Yoo Joon-sang gives a toast in new stills from JTBC’s Elegant Friends

New stills have been released featuring the main ensemble cast of JTBC’s upcoming mystery drama, Elegant Friends.

The story is about a group of five men who have been friends for 20 years. They’ve been lucky to all lead happy and peaceful, yet ordinary, lives. After a sudden death, everything changes. Long-buried secrets are exposed, and conflicts rise anew within the tightly knit group.

Yoo Joon-sang (What’s Wrong Mr. Poong-sang) plays the glue of the group, Ahn Goong-chul. At work, he is a passionate and hard-working head of department. And at home, he is an affectionate and romantic husband to Song Yoon-ah (Secret Mother).

Song plays a psychiatrist named Nam Jung-hae, who seems standoffish on first impression due to her perfectionist tendencies. Once you get to know her though, you can see that she has a warm heart and desires to be loved.

Bae Soo-bin (A Pledge to God) takes on the role of divorcé Jung Jae-hoon. He has a guarded personality and usually wears a poker face that makes it difficult to tell what he’s thinking or feeling. In contrast, Kim Sung-oh (Hwayugi) plays the goofy Jo Hyung-woo, who often seems immature next to his wife. He works as a director on adult films and continues to wait for the day when one of his movies will become a blockbuster hit.

This drama will air on Netflix under the name Graceful Friends. Friday & Saturday. Netflix release date July 10, 2020

 

8 days later update. I got the above info from a Netflix alert on June 30 for three dramas.

Yesterdays drama didn't show up on Netflix. Egg on my face kind of thing. Were we in love is one of the other dramas and I'm sure that is going to be on Netflix. I will wait and see what happens with this drama Graceful Friends.

 

July 9 update. No "coming soon" on Netflix, Viki, Kocowa so far. ODK doesn't do "coming soon".  I hope it won't be like The World of a Married Couple drama. I couldn't fine that drama anywhere, so I didn't watch it. As they say on the kdramas, "fighting"

Reasons to watch: Of all the dramas premiering this week, Graceful Friends strikes me as the most different. While it gives off similar vibes to Sky Castle and A Couple’s World in terms of stylization and crisp production, murder mysteries are not common to dramaland, so I’m pretty intrigued (especially having grown up on Agatha Christie novels). The ensemble cast is impressive to say the least — boasting Yoo Joon-sang, Song Yoon-ah, Bae Soo-bin, and Kim Won-hae just to name a few. I’m expecting some sleek, twisted, heart-pounding suspense, and even betting on understated suspense, which is the best kind to me.

 I remember reading that all 16 episodes of this drama will be rated R.
 

Sad to hear that both (this and Good Detective) won’t be on Netflix. Will try to catch it on the same day on ODK; thanks for the tips, I didn’t know that until reading your post.

I just check on iqiyi and viu... there is no graceful friends on their coming soon. So idk which site got the rights for this drama in asia.
