The teaser video of Song Seung-heon and Lee Ha-na's golden time shooting operation to prevent the killer of tvN's 'Voice 4' was released, raising expectations.

 

 

The tvN Friday-Saturday drama 'Voice 4: Time of Judgment' (directed by Shin Yong-hwi/played by Ma Jin-won/produced by Studio Dragon, Voice Production/14-episode), which announced the return of the legend with season 4, met with Song Seung-heon (as Derek Jo) on the 28th (Friday). A teaser video foretelling the strong cooperative play of Lee Ha-na (Kang Kwon-joo) has been released.

With the fourth Code Zero incident, the anticipation of the cooperative investigation that will unfold as soon as Song Seung-heon's principledism, who saves lives at the scene of death, and Lee Ha-na's ear, who hears the sound of life, are combined.

Strange:

DM international sends gifts and I have to say it has been really quiet.  The longer with no response the clearer this becomes.  There is so much smoke going on here because this fire is already lit.  Think about it, if you get gifts that are special from your international fans; a market that both truly appreciate (example Japanese fans, and a Paris clothing line comes to mine) I can not believe you would not say something in appreciation.  Because this has not happen, it is truly better for us.  I think this is killing SSH.  My take is there will be a joint thank you and Maybe we will get a bigger surprise a E or M day.

@Jimmy Greene, SSH’s hands was on SJH’s back. The more I watch this, the more I am amazed on how SJH is around SSH even if they were just on the early days of DM shooting. I have never seen her like this with any of her male co-star.

The Long Plot, Sans Spoilers 

Do Hee (Seo Ji Hye), a producer who works for an online video company, is convinced that her boyfriend is going to propose to her. She couldn't be more wrong because he's actually seeing someone else! After getting her heart broken YET AGAIN, Do Hee encounters food psychiatrist Hae Kyung (Song Seung Heon).

 

The two start eating meals together, but there's a catch: they decide not to share personal information such as their names or professions and to become strict "dinner mates." Of course, it's inevitable for at least one of them to develop feelings. Things become even more complicated when their respective first loves re-enter the picture and decide that they want to get back together with them. 

The Short, Honest Plot 

Two strangers who are *jaded* when it comes to relationships decide to become dinner buddies—but they're not allowed to fall in love with each other.

Did You Know? 

1.   Seo Ji Hye's Crash Landing On You co-star Kim Jung Hyun made a cameo in the first episode as Do Hee's cheating ex-boyfriend. His character is pretty mean, actually. He even tells Do Hee: "I started to hate eating with you. You should be willing to eat with someone you love, right? But...with you, it became a duty. I didn't eat because I wanted to, but because I had to."  

2.   Sandara Park also made a cameo as one of Doctor Hae Kyung's patients, a Hallyu star who has a hard time eating because of all the hate comments she received online. 

3.   In the show, Do Hee is a big Audrey Hepburn fan and even dresses up as Audrey's Breakfast At Tiffany's character. CUTIE. 

4.   The show also had a Crash Landing On You-inspired scene, where Do Hee imagined herself as a woman from North Korea! 

 

 

What I Think

 

"This is a coincidence, right?"

 

"No, it's destiny."

Who knew that a series which revolves around two people eating together could be this romantic and kilig? I was one of those CLOY fans who were super excited about Seo Ji Hye's follow up drama, especially because she would be starring opposite OG leading man Song Seung Heon. The initial teasers were already the cutest, and I wanted to watch a rom-com that would make me believe in ~destiny~.

Let me just say that those cliffhangers: *chef's kiss*. The end of every episode, especially the initial ones, always left me wanting more. The two main leads are both so cute and frustrating because they are obviously perfect for each other, but they pretend that they're "just friends." Seung Heon and Ji Hye's chemistry is so adorable and it was really fun guessing which one of them would confess first! 

Whenever Seung Heon asked, "Would you like to have dinner with me?" in the show, I legit swooned. One of my favorite scenes was when Do Hee and Hae Kyung met at a footbridge as if by coincidence, but the truth was, they spent the last hour or so walking all over the neighborhood looking for each other.

 

Another super cute tidbit that I adored was Do Hee's imagination! She was a fan of romance novels, and would constantly recreate scenes in her head—but with herself and Hae Kyung as the lead characters. Her *imagination* also went into overdrive when she listened to a video called Past Life Regression With A Psychiatrist.

I love that this drama is all about "healing." Yes, Doctor Hae Kyung helps his patients through food therapy, but the lead characters themselves learn to forgive and heal from their scars, such as their past heartbreaks and Hae Kyung's broken relationship with his mom. Dinner Mate also talks about mental health, especially Jae Hyuk's. The series once again proves that people who may seem perfectly fine on the outside might also have struggles they've been trying to hide.

I'd Recommend It To: 

-  Crash Landing On You fans—there are sooo many CLOY easter eggs in this show, I promise.

