Watch: Song Seung Heon Transforms Into A Determined Cop Who Teams Up With Lee Ha Na In “Voice 4”
 

“Voice 4” has released a new teaser along with the first look at Song Seung Heon in his new role.

“Voice,” which aired its first season in 2017, is a drama about an emergency call center and the employees who fight crime using the limited information they get from the urgent calls they receive. The upcoming fourth season will pit the Golden Time Team against a vicious murderer with extraordinary hearing abilities that rival their own.

Lee Ha Na will be reprising her role as the voice profiler Kang Kwon Joo in the fourth season, while Song Seung Heon will be joining the cast as Derek Jo, a unit leader at the Los Angeles Police Department who winds up collaborating with the Golden Time Team.

It has also been confirmed that WINNER’s Kang Seung Yoon and Son Eun Seo will be starring in the fourth season as well.

The new stills of “Voice 4” show Song Seung Heon as a police detective who is fiercely dedicated to his work. Derek Jo is a perfectionist with a powerful physique and a strong mental attitude that isn’t shaken no matter what danger he is thrown in. He takes charge of his LAPD unit with his strong leadership skills and refuses to let go once he’s on the track of a criminal.

 

Song Seung Heon said, “I’m excited to be working on ‘Voice,’ which has received so much love in past seasons, and I’m having a lot of fun filming. Please look forward to what kind of collaboration the LAPD officer Derek Jo will have with the Golden Time Team.”

The production staff stated, “Song Seung Heon has brought a lot of passion and love to the role of Derek Jo after joining the new season of ‘Voice.’ From rehearsals to filming, he doesn’t hesitate to throw himself into each scene while keeping track of subtle changes of emotion. His professionalism has no flaws, while his synchronization with the character is 200 percent.”

The second teaser video for “Voice 4” focuses on the “sound” aspect of the drama, with panicked breathing and a whispered, “Please save me” as a mysterious criminal stalks their victim.

Sharing thoughts about drama "Dinner Mate"
 

Two days to come on 25 May 2021 will be the one year anniversary of the drama Dinner Mate.

 

A year ago MBC held a press conference to introduce their new drama "Dinner Mate" which started airing that day. In addition, they also introduced the production director and the four main actors who had give their great acting in the drama.

Unfortunately, at that time there was a pandemic around the world, including in South Korea, so the number of media present was limited. Luckily the event was broadcast live via Youtube,  Facebook, MBC Youtube and Victory Contents Youtube channels so fans and drama lovers could watch it.

Dinner Mate tells the story of meeting two people, a man and a woman by coincidence and finally having dinner together.

 

 

 

The development of the story, of course, is not as simple as the story outline above.

The scriptwriter develops the Dinner Mate story outline to be interesting by creating Kim Hae-kyung’s character, a handsome psychiatrist and food psychotherapist, and the Woo Do-hee’s character, a beautiful production director from a digital content company and how the twists and turns of the two meet coincidentally so that they can end up having dinner together
 

 

 

Then how Hae-kyung, who was disappointed with his first love, and vowed never to enter into a new relationship with a woman, and Do-hee, who never gave up falling in love, despite having experienced two failures in love, because of her life principle that "Every beginning there must be a different ending", can get to know each other, share stories and finally be attracted to each other, without knowing each other's backgrounds.
 

Besides having an interesting and unusual storyline, the production director, of Dinner Mate, Ko Jae-hyun, is very observant. He has succeeded in giving Kim Hae Kyung's role to Song Seung-heon and Woo Doo-hee's role to Seo Ji-hye.

Can't imagine if the roles of Kim Hae-kyung and Woo Do-hee were given to other actors and actresses.

Because seeing Kim Hae-kyung and Woo Do-hee in a drama is like seeing Song Seung-heon and Seo Ji-hye in real life.

 

That was clearly acknowledged by Ko Jae-hyun PD and Song Seung-heon himself at the press conference that Woo Do-hee was Seo Ji-hye.

And also Song Seung-heon's honest confession that Kim Hae-kyung’s character was 90% resembles him (While laughing he couldn't accept it when Ko Jae-hyun PD said 80%).

As has been reported in the news and it has also been said at the press conference that the story "Dinner Mate" is based on the 2013 webtoon "Shall We Have Dinner Tonight?" (or "Would You Like To Have Dinner Together?")

