UI finished watching the episodes today. There are some things that i dont understand and since i just came to the forum i could not read the other pages. So here are my question:

1- I really can not coumt the age difference in the drama. I know love comes first but my logic cannot stop me and pestering me what is the age difference? I thought that it could be 13 but i have no idea how did i came up with it

2- am i the only one the teacher/lead is too perfect to be a lead that he is like a second character?? Gosh so confused... Also the kid with motorcycle i loved him so much in angry mom so i thought he could be the second male then he is just a part timer and not a part of love triangle. But our second lead is he is so awesome and his character is so good to be a first male... Lets see who is she gonna end up with? But looking forward for your thoughts.

P.s: i have a friend who watches kdramas and she has one analysis which  the first kiss of the female lead decides on who she is gonna end up with.

what do you mean by saying PSH? PSH can kiss lol.. not just your oppa can kiss. but PSH can kiss too. so funny read your comment, just like PSH choose the type kiss scene. It's not psh choose this type kiss scene.

Ok. I am just gonna forget the kiss ever happen! Lol. It was so awkward. It wasn't their expression or what..I understand that JH knows what stage HJ is at; no relationship experience, she has her defense up real high.....so he warn her before hand that he is gonna do smtg to her...what a man does to the woman he likes...and swoop in for a gentle kiss. But MY GOD....PD...why why...did u get KRW to sort of bend at his knees a little. So awkward. He could just lift her face up with both his hands and kiss her. Up to now, everything was perfect till KRW did that bend at knees thing. 

 

Okok....end of rant...IMMA just gonna remember the hugging scene and the rain scene for this episode. Lol...I cannot bear to look at the kiss a 2nd time till they are better kisses in later episodes. (I know there will be!!!!!)

Annyeong chingu's, another great episode today. I hope the ratings break 20% because it was a great episode.  

I am dying to rant about what Hye-Jung stepmom said to her in the office. I could swear the entire time she was blaming HJ's father for her illness . Had the nerve to call herself her mom when she has not been a part of the girls life in 13 years. When she first met HJ, she could not believe that her stepdaughter was a doctor. The way she told her daughter that this was her sister should so much like an insult. How can a grown woman have not matured and still have so much hate toward her stepdaughter. Look at that , HJ step mom is sick and  needs surgery. I bet you her sister and her stepmom won't tell the husband they saw her. HJ's sister did give her a business card to their restaurant . I wonder where they the money to open one. It was in the death of her halmeoni which is going to realllly hurt HJ.  

PS.... JH will have his work cut out for him because she will retreat in herself after reading the context in the envelope and she will not help her stepmom with surgery.

hmmmm ... I guess her dad's restaurant is a result of the money they received from grandma's surgery?

I dont know what HJ dad saw in the step mom, she is ugly outside and inside .. sheesh, was he that desperate or did she use some kind of love potion to lure him in? Good thing her half sister did not inherit anything from the step mom. Maybe her dad has really good genes (unfortunately got caught by an ugly witch and has been controlled since then). If not, how can he produce two daughters who are both beautiful inside and outside?

I hope HJ gets close to her sister despite the witch step mom. Her sister can become her family again.

i dunno about you guys but i love this episode
i love the 2 men, JH and YD, PSH acting is on point that she is still the ice snow queen, with grudges in the past, even SW has her moment, but (kinda lacks on drama execution side, but bearable)
I love the rain scene, the dance, and the song, and the mood...

but I would like to see, more on the dynamic of the plots, yeah the main plot is the truth behind halmoni's death,

but can they already introduce the conflict and thicken the plot... 

still hooked! and gonna re watch over and over again this episode hehe

Well I don't see anything wrong with the kiss based on characters and context.

The posture might look awkard intentionally or PD's fault  but everything else is fine

Maybe you and some people expected too much based on their own fantasies

I know I did. This song just gave me a whole new resurgence of feels. 

Meaningful song with simple and powerful lyrics befitting the scene. Honestly for me, it was the perfect scene despite the awkwardness. 

