I only had what I had uploaded to drive. so I had to wipe out the hard drive and reinstall windows. the computer wouldn't let me repair windows no matter what commands or methods I used. so I was a bit worried that even reinstall won't work because my computer is old. my brother thought for sure that it was only software issue and not hardware and this last option should work. however, even downloading the tool was a snag as the windows site kept messing with us. so my brother downloaded it and then messaged to me. then I had to find a pendrive large enough and download. so yea, lots of adventures it feels like. am glad that I have most of my files because I would be really freaking out otherwise that I have no samples of my old works. after 3 days of stress, it is good to see my old computer.

am happy to share that my computer has come back from the dead.
at least for now, my wallet is safe and I don't have to splurge on a new computer. phew!
@gm4queen ~ thanks for your suggestion; so I ended up downloading windows installation tool on a pendrive and then use that to install windows again on my computer. that finally worked.
still it seemed the problems continued. for some reason, there was no way to adjust the brightness and the monitor was super bright. googled and found that for some users, windows 11 will not show the tool. I spent hours trying to figure out how to resolve that since that is a big problem for me. finally managed to find a free software that adjusts the brightness and voila. sometimes googling these problems is bit of a detective work because you have to figure out what words to use before you find the right solution.
then the next problem was all web pages were loading slowly. googled and found the fix for that. so as of now, am set. next to add all my favourite sites and bookmarks.
@Ameera Ali ~ yes cloud is a saver which I never appreciated till now; I actually didn't understand why my brother even made me link to cloud as I didn't know what it was for and found it all strange. now only I understand what he was doing. so some files I had saved on my computer system rather than cloud. those I lost and so will have to recreate them. but the other files I still have. all a learning curve.
waving hi to all chingus. it is a rainy day after a spate of very hot hot hot days. nice for a change. a soup kind of day.

yesterday I turned on my computer to find out the windows update over the previous night has crashed the operating system. the computer won't even boot and I spent the whole day combing through google and running all sorts of commands to try fix the computer but it is still corrupted. I was totally freaking out that I have lost all my passwords and important files. then my brother reminded me that he had connected me to cloud and so I checked -- it turns out that most of my files are there. some I can't find but I will figure out that later. not sure if I have lost the computer for good but I am so frustrated that a regular update from windows is the reason my computer crashed. what on earth is microsoft doing? UGH.
so chingus, always keep copies of your important stuff in multiple places. you never know what will happen.

@partyon ~ actually it depends on whether the man can wear a moustache well. some lets face it look like boys wearing dress up. for some, moustaches/beards make them look 10+ years older. so it all depends on the guy's jawline.
it just so happens that many turkish actors look good with moustache.

ah, you also have issues with theft. yea, here also, you have to be careful while wearing gold but people still love it anyway. so most women will still wear a small amount, say earrings or a ring or a chain. I find it interesting that when you are young, girls don't like gold but as they get older, you start to appreciate gold more (me included).

@joccu @partyon @sweetroad and others -- have any seen 'nothing lasts forever' -- the documentary about diamond industry on netflix? I was amused. even before I knew about how diamonds were marketed in 40s-50s to become this phenemenon, I never was personally that interested in diamonds. so it was wryly amusing to find out more truths about the industry. we might as well buy zircon and other gemstones instead of spending so much. what a waste!

it seems the writer is going for a more complicated villain -- someone who lost themselves in the process of revenge and became villain themselves. it will be interesting to see if done well. aera will still end up in jail or dead.

... I don't think these are popular dramas and so it won't be in many people's list. I was just randomly in the mood to write and am surprised that I managed to share because I find it difficult to write about music since I don't have training or sufficient knowledge. I can hear some things and know what I like but I find it hard to put into words.

@gm4queen ~ meant to respond but then forgot. computer is working fine but like @Thong Thin said, windows 11 takes a bit of getting used to. I no longer have the office apps as those got deleted and so I use the 365 online app instead. so things like that are bit of a learning ground.
after a heat wave, now we are in rainy weather. am down with cold and aches. why does it take so long to recover these days?
