The PD of Start Up fixed their shooting schedule for him. Ah, this is his going to be his biggest dilemma going forward, as he gets more choice pop up.

@jelly, yes. I agree.  Not every director is going to tailor make the schedule for him.

I like the Mr. Hong project with SMA. SMA has finally solidified her acting after the chief. She was very cute and adorable in her early dramas like Arang and the magistrate when she was a lot younger. And, this is a studio dragon production, if the writer is good, he/she can come up stories for each household in the village and would give a good platform to show off KSH's acting skills.

I like this project and your thoughts on it, @sanghyuk

At the end of the day, they need to select long term effects for his career. Don't go down the easy fame route for KSH. It doesn't suit him, and would send his career in a bad path if they chase short term fame prospects. Too much of him could lead to backlash, so he and SALT should be aware of that.

@jelly, I agree.  Also, Kim Seon Ho was pretty methodical in advancing his career. He does not strike me as one to make rush decisions, and yet there is certainly more pressure on him now.

What intrigues me is HJP as a role is sharp tongued and can be callous at times. There are some clips I re-watched, where I noticed that HJP was quite harsh/fickle. But somewhere in that, we saw through that

@jelly, exactly what I thought too.  HJP was a complex character and Kim Seon-Ho gave a brilliant layered performance.  Even in the Drama, initially it is only Halmoni who can see him how he really is. And their relationship was the best part of the Drama (for me.)

Kim So Yeon Talks About Husband Lee Sang Woo’s Reaction To Her Kiss Scenes In “The Penthouse” + Story Of How Their Dating News Broke

On the latest episode of MBC’s “How Do You Play?”, “The Penthouse” star Kim So Yeon shared stories about her husband Lee Sang Woo!

During the January 9 broadcast of the variety show, Kim So Yeon made a special guest appearance to chat and play games with Yoo Jae Suk, Defconn, and Kim Jong Min.

After the three stars praised Kim So Yeon’s critically-acclaimed and award-winning performance in the hit SBS drama “The Penthouse,” the conversation turned to the topic of her husband Lee Sang Woo. When asked if he had ever been shocked by her intense acting in the drama, Kim So Yeon revealed that he had actually stopped watching the show for an entirely different reason.

“I had a few kiss scenes [in ‘The Penthouse’],” explained Kim So Yeon. “[Because of that,] he stopped watching the drama after a certain point. So I’ve been picking and choosing only the good scenes, and I show him those.”

She shyly added, “Now I stop him from watching those scenes. [When a scene like that comes on,] I’ll tell him, ‘Go inside for a bit.'”

Kim Jong Min also brought up the fact that before their marriage, Kim So Yeon and Lee Sang Woo had been known to meet up very early in the morning for 15-hour dates.

“Yes, because Sang Woo was so insistent on meeting at 7 in the morning,” the actress recalled with a laugh. “I went along with it, but I ended up getting dark circles [under my eyes]. So I decided, ‘I can’t keep doing this. We’ll have to get married.'”

Kim So Yeon went on to tell the story of how her relationship with Lee Sang Woo first became public knowledge. After watching a clip of her past appearance on MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer,” she remarked, “There’s actually a story behind that day. That was the day the news of my relationship with Lee Sang Woo first broke.”

“While I was preparing for [‘The King of Mask Singer’],” she revealed, “on the day right before filming, when I was busy practicing, a reporter contacted me to let me know they’d be writing an article [about my dating Lee Sang Woo]. So I begged her, ‘I’m going on “The King of Mask Singer” tomorrow, and I’m really nervous, so could you please wait just one day [to publish the news]?’ I begged her desperately, and she agreed to put it off for one day. I was so grateful.”

“However, when I went to the filming set [the next day],” she went on, “thirty minutes before I appeared on stage, the news broke. Someone else had reported it.”

“In that moment, I felt so apologetic [to the reporter who had agreed to wait],” said Kim So Yeon. “I felt so terrible, I really didn’t know what to do. They were telling me to stand by, so I asked them if they could please give me just 10 more minutes to get ready. In those 10 minutes, I called the reporter and told her I was so, so sorry, and I asked if I could at least give her an interview.”

“Back then, it hadn’t been that long since we’d started dating, so I didn’t have much to talk about,” recalled the actress. “But during those 10 minutes, I racked my brain to think of all the stories I could possibly remember [for the interview]. Then, as soon as I hung up, I had to go on stage, so I didn’t get a chance to put on any makeup. I was supposed to get my makeup done before I went into filming, but I wasn’t able to.”

Kim So Yeon went on to reveal that she still remembered the reporter’s name and which news outlet she worked for. “Even now, I still can’t believe that kind of thing happened,” she continued. “I felt so bad.”

Amidst the actress’s humble protests, Yoo Jae Suk remarked, “Honestly, it’s widely known in the entertainment industry that all of Kim So Yeon’s staff and fellow actors name her as the top of the top when it comes to having a kind heart. Some people even say she’s too kind for her own good.”