Maybe it's that awkwardness that made me love the scene even more. I'm weird, I know but heck let's just trust the pace. My predictions thus far has been proven wrong so many times that I'm not even gonna predict common kdrama plots anymore. LOL.

It's refreshing to be proven otherwise. Let's just hope there's no amnesia somewhere in the remaining episodes

why do i find it perfect?  to me, it was unplanned, it just happened and in the best of circumstances, after that romantic dance in the rain, JH looked tenderly at HJ and kissed her with all the tenderness of his love for her.  Yes, it was too long a wait for 13 years but it does not necessarily mean that he have to be all raging hormones even if he is still a man. A man who waited for HJ to grow to be become a person that she is right now.  JH is some who witnessed the events in HJ's life and knew she was through a lot.  JH said himself that he looked for her everytime he is in Korea and i believe he had been keeping tabs on her.  I love how he seem to compensate for all the lost time by trying his very best to be always by her side.  He readily admits to SW his feelings for HJ and that's a complete turn-around from his actions 13 years ago.  So back to the kiss and it was all tenderness, all caring and all love.  The way he softly planted his lips on hers was just too much i melted into a gooey puddle. There romance is gonna be one slow steady burn and it would ignite into something big when the proper time comes.

I so AGREE all these posts here. And we should also consider that, it was shown in the last episode that she hasn't even dated. That KISS was gentlest as it can be. And was perfect. 

And in a guys perspective, base on my husband anyway, he said, "I bet the actor (JH) was testing the waters, what will be her reaction when he will try to make a move as a man, being seen as a man assuming this is her first kiss. It just shows, how considerate is JH in HY feelings & reactions towards opposite sex. She doesn't even know how the actor (JH) looks at her which a full of affection. He should be thankful she didn't started kicking or headbutting him.

And totally get my husband's point. Before we criticize the scene, let us put ourselves in their shoes. What will be your reaction if you are in HJ's shoes? I think it is the Sweetest & yes gentlest first kiss for HJ, as she can get. She maybe 31 but she is lacking an interaction with opposite sex in that department. 

This is just episode 6 and I bet in the coming episodes, we can get a hot kiss as hot as JH (KRW). 14 episodes left :( and just thinking about it, makes my heart hurt. I don't want this drama to enddddddddddddd...

I'm a bit worried about the reception of the awkward kiss, people assume things and sometimes takes everything out of context. And Shin Hye has that reputation; though personally I don't have anything against it. 

But I do hope that the next one will be hotter, since Hye Jung learned two things when teacher taught her one. If you know what I mean... *wink wink

JH knows HJ's insecurities. Every time he wants to hug or kiss her he asks for her permission first so this kiss was appropriate as the first kiss. HJ has not had affection shown to her from her parents, only the very short time she was with her grandma did she get a proper family hug so it is totally normal for her not to know how to hug or kiss properly. Once again, this is the the character of HJ not PSH!!! People or viewers need to understand the role in the drama before jumping into conclusions.

Thank you for all the great comments. I hope you don't mind an ahjussi joining in. My daughter and I usually watch the dramas together and she was reluctant to watch a new PSH drama because she did not want to erase the good memory that Pinocchio left her. But once we started we are big fans of this new drama. I would like to see more fighting in later episodes because they were choreographed so well. I want her to impress the entire hospital staff and many gangsters of her martial skills. I like the leads no nonsense questions and answers after the helicopter landing. Very efficient! My favorite character so far is HJ's cheerful "lesbian" roommate. She is 100% cute. To join this thread I would have to read fast. Aigoo!

Such a shame to those who failed to appreciate the beautifully shot and executed kissing scene in the rain, demonstrating the pure feeling/connection inmocent HJ and JH feel. I get that you were expecting for passionate kiss like in AOHY for example? But does it fit their current situation right now? The dancing and chaste kissing scene in the rain were beautifully executed. I also wish for passionate kiss/smooch between them and will patiently waiting for that moment to come at the right time when HJ is really sure about her feeling towards JH and open her heart to love him wholeheartedly.

