Each episode just gets better and better! I keep falling in love with their unspoken gaze at each other and their shy yet real longing simmering beneath the facade of their beautiful interactions. 

 

PBG as KJH rocks totally! He's cool, mature, charismatic, boyish, handsome, bold, tactful and everything yearned from an old-fashion love story. He prompts and guides, taking charge of CSH's vulnerable condition and steering her towards a safe haven, making her see that there's something meaningful going on with both of them.

CSH is already a meaningful person in KJH's heart, in his own words to Secretary Jang, even for a brief moment at that point where he was warned to stay off. KJH is asking for a chance to become someone meaningful in her life and she has mustered up the courage to say "yes". I totally fell for KJH's serious look when he asked to start a pre-permanent bgr relationship with CSH.  HIs expression is sooo mesmerizing! The internal struggle when CSH bent her head before saying yes to him..."I am usually good at holding back but here I am"....it tugs at your heartstring. These 2 actors really have the ability to draw one into their predicament and experience the emotions that both are going through. That is so awesome!

 

When CSH tears, I can't help but felt the tears in my eyes. SHK has a knack of doing such a great job with emotional scenes that I can't think of anyone more beautiful even when crying. She is so good with her expressions that you feel the pain in her. She rocks! PBG with his boyish smile and sunshine....when he gets serious, one can't help respecting him for his determination and confidence in his stance. 

 I can't decide if I fell in love more with his serious, handsome face or his boyish smile....lol.

 

The preview for the next ep.....when CSH's mother-in-law asked KJH if CSH spent time with him due to loneliness....take a look at KJH's 'fierce' eye contact with the MIL...it's the look of someone who won't take nonsense from anyone. KJH definitely has fire in him and it's this fire that ignites the passion in CSH who has remained passive for too long. 

Fire + Passion = Superb emotions = exciting love story

 

Ratings are subject to many factors. What's important is the splendid effort put in by "Boyfriend" cast and crew and especially PBG and SHK, in bringing this fairy tale romance to us and all their beautiful connections are something meaningful to us as well, in making us believe that what seems impossible can be possible after all. Love is the deciding factor.

 

Kudos to PBG and SHK for making us fall so deeply in love with their chemistry and their awesome acting! The PD has to do his part too - make sure he gives us a good, romantic finish because our beautiful couple deserves the best.  

 

Btw, I really love All the OSTs, especially at 9:16 the English lyrics "I know, I belong to you"...

I hope to see a more powerful KJH taking care of CSH and freeing her from her cage. I'm thrilled when I see a strong man protecting and fighting for his woman, seriously like a knight in shining armor rescuing his damsel in distress.

from now on, I’m gonna stop worrying about those damned rating and just enjoy the show. Because srsly, I’m looking like a stage mom ready to pounce on anyone who’ll say that this drama is boring or stale or has no story!

On the latest episode of the tvN drama "Encounter", Kim Jin-hyeok (Park Bo-gum) suggested to Cha Soo-hyeon (Song Hye-kyo) that they meet again for a fling.

After what happened at the lobby, Kim Jin-hyeok's life at work was tough. He was rumored to be Cha Soo-hyeon's man and people whispered behind his back. However, he asked her out. They went to an exhibit and had dinner at Lee Dae-chan's (Kim Joo-hun).

Cha Soo-hyeon told Jang Mi-jin (Kwak Sun-young) about Kim Jin-hyeok. She said she was really curious about him but Jang Mi-jin asked if she was going to continue seeing him. Cha Soo-hyeon answered, "I can't. I can stop myself".

However, she went back to the spot where she went on a date with Kim Jin-hyeok and he was there, too. He asked how they should say they met again and Cha Soo-hyeon said, "I said I can help myself, but here I AM."

Kim Jin-hyeok said, "I heard having a fling means somewhere between the lines of conviction and suspicion". He held her by the arms and said, "Let's say we met again as a fling". Cha Soo-hyeon smiled and said, "Yes, let's do that".

I just realized that my comments here are mostly about Park Bo Gum is good being Kim Jun Hyuk. I never compliment about SHK. Oh my! It’s because i always trust her that she can play every character very well. I always watch her dramas but not bo gum..

 

this CSH character, as always SHK can portray it very good. I can feel her pain, loneliness.. but maybe because i’m getting older. I cried actually watching her being in pain. How could a mother treat her like that.. just because of the power/status, she’s willing to sacrifice her daughter.

 

stay strong CSH shi.. i wish ur pre-relationship with KJH ended with a happy marriage.. or at least happy ending

I can't say anything, I just love this drama (period). I can't wait for tonight episode since tonight episode will be the first time KJH meeting ex-MIL. It will be super interesting since KJH show savage expression during that meeting, hope he can stand against the ex-MIL.

When JH & SH were taking a stroll at Han River to seek for Arts, I loved his dialogue.

 

JH: Yes, there are paintings.
And there's you who likes paintings.
And there's me who likes you who likes paintings.

P.S: that scene of SH crying because she couldn't hold it together, I wanted to hug her and tell her to let it all out. It's OK to cry.

SHK did a very good job in conveying the heaviness her character has in her heart. *applause*

Last night's episode was really good. Couldn't stop smiling at the sweet moments of our OTP and I think we will be getting more of it today because they're finally in some/pre-relationship stage. Haha!

The epilogue though, I feel bad for CSH. She missed so much in her life because of the controlling people around her and now she feels like it's too late for her to be experiencing such thing like love.

 

Anyways based on the preview, I'm guessing we will be getting another glimpse of the evil moms and they will most likely join forces next week. Pretty sure the evil MIL will do something about KJH's family or maybe their business to drive him away from CSH. 

Ugh can someone remove the evil moms from the drama so we can all just be happy with the sweet moments.

Hopefully the ratings will increase again!

As for the ratings, if they really went down because of MAMA, I guess we'll see if they'll go up again by tonight's episode

 

I'm really excited to see how Jinhyuk will face the evil mother-in-law. He looks really angry and we haven't seen angry Jinhyuk yet aside from when he was balling up his fists when Soohyun was being harassed in the hotel lobby

Wednesday’s episode of “Encounter” featured a crying scene of Cha Soo-Hyun, played by Song Hye-kyo.

Five episodes in, viewers saw Cha burst into tears as she broke out of her usually more reserved character and decided to be more honest with her feelings.

The show has so far showed Cha slowly open up to Kim Jin-Hyeok, played by Park Bo-Gum, who is more laid back and free-spirited.

During the fifth episode, Kim told Cha about his feelings toward her, as he wants to “mean something” to her. 

Cha wanted to push Kim away but Kim continued to linger in Cha’s mind, confirming that the feelings toward each other are somewhat mutual and hinting at a possible relationship in the near future.

The two cross paths again later in the episode, and Kim again asks Cha out -- though more casually this time -- to which Cha agrees to a date without making their relationship official.

The sixth episode airs at 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Regarding the last scene in ep 5... I’ve seen some translation as JH suggesting a “pre-relationship,” a “something relationship,” or a “fling.” 

 

Can someone fluent in Korean explain to me what is the nature of the relationship that he is suggesting? Like, is this type of arrangement supposed to be exclusive? (I’m guessing not exclusive, because then it isn’t that different from being bf/gf...). Or more like, a friends with skinship benefits and no commitment type of thing?

 

The translation as “fling” really changes the meaning of that scene for me somehow. Makes it seem as though they don’t intent for the relationship to last long anyway :/