However, according to some people who have seen the story "Shall We Have Dinner Tonight?" webtoon version,

it turns out to be very different in terms of story development when compared to drama version.

 

When referring to the story in the webtoon, for the story development in drama, the scriptwriter seems to have been inspired by the webtoon title "Shall We Have Dinner Tonight?" (The lines to invite someone to have dinner together like the character in the webtoon) and the story in the webtoon itself about the meeting of two people,

a man and a woman, who meet by coincidence and eventually become dinner mate.

 

Meanwhile, to make the development of story ideas more interesting and unusual, the scriptwriter seems to be very inspired by the stories of several Hollywood movies that became box office in the era.

 

The scriptwriter combines her own ideas with the inspiration for some of her favorite Hollywood movies, to become the original story of the romantic comedy "Dinner Mate".
 

Actually, the scriptwriter has given "clues" about the inspiration for the story of Dinner Mate, which can be seen in several scenes of the drama.

 

The clues started from the opening scene of the first episode Dinner Mate (movie Breakfast at Tiffany's) to the last episode scene (movie The Great Gatsby, a novel that Jung Jae-hyuk's character read).

Céline sits alone in the hotel's outdoor restaurant. Jesse joins her and jokes that he is a time traveler. Jesse proclaims his love. After a moment, Céline joins in Jesse's joke, and the two reconcile.

Instead of waiting for Jay Gatsby, Daisy married Tom Buchanan, "America's Wealthiest Bachelor".
Tom Buchanan has an affair with Myrtle Wilson.

Jay Gatsby who still loves Daisy, met her and asked to come back.

In order to get Tom's attention, Myrtle Wilson crashed herself into Tom's car, which was driven by Daisy Buchanan.

In college Jae-hyuk was Do-hee's lover.
He left Do-hee abruptly to continue his studies in US and did not ask her to wait for him.
After having two heartbreaks because of Jung Jae-hyuk and her second boyfriend cheating on her, Do-hee meets Kim Hae-kyung, a psychiatrist, who loves her sincerely.
Upon his return from the US, Jae-hyuk who was still obsessed with Do-hee, met her and asked her to come back.
In order to get Do-hee's attention,Jae-hyuk crashed himself into a car that was driving on the road.

Meanwhile, "Sophie's World" is a novel about the History of Philosophy.
The scriptwriter described Keannu aka Kim Hyun-u as a psychiatrist who was passionate about philosophy.
It's like Keannu told Kim Hae-kyung in episode 14, where he reminded Hae-kyung about the philosophy of

"The Heart of Love".

With a laugh, he said to Hae-kyung "I should've majored in philosophy. That way, I'd have been popular.

There’s no time.” The scene changes, and Derek Jo can be seen on a security camera. Someone is spying on him, and it’s most likely the villain. The teaser gave a glimpse of the mysterious murderer who is wearing a black raincoat. She wears a spine-chilling smile on her face and laughs mercilessly, hinting that she is not your everyday villain.

Derek Jo enters a room and finds a corpse in a black bag that is wrapped in glistening lights. He looks more serious than ever, and there is a glint of annoyance in his eyes. He says, “Whatever monster you are, I’ll catch you.”

 

“Voice 4” premieres on June 18 at 10:50 p.m. KST.

Dinner Mate will always be my all time favorite Romantic Comedy drama.

Got me thru the pandemic sadness.

The gifts from DM international fans are tremendous and the ladies did a tremendous job of coordinating the deliverance of the gifts.  Thank you to all.  Happy one year anniversary.  Miss these two.  My hope is that they will appreciate the personalize art and maybe we can influence them in re-appearing in a future project.  Yeah maybe even a wedding ceremony.

 

Thanks Fiona for the clip.  Watching the hour interview you pick up  ti bids of items, example how often she taps him.  It must be fifty times.  SSH is like looking for her scolding of him.  He needs SJH’s attention and at times her discipline.  Funnest part was when she told him how good looking he was and he says that she did not sound sincere.  I am still trying to see why the MC didn’t push for % of being alike with SJH.  I think she would of ended up at 95%.  Yes they are that close. Interesting comments about ILA.
