Don’t get me wrong. I’m neither criticizing Jeon Yeo Bin’s acting nor her character Cha Young’s behavior. I love how she brings the fun into the drama and I love how the humor balances with the seriousness. It’s a drama that comforts me on Sunday.

My only criticism is the scriptwriting for how one noted Cha Young’s character has been. She’s seen as a subordinate for Vincenzo instead of a stand alone, independent character. For the past few years, some kdramas have shifted. The spotlight is no longer heavily on the male and the male gaze.
I just want more screen time for Cha Young herself and also something more out of her character.

Tonight’s episode was so much fun! I laughed throughout the entire thing. Vincenzo once again putting his seductiveness to great use. :joy: What can we say? This man’s a natural. He doesn’t even have to try to get me wrapped around his finger lol. All concocted by Ms Hong Cha Young too. This duo is the dream team. Cant forget Mr Nam of course. Another epic episode!

Though they didn’t win this time, the execution was still superb and they still gained a lot from it. I wonder if the truth of Vincenzo’s mom’s case will see light and clear her name before she passes. :tears: That’s some valuable evidence that the son gave to “Tae Ho”.

Looks like HCY is also catching feelings.  The sexual tension between the two is through the roof. Love the last scene when Vincenzo escorted HCY away from the reporters and they turned to smile at each other. The sexiest OTP!

Can’t wait for next week!! Please come sooner.

I see where you’re coming from but I think HCY really shined these past episodes especially tonight’s episode as she herself strategized the entire plan and even walked Vincenzo through it. Up until now has been more of a set up for what’s to come. After all, the story is based on how to defeat evil with evil. So given Vincenzo’s skilled background in dealing with the mafia, naturally he’d be the one leading these schemes to build up the story. HCY is gradually learning while mixing in her own spice. I think we will definitely see her pull a full successful execution soon and many more to follow.

I enjoyed this episode the most because of the teamwork and the scenes where lovesick President of the bank with the reluctant and awkward Vincenzo. He was just going along with things, being uncomfortable ... until the President mentioned Vincenzo's mother/his father's evil deeds. Then it was like a switch from "this is so weird" to "i must do it, whatever it takes" and you could see it from SJK's gaze.

I especially laughed at the use of flashing phone messages:

Ahhh it was nice to have a funny teamwork episode, from the Plaza people, to our duo, before next weeks dark-gritty ones.

yeah I can see it in today’s episode. I am glad I stuck around because HCY was shining in the end! I love her death stare towards the female prosecutor.

Another crazy episode. We can see VC slowly warming and bonding with the plaza people.

The best plot for tonite. Here goes :

"VC had to sacrifice himself for greater good. VC as the Prince charming on a white horse to get the attention...lol. (Suddenly, I'm watching BL drama... Ha ha ha). A man of many talent. Then, VC also said the line "Only... You!" muah... But, when the fish took the bait, VC gave in. I'm laughing all the way when Tae Ho eerrr.. VC feels like violated. Holding hands... Sneak kiss... Back hug.. OMG! What a romantic date. And... The background music, suited the romantic mood. VC also flashing "Tae Ho believe in you "... And Elle Wood appeared to save the signing event."

From BL drama to horror to legal.

Way to go VC!

I wonder why VC havent find out the true evil of Babel?

And... Why bad guys havent attack/assault VC yet? Hope there's No truck of doom appearance again.

I type whatever cross my mind tonite. Dont mind me if u unable to understand. Nite!

Hello Everyone!

First time posting here.

I am loving this drama.
From the story and the actors.

Jeon Yeo Been is doing a great job as Cha Young. I don’t get it why people are so critical of her. Maybe because she is acting alongside SJK that people have very high expectations of her.  She and SJK have amazing chemistry.
I am expecting her career to skyrocket like Shin Hye Sun’s after MQ.

Does anyone know if she has thread in soompi?

Hi and welcome to the thread! :)

 I love their calm talks.

