Watch: Seo Ye Ji Risks Everything For Revenge While Lee Sang Yeob And More Risk Everything For Love In “Eve” Teaser

Watch: Seo Ye Ji Risks Everything For Revenge While Lee Sang Yeob And More Risk Everything For Love In “Eve” Teaser

tvN has shared an exciting new sneak peek of its upcoming drama “Eve“!

“Eve” is a new romance-revenge drama about a chaebol’s 2 trillion won (approximately $1.7 billion) divorce lawsuit that shocks the entire nation. Unbeknownst to the public, the lawsuit is the result of a carefully calculated revenge scheme 13 years in the making.

Seo Ye Ji will star in the drama as Lee Ra El, the dangerously alluring woman at the center of the divorce lawsuit, while Park Byung Eun will star as Kang Yoon Kyum, the CEO of LY Group. After experiencing the shocking death of her father at a young age, Lee Ra El has grown up into a femme fatale who is determined to take down Kang Yoon Kyum, one of the main culprits responsible for destroying her family.

Lee Sang Yeob will star as Seo Eun Pyung, the youngest member of the National Assembly and a rising political star who is ready to throw everything away for love. Yoo Sun will play the role of Kang Yoon Gyum’s seemingly perfect wife Han So Ra, who is secretly emotionally anxious and obsessed with her husband.

The newly released teaser begins by hinting at the secret pain Lee Ra El is hiding. As she sheds tears amidst a glimpse of an old newspaper article, someone asks her, “What is it you have buried inside your heart?” She goes on to seduce Kang Yoon Kyum, asking him suggestively, “Don’t you want me? Like crazy?”

As things heat up between the two, Kang Yoon Kyum’s wife Han So Ra grows suspicious and orders someone, “Tail the CEO and report back to me on every detail of where he goes and whom he meets.” Meanwhile, Seo Eun Pyung notices that Lee Ra El is playing with fire and warns her in a worried tone, “The road you’re trying to take right now is too dangerous.”

Finally, Kang Yoon Kyum tells Lee Ra El, “I’ll give you a chance. A chance to run away.” In response, she declares challengingly, “If you want me, crawl in.”

“Eve” premieres on June 1 at 10:30 p.m. KST and will be available with subtitles on Viki. In the meantime, check out the new teaser below!

  3. Press event and airing of tvN television series 'Eve' postponed

Press event and airing of tvN television series 'Eve' postponed

The local press event for the upcoming tvN television series “Eve” was canceled and the airing of the series has been delayed for a week.

According to staff Friday, the shooting schedule of the series starring actor Seo Yea-ji has fallen behind. The series will begin airing on June 1.

Within the local broadcasting industry, it is considered standard for the cast and directors to promote their series before it starts airing.

The public has yet to see Seo in person since she was embroiled in controversy last April, when she was accused of being abusive in her previous relationship with actor Kim Jung-hyun in 2018. After claims of her manipulative behavior gained online traction, Seo has kept a low profile.

Before her return to the small screen in "Eve," the actor released an apology in February regarding her past behavior, saying that she has “taken some time off to reflect” and promised to be “more mindful and mature” in the future.

In the series, Seo will portray Lee Ra-el, who seduces the CEO of a powerful conglomerate, Kang Yoon-kyum (played by Park Byung-eun), causing him to go through a divorce costing 2 trillion won ($1.7 billion). This is all part of a revenge plan she has been working on for the past 13 years to get payback for her father’s death.

Finally, Yoo Sun will play the role of Kang Yoon Gyum’s wife Han So Ra, who is the only daughter of a powerful politician. Underneath her perfect and glamorous appearance, the nervous Han So Ra is emotionally anxious and obsessed with her husband.

In the newly released poster, Lee Ra El stands alone as she towers over the other characters, hinting at the fact that they are all caught in a web of her design. Notably, there is a difference between the size of her two shadows: in contrast to the one behind Seo Eun Pyung, the shadow cast behind Han So Ra and Kang Yoon Kyum looms larger, emphasizing her influence over the married couple.

Kang Yoon Kyum appears to have turned his back on his wife, who anxiously clutches her skirt in one hand, while Seo Eun Pyung’s clenched fists and resolute frown reveal his determination to protect both his values and his love.

The poster’s caption reads, “The more dangerous it is, the more you want that one person.”

Seo Ye Ji, Park Byung Eun, Yoo Sun, And Lee Sang Yeob Portray Intriguing Characters At Script Reading For New Drama

    spacer.png

A photo from a script reading of the upcoming drama starring Seo Ye Ji, Park Byung Eun, Yoo Sun, and Lee Sang Yeob has been released!

