Seriya
Nice to see SYJ's agency post a bts of her cf. And even include English captions. But they made another spelling error after correcting the first one! Appreciate their efforts but hope they can check their work more carefully before sending it out to the world. SYJ always looks serious and professional during her work and checks the monitor carefully.

I only get CLOY and SITR normally. But with VPN set to Korea there is: CLOY, SITR, Tower, Negotiation, AMTR, Pirates, Be With You, White Night, The Classic, My Wife Got Married, The Truth Beneath, Blood & Ties, Spellbound and Personal Taste. Unfortunately the others don't have English subs, which makes sense why they don't show them to other zones.
ElectricHearts
@SonBenderI am not sure.. it looks like base on their post it is a lot of her projects which I am not surprised. Where I am from we mainly have Crash Landing On You and Something in The Rain on Netflix. Thanks to viki and other streaming sites you can watch most of her projects. There is also Youtube Movies - how I bought/rent to watch The Last Princess. Valentino updated their account to mention some who watched virtually and they put Son Ye Jin's picture first! Yejin has also been getting lots of love from Valentino lately on their accounts/instagram story too. https://www.instagram.com/p/CL7w9vjlSUi/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Also update from Crocodile Ladies! https://www.instagram.com/p/CL7-BwRnttq/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link https://www.instagram.com/p/CL7-NlylbUu/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Just as dark or maybe even darker than What Lies Beneath. Purposely went into it not knowing anything about it. Just seem to recall SYJ saying it was one of the more difficult characters she'd played, so I was intrigued. Now I can understand why she said that. A challenging character in a challenging script that didn't allow her to show a lot. White Night must have been a difficult role for Yejin. I had to watch it twice to figure out all the characters. And I still don't feel like I have a 100% understanding of the details. I heard a Korean say that the English subs sometimes do not capture the subtle nuances of a conversation. It certainly is a dark movie, although I thought Blood and Ties and The Truth Beneath were easier to follow in that genre.

I came across an old interview of SYJ's where I think she said WN was difficult for her because the character was so awful and it wasn't one where she could really act a lot with her facial expressions. If anyone has more interviews from SYJ on WN I would be interested to read. I like reading about SYJ's thoughts on a piece of work after I've watched it. I heard a Korean say that the English subs sometimes do not capture the subtle nuances of a conversation. I'm sure they don't. Even for CLOY. It's hard for some nuance/cultural context not to be lost in translation. E.g. I watched that video where two Korean fans gave their reaction on Binjin's dating reveal and they commented on the wording of SYJ's IG post on that subject. As hard as they tried to explain the significance of her choice of word, it was still hard for me to completely grasp the meaning or the equivalent in my own languages. There's a wordy review of WN which compares it to the Japanese drama original, and apparently there was also a Japanese film version as well, if you want more details on the plot and characters. If they are available with subtitles, I would be interested to check them out sometime. But I'm in the mood for something lighter these days. CLOY is my comfort food when I want something light. What other works of SYJ do you recommend if I want something light and funny? What is her most comedic role? I thought she had great comedic chops as Seri in CLOY so I would love to see her do a full on comedic role sometime.

There’s always Personal Taste, which a lot of fans seem to love, but I personally detest it. It’s plain bad writing, and the homophobic gay storyline obviously didn’t age well from 2010. I can appreciate a Pygmalion/My Fair Lady stories (modern ones like 10 Things I Hate About You, She’s All That, The Devil Wears Prada, etc. come to mind, and obviously they each have their own problems but I think those movies have still held up well). But Personal Taste just had no nuance to it. And Episode 1 is already a huge faceplant for me - I had a hard time believing a woman would NOT know that not only his long-time boyfriend is cheating on her, but was actually already making plans to marry her best friend and roommate!!! So ridiculous! But I still plowed through the end because I like SYJ. I like her enough that I will watch her in bad projects. LOL! There’s also The Art of Seduction, which is so-so. She fares much better in MWGM, although it’s not a straight-up funny, haha role, if that’s what you’re looking for. CLOY is her best comedic performance to date, and that says something considering there are really dark elements to the series.

I agree that Art of Seduction and MWGM probably have the most light-hearted moments. I disliked Personal Taste, although that in itself is personal taste. Ha! Mostly I disliked that Yejin's character started off dumb and then kept getting dumber as the drama progressed. Everyone treats her like garbage--and then she turns around and trusts them??? CLOY is well-written, so the funny parts--of which there are many--are truly funny. But it also has its share of violence, crime and heartache.

ElectricHearts
@puan iryantieoh I have mainly read articles from The Pirates. Most of which are in this thread. -- The website will be launched on March 15 and every week 20 actors will be release online: Dedicated Website KOREAN ACTORS 200 to Launch on March 15 Discover the emblematic faces of Korean films, from global stars to renowned personality actors The KOREAN ACTORS 200 website, which will be accessible from March 15, aims to introduce the 200 actors that best represent the present and future of Korean cinema to people in the film industry all over the world. The selection process considered performers who starred in some of the biggest successes of the last decade, actors who earned accolades from film festivals in Korea or abroad, as well as the biggest contributors to indie film or those who participated in international projects. The actors who make up the final list include stars who are already active on the world stage as well as actors who have built a solid reputation in the Korean film industry but have yet to enjoy wider recognition. Among the actors on the list are YOUN Yuh-jung and HAN Ye-ri, who recently came under the international spotlight with Minari; actors who have established themselves as Asian stars like KIM Soo-hyun, SO Ji-sub, SON Ye-jin, SONG Joong-ki, LIM Yoon-a, and HYUN Bin; actors who are widely known for their acting credentials like KIM Seo-hyung, KWAK Do-won, MOON So-ri, and CHO Jin-woong; and young actors who will shape the future of Korean cinema-like KIM Da-mi, RYU Jun-yeol, E som, and JUNG Hae-in,. The 200 actors will be released every week starting March 15 (Monday) on a special online web page for 20 actors will be released every week. The complete list will be revealed on March 15 through a dedicated website. This website will contain detailed bios for each actor accompanied by portrait photographs and showreels. The photographs were taken by two prominent Korean photographers, KIM Jung-man and AHN Sung-jin. KIM is a Korean photographer with an international career spanning four decades and known for many photography projects, and who won the Young Photographer Award from the Rencontres d’Arles photography festival in France in 1977. AHN is an eminent Korean celebrity photographer who has been working with a large number of stars for the past 30 years after starting in advertisement photography in 1992. A catalogue featuring all these carefully composed pictures is scheduled to be published soon under the title THE ACTOR IS PRESENT and will be distributed to representatives of film companies and organizations around the world.