Me too! I love when they go kick butt but I truly appreciate their small talks. These scenes are more intimate and they give us a glimpse into their thoughts as individuals. It shows the great friendship and bond they share and the feelings they’re developing for one another. Cha Young appeared sad when she asked Vincenzo whether he thinks he deserves love. Please show him that he certainly does!

Maybe it’s too soon since this drama isn’t even finished filming/airing but I’m manifesting in SJK and JYB reuniting again for a melodrama. Their chemistry is sooo good that it needs to be carried out in a full fledged romance drama. Because I just don’t see us having enough of it with these 20 episodes alone lol. And I choose melodrama because SJK in The Innocent Man has such a special place in my heart. He’s excellent in every role but Maru was exceptional for me. And I hear JYB is also amazing in melo genre. I can totally see it when she plays the more serious scenes so pleaseeee. These two with their talents, chemistry, visuals, and sexual tension would make a fire melodrama.

I was simping along with Chayoung and Minsung watching Vincenzo riding that horse, SJK is so gorgeous. I have to say Kim Sang Cheol is also really handsome, he looks better and better in each drama I watch him in. I love that Chayoung is also catching feelings for VC, last week we got Vincenzo catching feelings for her. I think VC has realized that Joonwoo is the real chairman because of the looks he gives when he tells the other people what to do. I love this show and next weekend can’t come soon enough

Watching episode 8 is like watching another kind of drama... :joy:

Even the soundtrack when Hwang Min Seung’s mom entered sounds like something would be played in a makjang drama... :joy:

Can they make this into a spin-off? “The forbidden love of the young president and the handsome lawyer” written by Hong Cha Young :joy:

And the international crime agent is still around, he is gradually becoming Vincenzo’s fan or something lol.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I must admit I was on board on this drama because I am a fan of SJK since Nice Guy. Had a fall out as a fan during DOTS. Lol. Vicenzo renewed my love for him. SJH did not disappoint as usual. He’s really a great actor.

However, JYB won me over here.

She is a force to be reckon with and is outstanding as Cha Young

Her chemistry with SJK is palpable so much so that I am shipping them in real life.

I know we are only on episode 8 but I already have a lot of questions that I hope to get an answer on the next episodes.

- What happened to VC’s biological dad?

- Are VC’s adoptive parents still alive?

- What happened to Cha Young’s Mom?

- How did VC acquire Geumga Plaza?

- Where did he get the gold bars?

- What is Choi Myung Hee’s background. Why did she become a ruthless lawyer?

And I really hope the writer at least give us a kissing scene. With 20 episodes, it would be very disappointing if there will be none.

Hello,

Some of your questions have already been answered so I’ll gladly elaborate on those. :)

- Vincenzo’s adoptive father has passed. His father’s funeral was held at the beginning of the drama in Italy. No mention of his adoptive mother.
- Don’t know the cause but Cha Young’s mother passed and based on her argument with her father, he was not present when she died. Hence why there’s a wedge in their relationship up until his death.
- Vincenzo acquired Geumga Plaza through Mr Cho who’s name was used to purchase the building in order to not raise suspicion on the actual owner. (More explanations of this below)
- The gold bars belonged to this rich Chinese man (forgot his name) who had a lot of gold and wanted to hide it in Korea. He sought out Vincenzo who was recommended by his friend Fabio (probably Vincenzo’s adoptive brother) to help him come up with a safe place and method to hide his gold. Vincenzo of course offers a method commonly used by his mafia family which is hiding it under an old building that exclusively uses the owner’s face recognition to enter and no other way. If anyone tried to break the walls, the entire building will collapse. Vincenzo also advised him to get rid of all the construction workers that were part of this project. This leaves only Vincenzo, Mr Cho, and the owner himself to know of the gold’s existence. The Chinese man have since passed so Vincenzo seeks Mr Cho to retrieve this gold together and split it.

hope that answers some of it for you! :)

They never established the past relationship between Cha Young and Choi Myung Hee? I get the impression there was something between her and Cha Young and her dad as even when Cha Young was at Wusang, with Choi Myung Hee, things were tense