Park Hae Jin Opens Up About Pressure Of Winning His 1st Daesang

Park Hae Jin has shared his thoughts on winning his very first Daesang (Grand Prize)!

On December 30, Park Hae Jin took home the Daesang at the 2020 MBC Drama Awards for his starring role in “Kkondae Intern.” After his win, the actor sat down for an interview with Ilgan Sports to talk about what it was like to receive the first Daesang of his 14-year career.

Repeatedly emphasizing his disbelief that he had won the awards, Park Hae Jin humbly remarked, “I didn’t do much, but I somehow ended up receiving a Daesang. I sent out texts to people saying, ‘I’m sorry that I was the one to receive it.’ During my life as an actor, I thought to myself, ‘Will I ever be able to win this kind of award?'”

“I think at least 50 percent of my winning this award was luck,” he continued. “40 percent was the strength of the drama itself, and I think I only contributed about 10 percent.”

The actor went on to confess, “When accepting awards, I’ve seen many people express that they feel burdened and say, ‘I don’t know if I deserve to win this award.’ Now I understand why they said that. Maybe because of the current situation, but rather than feeling pure joy upon receiving the award, I kept thinking, ‘What should I do? I’m in big trouble.’ I had a lot of mixed feelings.”

Describing his experience after his big night was over, Park Hae Jin shared, “After the award ceremony, I went right home, washed up, and went to sleep. I’d never seen so many congratulatory messages in my life. No matter how much I scrolled and scrolled, there were still new messages.”

    Park-Hae-Jin-XPN.jpg

As for his role in “Kkondae Intern,” in which he played a man who finally gets sweet revenge on a former boss who once made his life miserable, Park Hae Jin commented, “It was a new challenge for me, and as an actor, I feel like it was a great character. But because of that, I struggled even more. I worked hard to try to blend into the drama without standing out, but to also appear three-dimensional at the same time.”

The actor couldn’t seem to say enough good things about the cast and crew of the drama, recalling, “Out of all my acting projects up until now, I was the happiest [while filming ‘Kkondae Intern’]. It was a gathering of people who were all truly kind to the bone, so there was never any trouble or conflict, and we wrapped up the drama nicely. There was really a lot of camaraderie, and the set was always overflowing with laughter.”

When asked about the possibility of a second season of the drama, Park Hae Jin replied, “I’m also in a position where I’m waiting to hear about it. Even if it isn’t ‘Kkondae Intern,’ I really want to work with this team again on another project no matter what.”

He went on to reveal, “For my next role, I’m currently in talks for a different project. I’m looking forward to greeting you with good things soon.”

Kim Seon-Ho Calls ‘Start Up’ A Gift For Letting Him Meet His Character

    960x0.jpg?cropX1=0&cropX2=2403&cropY1=0&

Kim Seon-ho acquired many new fans while playing Han Ji-pyeong in 'Start Up.'  Salt Entertainment

The storyline of Start Up made it hard to guess which male character might ultimately win the heart of the female lead, so fans of the Korean drama split into two camps. “Team Ji-pyeong” enthusiastically supported the romantic efforts of the character Han Ji-pyeong, played by Kim Seon-ho.

It would be a spoiler to say whether Ji-pyeong ends up winning his romantic quest, but his role definitely won him the hearts of many new fans. Kim really enjoyed playing Ji-pyeong, an investor who mentors start-up tech groups and eventually helps the start-up headed by Do-san, played by Nam Joo-Hyuk, and Dal-mi, played by Bae Suzy.

“I was really grateful and happy to play the character Han Ji-pyeong, who has an admirable role as someone who helps other people,” said Kim. “Due to his success as an investor, Han Ji-pyeong was able to live in a luxurious hotel. I remember viewing that as interesting, and had a lot of fun filming the scenes.”

To hide the fact that he wrote letters to Dal-mi when they were younger and signed them with Do-san’s name, Ji-pyeong asks Do-san to pretend he actually wrote the letters and is the person Dal-mi considers her first love. This prompts a comedy of errors and complicates much of the interaction between the characters played by Kim, Nam and Bae.

One of Kim’s favorite things about being in Start Up was learning more about acting while working with the other actors and actresses in the drama.

“I was glad to just be able to work together, and I feel like my worldview got wider. I also felt a lot of different emotions after observing the attitude of the actors I worked with. I thought I should be an actor who thinks even more deeply than I do now, and also one that can help motivate others. Start Up was a drama that was like a gift that allowed me to meet Han Ji-pyeong. I’m super happy and grateful that many people are recognizing the effort I put into portraying Han Ji-pyeong’s character.”