“Eve” (literal title, formerly known as “Eve’s Scandal”) is a romance drama dealing with the inside story of a chaebol‘s 2 trillion won (approximately $1.7 billion) divorce lawsuit that shocks the entire nation. Seo Ye Ji stars as Lee Ra El, who was born between a genius father and a beautiful mother. After going through an unfortunate family affair, she transforms into a woman who is likened to a “dangerous flower” with a fatal charm. She is the woman at the center of the unbelievably expensive divorce lawsuit. Park Byung Eun will star as the CEO of the No. 1 corporate group in the financial world.

When discussing the casting of Seo Ye Ji as Lee Ra El, the production team said, “We thought solid acting skills and immersion are important since ‘Eve’ contains the process of Lee Ra El carefully preparing for revenge. Seo Ye Ji is an actress with a strong image and the energy to immerse herself to pull off Lee Ra El. From the first meeting, she analyzed the script more thoroughly than anyone else. A high understanding of the character and great affection for the project are the main reasons she was cast.

Park Byung Eun plays Kang Yoon Gyum, the CEO of LY Group, the No. 1 corporate group in the financial world. He is a man who has been faithful to his family and work without a single scandal, but he falls in love with Lee Ra El after meeting her. When discussing his role, the production crew said, “From Lee Ra El’s point of view, Kang Yoon Gyum is one of the main culprits of her collapsed family history and a man who needs to fall in love. We needed an actor in his 40s who is intelligent and sexy at the same time while also having a look that can portray the character’s double-sidedness. In that sense, we thought Park Byung Eun, who has the perfect face that crosses between good and evil and acting ability that adds to the character’s narrative, is the perfect option. Viewers will be able to feel another charm of Park Byung Eun.”

Yoo Sun plays the role of Han So Ra, who must be the best. Han So Ra is the only daughter of powerful politician Han Pan Ro and wife of Kang Yoon Gyum. However, underneath her perfect and glamorous appearance, she is emotionally anxious and obsessed with her husband. The production team praised Yoo Sun’s talent by saying, “Yoo Sun is an actress who has the visuals and acting skills to portray the perfect appearance of a woman who has everything while also expressing her inner feelings, which are stained with wounds, anxiety, and obsession. Yoo Sun’s elegant charisma and unlimited acting spectrum will shine once again, creating an unprecedented character.”

Finally, Lee Sang Yeob plays the role of Seo Eun Pyung, the youngest member of the National Assembly who has overcome his painful past of starting out at an orphanage. He has risen to the top, but he has resolved to abandon it all if it is for love. Commenting on Lee Sang Yeob, the production team said, “Lee Sang Yeob’s image fits perfectly to that of Seo Eun Pyung’s character, who is willing to freely sacrifice everything he accumulated for love. More than anything, during the first meeting, when we saw Lee Sang Yeob’s shining eyes that are warm and gentle yet firm, we confirmed, ‘He is Seo Eun Pyung himself.'”

I've been thinking the same thin4g! He is in talks for 2 lawyer roles. In that case, I would go for 1000 Won Lawyer. It sounds interesting! On the other hand, a drama set to air in 2023 is a long shot. Hope he would accept 1000 Won Lawyer and returns to the small screen within 2022. :)

@gm4queen, thank you for answering... :)

I am still thinking about the two of them, but I tend to go with 1000 Won Lawyer too.

He could potentially go with both.
One Thousand Won Lawyer is slated for 2022 on SBS.
Sacred Divorce is slated for 2023 on JTBC.

Lets look at the proposed scriptwriters. (Only mentioning their main works, in which they were the main writers)
One Thousand Won Lawyer's writer is planned to be
Choi Soo Jin. (Heart Surgeons, Defendant, City Hunter, I Love You.)
Sacred Divorce's writer is planned to be Yoo Young-Ah (Drama: Thirty Nine, Encounter, Entertainers.
Movies:  Kim Jinyoung: Born 1982, My Annoying Brother, Run Off, Like for Likes, Paparoti, Wedding Dress.)

Off the top of my head - I think that
Choi Soo Jin has better Drama record.  I have not seen I Love You (2008), but I loved her other Drama.

Yoo Young-Ah on the other hand, has more experience as a writer, but it seems most of it is in movies.  I do have high hopes for Thirty Nine, mostly because of the cast.  But her movies are mixed bag for me. Some I loved, some I did not care for.

    I still want to see
Kim Jinyoung: Born 1982. (I just read that the novel - was the most sold Korean novel in the past 5 years.   source  )

So, if I were to choose based on writers, I think I'd go with One Thousand Won Lawyer, because although she has a shorter "resume" - she really wowed me with her Drama.  So here, I am in agreement with you - @gm4queen.

I am eager to see what he chooses.

Below is a new article about Sacred Divorce.