Well, salty people have selective eyes where they only see the bad and negative things about their target.

I don't think I need to mention names here, the salty people which will only come here just to condemn about psh kissing scene. Are you that deaf and blind about this story and the characters in it?

I agree I think the first kiss was for JH to show HJ that there is more to life then just surviving through pain and anger.  He said it himself she does not even realize how he looks at her , Like a man and not a Teacher. It makes him sad to think that for 13 years she lived her life just trying to survive never experiencing dating with the opposite sex or even love. This kiss was meant to be gentle (since HJ startles easily over things that make her uncomfy and she could have punched him in the darn nose or broke his arm) it was meant to show her that there is more to life out there then what she has been feeling and it was meant to make her think and start to see him as more then her Professor and former teacher she needs to see him as a man and I think also realize she too can have a man want and love her.  A man who has feelings for her, who is interested in her. Who is one of the people still in her life who knows what she has gone through and still wants to show her that life can still have tender moments. That there are people around her that care about her and can love her for who she is. Also as he said she does not have to be tough all the time. It is not a weakness to have someone take care of her as well. 

He gave her that memory just like those above said. A tender, romantic 1st  memory to hold on to when things get rough (and we know they will). He is giving her time to adjust and take her own steps to him when she is ready. But mostly like those above said he is teaching her what love can be for her. I see that lesson from him even if she does not return his affection she can use it going forward (but Of course I want her with him!). I look forward to see how he gives her romantic moments that will hopefully show her what she has denied herself for 13 years. Those moments do not have to be every day to be meaningful and they will have more effect if they are spontaneous just like at the end of the ep today. I can't wait to see what JH does next. I see him too learning as he goes and these things are first as well for him possibly. 

We all know their path to love will get bumpy... lol its only episode 6.. We will have rivals for HJ's affection.. We will have problems again with SW when that doctor she likes possibly starts liking HJ (i really see this coming) and we see HJ out shine her in that hospital. I do expect SW to grow as well though today showed she does have a side that can feel deeply when her patient died. I expect our gangster boy to pop up again as well if he survived.(I missed the first half of the show got to re-watch with subs) Where else will he find a woman like HJ (his men treat her more like their boss then their own LMAO) Then I expect to have our missing guy on the motorcycle return as well. All of this while HJ is trying to expose what happen to her grandmother, JH has to deal with SW's dad and grandfather doing something to push out JH's adopted dad (i hope he does not die from the strain of what they are planning) from that hospital and HJ trying to learn the road of love. 

Should be very interesting to see what road blocks pop up for our OTP on the way to 'hopefully' love as HJ realizes on her own where her heart has grown to want to be with. (With JH I hope)

I see this show about growth (personal, professional, emotional/mental and even romantic).. for all of the characters..

ROFL I love it, when Dr. Hong started to dance I was like if I were HJ i would be thinking. "WTF Dr. Hong having a mid life crisis". It made me laugh.

Regarding the kiss I laugh, it's because  Dr. Hong looks awkward bending down like that, but I get that kissing scene. It's his way of showing he really takes into consideration that it's probably HJ first kiss and he's taking it slowly as much as he can without spooking her and having him getting a high kick. Maybe will keep HJ wanting more hehe

I was back reading the pages I missed and I came to that Hancinema negative review thing. So I wanted to share something that I feel is gonna be inevitable after today's episode. I have a feeling that most of the established drama review and recap sites (in English, dont know about other languages) are not going to like the recent developments....I have seen almost all of them get put off by HJH's pace of things + most have had serious reservations of the student- teacher aspect [ I never understood why....must be something wrong with my moral compass] + the kiss which has been so appreciated here I am anticipating will be mostly negated. I feel like I should caution fellow patients so that you don't get disappointed or hurt. I love all of these sites too much to be angry at their view points but I am just genuinely baffled why so many people find this drama off instead of lovely
