Open endings can sometimes be good. But it depends on the show and the writers. If the open ending is pretty clear of how things are post series, it can work. But I really don't have much faith in writers to do open endings correctly these days.

Just give me a straight up ending. Happy preferably.

Where'd you get this info? Except for the one translated article I saw, most of the response on the K-interwebz seems to be highly enthusiastic?

Any screenwriter with half common-sense would not be putting in slow burn scenes for 16 episodes unless they intend for a pay-off. Hopefully the writer was trying to figure out how to tie up the gold plot and whether to kill off Han-seok or not more than anything.

Yea, I read the translated one, and the top commenters (the one who received most likes) were the ones who didnt think romance was needed in the drama, but I am also aware that many of Knetz think positively of the lead romance.

I also think it is absurd to include slow burn romances without pay off, but there is always that route of open ending... which just be a bummer to be honest, I need a satisfying one including their romance.

@raziela IKR, many fans root for their romance and happy ending, everything about Vincenzo is trending. Just the amount of FMV about them is insane! Lol. Perhaps, the writer is altering the ending was to give more screen time fo romance? Please...

Oh the fights scenes is incredible! It look clean and efficient! Both SJK, the action team and editor did a really great job!

Cheers for happy ending! FP also had a happy ending, although that one didnt have romances.

Just ride onto this series and it is one amazing "thriller" that makes me want to chew out some of the "numb-skull". And I am only watching up to Ep 11 and sitting at the edge of bench each episode.
Amazing how Jang Joon-woo can act so docile and trying to act "cute" with Cha-young and in reality he has no guilt whatsoever in killing those who "pissed" him off or just get in his way.  It really send shivers up the spine whenever he takes out that Ice Hockey Stick and goes hitting people. He seems to enjoy using the ice hockey sticks instead of guns or knife.  It really "sucks" that he kills his father so easily with not an ounce of guilt.
Worst off is Choi Myung-hee also another one who kills people like it is just a routine chore only difference she does not dirty her own hands in doing that. She only picks up her mobile and make one call and next thing whoever she wants off the streets is immediately cleaned off.  Why I feel she is worst than Jang Joon-woo altho both kills people without an ounce of guilt is Myung-hee works as a prosecutor and she is to serve and protect the people and the law. But she is telling the world..."hey...just get rid of them no need the law"

Sad one is Han Seung-hyeok who is ever willing to crawl under whoever or hides behind one's back.  He playing the "see-saw" who will be of better benefit to him yet at the same time he is willing to close an eye to what Joon-woo and Myung-hee are doing. Why sad is that he has no backbone. He is happily figuring out who can benefit him more not realizing end of the day either Joon-woo, Myung-hee, Han-seo can get rid of him.

I cannot understand why everyone in Geumga Plaza including Nam Joo-sung and Hong Cha-young think they have the right to own the Gold Bars. Joo-sung thinking Vincenzo is betraying him by not telling him about the Gold Bars and he thinks he should have knowledge and in the know because he has been helping Vincenzo all along.  But Joo-sung does not realize it is Vincenzo and Cha-young helping him all along because if Cha-young had decided to 100% shut down Jipuragi Law Firm...Joo-sung would be hanging out there in the streets...why i say in the streets is because I see him as carrying his nose in the air thinking the Law Firm cannot function without him.

I cannot quite figure out Mr Cho Yeong-un. Somehow behind my head I am thinking he will betray Vincenzo and keep all the Gold Bar to himself. Hmmm...did they agree to split 50/50 since the real owner of the Gold Bar is gone...

Kudos to Mr An Gi-seok. Initially I did not like him and tell myself to just watch and as time goes by...he is "adorable" in his own ways and I enjoy seeing how he observe Vincenzo to the point of protecting Vincenzo. He brings smile and laughter in every scene he appears in. Now I am waiting to see him pop up in every scene. Kudos indeed to him.
Back to Ep 12. I am slowly enjoying this series because I want to be able to continue watching episode after episode without having to wait a week after next.
Thanks all for reading.

