotionally invested, but luckly the ending was worth it. I pray the same for this!

ddeokbokkii
I don't get it.... Spoiler Why are people here afraid of crying?. Crying is one of human unique trait. I don't think any other animal have this ability. We cry when we in pain, sad, or hurt, and sometimes we even cry when we are happy. This is one of human abilities that makes us different from other animal. Why suppress this unique ability that only we(human) possess?. I don't see anything wrong with crying. It actually feels good after you're crying your eyes out. And this is just a drama, no one actually gets hurt in it. People saying they afraid of crying, but you pick a drama to watch that potentially has ton of sad scenes in it. Make any sense?.
