Actor Lee Hong-na's appearance has been confirmed as "Seok Ho-pil," the deputy head of the Korean Empire Guard, in SBS' "The King-Eternal Monarch."

"The King" is a fantasy-romance drama that depicts Lee Gon, the emperor of the Korean Empire who tries to close the gate to the level, and Jeong Tae-eul, a Korean detective who tries to protect someone's life, people, and love, through collaboration across the two worlds.

Lee Hong-na, who is over 180 centimeters tall, has a jiu-jitsu and a swimmer's body, and a charming glance, will play the role of Seok Ho-pil, the commander of the Korean National Guard.

Lee Hong-na said, "I'm so happy to be able to participate in writer Kim Eun-sook's work. I'm always excited about filming. Now, more than any aspirations or greed, I "will do my best not to disappoint the director and writer who gave me the opportunity," he said.

This year, Lee is set to release his films, "Hot Blood," "The Fluid Escape," "International Investigation" and "The Intruder." Since he made his face known as the main character of the music video for "Come Back Home" by Seo Taiji X BTS in 2017, he has so far surpassed a variety of genres, including the film "One Number: Your Hand," "Tazza: One Eyed Jack," "Door Lock," "Remember Me," "The Great Wish," and the drama "Trap," and "Save Me."

"The King-Eternal Monarch" is written by Kim Eun-sook, the unique Korean hit-maker, and Baek Sang-hoon, director of "Secret, Who Are You: School 2015" and "Descendants of the Sun," and "Search: WWW" director Jung Ji-hyun. It will premiere in April.

  • Premiere Date: April 2020

The King: Eternal Monarch is probably the biggest Korean drama that premieres in 2020, thanks to the popularity of its lead actors Lee Min-ho and Kim Go-eun, as well as writer Kim Eun-sook, who wrote the smash-hit dramas Mr. SunshineGoblin, and Descendants of the Sun. It is a romantic fantasy drama that centers on an emperor (Lee) ruling the alternate monarchy Korea and a detective (Kim Go-eun) living in a parallel world where Korea is a democracy. The two work together to close the door that connects their worlds but they end up facing another complication in the process—their growing affection for one another. Lee Min-ho and Kim Go-eun previously worked together with Kim Eun-sook in The Heirs and Goblin, respectively, and so did PD Baek Sang-hoon, who co-directed Descendants of the Sun. See the first stills from the drama featuring the five main actors, including Woo Do-hwan and Jung Eun-chae.

Any idea if they'd do any promotions for the drama? I'm curious considering the current situation. Would love to watch the lead couple interacting on interviews and stuff

The airing date is more than three weeks away. Hopefully, they'd still push through with the promotions. They could do away with large audiences to keep everyone safe.

Two main posters of "The King-Eternal Monarch" with Lee Min-ho, Kim Go-eun, Woo Do-hwan, Kim Kyung-nam, Jeong Eun-chae and Lee Jung-jin were unveiled to invite to the brilliant "world of dimensions. "

The King-Eternal Monarch, a new SBS drama set to premiere in April following "Hyena," is a fantasy romance that depicts Lee Gon, the emperor of the Korean Empire who is trying to close the gate of the dimension, and Jeong Tae- Eun, a Korean detective who is trying to protect someone's life, people, and love, through collaboration across the two worlds. Writer Kim Eun-sook, who is known for her best handwriting in Korea as a romantic comedy legend, and Baek Sang-hoon, director of "Hua Yu-School 2015" and "Descendants of the Sun," Jung Ji-hyun, director of 'WWW,' is in unison and is drawing keen attention as the best-selling drama of 2020.

In this regard, two main posters of "The King-Eternal Monarch," which will open the doors of the parallel world wide in April 2020, are drawing keen attention. First, the group main poster, with Lee Min-ho, Kim Go-eun, Woo Do-hwan, Kim Kyung-nam, Jung-chae and Lee Jung-jin, featured six characters that included the meaning of the two worlds : the Korean Empire and the Republic of Korea. With the Korean Empire emperor Lee Min-ho and Korean detective Kim Go-eun playing Jung Tae-eun, six people are changing their tune, including Cho Young-hwan, the captain of the Korean Imperial Guard, Kim Kyung-nam; the first female prime minister of the Korean Empire, Jung Eun-chae, the first Korean Empire prime minister; and Lee Jung-jin, the queen of the Korean Empire, Lee Jung-rim, the opposite of the Korean Empire.

Lee Min-ho, in an emperor's uniform located in the center, created a glorious atmosphere with his superior eyes and noble manner, while Kim Go-eun looks somewhere with a faint look. Udo-hwan, who revealed his solemnity in a cold gray tone, showed the overflowing image of God with his dignified eyes, while Jung Eun-chae, who exudes charisma, showed a mixture of desire and nobility. Also, Kim Kyung-nam is keenly aware of the situation, while Lee Jung-jin is raising expectations by giving off a gentle, purple force with dark energy.

In particular, Lee Min-ho and Kim Go-eun's "Couple Main Posters" beautifully and mysteriously captured the fateful encounter between the emperor of the Korean Empire and the detective of the Republic of Korea. Lee Min-ho and Kim Go-eun, who stand tall in a dense urban forest white horse, and Kim Min-ho, who focus only on each other in the midst of shaking lights, offer a "dreamy excitement" in a dreamy atmosphere . In addition, Lee Min-ho and Kim Go-eun's eyes met affectionately, and the moment of fate is reflected 180 degrees symmetrically, giving a strong impact. The Korean Empire, and the Republic of Korea are increasing their curiosity about the sour and exciting parallel world romance that the two will create in a different world.