Vincenzo,  Song Jong Ki Three Charms

spacer.png

Actor Song Joong Ki is driving the popularity of the drama with his magical charm that causes excessive immersion of viewers from eyes to voice and motion.
spacer.png
Actor Song Joong Ki, who is drawing attention for his cathartic acting skills and dazzling visuals in tvN's Saturday-Sunday drama "Vincenzo" (directed by Kim Hee-won, written by Park Jae-beom), is making viewers dizzy with three extra charms that maximize character completeness.
spacer.png
Vincenzo is a figure who is weak to the weak and strong to the strong, and even has the aspect of a villain who fights evil with greater evil. When he hangs out with the people of Geumga Plaza, he gives laughter in a cute and sloppy way, and when he punishes evil, he proves to be a mafia with cold treatment without mercy. We pointed out the extra charm of Song Joong Ki, who captivated the small screen by perfectly digesting various aspects of Vincenzo's emotions.

Meanwhile, the 17th episode of tvN's Saturday-Sunday drama "Vincenzo," which is drawing keen attention to how Vincenzo, who blackened after his mother's death, will air at 9 p.m. on the 24th (Saturday).

Welcome to the thread @jojoanna:waves: Glad you are enjoying the drama. Lucky you binge watching so you don't have to wait every week:lol:  To be fair to Cha Young and Mr Nam they weren't expecting to have a share in the gold bars.  Vincenzo told them he was going to share with them (not tenants!) and they were gratefully surprised.

Thank you for the article @mystic62  It's true SJK's acting and showing the way he shows the different sides of Vincenzo is captivating:cutekitty:

JYB did an interview promoting her new film but she also talked about Cha Young's character and it very much chimes with mine and other people's thoughts in the thread that underneath her confident exterior CY is actually a very lonely and sad character before partnering with Vincenzo

New Geumga Plaza tenants video.  They are so entertaining in these videos.  i wonder if it's all ad libbed or if they had a script.  I say it every time but I wish the drama had used the tenants better because they are great in these video specials^_^

From Mr Nam's part about his blind date.  Poor Mr Nam:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Q. How's your blind date going on?

mr nam: the blind date lasted until the second date, that day I escorted her to tteokbokki shop to eat some yummy tteokbokki but she had to go home urgently and I told her to contact me back.. but I guess she hasnt come home yet bcs I din receive any call... it's already the 2nd week, why dont you go home? you should go home soon~

@raziela Yeah, I was impressed by the depth and thoughtfulness of JYB's answer. Usually, you get really surface-level character analyses from k-actresses, so her nuanced take was refreshing to see.

I'm calling it that she's headed for a career path similar to Jeon Do Yeon's.

'Vincenzo' Song Joong-ki, villain referee begins... Will Ok Taekyeon's barbell break?

Vincenzo (Song Joong-ki) judges Villain.

On the 23rd, the cable channel tvN Saturday and Sunday drama'Vinsenzo' (played by Park Jae-beom, directed by Kim Hee-won) captured the appearance of Dark Hero and Villain who entered the final confrontation. The new edition of Vincenzo and Jeon Yeo-bin (Hong Cha-young) to destroy Jang Joon-woo (Ok Taek-yeon)'s'Tower of Babel' stimulates curiosity.

Vincenzo and Hong Cha-young, who opened the'Guillotine File' containing various corruptions of the Korean government and the prosecution, launched an onslaught against the villains. Joon-woo Jang and Myung-hee Choi (Kim Yeo-jin), who were in crisis, caught Vincenzo's weakness and launched a counterattack. Eventually, Vincenzo's mother, Oh Gyeong-ja (Bok-in Yoon), died in their tactics, and Vincen-jo collapsed before his mother's death.

