What do you guys think of this? I wonder why they refer to it as season 1. Do you guys think there’s a possibility there’s more than 1 season?

Perhaps they are now filming the first part of the book in 8 episodes, and then they are planning the sequel to 2 and 3 parts?

I was also thinking the same from the get go. covering 4 generations in one season is alot unless you jump from one arc to antoher which also can work if excuted well. Maybe they will chose to focus on one generation and give the rest small screen time could also work in that way

I noticed that too!  Do you think it's like Netflix where every show is a "season 1?"  Anyone familiar with Apple TV+ know the answer?

So Youn Yoh Jung is the presumptive favorite to take Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards two weeks from now.  Her winning would bring a lot of hype around Pachinko.

I hope so.

Lee Minho was a "superstar" before we met, and now he is not only a "superstar" but also an older brother, handsome inside and out, which makes you look at him. We are still in touch and have recently gathered. We had fun chatting about mobile phone games.

Hopefully, it's just a technicality in the usage of words, that Dr Brain is to be produced in the Korean language, while Pachinko would be produced in 3 languages (Korean, Eng, Japanese). I've also seen such articles last month in Korean and didn't mind them much, due to risk of mistranslation. This is the first article I've seen in English which explicitly says Pachinko follows Dr. Brain.

Look at same news again but they don't say first air date for Dr. Brain, if they even started to shooting dr. brain , Pachinko already completed. They are just technicality words, if they know date they already said.

One of the first Korean shows that subscribers can watch on Apple TV+ is a Lee Min Ho-starrer drama series called “Pachinko” which will also star Youn Yuh Jung who recently won the Best Supporting Actress at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards for her role in “Minari.”

Another original Korean content is the sci-fi thriller titled “Dr. Brain.” This was created based on the popular webtoon and will star another SAG Award winner Lee Sun Kyun for “Parasite.” These titles are the first Korean-language shows on Apple TV+.

Apple+ is award motivated mostly and both titles seems to be intended for targetting awards. Min Je Lee's Pachinko is highly acclaimed book and then you bring in Parasite director to also throw in his hat into another series which indicts both are geared towards awards. Apple+ has also been winning most awards with their originals. I hope LMH gets a golden Globe award for Hansu
