Channel A’s upcoming drama “Eccentric! Chef Moon” has shared a new sneak peek of its two leads!

“Eccentric! Chef Moon” is a heartwarming romantic comedy that will follow the unusual love story of Yoo Bella, a world-famous fashion designer who has lost her memories (played by Go Won Hee), and star chef Moon Seung Mo (played by Shinhwa’s Eric).

Although Yoo Bella was once a highly-driven and successful designer, an unexpected accident causes her to transform into an accident-prone klutz who is unable to remember her past. No longer able to work, she moves to the countryside, where she reunites with chef Moon Seung Mo and embarks on an unexpected journey of growth, love, and development.

Meanwhile, Moon Seung Mo is a celebrated chef who travels all over the world opening pop-up restaurants to introduce people to Korean cuisine. However, an unforeseen incident brings him to the same countryside village as Yoo Bella, whom he happened to meet once in the past—and due to circumstances outside their control, they are forced to live together under one roof.

Channel A’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Eccentric! Chef Moon” has shared new stills of an unforgettable first meeting between Shinhwa’s Eric and Go Won Hee.

“Eccentric! Chef Moon” will be a healing romantic comedy that tells the story of world-famous fashion designer Yoo Bella, who has lost her memory and has become a carefree troublemaker in the Seoha village, and celebrity chef Moon Seung Mo as they grow, love, and succeed.

The new stills show Moon Seung Mo staring intently at a sharpened knife while Yoo Bella is walking around in a simple outfit and colorful scarf as an accent. It also shows Yoo Bella in the emergency room and Moon Seung Mo watching over her with a concerned expression on his face. Moon Seung Mo is said to mistake Yoo Bella for a beggar in Australia and goes back to the hospital with food he prepared himself, drawing curiosity as to what will happen between the two.

My favorite part is when the little girl literately rolled into Seung-mo's life at his parents' restaurant and how hard his parents scolded him about having a kid without them knowing or got married.  He was like "I told you so" when the little girl said her last name is Kim lol

PD Choi Do-hoon, who directed ‘Yoobyeolna! Chef Moon’, shared his behind the scene stories about casting and the attracting points of his work.

 

To premiere on March 27th at 10:50 pm, ‘Yoobyeolna! Chef Moon’ will soon greet viewers on Channel A. ‘Yoobyeolna! Chef Moon’ (screenplay by Jung Yoo-ri, Kim Kyung-soo, directed by Choi Do-hoon, Jung Heon-soo) is a healing romantic comedy about world-renowned fashion designer Yoo Bella, who lost her memories after an accident and becomes a troublemaker. She meets star chef Moon Seung-mo in Seoha Village and develops growth, love and success.

 

Director Choi said he wanted to share with the viewers his feeling of joy and fulfillment through ‘Yoobyeolna! Chef Moon.’ The director said “I want to convey deeply the meaning of success through the story of Dong Han Group and the utopia like Seoha Village, which stands in the opposite direction.”

 

He described the attraction of ‘Yoobyeolna! Chef Moon’ as a charming version of  'cute Romcom’ with a much brighter tone. Director Choi Do-hoon also expressed his trust in Eric, Go Won-hee and other actors. He said “When I thought about who could best play the star chef Moon Seung-mo role; Eric, Moon Jung Hyuk was the first actor that came out on top. I never thought of any other actor that could express a tough but thoughtful character,” expressing his strong confidence toward actor Eric.

 

As for Go Won-hee, who plays the role of Yoo Bella, the director stated, “I had noticed her since she was a rookie. It would be difficult for a beautiful actress to put down her beauty but she seemed fearless. I wanted to work with her but I didn’t know the opportunity came so quickly,” revealing behind stories that led to the casting choices.

 

In addition, director Choi Do-hoon pointed out the chemistry and acting skills of each actor as the key points to watch 'Yoobyeolna! Chef Moon,’  “Eric and Go Won-hee were both very considerate so the filming began without any awkwardness right from the start,” explaining their wonderful collaboration. He also mentioned to anticipate the acting from supporting cast, actors An Nae-sang, who brought the subtleness of suspense, as well as Gil Hae-yeon.