    960x0.jpg?fit=scale

Kim Seon-ho hugs his adoptive grandmother, played by Kim Hae-sook in 'Start Up.'    Netflix

One of the scenes that helped viewers emotionally relate to his character hinged on Ji-pyeong’s relationship with Dal-mi’s grandmother, played by Kim Hae-sook. When Ji-pyeong was a homeless teen, she took him in, providing him with both an address and emotional stability. In that scene, which takes place many years later, they cry and hug each other. It was difficult to watch without getting teary. Was it difficult to film?

“Rather than saying it was a difficult scene to film, I would say it’s one that made me contemplate a lot,” said Kim.  “I thought a lot about how I could accurately portray the relationship between Won Duk and Han Ji-pyeong. I loved working with my senior, actress Kim Hae-sook, as she is an amazing actress who was able to truly depict the character of Won Duk through her acting.”

Kim began his acting career on stage, appearing in several plays, including Closer, True West and Kiss of the Spider Woman, before making his small screen debut in 2017.

“I primarily chose theater because I wanted to develop my skills as an actor,” he said. “I always think I have room for improvement in terms of my acting. I believe that I can continue becoming a better actor by spending a lot of time reading scripts and practicing interpretation in theater.”

He’s appeared in several TV dramas including Good Manager, Two Cops, 100 Days My Prince and Welcome to Wakiki, but he’s also a cast member of the weekend variety show 2 Days and 1 Night, which takes its cast to interesting locations in South Korea. Cast members perform missions on the show to earn rewards or to avoid punishments. Kim sees these trips as a way to unwind and enjoy spending time with fellow cast mates Kim Jong-min, Yeon Jung-hoon, Moon Se-yoon, DinDin and Ravi of VIXX.

    960x0.jpg?fit=scale

For his next project, Kim returns to the theater.  Salt Entertainment

2 Days and 1 Night is a program that helps me to heal and relax,” he said. “At the travel destinations, I’m able to see beautiful scenery, eat delicious food, and—more than anything—relax while making lasting memories with the other members. I also think being on the show helps me to clear my thoughts. I feel like the members are always by my side.”

Despite his busy schedule, Kim quietly enjoys his down time and tends to go to sleep early so he can exercise the next day.

“I take a lot of walks,” said Kim. “At home, I spend time just relaxing, reading supportive messages from fans on my phone, or reading the letters fans send me. I also love to take naps.”

Now that Start Up has wrapped up he’s preparing for his next role. He will appear in the play Ice, which is set to open in Seoul in January 2021.

“In this play, only ‘Detective 1’ and ‘Detective 2’ make an appearance,” said Kim. “There is a boy who is suspected of murder, and the two detectives question him during the play. However, the boy does not actually appear on stage — ‘Detective 1’ and ‘Detective 2’ completely lead the stage by themselves. As such, I think the fact that this play makes the character of the boy through the audience’s imagination and our acting is unique.”

Drama success does not mean he will only appear in dramas from now on.

“I think I will be able to show fans a variety of different things that they haven’t seen through my appearances on dramas.  I hope this is an opportunity for me to show that Kim Seon-ho is a flexible actor with the potential to show a variety of different aspects.”

After completing his popular drama, Kim received invitations to participate in many global awards ceremonies such as Asia Artist Awards and, according to the celebrity agency Maxperience (MPE), might greet fans in 2021 through various awards in Asia.

Since joining a theater group in college, Kim has found it rewarding to act and to interact with viewers.

“When I act, I feel a sense of ecstasy being able to portray different characters,” he said. “Being able to intensely focus on one character and essentially live as that character is something that draws me to acting. The fact that there are people who watch the character that I portray through my acting in itself is something that makes me happy. Because of the love and attention of viewers, I am able to improve, and continuously want to improve.”

Kim does have an opinion about who deserved romantic success at the end of Start-Up, but, spoilers ahead, don’t read the next paragraph if you haven’t finished the drama.

“It could have been good if my Start-Up character, Han Ji-pyeong, ended up with Dal-mi, but I actually think it is better that the two did not end up together. I think fate plays a big role — fate did not work in favor of Han Ji-pyeong and Dal-mi, while it helped bring Do-san’ and Dal-mi together. I think because of this, I don’t feel that it’s unfortunate Han Ji-pyeong didn’t end up with Dal-mi.”

    ‘Team Ji-pyeong’ may not agree.

It would be an understatement to say that Kim Seon Ho's star shone bright in the tvN K-drama Start-Up. He was such a real game-changer that so many fans were rallying for the second lead to finally get the girl once and for all. And while Han Ji-pyeong may not have ended up with Seo Dal-mi (Bae Suzy) in the drama, Kim Seon Ho still won over our hearts in real life.

That said, it's no surprise that so many offers are already lined up to become his next big project after the success of Start-Up, and his fans are waiting with bated breath to find out when we'll see him on our screens once again and who will be his lucky leading lady this time around!

