I understood that this was the portal.

He left Corea, and then met his Korean driver.

No he is Corea bookstore owner. He mentioned about prince Buyeong visiting the bookstore.

This was very sad episode :sweatingbullets:

I won't  repeat the points since you ppl are ahead of me.

I just wanted to mention that LG's cousin Se jin looks to me like dopplegangler of facemask girl.

KGE acting in the last scene reminded me of JTE crying for Kim shin. She is really a good crier.:bawling:

How come Lee lim can kill all royal guards, prince buyeong was supposed to go to palace. How I wish king himself along with his royal guards escorted him to the palace:bawling:

Looks like episode 11 onwards we can expect time traveling aspect.

Now I am off to watch this episode again.

Oh also just to lighten up the mood they missed PPL opportunity when Tae eul brought food for jo yeong I thought they would show kimchi or something else.:joy:

They are openly talking about PPL when they were sitting outside the police station Well looks like motto is if you can't avoid PPL then openly promote it.

I'm thinking that the whole preview scene (which is amazing by the way...) happens in the Kingdom of Corea, because LR forcibly takes her over to Corea to use her as some bargaining chip OR as he said to the late Prince Buyeong, that he wants to kill those close to LG (including JTE & the Prince) to break him. And so maybe JTE narrowly escapes after fighting her way out and then breaks down trying to find LG and pleading for someone to hear her and for LG to find her and save her...

Or it can be a dream sequence??

So much to observe in this episode. It is thrilling!!

Spoiler

Guys, I think JTE dies and LG is traveling through time to meet her again.:bawling:

“Because I had to come from far away.”

He’s not referring to another world as “far.” JTE knows he lives in another world so of course he traveled from far away. No, he’s referring to somewhere further than his world. He must be traveling through the frozen moments of time to meet her again.

”I have to go back now.”

He can’t stay long because he’s only traveling through time. There must be a rule where you can’t stay forever.

“There will come a moment when it seems I’ve disappeared. I don’t want you to worry too much when that happens. It just means I’m walking through the frozen moments in time.”

This voiceover says it all.

I’m crying :bawling:

Someone posted that the flowers JTE is trying to grow represents a fate that cannot be changed. Kim So Wol’s poem “invocation of the dead” is for a lover who’s died but the poet is not willing to let go. Everything that’s been presented to us in this drama points to JTE dying. And we thought LG travels back in time to change the future to save her but if the flowers had meaning to this story, then the writer is trying to tell us their fate cannot be changed. It seems he was never able to save her. This explains why we see LG visiting JTE at the end and suddenly disappearing. Now my theory is, he didn’t travel back in time to save her. He traveled back in time to give young LG the ID so he can grow up to meet JTE before future LG actually did the first time around. Therefore, he would have more moments to meet JTE as he travels to the past. What I’m saying is, the LG we saw at the end of episode 10 is the savior. He is not the same LG we have been seeing this whole time. They are the same person but one is in the past and one is in the future. This doesn’t mean I don’t think their fate cannot be changed. To me, the fact that JTE planted some flowers gives me hope. Once those flowers sprout, I think they will be able to change their fate. May have something to do with god’s will.

My theory is we’re dealing with one timeline. What we’re watching is the past. It is the frozen moments of time. The LG we have been watching and the one from the future are actually just the same person. Therefore, it’s not like the one from the future is going to live forever without JTE while the one we see now is going to be able to save her and live a happy life with her. I think it’s more along the lines of, the LG we are watching now has not caught up to the future LG. But he will follow the same steps. It’s hard to explain but let’s just imagine that every moment of our lives were frozen in time. And imagine taking a chunk of our lives 10 years ago and pressing play. I guess the easiest way to explain this is to imagine our lives were recorded like a movie. If we rewatch ourselves 10 years ago, that person would still be us, just that they haven’t lived the next 10 years yet. The me from 10 years ago will eventually grow up to be me today. Maybe I’m just confusing everyone lol.

i agree with this. If you look at LG’s clothes, it is definitely not the LG who is mourning the Uncle. In fact, it is the same LG from the very first part of episode one, the one carrying the sword (they wear the same clothes). So the future caused the past and the past caused the future. Fixed timeline theory.

But if JTE does indeed die then how why does she show up in the 2022 video. I think she will survive. Or maybe she will die but the yoyo kid will step in and save JTE? Because if LL kills her in the present (2020) then who is the JTE in 2022.

Then speaking of yoyo kid, the kid doesn’t seem to like LL. Telling him he does not like blood and the rules in his story keeps changing.

Poor JTE. All alone and looking for LG.

welcome to the world of the Monarchs! :D

Hope to see you more around with your comments and feedback too. Always good to see people delurk and join! A roller coaster indeed! Right now, we have no exact idea on what is going on but the hints are pointing us towards directions that we have predicted. Loving someone and having to keep on travelling back to time to be with that someone..i tell you, it does tug one’s heart. Especially when you want the characters to be with each other :tears: so we completely understand the anguish.

Monarchs for eternity! Love that name! :D

Seriously tho at this point, the only thing I want is a happy ending for both of them. We have so much going on and only have six episodes left. I'm honestly worried about how KES is gonna tie the story at the end. If she pulls another Goblin, then I am gonna be so mad.