``The King-Eternal Monarch'' is a strange but compelling drama, with production company Hwa & Dam Pictures saying, `` I wanted to express the fantasy romance I'd first encounter with two main posters and the parallel world I've never seen before. '' We ask for your interest in The King-Eternal Monarch, which will be aired in April.

"The King-Eternal Monarch" will air at 10 pm on Friday and Saturday in April, following "Hyena."

“The King: Eternal Monarch” Cast Exudes Aura Of Royalty And Fantasy In Main Posters

On March 25, upcoming SBS weekend drama “The King: Eternal Monarch” dropped two main posters!

Written by Kim Eun Sook, “The King: Eternal Monarch” is about two parallel universes of a monarchy and a democracy. Lee Min Ho stars as Emperor Lee Gon who tries to close the door between the two worlds, and Kim Go Eun stars as Detective Jung Tae Eul who works with the emperor to protect people’s lives.

The first poster features the six main characters from parallel universes: the Korean Empire and the Republic of Korea. Lee Min Ho exudes royalty vibes as Emperor Lee Gon of the Korean Empire, and Kim Go Eun poses as Jung Tae Eul from the Republic of Korea. The couple poster with Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun beautifully and mysteriously captures the fateful encounter between the emperor of the Korean Empire and a detective of the Republic of Korea. Lee Min Ho is gazing at Kim Go Eun from his gallant white horse, and they are only focusing on each other in the midst of brilliant city lights. The dreamy atmosphere hypes up viewers with its modern-day aesthetics.

Lee Min-ho and Woo Do-hwan, "The King-Eternal Monarch," predicted a strong bromance.

The meeting between Lee Min-ho and Woo Do-hwan draws attention. The two will play the role of Korean Empire Emperor Lee Gon and Korean Imperial Guard Commander Cho Young-young, respectively, in a strong bromance.

Lee Gon and Cho Young are like brothers who met as the main soldiers and subjects in the royal court of the Korean Empire , and became close friends with each other, and are like an oasis in the stern imperial court.

Two shots of Lee Min-ho and Woo Do-hwan were released. The emperor, Lee Gon, who usually deviates from his dignified and cool expression, looks playful, shoving his face to Cho Young with a gentle expression. Cho Young, on the other hand, expressed embarrassment at Lee Gon's unexpected behavior.

"Lee Min-ho and Woo Do-hwan naturally expressed the soulmate between the emperor and the commander of the Guards, who had never seen before, and gave warmth throughout the shoot," the production company said. "Please pay attention to Lee Min-ho and Woo Do-hwan's performance in "The King-Eternal Monarch."

The King-Eternal Monarch" will air at 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday night in April, following "Hyena."

Lee Min Ho + Woo Do Hwan Are Closer Than Brothers In “The King: Eternal Monarch”

SBS’s upcoming drama “The King: Eternal Monarch” has shared a new glimpse of the chemistry between stars Lee Min Ho and Woo Do Hwan!

Penned by Kim Eun Sook, the famous writer behind hit dramas “Goblin,” “Descendants of the Sun,” “Mr. Sunshine,” and “Heirs,” “The King: Eternal Monarch” is a fantasy romance drama about two parallel universes. One universe is a democracy that resembles modern-day Korea as we know it, while the other is an alternate universe in which Korea is an empire ruled by a single monarch.

In order to fight evil and close the door between their two worlds, the ruler of the Korean Empire—Emperor Lee Gon (played by Lee Min Ho)—ends up joining forces with Jung Tae Eul, a detective who resides in modern-day Korea (played by Kim Go Eun).

Woo Do Hwan will also star in the drama as Jo Young, the chief imperial bodyguard and Emperor Lee Gon’s closest friend. Their friendship began long before Jo Young took on his role as chief bodyguard—Lee Gon and Jo Young first met at an early age and grew up together in the imperial palace. Despite technically being ruler and subject, the two longtime friends are even closer than brothers, with the drama’s producers describing them as “soulmates.”

On March 26, the upcoming drama released new stills that capture the unique relationship between Lee Gon and Jo Young. As both men must constantly be on their guard around others due to the nature of their positions, they typically wear stern, intimidating expressions that hide their feelings. However, when they are alone together, they are able to finally let their guard down and breathe, finding a sort of oasis in one another.

One of the photos shows the typically severe and forbidding Lee Gon playfully invading Jo Young’s personal space with a sly smile, successfully catching the stone-faced soldier off guard.

The producers of “The King: Eternal Monarch” remarked, “Lee Min Ho and Woo Do Hwan were able to naturally convey the soulmate relationship between the emperor and his chief bodyguard, and they created a warm atmosphere throughout the entire shoot.”

They went on, “Please keep an eye on Lee Min Ho and Woo Do Hwan, who will be taking on the challenge of making a new kind of transformation through their acting in ‘The King: Eternal Monarch.'”

“The King: Eternal Monarch” is currently scheduled to premiere sometime in mid-April. In the meantime, you can check out a teaser for the drama here!