-  Those who still haven't been able to move on from their exes. This drama just might help you take that first step! *winks*

Today I have a blog that feels a whole week overdue and for the first time in awhile it's actually not BL related. Trust me, I know it has been about a month or so since my last K-drama review but don't worry I got you covered with a new drama that just recently came to an end.

They meet unexpectedly on Jeju Island, upon their return to Seoul they meet again by coincidence and decide to become dinner mates without acknowledging each other's name or other personal information.

Cast:

 

For the most part I enjoyed Do Hee as our female lead. She seems to have terrible luck when it comes to finding love even though she has a bright-bubbly personality and is very witty when in PD Woo work mode. I find her to be an extremely refreshing person even if I did get slightly annoyed with her towards the end over some petty reasons. The problems I have with her is I didn't find Doo Hee to be affection enough towards Hae Kyong like at times he deserved better. I seriously don't know if it's a trend in dramas right now but I feel like I keep watching leads who lack at expressing affection and again Do Hee is one of those characters. Don't get me wrong, I know she loves Hae Kyong but damn she sure has a funny way of showing it while playing hard to get half the time and I'm not going to lie she seems to have a soft spot for her ex-boyfriend Jae Hyuk which is never a good sign. I can't complain about Do Hee too much though because she is seriously adorable no matter what.

An easy on the eyes male lead can never disappoint when it comes to winning my heart over and Kim Hae Kyong done did that. He is a down-to-earth man oozing with charisma who might seem cold at first (espeically for someone who has a job as a psychiatrist) but was only hurt in his past from his mother and last lover. At times I felt bad because all we could do was just watch him go through so much crap like dealing with his ex-girlfriend, a stalker Jae Hyuk, an unaffectionate Do Hee and to top it all off losing his mother in a later episode after rebuilding his bond with her like this man could never catch his breath. However, through it all I saw a strong-willed sweetheart with a great sense of humor and a gentleman who treated Do Hee like a damn queen. If he doesn't scream husband material to any of you people, I don't know what kind of man does then. To finish this pharagraph off I'm just going to say that Kim Hae Kyong has no terrible qualities and there is nothing to not like about him.

While making himself out to be the worst second lead, there are not enough words to describe how frustrating Jung Jae Hyuk is and every time I saw him I wanted to spit in his face. I have despised him for as long as I can remember, we went down a very irritating road together but I can at least admit he has great character development and we all should know by now that Lee Ji Hoon never disappoints with his acting skills. Jung Jae Hyuk is introduced to us as Do Hee's ex-boyfriend and first love from college who broke up with her over text message before "study abroad" but dares to come back for a second chance. He already sounds suspicious and crazy, am I right? Well, turns out he is a complete pyschopath who is very possessive over Do Hee and also seems to have terrible anger issues. He is completely indenial over his actions and it doesn't help that Do Hee covered up for him while using his mental illness as an excuse when instead she should have been pushing him to get psychological treatment with no strings attached or cutting all ties off from him for good. I seriously lost all hope in Jae Hyuk but omg I'm surprisingly proud of him because he blossoms into this optimistic old soul who is striving to find himself again and I finally felt at peace with this character.

Well ladies and gentlemen, we have ourselves another terrible second lead. No surprise though since Son Na Eun who I remember from "Cinderella and the Four Knights" portrays Jin No Eul and I find her acting to be not that impressive. So, when it comes to Jin No Eul, she has no redeeming qualities unlike Jae Hyuk and I can't believe I'm saying this because he was ten times worse in many ways. She is introduced to us as Kim Hae Kyong's ex-girlfriend who dumped him for having a boring personality but has the nerve to come back while wanting to give their relationship another try... like RickRoll'D is this? Do these two second leads really think their ex-lovers have been moping around after all these years waiting them to come back? I don't think so! No Eul seemed to be hung up on Hae Kyong until the very end but uses all of her energy on building her own business which is refreshing to see for once. They also sort of hinted at No Eul and Jae Hyuk being a thing and I can actually picture them being a couple so where ever that was leading to, I'm down with it.

I'm not going to lie when I say that this drama definitely looked boring just from seeing the posters and teasers so I went in with low expectations. However, I'm glad I gave it a chance because the whole meaning behind the story is heartwarming. The drama showcases the simple meaning of having a meal with someone even if it's with a complete stranger. We all have busy lives so we can easily forget the small things in life like eating with loved ones and "Dinner Mate" really enhances that important value. Although, at times I found the true and deep meaning overshadowed by all the clichés, romance, and trashy second leads but just scrape off those first few layers and you'll find the gold. The leads surprisingly shocked me with their chemistry and I didn't know how well they would connect since I never seen any of Song Seung Heon's works before but wow they seriously were a match made in heaven. The whole cast is great though especially the supporting (A Yung and Keanu were the truly the best) which is another plus. I admit that I got extremely attached to the drama more than I thought I would so to be honest it's hard to believe how underrated the series actually is.