Channel A’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Eccentric! Chef Moon” is gearing up for its premiere!

“Eccentric! Chef Moon” is about reckless world-famous fashion designer Yoo Bella (Go Won Hee), who suffers from memory loss but experiences love, growth, and success after meeting star chef Moon Seung Mo (Shinhwa’s Eric).

In the upcoming drama, viewers will be able to travel the food and fashion worlds while watching Eric and Go Won Hee’s sweet chemistry. Here are four points to look out for in the new romantic comedy!

Chaotic housemate romance

Due to a sudden accident, Moon Seung Mo ends up at Seoha village and eventually encounters Yoo Bella who has lost her memories. When Yoo Bella tells him she’s hungry the moment they meet, Moon Seung Mo ends up showcasing his phenomenal cooking skills for the eccentric woman.

Viewers can look forward to the comedic and romantic moments that will come from Moon Seung Mo living together with the Kim Seol Ah (Go Do Yeon), who keeps calling him her father; Bang Da Hoon (Choi Kwang Je), who is his close friend; and Yoo Bella, who keeps appearing in his thoughts.

Eric returns with rom-com “Eccentric! Chef Moon”

Singer-actor Eric Mun is returning to the small screen in four years to feature in Channel A’s new miniseries “Eccentric! Chef Moon,” with actress Koh Won-hee. 

 

The new series, set to air Friday night, will feature the 43-year-old as star chef Moon Seung-mo who falls in love with a reckless fashion designer Yoo Yoo-jin. 

 

Taking place in the rural and fictional Seoha Village in the northern Chungcheong Province, the drama will unfold a warm story as the two characters develop love.

 

“After taking a break from acting, I was looking for dramas with more warm story lines compared to those of my previous pieces where I was mostly featured as a cold and sensitive character. I decided to star in this series because of the pleasant feeling through the characters and setting of the story,” Mun said during a press conference held online Friday.

 

This is also his first appearance on a television drama since he tied the knot with actress Na Hye-mi in 2017. Previous to the marriage, Mun starred in smash-hit romantic comedies “Another Miss Oh” in 2016 and “Discovery of Love” in 2014.

 

Producer Choi Do-hoon said during the media event that he had Mun in mind as the chef role from the very start.

 

“Mun is actually a good cook and he sticks well with Moon Seung-mo’s image, so I really hoped he would take the role, and thankfully he accepted it,” Choi said.

 

Mun’s active involvement in cooking variety shows was one of the reasons why Choi found Mun well-suited for a chef role. Starting with “Three Meals a Day” in 2014, after another season of the tvN show in 2017, Mun appeared on “Law of the Jungle” and “Wheeled Restaurant” in the years following. 

 

Living up to the expections, it is told that Mun pulled off the chef role perfectly. According to Choi, Mun performed more than 90 percent of all the cooking scenes himself. 

 

Koh said her character as Yoo-jin will be a dynamic and comic one. 

 

“She shows a completely different personality after losing her memory. I’ll be showing diverse aspects of myself in the drama,” Koh said.

 

Veteran actor Ahn Nae-sang will be acting a cold-hearted successful businessman Im Cheol-yong who is “a man driven by greed” according to the actor’s explanation. 

 

Other casts include Gil Hae-yeon, Cha Jung-won and Choi Kwang-jae.

 

The 16-episode series will air every Friday and Saturday at 10:50 p.m.

“Eccentric! Chef Moon” is a healing romantic comedy that tells the story of world-famous fashion designer Yoo Bella (Go Won Hee), who has lost her memory and has become a carefree troublemaker in the Seoha village, and celebrity chef Moon Seung Mo (Go Won Hee) as they grow, love, and succeed.