The blackened Vincenzo went to the criminal and punished him with bloody retribution. Then he appeared in front of the villains who were in charge of the murder and pointed at the guns. Vincenzo's cold and empty eyes exploded a sense of tension.

Vincenzo's life in the published photo catches his gaze at once. I wonder if Vincenzo, who has changed into a shape I have never seen before, can certainly punish the villains.

In the following photos, Vincenzo and Hong Cha-young are engaged in a new operation. Cha-young Hong staring at something with a tense face signals the start of the final round, which will be more hot. Joon-woo Jang and Han-seo Jang (Kwak Dong-yeon), who are embarrassed in a mess, are also tense. What will be the next operation of Dark Heroes that will overthrow the villains' game, attention is paid to the fight of those who are at their peak.

In the previously released trailer, Vincenzo predicted a terrifying chess game with Jang Jun-woo. As soon as Vincenzo's warning of "I will destroy your words one by one" fell, his thug with a bomb appeared, and the appearance of people in confusion was captured, amplifying curiosity.

Vincenzo announces a checkmate who will keep Joonwoo Jang from moving. But villain Jang Joon-woo prepares for another counterattack with Choi Myung-hee, saying, "Let's kill us in the same pain." I wonder how the final round, which started in the midst of a rushing sense of crisis, will proceed.

The production crew of 'Vinsenzo' said, "In this week's broadcast, other characters related to the Guillotine file appear. Please watch what variables will arise in the war between Dark Heroes and Villains trying to kill each other."

The 17th episode of 'Vincenzo' will be broadcast at 9 pm on the 24th.

According to Naver, apparently script for final episode was delayed bc the PD and writer were struggling over the ending, which is why broadcast was delayed by a week.

Gag order has been issued to prevent the ending from being leaked.

I'm really going to stick to non-kdramas for some time after this, given how apparently kdrama writers don't have the ending set when they set out. This is some bullsh!!!!!t.

This is why i dont want Vincenzo to have another season no matter how eager i am seeing more of VCY. Seasonal series only work if the writers have already planned it to be seasonal even before the show starts. They already have brief idea of what to highlight and develop each season and how it will lead to the ending at the final season. Seasonal dramas just based on viewers' responds is a big no for me. No matter how genius and creative you are, there's limit to inspiration. In one moment you get to develop amazing plot but then the next moment you dont know how to evolve it more than you already have and to end it as epically as it start.  This can become worse when you keep getting people's feedback which cause you to lose focus on what you initially want to do with the story.

Thus i want Vincenzo to end with proper happy ending at episode 20. No more continuation. This is the result of years of disappointment in seasonal series (i'm looking at you western seasonal series).

Anyways another great theory from folk at twitter. This one is quite interesting since it discuss the possibility of how V can get his permanent citizenship in Korea.

Pre release is out. Isn't it cute how easily V is distracted by the word Hong Cha Young. At the last scene i thought there will be accidental kiss between the two and i was about to rage at the writer at how easily he develops progress between V and his fanboys compared to how he develop VCY.

^^ I would only want a second season if this one does not have a happy one. If we get a happy ending this time around, I'm all for just leaving it as is.

That said, my take: Vincenzo at its core has been about V & CY being alone/wanting people around them who actually care and are family, right? That in mind, any ending but a happy ending with them both finally having a family and not being alone anymore would make no sense. So happy ending obv.

Goddamn @ that first ep17 still. SJK and JYB really match visually. I did not expect them to sync so well. They look better together than him and any of his previous female leads.

I have never shipped any actors, but I'm pushing the Titanic for these two.

'Vincenzo' Song Joong-ki x Kwak Dong-yeon captured in the ice hockey market... Full-scale cooperation [Today TV]

[News Reporter Lee Min-ji]

Dark heroes' intense team play unfolds.