So far, two K-drama actresses we love have been rumored to be his next on-screen partner:

    1. Kim Ji Won

In November, news of Kim Seon Ho reviewing the script for an upcoming tvN K-drama titled Link made rounds on the internet. The fantasy romance and mystery series, which will be written by Suspicious Partner's Kwon Ki Young, will supposedly feature the actor as chef Eun Gye Hoon, who will set up a restaurant in the town where his twin sister went missing two decades ago.

According to some rumors, Kim Ji Won—who's set to star in Netflix's Lovestruck in the City alongside Ji Chang Wook—is the leading lady being eyed for the project to play the role of Noh Da Hyun, a girl who shares a strange connection with the male lead through his emotions.

    2. Shin Min Ah

Earlier today, December 21, Kim Seon Ho's agency, SALT Entertainmant, has confirmed that he's "positively considering the offer" to star in the K-drama Mr. Hong, which will be a remake of the 2004 romantic comedy film that starred Kim Joo Hyuk and Uhm Jung Hwa. Should he accept, he'll play the role of Hong Doo Shik, "a guy who makes a living by taking on all sorts of odd jobs around town."

According to a report by Soompi, Shin Min Ah—best known for K-dramas such as My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho, Oh My Venus, and Chief of Staff—is in talks to star as the female lead. Her agency, AM Entertainment, confirmed she's currently reviewing the offer. And if things work out, she'll take on the role of Yoon Hye Jin, a dentist with beauty and brains who loves shopping but has a warm heart.

Right now, everything's still pretty much up in the air. But while nothing has been confirmed yet, we want to hear from you!

Who would YOU want Kim Seon Ho to pair up with for his next K-drama?

Shin Min-a and Kim Seon-ho Consider "Mr. Handy" Remake

    photo1286557.jpg

On December 21st Shin Min-a's agency AM Entertainment put out a statement that Shin Min-a, who the agency represents, was optimistically considering a role in a drama remake of "Mr. Handy" which was released theatrically in 2004. Kim Seon-ho's agency Salt Entertainment quickly followed suit, stating that Kim Seon-ho was also optimistically considering the tvN project. "Mr. Handy - Drama" is a tentative title for the drama and still subject to change.

"Mr. Handy" starred Kim Joo-hyuk in the title role as a friendly neighborhood handyman. The movie's perspective character was played by Uhm Jung-hwa, an ambitious dentist who takes a position in Mr. Handy's obscure neighborhood for career reasons. Shin Min-a last appeared in the mystery thriller film "Diva" for which she received award nominations. Kim Seon-ho is still experiencing a big popularity boost due to his role on the popular drama "Start Up" which finished airing on December 6th.

Update: Shin Min Ah And Kim Seon Ho In Talks To Lead Drama Remake Of Rom-Com Film

    Updated December 21 KST:

Shin Min Ah may be meeting Kim Seon Ho in a new drama!

Following the report earlier in the day about Kim Seon Ho being cast in a drama remake of the film “Mr. Hong,” it has now been reported that Shin Min Ah will be playing the female lead.

Her agency AM Entertainment commented, “Shin Min Ah is positively reviewing the new drama ‘Mr. Hong’ (working title).”

Shin Min Ah was offered the role of dentist Yoon Hye Jin, a confident woman who has both beauty and brains. She loves shopping and can appear materialistic, but she has a warm heart and regularly donates to support those in need.

If confirmed, this will be Shin Min Ah’s first drama since “Chief of Staff 2.”

Drama remake from 2004 movie, "Mr Handy, Mr Hong". It's tvn drama. The writer will be Shin Ha Eun who wrote"The Crowned Clown".

@ixxdhx81, I was just reading about that.  In fact, what I read stated it was confirmed, but maybe it was the translation. I loved the original movie. Kim Ju-Hyeok's are big  shoes to fill; If anyone can do it - it is our beloved Mr. Dimples.   Just please get him a fabulous leading lady.

@ixxdhx81, I think Shin Ha-Eun is a newbie writer.  The main writer of "The Crowned Clown" was Kim Seon-Deok.  Shin Ha-Eun was also one of the writers of "Argon" which I have yet to watch. (thanks for the nudge. haha)

Faced with a few options, I hope he chooses the best writer with the best leading lady... ha - if life were that simple....  B)

@7psyche7, I also liked her a lot in "Chief of Staff".  I actually loved her in it.  I thought her transition from rom-com to melodrama was fantastic.

I did not like her in "Oh My Venus." That thing she kept doing with her cheeks  was nauseating, but it may have been the director's instructions. I did finish watching it - because I loved the rest of the cast, esp. Henry.

I still want to watch "Lucifer" with her. And I also plan to watch "Beautiful Days" -an earlier Drama too.

Kim Seon Ho Shares What He’d Do Differently Romance-Wise From His “Start-Up” Character + Which “2 Days & 1 Night” Member He Relies On Most

In a recent interview, Kim Seon Ho shared his thoughts on his latest drama “Start-Up” and his variety show “2 Days & 1 Night”!

