@stroppyse you can start Chocolate . It ends this week

Thanks, but it's not an episode count thing, it's more of a having enough time to do a binge watch thing. :D

I binged on 12 pieces of Chocolate in less than 3 days. Yes it’s definitely better to binge, just need to watch out that your tear ducts can take the crying when binging. So yeah, probably best not to do it in 3 days like I did :P

Wait! There's crying in Chocolate? Like, lots and lots of crying?? Hmmm, I may have to re-think the watching on this drama. I'm actually not a huge fan of angst and tears. Which is so totally weird when I watch kdramas at all, I know. But, there is a difference of a few episodes versus 3 days worth.

@stroppyse there is some crying involved but it's more around the individual stories of the patients in the hospice and not so much due to the story between the leads themselves.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm not sure if I can handle a lot of hospice stories as yet, because I find them so sad in RL as well. Patients in hospice usually only have a few weeks or days before they pass away. Holding their hands and listening to what they might want to say is usually the only sort of comfort one can give them then, but even that extracts a heavy emotional toll. I guess I'll have to think about this one.

Also, backreading a bit, all I can say @Dhakra and @triplem, while I don't know what your dispute is about, I just had to comment on Manhole. Aliens.

This is an off tangent argument. I wasn’t even talking about the quality of the dramas you watch . I am saying you do like romance, but you keep saying no when obviously all the dramas I hv listed have romance at its core . And no, I did  not say romance is only about kiss & skinship . Is that your idea of romance? Argue better :P

By the way , heck a lot of people like Something About 1%. - one man’s meat is another man’s poison.  After hard selling Manhole to me , you are in no position to criticise my drama taste . Aliens , Dhakra ....A.L.I.E.N.S

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha. This is why I love @triplemLOL. I don't think @Dhakra understand what romance is.....tsk tsk.

Btw I loved something about 1% too. Such a sweet love story.

Just give one or two episodes a try first. It’s that kind of drama you can decide immediately whether to continue or not after even just one episode. You can always stop when you don’t think it’s your cup of tea.

I am probably too easily moved to tears, so don’t let my cry-baby tendency hold you back from this wonderful drama. It’s really the good kind of crying. One that made you feel glad afterwards, not the angsty type. The side stories are written beautifully as the growth journey for the main leads.

I would not call it a dispute. We do this kind of stuff all the time. :D

But yeah, Alien -_-

I probably know better than you do and all this RomComs are far away from real, actual love. Slice of Life lovestorys are way more accurate, especially since the romance plot is more shallow and not the "IN YOUR FACE"-kind.

Ofc you do ^_^^_^^_^

Does anyone really know what real, actual love is?

And, does everyone really want real, accurate love stories to watch? I only pose this last question because it's the drama and the angst that pulls people in. A love story without conflict where a guy and a girl meet, like each other, are totally open and honest with each other, get the blessings of their family and friends, and then live a normal life together would be a goal in RL, but not that exciting to watch on the screen. Just saying.

@stroppyse The death of the patients could be sad. But for me, it's all already in its given time. As they all have critical illness, I saw death as a release for them & way to be in peace. They also have a way to make each patient story is heartwarming & beautiful.

And the lead romance, is one in the million that I really really like. It's not 'instant noodle' type of love story, but have progress along the way. I personally think @Lmangla might appreciate this type of romance :)

P.s I have not cried single tears , but I'm also on the other side of extreme B)

Btw wheres my other potential customer @angelangie:lol:

And @Dhakra if all persuasion failed, i will just ask u most fundamental question, do u like Ha Ji Won the actress?

@stroppyse as you and @kokodus both know that @Dhakra often like to say he’s not into romance in dramas . I was amused when he said it again when some of our friends here were trying to recommend Chocolate to him . I called him out on this & listed a number of dramas where romance is front & centre that  I remember him watching. Also not too Long ago he declared One Spring Night as one of the best dramas he’s seen ( OSN - the last I check is is a contemporary romance drama ! :w00t:

So anyway my final point - why would someone need to be the defender of second female leads ( isn’t that what you call yourself @Dhakra ? ) if there isn’t a love triangle. And the fact that there is a love triangle means that the drama has romance as part of its main focus . Ta-da ....I rest my case .

By the way , you should hv argued better that what you didn’t like was fluffy rom-coms, not that you don’t like romance. ^_^:P I am not trying to sell Chocolate to you , but the others felt that you may like it because it is a matured slow burn romance . The protagonists are at least in their 30s and above . If anything, the OST & setting of the drama will probably catch your attention .

@thanie I saw the voice poster....I prefer the Korean version

No bias-ness, it’s just personal opinion. Psh. Jang Hyuk looks better. *shut the door*:joy:

@Sushimi, this is partly your fault, you know. You didn't warn me from the get-go that there's another version of this drama, thus, I mistakenly downloaded the wrong one. For the 1st 15 minutes, I thought it's an out-of-korea, with non-korean casts Korean drama. Well, to make the story short, the entire Ep.1 ended without the korean "feels" and I could only mutter to myself, "Holy  S**t, I got the wrong version$@#%" I'm so into Netflix, unfortunately the Korean version isn't available there ...

My life need not be complicated, so I decided to move on right away and enjoy the whole Thai ride, though I find it really weird, you know ... Thai Language. My first time, thanks to you ... LOL!

*opening the door, shutting it again, this time with Louder a BANG!" Hahahahaha ....

@Lawyerh, for a drama with too much hype, you feel sleepy

@Sejabin, you'll enjoy CLOY. Promise!

 Hmm, I also think that @Dhakra is a romantic, just picky about which romances he watches. Though, not sure a romance of people in their 30's would necessarily appeal to him, though better than a simplistic high school romance. @Dhakra is just complicated; you already know that about him, @triplem.

I still haven't had a chance to start Chocolate, but the thing that really recommends itself to me is that it has Ha Ji Won and Yoon Kye Sang, both of whom I feel are very good actors, and they usually pick interesting projects. The patients dying in a hospice gives me a little pause, but I figure I'll try the first couple of episodes and see if I can handle the level of emotion in it away from the OTP.

I think with BLWL, which is currently in its angsty phase, I already assume that the OTP are going to have a happy ending, and that it won't turn into some weird triangle romance or anything. JW, the third male lead was just a purely fantastic surprise. I've actually watched a few dramas with him as supporting cast, but he's so lovely, I hope this leads to bigger and better roles for him.

As for CLoY, it's a slick production, and I'm curious about where the story goes despite its inherent angsty setup.

Otherwise, my head right now is actually full of Won Bin yet again, so no room for any other oppas or ajusshis. Just Won Bin.

@stroppyse JW is a lovely surprise. It’s not so much the love triangle but it’s his relationship with JH that is very nice to watch . The cousins are a lot closer than I had expected. Also I often love how he deals with his Double x mum . The road ahead for the OTP will be tough . I think JW will be their pillar of support.
