The charismatic and talented South Korean actor Lee Min Ho arrived in the city of Vancouver, Canada to participate in the filming of the long-awaited Apple TV series Pachinko.

 

Lee Min Ho quietly arrived in Vancouver, Canada on February 25 to begin filming scenes for his upcoming television series Pachinko there. The news was shared by an excited Fanclub of the star in the city through social networks.

 

According to local media, the actor is fulfilling a mandatory quarantine as part of the health protocols against Covid-19. After his arrival at Vancouver International Airport, he was transferred to a hotel that is part of the list of facilities that the Canadian government has arranged for this purpose.

 

According to Canadian law, international travelers must take a COVID-19 test upon arrival in the country and stay in a government-ordered hotel for three nights while awaiting test results. 

 

Afterwards, Lee Min Ho will have to follow the mandatory two-week quarantine period, so it is likely that the filming of Pachinko will take place in the presence of Lee Min Ho in late March or early April.

 

Previously, the actor had already recorded some scenes of Pachinko in South Korea, so his trip to Canada is due to script requirements to continue with another part of the story. 

 

Produced by Apple TV+,   Pachinko is the dramatic adaptation of the best-selling novel by writer Min Jin Lee of the same name and tells the story of four generations from the same Korean immigrant family. 

 

The story follows for decades the members of that family who migrate from Korea to Japan and then to the United States. In Pachinko Lee Min Ho will play the role of Hansu , an enigmatic wealthy and powerful merchant with ties to the Japanese mafia (Yakuza).

 

On his reasons for participating in Pachinko, Lee Min Ho explained in a recent interview that after participating in so many popular K-dramas that have built him the image of being a knight in armor, he felt that after The King Eternal Monarch it was time to make a change.

South Korean actor Lee Min Ho arrives in Vancouver to film Apple TV's Pachinko

 

 

Popular South Korean actor Lee Min Ho has arrived in Vancouver, where he’ll soon begin filming for his latest TV drama.

The 33-year-old has starred in a number of popular Korean dramas, including Boys Over Flowers, City Hunter, Heirs, and most recently, The King: Eternal Monarch.

His latest project, according to Variety, will be for Apple TV’s Pachinko, an adaptation of the Min Jin Lee novel. The story follows four generations of a Korean immigrant family.

 

Photos and tweets shared by Minoz, the nickname for Lee’s global fanbase, confirmed his arrival at YVR Vancouver International Airport last week.

 

Due to Canada’s recently implemented international travel measures, the South Korean actor is likely completing or has recently completed his mandatory hotel stay.

 

Travellers entering Canada internationally are required to stay at one of 11 federally-authorized hotels as they await a negative COVID-19 test. According to the Canadian government, accommodations will cost $2,000 per person — which includes the cost of private tests and the hotel stay.

 

According to What’s Filming, Pachinko began filming in Vancouver in early February and will wrap up in late April.