In the first episode, Yoo Bella came to Korea to deal with Im Cheol Yong (Ahn Nae Sang) who subtly threatened her to collaborate with his company. Yoo Bella firmly rejected him, quipping she’d rather deal with the headache of a lawsuit. However, his daughter Im Hyun Ah (Cha Jung Won), a huge fan of Yoo Bella, begged her to give her a chance to show her designs. In the car, Yoo Bella candidly pointed out Im Hyun Ah had copied her ideas and stolen her dress. Im Hyun Ah panicked and sent the car flying off the edge. Yoo Bella showed up in front of Moon Seung Mo, and the preview hinted that Yoo Bella lost her memory.

and Channel A is much newer cable too compare to OCN, JTBC or tvN...  Channel A's dramas often has rating of 0.3 - 1% so the 0.9% doesn't surprise me. Touch drama, the one before Eccentric! Chef Moon had rating of this range too.  I just hope the story is good

Sounds like they jam everything in the 1st episode to lay everything out for character introduction and the rest of events to come.  My favorite scene was when the little girl rolled into Seung-mo's life, literally rolled in with her suitcase and all hahaha 

 

Just be careful what you wish for! hahahaha  His I-told-so expression when the little girl said her last name is Kim! LOL  It's funny but heartwarming with the visiting his parents and getting a child all in 1 go!

I just watched the first episode. I liked it.

 

When I saw that Chef Moon put the knives in his suitcase I just knew that the heroine will see them and will misunderstand. It was a good oportunity for comedy. I thought she will run away from him frightened but he was terrified to see her (in the last scene).

 

I like the kid. She is adorable.

Bella (I will call her that because it is easier for me) suffered a trauma so that`s why she doesn`t like to be on the spotlight. We`ll discover later what happened with her mother. I wonder if it is something related with Im Cheol-Yong. That man is scary. His right hand implied  that he did many bad things form him. We`ll see.

 

The food looks delicious. I want to try myself the food.

So I finished the episode 1.Bella is anorexic. Seug Mo is a celebrity chef.  The arson was deliberate.  We don't know yet who's the child's mother or if Seung Mo's really the father.

 

From the looks of it based on preview he rom-com will start episode 2. I wonder if Bella lost her memory?

 

I'm not into rom-com and I usually don't watch the genre, but I like Eric. I'm not familiar with him but watch On Hae Young and I enjoyed the drama  (was LOL so much). I also like that fact that he's not the glossy type of face.. if you know what I mean. So yeah, watching for Eric.

I am an Eric fan in terms of his dramas. I've watched him in Discovery of Love and Another Miss Oh. Que Sera Sera is still on my plan to watch. I think part of it is that he has been fortunate to star with the best of the best actresses in kdramaland (Seo Hyun-Jin and Jung Yu-Mi). But he also plays off well with them and has great chemistry. And is it just me or does he look better than ever? I think it might be the hairstyle. 

 

Go Won-Hee was one of my discoveries in perfume last year. I think she has a lot of comedic talent and she will be great in this excentric role.

 

So about the first episode. 

I really enjoyed the first half of it. Their first meeting was a lot of fun. Go Won-Hee as this fasnhionista feels so natural. It was already like that in Perfume. 

But then you have some bad guys burning his parents house. And they run into the burning house for some reason.. I didnt quite get what their deal was. To get the reciepe? Whatever it was.. I didnt feel that bad for them. 

You have her mothers death and possible conspiracy.

You have her familes company stuff. 

 

I am not sure if i needed all of that. Like there was already enough as it was. Her having anorexia was a rather new and unique choice. He suddenly has a kid to look after. Her hidden idendity. Maybe that rivalry if you can even call it that with the other designer. I wasn't the biggest fan of her amnesia when i read about it but ok that's a way to change her into this exccentric personality. And have that countryside setting. All of this sounds more than enough to make a drama out of it.

 

But all the other stuff? Is that really nessecary? I just hope it doesn't go like Forest where you had a little bit of everything but no clear direction. Well let's see how it goes. I hope we won't see too much screentime on those people fighting over who is ceo and evil family plots. I am looking forward to the back and forth between the 2 leads next episode though.
