Technically it's "Young Heir to the City Master/Owner", so "master" in English for short. Same with QQ and CC, they're not "princess" per se but their title is something along the line of a noble lady who's in the family of the City Owner. That's why people mock QQ (the original) by calling her a Princess since she's not actually a princess (daughter of a king/emperor). 

 

I can't remember what happened in ep 9 but even if he had his own agenda to marry into Huayuan city, the fact remains that he married into HY city as some sort of a political hostage, so he technically can't leave.

If I recall correctly QCC was initially leading (after steadily overtaking all the dramas) then UTP suddenly overtook QCC and the fight has been quite exciting since.

You can see the numbers for top 2 have grown quite a bit. The others are pretty flat. I think each person gets a few votes a day and voting goes on till month end so some ways to go.

I also just want to mention Tencent translations are not 100% accurate. I have catch on some things they translated that is not right. For example instead of translating cooking rice or cook the rice...they translate it as let's do it. Or when HS told PH that QQ is his woman they translate it as wife. So there will be some mistranslated here and there with WeTv and other broadcast station english subtitles.

I get the cook rice part because it might require cultural annotation that they might not wanna invest in doing, but wife vs woman seems like a silly choice to not do the correct one.

Ummm...was the idea to impress the audience with HY City men cause RuiRui walking in as the leader ain't helping with the cause. The way he posed and stick his tongue out. Sure any woman that saw such a vision would probably asked WTH is wrong with him not jump all over him hahhaha. And then the way QQ describes Bai Ji...he's handsome and stupid. A pretty good selling point hahhaah.

i dont know how many rewatch i already had since, but still fun to watch this series! nevertheless, i still could not understand why HS did not let QQ drink the poison during the wedding night. did it mean he actually fell in love with her from their first meet? and that he negated himself since the future HS questioned QQ why the male lead would fall in love easily to the female lead? hahahaha! analysis time! :)))

I think the sweet kisses and not so explicit are appropriate in this drama because both HS and QQ in this story are very young, not even 20 years old, and both never had relationships before. So naughty things seem not very appropriate and will put it out of context and the sweetness of this drama just for the sake of sex and steamy scenes like a porn movie then.

Well, depends. Historically you are right but then such sweet kisses shared in public would have scandalized everyone. Today Teenagers aren’t that shy anymore. At least in my country.

I think it is rather because ZLS is still quite young and the Drama is targeted for young audiences. It is more about romantic love than adult love.

It's because she kept foiling his plan accidentally, so he suspected that she knew he was trying to poison her. Copy & paste from a previous post I made earlier in the thread:

"This was a subtle but hilarious physical joke in Tiger & Rose that I missed the first time I watched. This is a prime example of the smart gut-busting comedy that this show does so well.
 
He poisoned his cup, thinking they would feed each other wine from the cup in their own hand (his hometown’s custom), which means he thought he would feed *her* his cup. But she was used to doing the cross-cup way, and thus was going to drink from *her own* cup. That means, HE would have to drink the poisoned cup.

Realizing his f-up, he faked a cough, and switched the cups!

She, meanwhile, thought his awkward weird behavior was because she didn’t follow his custom, and switched to HIS way. Again, he was almost forced to drink his own poison.

Because The Romance of Tiger and Rose has Fei Wo Si Cun, the author of novel Goodbye My Princess as one of the producer, I feel some similar things in both and that's why I can't help but compares between them. 

 

I would say that Han Shuo has the scheming trait like Li Cheng Yin but he is far more adorable & loveable. The main difference is Li Cheng Yin want to has both power & Xiao Feng as his wife no matter what is the consequence.

While Han Shuo know if he still follow the original plan, even if Qian Qian love him & he still can get her as his wife, she still will despises him.

 

But yeah, if our banana Han Shuo is truly like Crown Prince Li Cheng Yin in Goodbye My Princess, then not only Pei Heng will died in a brutal way, Zi Rui & Meng Guo also gonna get banished LMAO

Although I was disappointed that there was only one 'adult' scene at the jail (and not a single kiss!) , I think the flow of the story and the more sweet than passionate scenes suited the tone.

HS is meant to be 19 years old (and to die before 20 - as everyone expected) so there is that youth factor. I do realise that in those days, they tend to marry young but considering it's more like a teenagerish love drama, I already didn't expect the level of Love Hypnotic (lol) .

I enjoyed the sweetness and the way HS looks at QQ! And the way he treasures her completely once he has fallen in love.

I'll probably rewatch once the subs are completed.

And eagerly wait for the fanmeet!
