Update on the criticisms for this daily.

The writer is no longer working with KBS after this drama ends. It's gotten so bad that he's basically been fired. Plus his obsession with Lee Chae-Young is... creepy. But Ae-Ra/Hyun-Jung was the real protagonist/"woman in a veil" all along.

the writer got fired? where did you find that?

I think he would look better and younger without a beard and a mustache. What’s his name? Let’s google

kekeke... this seems to be his signature look though. plus side, he has some abs. he is in his 40s. beats all the baby/baby-faced oppas.

hahahaha... hilariously the girl's mom describes him as ugly. :joy:

what is funny is the girl's father who looks exactly like your gif. there is a ditzy aunt character (of the FL) and she hysterically calls the father-in-law of the FL as "super mario" (like in the game) and wonders how a bald old man has such charisma. I laugh at such random humour in this dizi. :lol:

feeling all squee over a minor couples trajectory in a dizi. yay! fun times after a long drama slump. :D

they are such a throwback to a slower type romance where everything is all about expressions and energy. where something quiet like allowing a hand graze and fingers touching is such a big step because she comes from such a conservative background, a sharp contrast to his modern background.

so cute to see such crossed lovers! :please:

Chingu. I am lost. I don't even know if Serin's dead at this point. Nothing makes sense anymore.

@partyon ~ I don't feel like watching after serin left/dead. GU (the main FL character) in any body is just a doormat and boring. other villains are so so. the story does not make sense if serin died and in the previous drama, the writer resurrected one character multiple times. so I figured that was going to happen here but serin is not popping up and disappointing us. sigh.

yea I read that in a fan post somewhere in youtube when the series were airing. I always thought the chemistry was too natural and so I thought the fan post must be true. the kid also has a younger sister. and there was a vid of the three of them playing in between shooting. they really did look like relatives in the interactions.

I read it was his real life sister's son. so thats why the kid was so comfortable with halil and there is a natural chemistry. it wasn't acting in that sense.

I'm saddened that the lawyer will pair up with an empty head, I think we'll soon find out she's adopted. I want it with Sérin :bawling:

I feel like serin was meant to be lawyer's original pairing but then maybe the actress was unavailable or something, the character of serin was written out. too bad though. their interactions were so entertaining to watch.

@sweetroad @larus @4evrkdrama You guys love all Thai lakorn trailers, so here's the trailer for the drama @joccu and I are watching:

I couldn't get past the starting line in the trailer -- "the bar is secret...." ummm, what???? why would no one know its secret location? in that case, how would it make money? is this a rave party organizers? but they said bar and this means actual physical location. if no one knows where it is, how do they get contractors and suppliers? where do the people come from?? strange!

post#1 -- practical stuff to look at when meeting someone

Remember, an arranged marriage aims to cultivate a life-long partnership based on mutual respect, understanding, and shared goals.

To navigate this intricate process effectively, here are ten practical considerations and conversation prompts to help expedite your decision-making:

    1. Shared Values: Discuss your personal beliefs, ideologies, and life objectives. Determining if you both have common grounds in these areas will create a stronger foundation.

    2. Openness: Encourage transparency by discussing your hopes, fears, and expectations. Authenticity at the onset will prevent unnecessary misunderstandings in the future.

    3. Financial Perspectives: Examine each other's attitudes towards finance. Matters of money are fundamental to a harmonious life together.

    4. Perspectives on Family: Understand their views on familial relationships and the institution of marriage. This conversation can offer valuable insight into their worldviews.

    5. Emotional Intelligence: Assess your potential partner's ability to understand, interpret, and respond to emotions - their own and yours. This is crucial for effective communication in a relationship.

    6. Dealmakers: Identify the characteristics or traits that strongly resonate with you. These could be attributes that make you enthusiastic about the potential of the relationship.

    7. Dealbreakers: Just as important as dealmakers, are dealbreakers. Knowing what you cannot tolerate in a partner is as important as knowing what you admire.

    8. Social Circle: Spend time with their friends and family. Observing their interactions can give you a genuine sense of their personality and values.

    9. Consistency: Monitor their actions and words for consistency. A reliable partner is honest and dependable in both their words and deeds.

    10. Expert Opinions: Engage experienced individuals or professionals who can offer guidance and advice based on their knowledge or personal experiences. This can provide you with diverse perspectives.

@LeftCoastOppa  never been in Starbucks but is the tea good in there?