Is it safe to say that the popularity of TKEM has surpassed every k drama worldwide this year?

Yes Definitely and by quite a good margin just half way through it's run time. I always expected this but I just didn't realize how higher it went up the ladder

Ep 10

Ending scene

LG: hey, have you been well?

TE: nodding, it took you a while this time.

LG: because i had to come from far away, i realized i have never even gave you a single flower thats why i crossed the universe for you.

Tae Eul takes a step towards Lee gon and then suddenly stops. ( this is the point she realizes something amiss ) that this Lee Gon who visited here is not the Lee Gon from the current time line. He is the Lee Gon from the future timeline. The Lee gon take the steps towards her. Handed her the flower and says his goodbye.

LG: but the thing is, i have to go back now.

TE: you have to go back?

LG: Right. I also realized i never told you this. I love you. I am deeply in love with you.

Lee Gon kisses Tae Eul and then his gone...

LG: voice over ( there will come a moment when it seems I've disappeared. I don't want you to worry too much when that happens. It just means I'm walking through the frozen moments in time.

Something must have happened to Lee Gon and he got stuck in the limbo (the land of no where) just like in the movie the time travelers wife he is traveling through the times and is only revisiting Tae Eul through that and then he will suddenly disappear. Or something must have happened to Tae Eul in the future and now he is reliving the times and travels through it when  she is still alive.

JY and TE conversation is so deep.

JY told TE besides LG only TE can delete LG wrote. JY telling indirectly to TE that besides LG only TE can end their relationship because LG can't definitely be with her in RK since he is a King to a country. How she can handle it and leave everything and be a queen in KC? Although it hurts but thats the reality. Whatever she chooses it will really hurt her. Leaving everything for her love her family her life in RK then but being a queen is very difficult and big responsibility. But staying in RK and not able to see LG is a different level of torture. So what she will do? :tears:

I just can't handle it.. :sweatingbullets:

Wow, I’m surprised someone can even understand all that verbiage. I was afraid I would confuse the hell out of everyone lol.

And this is the hard part. I can’t decide because I’ve been sold on two saviors this whole time. But I think my new theory makes it impossible for there to be 2 saviors. The ending of episode 10 hints that he can’t stay long when he travels which means it’s not exactly an easy task. Therefore, what’s the probability that two people can travel at the same time? It’s highly unlikely because it’s already difficult enough for one person. I’m going to have to pause here and think. I can’t decide between one savior or 2 saviors now.

With all these new clues, it might as well just had been one savior. Different LG's from different time loops trying to go back. Also this quote you brought up “There will come a moment when it seems I’ve disappeared. I don’t want you to worry too much when that happens. It just means I’m walking through the frozen moments in time” reminds me of the other quote he told JTE where if he takes too long, it's just him being on his way. I guess if his goal wasn't to save JTE but just to meet her than he had accepted his fate to keep loving someone who will always die soon. It's too sad for me. How dare TKEM trapped me. I usually avoid watching/reading unhappy endings. :bawling:

Also those flowers he showed up with in front of JTE, were they flowers that sprouted from the previous JTE who may have planted them in the crossover? Pretty sure the seeds current JTE planted haven't sprouted yet, but then how come they didn't see those flowers when the current JTE/LG went to the crossover. The time there should be nonexistent to the point where things that happened in previous loop would've remained.

Onto lighter note...

@Umjicheok If you can't stop haters from hating, you just got to rub it in their face.  At least now we can say the PPL are there for comedic purpose in this drama filled with dark foreshadowing.

New here! Always lurking around, just wanted to share my theory but I am not sure if someone has shared this.

Watching the last two episodes, I can't be sure that LG is time jumping to see JTE  - that has not even crossed my mind until I jumped here because I felt so lost after the last 5 minutes of that episode.

The timeline of the drama is a bit confusing in itself, sometimes they would be in a scene that was part of another scene but was not seen - does that make sense? Don't get me wrong, I like that element as it keeps it exciting and mysterious. Scene recaps have somehow always bothered me and showing it this way is fresh and makes you look forward to what else is there, if that makes sense.

BUT, if that is what is happening, I agree that JTE will die at a certain part - but not going to be the sad end. I have always felt that something will happen to her in order to save LG. I think LG could be time travelling to take the present JTE to the future because the future JTE has died. The only way you can time travel is with the magic flute so I believe the future LG is still chasing the evil uncle so he can go back to present JTE and they can travel in the future together, and be together.

My original theory is that Sinjae saved the young LG so that in the present, LG can figure out a way to save JTE. I still think future LG and Sinjae are working together to make sure that JTE doesn't die. I think Sinjae's mum took JTE's ID and instead of giving it to the evil uncle, she will give it to her son to help him save JTE.

AHHHH!!! It's always so refreshing to jump here because everyone is appreciating the drama compared to the comments online.

Don't get me wrong, it has flaws but I think this drama is just too complicated for some people to give it a chance. The concept is super different for a Kdrama, giving me Lost vibes, you are there but then you get to another episode and you realise you are actually nowhere.

No.  Crash Landing on You and Itaewon Class were much much bigger.

Let's not make comparisons.

Sorry, I got the wrong and inaccurate information.