Kim Seon Ho earned rave reviews and saw his popularity skyrocket after starring in tvN’s “Start-Up,” which came to an end earlier this month, as the investment genius Han Ji Pyeong.

“I’m so sad that the drama’s over,” said Kim Seon Ho, who spoke fondly of his co-stars and his experience during filming. “I feel really sad that I won’t be able to meet Ji Pyeong anymore. It was an honor to be able to live as the character Han Ji Pyeong.”

When asked to rate how much his real-life personality matched that of his character, Kim Seon Ho replied, “About 50 percent, I think. I’m not good at saying cold things to other people like Ji Pyeong does, and I don’t have a nice car or house in real life. But since I was the one acting, I feel like my true self must have shone through in about half of the character.”

As for how he’d rate his own talent as an investor, Kim Seon Ho remarked, “I’d give myself 0 points. I don’t think I have any talent [when it comes to investments]. I don’t even know how to play go-stop [a Korean card game], and I have no talent for analyzing other people’s investments.”

However, the actor shared that his confidence in his choice of career has never wavered.

“I think I did the right thing by ‘investing’ in acting,” said Kim Seon Ho. “I’ve never once regretted it. Normally, when you invest in something, you set a goal for how much you’d like to earn, but when I first decided to go into acting, I didn’t set that kind of goal. For me, it was acting itself that was meaningful, so I’ve never regretted it or wanted to turn back time, not even once.”

He added, “I think the reason that I’m able to feel this way is because there are so many great people that I’ve met [through acting], and it’s all thanks to the people who saw potential in me and gave me good opportunities.”

    Kim-Seon-Ho-2-768x961.jpg

    Spoilers

When asked what he thought of Han Ji Pyeong’s approach to romance in the drama, Kim Seon Ho revealed that he might have done things a bit differently from his character in real life.

“In the drama, Ji Pyeong confessed his feelings while eating noodles,” he said. “But I thought to myself that if it had been me, I would probably have confessed a little earlier on than that.”

However, Kim Seon Ho shared that he wasn’t disappointed that Han Ji Pyeong didn’t end up with Seo Dal Mi (Suzy’s character) at the end of the drama.

“It would have been nice if it had worked out, but I actually thought it was a good thing that Ji Pyeong didn’t get together with [Dal Mi],” he explained. “I’ve said this before, but I think the right person for him is someone else out there. I don’t think Ji Pyeong and Dal Mi were meant to be, and I think Do San and Dal Mi were. Maybe that’s why I don’t feel disappointed [that they didn’t get together].”

He went on to add, “I actually liked that Ji Pyeong mustered the courage to let Do San know what direction Dal Mi’s heart was facing—and that he stayed true to himself by deciding to remain in the role of helper up until the very end.”

Kim Seon Ho also spoke highly of both Suzy and Nam Joo Hyuk. “I’m sure many people already know this about her, but I think Suzy is an actress with outstanding focus and great acting skills,” he said. “Every moment that she’s acting, she’s remarkably focused, and she remained very composed [throughout filming]. I think she’s a great actress who also knows how to brighten up the atmosphere on set.”

As for Nam Joo Hyuk, he commented, “Nam Joo Hyuk is truly a great actor and younger friend. The whole time we worked together, I learned a lot from him, and we had so much fun that I remember that we were laughing all the time. While we were acting, he always had a lot of ideas, and his witty energy shone through. Thanks to him, I was able to enjoy the time we spent acting together.”

    Kim-Seon-Ho-3.jpg

Finally, when asked to name the “2 Days & 1 Night” cast member that had helped him the most, Kim Seon Ho chose Yeon Jung Hoon.

“The member who helped the most would have to be Jung Hoon, who’s also an actor,” said Kim Seon Ho. “When I have worries or concerns, he helps steer me in the right direction.”

He continued, “While filming ‘2 Days & 1 Night,’ the two of us spent a lot of time together talking about acting or whatever problems were on my mind at the time.”

Lee Yoo Young And Lee Sang Yeob Describe Working Together For Their Relatable Story In 2020 KBS Drama Special

Lee Yoo Young and Lee Sang Yeob talked about teaming up for “Traces of Love,” the ninth instalment of KBS’s 2020 Drama Special!

The pair star in this office romance drama as a former couple who still have feelings for each other. Lee Yoo Young takes the role of Lee Joo Young, a deputy at an architectural firm, while Lee Sang Yeob plays her ex-boyfriend Jung Ji Sub, who ends up working at her firm. They broke up three years ago after having dated for five years.

On December 17, Lee Yoo Young, Lee Sang Yeob, and producing director Yoo Young Eun spoke about the drama at an online press conference on the day of the story’s broadcast.

“All relationships leave traces behind on a person to some degree,” said Yoo Young Eun. “Both Joo Young and Ji Sub still have those traces, and I wanted to depict the story of them reuniting in that situation.”