On April 24, the TVN Saturday drama'Vinsenzo' (played by Jae-beom Park/Director Hee-won Kim) captured the appearance of dark heroes who sorted out to get the villains out of the way. From the Geumga family, heavily armed with charisma to chew and swallow the mafia, to Vincenzo (played by Song Joong-ki) and Jang Han-seo (played by Kwak Dong-yeon), who exchange hot eyes, the extraordinary cooperation of these people is expected.

In the last broadcast, the villains' fierce counterattack to remove Vincenzo began. As Vincenzo didn't collapse easily, Jang Joon-woo (played by Ok Taek-yeon) and Choi Myung-hee (played by Kim Yeo-jin) set out to find his weakness. Eventually, Vincenzo's birth mother Oh Gyeong-ja (Yun Bok-in) was murdered by the two's scheme, and Vincenzo faced the death of his mother and turned black. Vincenzo punishes the person who hurt his mother, and goes out to find the villains who insist on killing him. His cold eyes, aiming his muzzle, raised his heart rate.

'Vinsenzo', who left only 4 episodes until the end, passed a big inflection point. There is a keen interest in how Vincenzo, who has changed coldly, will punish the villains and his actions. Meanwhile, Vincenzo's unveiled appearance heralds an unpredictable battle of revenge. First, the exchange of hot eyes between Vincenzo and Jang Hanseo on the ice hockey rink arouses interest. Jang Han-seo emerged as a variable in the war with Villan. Attention is drawn to the storm caused by the secret meeting between the two. In the following photos, the Geumga family of the extraordinary Force was also captured. The aura of those who wear an all-black suit and advance somewhere adds to the expectation. Attention is focused on the fierce performances of the people who are going to cry the mafia as to how the Geumga family will break the villains with Vincenzo, Chayoung Hong (Jeon Yeobin), who have raised their stats to the maximum.

In episode 17, broadcast on the 24th, Mafia Vincenzo's attack without mercy unfolds. Tenants of Geumga Plaza, who have been reborn as real'family's, are expected to add strength to Vincenzo and Chayoung Hong's operations. I wonder what kind of performance the'Geumga Family', which has learned how to fight violently, will show. Joonwoo Jang and Myunghee Choi also raise the gauge of evil to Vincenzo's changed attitude as they tighten their necks. Here, attention is also paid to the unpredictable movement of Vincenzo and Jang Han-seo on a boat. Broadcast at 9 pm on the 24th. (Photo = provided by tvN)

Thanks for all the updates @mystic62  That is such a touching post from Lee Woo Jin.  He said that his first time in over 40 years of acting?   I'm glad they showed their appreciation for all the actors with such a pretty bouquet:blush:

CenCha and the GP residents look so cool in the clips for next episode. Always and forever a power couple :glasses:

Thanks for the clip.  i know SJK has a skating background so it's nice he gets to show off his skills on ice.  I am convinced the writer and director are actually secret SJK fanboy/girl LMAO!  I also was not expecting this Vincenzo  and HS bromance but I like it a lot!  I think Vincenzo probably sees that Han Seo can be redeemed with the right guidance.  He isn't rotten like his brother. Meanwhile, Han Seo is so excited around him.  I guess because to HS he is a bit like the big brother he never had.

Vincenzo is so whipped for Cha Young :elated:

I agree.  I would LOVE to see more but considering the writer seemed to rewrite a fair bit as the story was ongoing and struggled with the ending of this season I'm not sure if another season would be the wisest decision. For now I'm just fervently hoping for a satisfying and happy ending with closure for all characters.

That Twitter account is impressive, she has put a lot of thought into this theory.

I thought this tweet was interesting as they have worked out Vincenzo has only been in South Korea for about two months. I thought it had been there a lot longer-at least 3 or 4 months?-for some reason:relaxed:

IKR! Imagine them doing a pictorial, I think my eyes would be blessed, why didnt Vincenzo have a pictorial yet?

Guuuuys... its finally Vincenzo's day! I'm excited and nervous, its gonna be a sad one, coz VC will finally read his mom letter and hold a funeral for her, but CY will be right next to him...