I am highly suspicious of that since I found out they sell a product in the US called "chai tea latte"  -- I was so puzzled when I first read of the product. chai literally is the hindi word for tea. so it is tea tea latte? masala tea? ginger tea? cardamom tea? cinnamon tea? who knows. I still don't know the answer.

I wonder if they sell that in India. probably get laughs. do you know @kokodus?

we have local brands now that even deliver tea to your house. it works out well for folks who are feeling too lazy to make a cuppa.

@Lmangla  your coffee is so cheap.

yea it is; the smaller joints are really busy. they just have standing room where people are constantly buying coffee and tea. they drink and they leave.

basically the pricier versions are those where you are essentially paying to sit and relax. so fancier settings where you can meet people on a date or business meeting etc. so that is what you are actually paying for. the sofa. not the coffee itself.

Today on our newspaper was an article about coffee prices on cafes, rest stop and restaurants. People were complaining about the high price of one cup of coffee in here.

i’m curious how much one coffee cup or cappuccino cost in your countries?

    168

depends on what type of shop you go to.

you can literally get a small cuppa for 0.11 euros / 0.12 USD at one of these roadside stalls/vendors/small shops. if you go to a eatery joint, maybe 0.55 euros. a fancy coffee shop, maybe around 1 euro and more. a posh hotel/restaurant, maybe around 1.50 euros to 2.70 euros. if you go starbucks, it is 2.70 euros and up.

there is basically coffee and tea available for every budget and preference. but if you want real taste, go for the cheaper guys because it will be more authentic. you only get one flavour though and only option is sugar or no sugar. still taste is premium when it comes to filter coffee or a good cup of tea. you can get some nice butter biscuit to go along with it.

the pricier joints is not only waste of money but seriously blah taste. no satisfaction of drinking a hot cup. there were plenty of times where we left the pricier joints and then found some roadside place to feel refreshed.

May you fully recover soon! I remember experiencing it years ago from a chicken dish bought from outside.

thanks; I also got it from outside food and all I had was flat bread (chappati)! I was trying to figure out what made me sick but my doctor said if I started feeling sick within 1 hour of eating, that was the bad food.

I suspect now that we got old batch when we ordered. no one ate it on the first day. normally nothing happens to bread/chappati/naan/khubs as long you put it in fridge. but I turned out to be victim when I ate it next day. thankfully I was the only one in my family who ate it.

but yea, just having meds and resting. feeling more better but not much appetite or strength to do anything.

I hope I can go back to enjoying food soon!

Yes, which is why I think Serin is alive. I am holding onto that theory (and most of the time my predictions are right.) If she doesn't come back, then this reminds me of Phoenix 2020, which ended up being a complete mess behind the scenes. The writers changed halfway through the drama, the male lead left/was switched, the FL was evil but, again, the writers refused to go that route at all, and it had terrible ratings leading to SBS shutting down dailies after Amor Fati. Ironically SBS had some of the best dailies out of all the networks.

phoenix 2020 was really awful and I remember there was a lot of drama offscreen. that is why I wondered if something happened here. so far, the writing and directing is not scattered. none of the characters are jumping all over the place like it happened in that drama.

so I think serin is still alive and will show up as a last minute twist. it does not make sense that GW will continue to live in serin's body for the rest of her life and use serin as her identity.

the drama's theme is about reset and things getting back to how it should be. so with that theme, it would only be appropriate if serin and GW switched back in the end and that can only happen if serin is still alive.

A lot of people said the same thing. There was no point to it. If SR/GU is truly dead, most of the plot is basically useless.

the promos and poster had all 3 women shown prominently indicating all 3 have equal importance to the plot. if serin was a character that just disappeared so suddenly, why would they promote the drama that way? so yea, either serin comes back alive or something happened behind the scenes for her to be written out.

@Lmangla sweetie -- well let's face it, she has had some SUPER QUESTIONABLE oppas the last few years. :grimace: Who can forget some of the Turkish serial killer mustache oppas that have been plastered on this thread? Bossam oppa - a Korean mustache oppa - not a huge improvement (I think we can agree on that, no? :kiss_wink:). So, the fact that she finds a non-mustache oppa handsome is a rare feat. Should Vengo belong to her?

bwahahahah.... come on! .... not that questionable! :P

true! but that aura and manliness only seems to shine in his modern clothes photo. I didn't even recognize him as the long white haired dude from blossom cdrama -- would agree with @kokodus ; while I didn't watch the blossoms drama, the posters of him did give cardboard aura. ^_^

I voted for 33 percent. I don't want the whole anyway. I am flaky and will forget about this oppa too after a while!