Lee Sang Yeob spoke about why he decided to appear in the drama. “The story itself seems like something that would happen in real life, so it didn’t seem as though it would be like acting,” said Lee Sang Yeob. “I think you’ll be able to see the real Lee Sang Yeob in this project.”

When asked why he chose to take part in a short drama, Lee Sang Yeob said, “It wasn’t that I had a reason to choose it so much as I really liked the story. I’d seen Director Yoo Young Eun’s previous works and I wanted to work with her. I also wanted to act with Lee Yoo Young.”

He went on to talk about his experience starring alongside Lee Yoo Young. Lee Sang Yeob said, “Something that really surprised me was that she’s very cheerful and has great energy.” He said, “I think I relied on her from start to finish.”

“Looking in her eyes made me feel a lot of emotions that I hadn’t thought of before,” Lee Sang Yeob said. “It made me realize that she’s an amazing actor.”

Lee Yoo Young talked about her own reasons for taking part. “It seemed like a story that anyone might have experienced,” she said. “It’s not very showy but I think you’ll be able to watch it comfortably. I found it even more moving because it seemed like a realistic story that everyone could experience together.” She added, “I think you’ll be able to have fun watching the problems of office life while relating to them.”

About working with Lee Sang Yeob, Lee Yoo Young said she thought they’d be a great fit and look good together. “And when we were acting together, he was so bright and pure on set.” She added, “When he was acting too, he had an unpredictable charm about him.”

Btw there's another rumor spreading across Twitter about his next project. One is he will be casted with Kim Ji Won for the drama Link and one is he is possible casting of him for a book adaptation drama "Letterbox 101". Hope he will not rush his decision though.

@levine1244, Kim Ji-Won would be a wonderful leading lady with him. I am including an article about it.
Are you sure it is "Letterbox 101" and not "Letterbox 110?"  I searched for it, and found the latter. It is written by Lee Do Woo, who also wrote "I'll go when the Weather is Nice."

@levine1244, @ixxdhx81 I looked up "Amazing Saturday".  It is also called "DoReMi Market." It is on tvN, which is less likely to be subbed (maybe) as opposed to KOCOWA material.  I hope we get a translation.

Kim Sun Ho Courted for Male Lead of Late Summer 2021 Fantasy Drama Link with Rumored Female Lead Kim Ji Won

    0hoWsq_0Y1xx0C600?type=webp_1024x576

The understandable love for Han Ji Pyeong is so strong it’s no surprise male lead Kim Sun Ho has punched his own ticket to headlining a prime time drama. He’s being courted as the male lead for the tvN fantasy romance Link, currently landing around August 2021 premiere based on tvN’s preliminary scheduling for next year. The drama is about a chef who opens a restaurant in the same small town his twin sister disappeared twenty years ago. After moving to the town, he begins to exhibit strong emotional reactions including bursting into tears and extreme happiness. He discovers he’s linked to a woman and can feel her emotions. I’m guessing said woman is the female lead character and DC Inside has it that Kim Ji Won will be the female lead of the drama. So there you have it! Let’s hope this drama is a gem for tvN in 2021 to not waste these two

From Kim Seon-ho to Ahn Bo-hyun, The Best Sub Characters of All Time

    photo1283323.jpg

    Posting only relevant material

The best sub-characters of this year are without a doubt, actors Kim Seon-ho and Ahn Bo-hyun.

'Sub-character' or 'sub-nam', is a slang for the runner-up casting next to the leading male character who gets the romance of the drama. This term is so widely known that fans even say they're in 'sub-love' with the 'sub-nam' and right now, Kim Seon-ho is hot. Not long ago, Kim Seon-ho was loved for his role as Han Ji-pyeong, a smart yet warm-hearted venture investor in tvN's weekend drama "Start Up". Kim Seon-ho, who had already enjoyed idol-like popularity in Daehakno, rose gradually by appearing in various dramas, and has gained ground by releasing his lead film recently. However, his performance as a sub-nam in "Start Up" was more attractive, and he was recognized for his star quality.

Officials say that his attractive appearance and mellow low-pitched voice are his most charming points, and most of all, his stable acting is a factor that makes fans fall for Kim Seon-ho. One official said, "Precious emotional acting keeps eyes on him. Fans say he has 'mellow eyes'". Now, fans who are deeply into Kim Seon-ho are soothing the sadness of ending the drama with KBS2's entertainment show "1 Night 2 Days" where he is starring as a fixed member.

3 Intriguing Mysteries That Are Keeping “Awaken” Viewers Guessing

The plot continues to thicken on tvN’s exciting new mystery drama “Awaken”!

“Awaken” is a murder mystery drama that follows the connections between mysterious events unfolding in the present and the secrets behind an enigmatic incident that took place in a village 28 years ago.

Just four episodes into its run, the drama has already given viewers countless mysteries to solve—and inspired a flurry of speculation about potential answers to those riddles.

    Spoilers

Here are three of the mysteries that are keeping “Awaken” viewers on the edge of their seats:

    1. What happened at the White Night Village, and could Do Jung Woo or Jamie be the serial killer?

Previously on “Awaken,” it was revealed that both Do Jung Woo (played by Namgoong Min) and Jamie (played by Lee Chung Ah) were from the White Night Village. Interestingly, however, this information only served to make each character more suspicious of the other—and they didn’t shy away from letting each other know just how strongly they suspected one another.

All the secrecy surrounding the White Night Village—and the trauma that gave Jamie her amnesia—has piqued viewers’ curiosity as to what exactly took place there all those years ago. The drama has also repeatedly raised the question of whether Do Jung Woo or Jamie could possibly be the serial killer that has the entire nation trembling in fear.

    2. Who is sending Lee Ji Wook the advance warnings, and why?

In the latest episode of “Awaken,” Lee Ji Wook (played by Yoon Kyung Ho) came to the startling revelation that all of the advance warnings he received about the serial murders had been sent by someone on the special task force. The reporter realized that not only the advance warnings, but also the anonymous message he received from the person who had cracked the code had all been printed using the same printer. He therefore began to suspect Jamie, concluding that if the killer wasn’t Do Jung Woo, it was likely to be her.

The question remains of who is behind the advance warnings—and what is their true motive for sending them to Lee Ji Wook?

    3. How are Son Min Ho and Oh Jung Hwan connected to the serial killings?

Viewers have been paying especially close attention to the mysterious character of Son Min Ho, the fifth “forewarned-murder” victim and the past leader of the White Night Village (played by Choi Jin Ho). In the latest episode of the drama, it came to light that he was involved in some shady back-door dealings with Oh Jung Hwan, the President’s Chief of Staff (played by Kim Tae Woo), and Jang Yong Sik, the CEO of the widely-used portal site MODU (played by Jang Hyuk Jin).

During a secret meeting between Son Min Ho’s lawyer and such powerful individuals, it was hinted that the topic of the White Night Village was a taboo that was not to be discussed. It remains to be seen whether these influential men have any relation to the serial killer case—and if so, what other secrets they might be hiding.

The next episode of “Awaken” will air on December 14 at 9 p.m. KST.

Kim Mu-yeol is an ex. of an A-Lister in Korea, who also does musicals/theatre still and also a top leading man in Chungmuro. He's signed for the ML of a new Netflix drama with the Kim Hye Soo!! And he's married, and does his thing but doesn't get the severe microscope either!

ah. I only know Kim Mu-Yeol from movies and Drama.  I think he is awesome. His fabulous movie "Forgotten" is still on NF.  There are also a couple more titles on NF, but I have not seen them yet. I look forward to "Juvenile Judgement."

I would love if he got awards notice, at the Baeksang's next yr. April is the cutoff date, so hopefully he can pop up in either Best New Actor or Best Supporting Actor (I know he's one of the mains, but its his best shot, if it were to occur).

I hope so too... He certainly deserve an award.  He can also be in Best Couple with Kim Hae-Sook B) They sure made a powerful duo.

Please be a Ji Sung type of person, and stray away from those things KSH!!

I hope so too - no scandals please.. But Ji Sung had dated Lee Bo-Young exclusively for 6-7 years before they got engaged and married.

MGY was very sick for a long time. CTG was her "comeback" Drama.  I won't be surprised if KSH paid extra attention to her because of that too.

In case you missed it.. 100 days my prince got the highest rating 14.4% nationwide and 15.2% in Seoul area, it's TVn and Monday - Tuesday drama. KSH acted as 2nd lead, but that time the drama wasn't on Netflix. It just entered Netflix last week, on Monday. His name also entered top 10 buzzworthy list that time. He got the spotlight in SK but not internationally. This time, SU rating was only around 5% but it's on Netflix so he got the recognition internationally.

@ixxdhx81, good point. I loved " 100 days my prince" and may re-watch it while it is on Netflix. I just thought that he did not have a lot of screen time on it; I remember feeling disappointed we did not see more of him in that Drama.

In any event, I hope his upcoming Drama as a lead will be successful in ratings too.

@ixxdhx81I did not know that. Thank you.  So he grew up Buddhist?
@rori0711, thank you for the confirmation of KSH Cameo in "Run On."

Despite some lackluster viewership ratings, Kim Seon-ho manages to beautifully bloom

TvN drama series “Start-Up,” which ended on Dec. 6, was a stepping stone for actor Kim Seon-ho on his journey to stardom. The story initially focused on youths preparing to tackle any challenges they encounter as they try to develop their start-up companies but gets sidetracked on the love story that blossoms between the CEO of start-up Samsantaek Seo Dal-mi (played by Bae Suzy) and the CTO Nam Do-san (played by Nam Joo-hyuk).

As a result, the series ended up with poor viewership ratings of just 5 percent, but the one character that received absolute support was Kim's — director Han Ji-pyeong of SH Venture Capital. Although he seems tough on the outside, his sweet side is shown when he becomes pen pals with young Dal-mi 15 years ago under the name Nam Do-san and how he does his best to help the real Do-san in the hopes that his identity isn’t discovered by Dal-mi. According to a monthly brand reputation report published by the Korean Business Research Institute, in the category of personal brand assessment for actors in television series, Kim rose to number one, knocking out Nam and Bae who each ranked No. 2 and 17.

In an email interview with the JoongAng Ilbo, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily, last week Kim said that he’s “just happy that so many people supported Han along with the main characters.”

“I think he was more attractive because he’s a dimensional character,” Kim said. “His attitude varies depending on what the person means to him such as when he meets Do-san while having feelings for Dal-mi, when he stays one step behind of Dal-mi — cheering and supporting her, and when he’s with Dal-mi’s grandmother Choi Won-deok (played by Kim Hae-sook) he turns into a softie, because she’s like the grandmother he never had.”

When asked how similar he was to his character, Kim said he can relate to his character’s personality.

“I think it’s about half,” Kim said. “I don’t have a good car or a house like he does, but we're similar in the way that we can’t speak ill of others.”

Ji-pyeong (played by Kim), seems cold and tough on the outside, but has a soft spot for Won-deok, Dal-mi's grandmother in tvN drama series ″Start-Up.″ [TVN]

The actor said of all his lines and scenes, the most memorable ones were those with Won-deok, especially the scene where Won-seok, who gives orphan Ji-pyeong a place to stay, ties his sneakers and tells him "If you do succeed, don’t bother to call. But if you’re in trouble, call me,” which the actor says touched his heart.

Also scenes where Won-deok tells her granddaughter Dal-mi, who’s having difficulties finding a job, “You’re still a cosmos flower. It’s still spring. If you’re patient and wait a little longer, you’re going to beautifully bloom in fall. So don’t be anxious.” And when Dal-mi tells her grandmother who lost her eyesight, “It’s fall. And they’ve bloomed beautifully, granny.”

“They still linger in my mind because of how much they moved me,” Kim said.

Kim debuted as a stage actor in the 2009 play “New Boeing Boeing,” and says if he could give his past self any advice it would be the cosmos theory, likely because although he enjoyed immense popularity in theaters, he felt like a rookie when he first started to feature on television screens in the 2017 drama series “Good Manager.”

Although he won the both rookie award and excellence award at the MBC Drama Awards “Two Cops” in 2017, it took a while for him to find a role that would leave an impression on people.

“Even when it seems like everything is dark, if you don’t give up and persistently do what you need to do, I believe that a time will come when you will bloom like the cosmos flowers in the fall,” Kim said. “Like Ji-pyeong, there were a lot of people who guided me in my life.”

Since last December, Kim has featured as an entertainer in KBS variety show ″2 Days & 1 Night.″ [KBS]

Last December the actor joined the fourth season of KBS variety show “2 Days & 1 Night” with actor Yeon Jung-hoon, entertainers Kim Jong-min, Moon Se-yoon, singers Din Din and Ravi. In one of the episodes aired last month where members received psychic counseling, he burst in tears admitting that he felt upset because he wasn’t good at either of his jobs — an entertainer and actor.

“Actor Cha Tae-hyun who saw the show gave me advice through the show’s writer Cho Jin-young,” he said. “Although I’ve never met him, he said that it’s natural that I worry about those things during this period, and that it will help me when I act. I was really grateful for his advice. I felt confident [again] thinking about all of these good people next to me, who supported me, through the show.”

The actor also soothed worries from his fans that he might be leaving the show due to his busy schedule.

“I’m going to be here longer than anyone else,” he said. “Although I’m worried a little that the entertainer version of myself might appear in my characters, that’s something that I need to overcome.

“Thankfully, I think for now viewers who enjoyed ‘Start-Up’ are coming over to watch ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ and other drama series [that I appeared in],” he said.

    Kim Seon-ho [SALT ENTERTAINMENT]

Due to his rising popularity, broadcasters are busy collecting scenes from his past and uploading them on their streaming channels. On YouTube, the Kim's kissing scene from the four-episode drama series “I’m crazy, for you!” which aired on MBC in 2018 has surpassed 10 million views.

A play titled "Ice," set to begin showing next month is next in line for Kim.

“The stage has always been an intense place for me,” Kim said. “There is an ecstasy that you can only feel on a stage with an audience. It’s a place filled with passion where I furiously pour out my acting."

Kim does not have any experience in musicals or film yet but hopes his next move will be onto the silver screen.

“I think I still lack qualities to lead the stage while singing for a long time," Kim said. “But if I am cast for a film, I would like to prepare diligently and try it out.”
